I liked the location and the facilities. we stayed as part of a wedding party and thoroughly enjoyed everything the bathroom in our bedroom was ready for refurbishment, but it was fine.
The staff were very supportive. I needed some special consideration for a guest I had invited. A very sick lady. I was able to entertain her in a private room thanks to your team. In particular a young lass called Megan. It was her innovation that made this happen. You have an excellent team at this hotel.
The leisure facilities mainly the pool area I visisted many times. Genearlly enjoyed my stay and the people who were working at the hotel were friendly and efficient. I would return wiothout hesitation.
the spa facilities and the lake behind the hotel
We were parents of the groom and we were delighted with the venue, the wedding breakfast, the attitude and helpfulness of the staff and the facilities Kilhey Court has to offer. Rooms are a little tired looking but clean and well equipped. If I had to complain about anything, it would be that the bar in the evening was understaffed and it was said that the 20 minute wait to buy a drink was unacceptable.
Excellent attentive service from friendly staff, especially around bar and restaurant. Although under pressure, especially at breakfast time, the staff kept their sense of humor throughout.
ful breakfast came without mushrooms
every one was very helpful.
The staff were great, it was my daughters birthday and they made a fuss of her and she loved it. It was so clean and relaxing, I would love to go again. everything was perfect
That all staff spoke to you politely even when merely passing on the stairs.
Vrry relaxed N/A
Close to centre of town Sunday morning staff were sitting on food counters and picking at food. I could not believe it.
Room was located by lifts which was a little noisy
Friendly staff Dont like fag burns in carpets and smelly soft furnishings.
nothing unhelpful staff , dirty rooms , overpriced
Clean, comfortable. Handy for town centre. Not easy to find and in a fairly unappealing location - poor lighting and condition of footpaths around hotel. Be careful if out walking!
Thay have now upgraded the Hotel and is much better as I stey here 2/3 times a year.
The hotel room we stayed in was old and tired, the breakfast was a very poor offering.
relaxed atmosphere, quiet, easy access to local and regional ammenities paying extra for breakfast, the price of these rooms should have been inclusive
Location of hotel for shopping and visiting family Good value for money Staff very helpful Price of bar drinks seems high and food was not value for money, No vegetables with meeal, sausage & mash was exactly that!!!! Why no veg
Excellent value - very clean - good location No bad points
Very helpful and friendly staff, very clean, smart-looking rooms. No refrigerator or air conditioning.
Hotel was everything that I would expect from Ramada. Excellent I currently stay in a former Ramada Encore hotel in Walsall with the same excellent facilities and self service breakfast at no extra cost. The only bad point would be the extra charge for breakfast.
Good rooms, clean and tidy. Courteous staff. Could do with more heating in this bad weather! Cold during the night.
Only 2 days old everything new staff very helpful
ease of access from major roads network. Cleanliness
From check in through to check out on the sunday the staff throughout the hotel were very freindly and helpfull and I have booked a further weekend break 08/08/2008 keep up the good work
The hotel was well located for my purposes, staff were unobtrusive, room was clean with a good bathroom. Tip: ensure you get a room away from the main road. The cooked breakfast buffet set me up nicely for the day. Do not drink the coffee at breakfast, it's only distantly related to the real thing.
The room was very warm and comfortable and the buffet breakfast was more than enough too last until lunch time The television had no sky or freeview channels
staff very good. nothing was a chore for them
Comfortable beds, very friendly and helpful staff. Bathrooms could do with some updating.
Decent sized room and comfortable bed Wifi facilities in room were too expensive
Good value for money. I stayed for one night. It is quiet and peaceful. A bit far from Wigan. If I was staying for more than one night it won't be cost effective to use a taxi every time you leave the hotel. If you have a car it is never a problem!
Friendly duty manager Breakfast disappointing. Noisy until after midnight.
Proximity to my family was my No 1 priority. VFM and comfort also helped.
location and facilities unclean bath tub. the price of the room was cheaper 48hrs prior to the booking date. cheaper than the bookings.com price
Convenience and value for money
Lovely swimmimg pool, very suitable for children Payment for using the swimmimg pool and towels.
Receptionist very efficient and made us feel welcome. The Hotel is quite run down with evidence of neglect and age. Could do with a re-vamp. No food available from ~ 2200hrs, which is when we checked in. Take- Away food could be ordered & delivered from local outlets.
Swimming pool, although very small / spa pool. There was no menu outside the restaurant to see whether it was worth going in (in the end I didn't). Also it woul have been nice to be able pay for swim facilities with the room.
The price. Just few quid more expensive than Formule 1, but much more comfortable. Great budget hotel! WiFi was not available in rooms - only in the reception area. Water pressure from the shower was low, Rooms - mainly clean, but some dust could be seen around the corners. Furniture is a little old.
friendly and helpfull staff
Bedroom was too cold.
the availability to allow pets
Nothing Kids playing football in the hotel corridor, no hot water / pressure. Rooms dated and not very warm. Furniture, fixtures and decor reminiscent of 60's / 70's. Not value for money. Breakfast basic. Poor choice of hotel. Only positive was the helpful receptionist.
We were able to stay in a good hotel with our dogs. No
The staff are always friendly. On this visit the e mail from booking.com hadn't come through the whole time i was there.
My only negative was that my reservation hadnt been passed from booking.com to the hotel. The hotel did however honour the booking and the rate.
convenience having to wait over 1 hour to check into room
service at breakfast - slow, forgot orders, dirty cups, dirty cutlery, jam pot smeared with dried ketchup, tray where jams etc stood on table was dirty - think honey , poor selection fruit, evening meal in lounge our first choices were not available, and starter was sent out with homous instead of guacamole as they had run out of that also. Bathroom smelt of old urine. Room was noisey from a TV next door / interconnecting door which was not turned off until 2am - hotel staff did not want to enter room to turn it off as guest was out so they moved my room at 00.30. charged us for full cooked breakfast instead of continental on both mornings. Also larger coach party was staying at the hotel all of whom were up at 6am making alot of noise in corridor this wasn't a problem as also had an early start but would of recommended trying to seperate coach party guests and other guests if they have got an early departure. My collegue was also woken by people on motor bikes outside her room in the early hours. and her bathroom smelt of drains on the 2nd day
The gardens outside outdated interior in the room; non functioning heating
Front desk staff were excellent The coffee for breakfast and the separate coffee bar were uniformally terrible. Training as a barrista would help them get a decent coffee out of what is a good espresso machine.
Bar and restaurant service was poor
Good location and very nice looking Gym was very small Food was priced high for the quality
The leisure facilities
Tim Good at reception Due to cumputer failure total mess up with payiny bill
Wigan North Premier Inn has friendly helpful staff and it is in a convenient easy to get to location. It is quiet and the accommodation is clean and of a high standard. We enjoyed our stay and would go their again. No
All good, receptionist was vey polite and helpful Breakfast was over-priced at £7.50 each no sky channels.
Excellent, friendly, genuine, attentive staff day and night. Even though the adjacent restaurant pub was closed for refurbishment the staff had gone out of their way to forewarn me and offer alternative accommodation. And at the £50 a night level offered this time Premier Inns are great, reliable places to stay. But at the ludicrous prices they have been trying to charge over the past 12 months they are way out of their league - we've cut our private and business use of P Inns by 90+% as a result. Nothing - everthing as expected.
Location convenient, room was clean, bed comfy, duvet excellent. Bathroom fan noisy, towels soft. Generally good. Unfortunately, the place for breakfast did not serve hot meals after 8.45, despite information stated breakfast was from 7-9am. Would recommend if this was sorted out. Cooked breakfast not available after 8.45am. Breakfast was stated as being available between 7 am and 9 am. Unfortunately, the place for breakfast did not serve hot meals after 8.45, although we had been informed breakfast was from 7-9am. Thankfully we hadn't paid in advance for it! We would therefore not recommend this place if expecting a full breakfast, which we were.
The hotel was convenient, as it was close to the venue (Haigh Hall) for the wedding we were attending, the receptionist was very helpfull . It was right next door to a very busy Petrol Station
the staff were brilliant especially gemma, she was helpful and kind as were the other members of staff
Excellent service, communication and facilities None
Close to motorway. Great breakfast. Average pub grub for an evening meal. Food very reasonably priced as were the drinks. Has anybody found how to get the £29.00 promotion. It always seems to be available somewhere else!!
Good value for money. Spotlessly clean. Very friendly staff - nothing too much trouble - very helpful arranging a taxi for us. Only one issue - the window was closed but we could still hear the traffic because of a slight gap in the fitting although it didnt affect the temperature of the room.
Friendly staff, Good pub serving food and drinks next door, good breakfast, great value, good size rooms and comfy beds.
No phone in room
Clean, not too far from football ground Price
Our stay was a plesent one and the hotel met our needs well
Location and usual premier inn quality.
Close by for the reason we visited to see family. and easy to get to from the Motor way
Nice staff, good location for where i needed to be Restaurant was not to my taste
room was large and clean shower facility was very poor, no pressure and very little water
Hotel staff were very friendly if a little too corporate. Rooms are clean spacious and everything you would expect from a Premier Inn. Wasn't too keen on the restaurant next door but breakfast was fine.
It was exceptionally quiet and the beds were comfortable. We had a great night's sleep.
location for area we needed to be in was very good. Staff were very helpful, the room was very clean excellent price. On the whole very happy with everything
Good staff clean rooms Bar to small
Convenient location with easy access to and from Motorway. Clean and comfortable room. Food at Tay Barns restaurant next door was acceptable but not great.Have stayed at Premier Inns with better Restaurant facilities.
The room was very good. Big, clean. Bed was very confy. Room was quiet. Hotel far away from town. You have to get a taxi everywhere or rent a car. No real restaurant available at the hotel to have a drink and chill but that will not put me off from staying there again next time I'm in Wigan.
Location rather souless. A bit like motorway services, you would not want to go outside the hotel for a walk.
The restaurant was awful. We waited 1.75 hours to get food, even though there were only a few people in the restaurant. I ordered Lancashire hotpot and got a few pieces of boiled broccoli with a small fried steak and 3 tiny thin strips of potato on top. This was not a hotpot of any kind. It was awful and we decided not even to attempt breakfast the next morning. All the guests in the restaurant were comparing notes and complaining.
Everything was at hand with great immaculate leisure facilities.Lift was great
Modern room, flat screen TV, nice carpetting. Cold, too modern reception area, large uninspiring cold empty feel to the `restaraunt`. Food was very poor. No atmosphere at all.
Good points were very pleasant hotel with excellent facilities
Exceptionally clean and cracking value for money. Not easy to walk to.
Excellent facilities for disabled people. Lack of staff, we had to wait for 1hour 15minutes for a drink and when we ordered food we had to wait 1hour 10minutes for it to be served and it came only after we complained. Some other diners sent their food back ,two other guests told us not to stay as the service was appalling. I had to go to reception to ask for a barman to serve us after dinner coffee and we had to wait almost 25 minutes. Not acceptable and we did make a formal complaint.
It was value for money with the rooms and staff excellent a good location with sports facilities very close by. On arrival at 17:00hrs the breakfast tray from the previous guest was still outside the room.
only had to stay one night, thank goodness. complaint on site had no effect, are you interested or not??????? bad drains and cold breakfast???? the bleach I was given by housekeeping had no effect, luckily I did not get any on my clothes!
very friendly staff, nice modern room, great rates. peoples food tray left for most of the day and night at there bedroom doors.
Excellent value, cleanliness and comfort of rooms and friendliness of staff in reception and restaurant. There was absolutely nothing that either we or our guests in the other room could find fault with during our stay.
Staff was very helpful and pleasent. We were upgraded to executive room just becuase there was wedding reception going on and hotel staff wanted us to avoid all the noise. That was good gesture. Food was aslo good which we ordered in room.
Service from staff
late times for check out, late food, late bar.
The staff were friendly and the rooms were extremely quiet with no noise from the corridor, neighbouring rooms or the motorway not far from the hotel. The only bad point was the e-mail I received from the hotel before we arrived which had information on the hotel and area. Unfortunately when looking for things to do in the area nothing actually comes up.
Noisy radiator in room woke me during sleep and could not be switched off. No hot water whatsoever in sink or shower
facilities, cleanliness and friendly staff. room well appointed The cleaner knocking at the door at 08.20 to see if she could clean the room on our leaving day - I wasn't even dressed!
Very nicely furnished and everywhere very clean and staff very professional Shower took a while to get hot ie 20 mins on sunday morning but when it was hot it was lovely.
Easy access off the M6. Good quality food.
The pleasant manner in which all the staff went about their business from the reception to the restarant and bedroom maids. There was absolutely nothing that could be faulted. We have stayed at all the "top" hotels in London and your service was at least as good as any of them.
Gym, Carvery. Advertised Large Screen Sports not working in bar. Man U V Chelsea!!!
Friendly, helpful staff - as usual. Room was very clean. We were supplied towels, but the room lacked soap/shampoo which had to be requested. The remote control for the tv didn't work, the remote itself was faulty, which got replaced. Also, one of the lights in the room was not working which we thought was a faulty bulb but after having the bulb replaced it transpired that the light itself is faulty.
Price No internet or WiFi connection in rooms
the fact that we were staying in a hotel where family and friends were the attitude and inexperience of the people on reception
Hotel is convenient, friendly and the restaurant offers good quality and value for money. Hotel is getting a bit worn. Rooms are always too hot and controls knobs on radiators are missing. Should offer a better bed and breakfast deal at weekends
pub, breakfast, large room person at front desk did not have much of a service oriented or helpful attitude.
the hotel is looking tired and needs to come into the 21st century, the rooms are a bit tatty and you feel like you have gone back to the 1990s when i booked in i was given my room , i opend the door to find that the room was already occupied, i told the reception staff and they appoilgised and gave me another romm, the room was overlooking a roundabout on the east lancashire road, so the traffic noise was unaccepable, i was given a upgrade to a suite, to call a room with 2 duble beds in a suite is a bit of a joke , within 2 mins of entering my suite i could hear the noise of crying children from the roon next door, this was my third room so i put up wth it , as children go to bed quite early , but i forgot that they wake early to, the next day i was like a zombie.
ease of access. cleanliness
I enjoyed my stay because I was with a gorgeous man Update the beds and the blankets to duvets
Big Room Was very noisy ( a stag do were staying the ame night as us) - would not for this reason use this hotel again
Very run-down & grubby. Staff apathetic and disinterested. Bar food utterly appalling.
Nothing The room was well below standard. The first room had stains on the chair and bedspread. We booked a no smoking room and was put in a smooking one which smelt stale. We were moved after complaining, however, the new room wasn't much better. We booked out the next morning.
everything was 1st class
The hotel staff were efficient and helpful, the evening meal was of a high standard and the rooms were very comfortable The breakfast although tasty was a little like a transport cafe breakfast too much on a small plate
Location and price. Hotel waslarge, but seemed rather empty, and had seen better days
Building, staff nd atmosphere and price rooms need decorating especially bathrooms. Food fair.
Expensive Internet connection. Noise from Motorway
The hotel had been recently renovated and is finished to a very high standard.... would recommend to anyone wishing to stay in/or around this area.
Interesting building, lovely grounds, room was comfortable and quiet Room was a bit shabby in some respects, especially the bathroom
Excellent staff. Clean modern hotel. Very comfortable bar/lounge area. Very comfortable beds. The bathrooms need refurbishment. They stand out after the major refurb everywhere else. They were still clean and fit for purpose though.
the food in the restaurant was superb
The bed was comfortable The TV did not work, the bathroom slanted away from you and was difficult to use the tub, no screens on the windows ( because there is no air conditioning, the windows are the only choice for ventilation).
The food was very well presented and delicious! The service was also very good and the bed was very comfy!!!
Set in a beautiful quiet location.
Comfortable, pleasant surroundings. We stayed because of a friends wedding. The staff the whole day were great. During the evening time of the wedding we found the security staff quite unpleasant & rude. I was also quite surprised to see security staff at a function like this in the middle of the week. They were quite intimidating hovering around constantly. It would put me off booking a function here if that whats to be expected in the evening!!
The room and people. The evening menu is not flexible and you have to pay for 2 courses even if you only have 1!
Staff were friendly Didn't offer room service. I also had a flat tyre in the morning which looks like it was done on purpose when examined by the garage. The tyres were brand new and otherwise perfect. Although this can happen anywhere, it was disappointing to think it might have been intentional.
The food was quite nice The bath was really oldfashioned and dimly lit
The staff were very friendly.
Most of the staff were friendly and helpful and we were given the key to our room earlier than check in, so we could get reading for the wedding. I had requested a cot for my 21months old daughter. Staff were unaware of this request and were not able to supply a cot as they run out, we had to bring a travel and cot and bedding with us from home. Also, staff said we had to pay for breakfast although this was included in the rate at the time of booking.
Friendly service and information provided to make our stay all the more a better experience. Nothing whatsoever.
Very frindly staff. No bar of soap only gel and handwash.
again no problems here, they are very obliging if you want the same room as last visit(s).
The couple that ran it were very hospitable
everything was very good
I really am struggling to find any. Secure parking, but that's about it. No bar. Hotel undergoing refurbishment, which was not mentioned on the web site. Very tired looking. Flaking and missing paint. Walls in poor condition. Carpets worn. Shower took ages to reach satisfactory temperature. Entrance door difficult to open. Steps made access difficult. Very small breakfast. Shared kettle, which could present problems should there have been several residents trying to make tea/coffee. Unpleasant dining area within the disused bar area. Gate to secure parking area could prove dangerous to unfit persons. Due to its location, traffic noise is horrendous. Everything looked old, dated and very tired. It may be worth mentioning that the 'hotel' is next to a crematorium and graveyard!
close to town centre
The hotel staff were very helpful and breakfast was good The shower was in a bad position - could have been laid out better - overall otel needs a make over very dated and in parts needed a good clean
Nice breakfast and staff were very friendly and helpful. clean warm rooms. it has everything you need! Outside weas having renovations so I was a little concerned when we pulled up but inside it was very clean and pleasent. it is an old building which adds to its charm.
