The staff is Great, the place is beautiful and many places to go near by. The only thing was that the sauna wasn't working.
We liked the fact that it kept us from sleeping on the street. We didn't like literally everything else - including how it felt like staying in the hotel from The Shining. Fairly sure someone was killed there before we arrived.
The hotel is quaint. The staff were very friendly. I loved the atmosphere. Also, I realy loved the fact it had a balcony and it was so pleasant having coffee out there and feeling the breeze from the sea in my face. The room and the bathroom needed a little upgrade. But, it served it's purpose and it was comfortable.
It wasn't cluttered with people, nice private oasis! Just a little fighting with the water in the shower between hot and cold, could have been a little bit easier.
Not comfortable beds or pillows, all footsteps of the floorsyou hear them, they gave anogher person a key for my room and he opened our room and we were in bed already. In the restaurant they didnt have the food I wanted that was in the menu
The rooms were always clean No hot water in 2 of the 3 rooms. No bottled water available One room had no towels on last night. One room had a non-working curling fan. No cable TV. No local broadcast channels. Beach had trash on it. Water not suitable for drinking. Cancellation policy was very strict. Biker bar very close to hotel. Loud bikes active well past midnight. Rooster active around 3AM Not business-traveler friendly. Very remote location.
It's good if your a golfer or gambler cause both are on premise Parking should be free and drinks at the lil lobby bar should be cheaper
Bed was comfortable. Showers were good (although a coworker had no hot water). Pool was excellent. Staff particularly management not responsive. Would not answer questions about my bill despite 3 left messages over a week. Number of questionable charges.A few room maintenance issues. Room thermostat was not adjustable. Noise insulation for teh room was poor (had trouble sleepiong over the weekend due to noise).
The staff was great, the housekeeping real good. The hot tub was poor. The beach area needed more attention. We asked for two queen size beds and got full size.
air conditioning would not cool sufficiently; hotel "engineer" came after our third call. he turned fan to higher speed which did nothing. turns out that when set below 70 the compressor shuts off; problem is that 70 (at least on the thermostat in our room) only cools the room to the high 70s.
The Caribe Playa Beach Resort on the South (Caribbean) side of the island in the middle of nowhere, and is like visiting a time warp from the ¿60's - In the best way. If you are looking for luxury, look elsewhere...for character, this it it! As above, it is in the middle of nowhere, and it takes a minimum of an hour and a half to drive to Puerto Rico's main tourist sites, but Paradise is where you find it, and the Caribe Playa Beach Resort will always be Puerto Rico to us.
The service...prompt and cleaned grounds. Front desk service always available provided excellent care. No
