Cons: "My name is Parag Mokashi, Indian Passport No. Z1788332 had booked 2 return air tickets from Singapore to Auckland with details as follows: Qantas Airways Flight QF6 - Depart Singapore Changi Apt, SG (SIN) 01Dec16 (Thu) 23:50 Arrive Sydney Kingsford Smith Apt, AU (SYD) 02Dec16 (Fri) 10:50 Flight QF145 - Depart Sydney Kingsford Smith Apt, AU (SYD) 02Dec16 (Fri) 11:55 Arrive Auckland International Apt, NZ (AKL) 02Dec16 (Fri) 17:10 Flight QF144 - Depart Auckland International Apt, NZ (AKL) 13Dec16 (Tue) 08:35 Arrive Sydney Kingsford Smith Apt, AU (SYD) 13Dec16 (Tue) 10:15 Flight QF81 - Depart Sydney Kingsford Smith Apt, AU (SYD) 13Dec16 (Tue) 11:15 Arrive Singapore Changi Apt, SG (SIN) 13Dec16 (Tue) 16:30 I had booked these tickets online through CheapTickets.sg on 17th September 2016. While booking the tickets mine and my wife’s full details such as the Name, Nationality and Passport were given. In spite of this nowhere was it mentioned in the Quantas terms and conditions or any prompt/popup given while booking the tickets that Australian transit visa is required for Indians since the flight is via Australian city. I had booked the tickets well in advance and had enough time to get transit visa had there been any information about it mentioned. On 1st December 2016 when we went to the Changi airport we were not allowed to board the plane as we did not have the Australian transit visa. We were told by Quantas personnel at the airport to go to the Australian embassy in Singapore to get the transit visa and that we would get it within a day. Next day we went to the embassy and found that the Australian visa is done by VFS global at a different address. When went there they informed us that Australian visa takes minimum 5 days. I had all my hotel bookings in New Zealand already done hence I had no choice to take a direct Singapore Auckland flight via Singapore Airlines at a very high price on the next day. I also lost one day of my hotel booking in Auckland and had to forfeit the money. I and my wife had to go through the psychological trauma of being refused to board the plane, then the next day running around the Australian embassy / VFS global office for trying to get the Australian transit visa and facing the uncertainty regarding our new Zealand trip which was planned well in advance for our 25th wedding anniversary"

Cons: "Crew was rude and discriminatory with Passports, for 18 hours stay layover I had to sit in chairs,. Not hotel or Lounge provided. Which is against international laws."
Pros: "Economy X was excellent value for getting 3 seats between 2, best I've ever slept in economy. Plane was late arriving before departure so boarding was late but we did leave and arrive on time. As I had an upset stomach the crew were nice enough to give me extra crackers and it was no hassle getting me herbal tea."
Cons: "Would be nice to have onboard entertainment included"
Cons: "Row 10 seats were extremely cramped. Seemed worse than usual. Was placed in middle seat and was unable to even read a magazine. Hostess saw how cramped I was and commented that I should purchase a x class fare, Perhaps virgin should ensure they supply adequate basic seating"
Cons: "In flight entertainment screens would not work properly"
Pros: "Larger plane."
Cons: "Stewards missed serving me twice. I pressed call button and was ignored. Kids meal and vegetarian preferences were ignored. Abu Dhabi made all Sydney passengers go through security including full cabin luggage checks twice. Abu Dhabi made me check in the duty free that I bought in Dublin. It was a connecting flight so why on earth was that something I had to do. I could not check in online, choose seats or update preferences. They sat my daughter separately and I was fobbed off in each airport and until Abu Dhabi where the cabin manager took so long I had to ask another passenger to swap. My son was sick as he walked off the ramp and I had to stand and direct people around the vomit for over 10 minutes while staff dragged their feet getting help. I will never fly Virgin with etihad again."
Pros: "Friendly crew who offered to make me a cup of tea and offered me refreshments whilst rest of passengers were asleep. Perfect and just what I needed :)"
Cons: "Tasteless unappetising vegetarian dinner, uncomfortable seats, no duty free shopping offered"
Pros: "6 years. I am old and have been cared for very well."
Pros: "Miss Rankin was on board with me. She traveled to the back of the plane to an empty seat next to me from seat 9F."
Cons: "Couldn't check-in from the kayak app..."
Pros: "Thanks Simone and team."
Cons: "Entertainment choices limited"
Pros: "Overall comfort of both plane and staff"
Cons: "The boarding had not started at the time due 22:25, I went to the rest room and on return the gate was closed for boarding. Staff advised they had commenced removing my luggage from the plane. The plane was still there but they would not let me board.! There was no call or final call or even a personal call with my name., staff said they were not required to do that. Then after pleading with no result, I requested my baggage. Staff sent me to baggage claim 2. There was no baggage, and by that time no Virgin Australia staff in the airport until 3pm the following day. I was stuck in a foreign airport, no luggage, no assistance at all from Virgin Australia to get my luggage, find accommodation, rebook a flight which resultingly cost US$900. I was distraught, the plane was still there and my luggage had not yet been removed and they refused me to board the flight!! The Virgin guy in charge was obnoxious and could not have cared less about my welfare, he personally accused me of swearing and I calmly reminded him I had not once used derogitorive language, that language was from another customer who was also refused to board. I question W that the flight was overbooked? This is not the airline Sir Richard Branson whom I have briefly met in Cairns airport promotes. Pitiful service.!!"
Pros: "Quick and efficient once we boarded"
Cons: "Seats small. One crew member had massive attitude Was getting very upset at Asians who kept trying to switch seats. She was, in my opinion, unprofessional with her comments and was taking it very personal."

Pros: "Economy X is fantastic, and really enjoy the boarding experience and the crew. left on time and arrived early. Excellent trip in that regard."
Cons: "Almost every time I travel on virgin, which is a lot. They serve a minim muesli bar. Come on Virgin what about changing that a bit. Qantas offer some really good options for not much more of a ticket price. This part of the Virgin Experience needs to change."
Pros: "The entire service is great I'd be happy to pay more for a flight with virgin then any other airline"
Cons: "Absolutely nothing!"
Pros: "Impeccable and attentive service More spacious seats"
Cons: "Crying babies during the entire flight, not that the flight could help it but wish there were more quiet areas for passengers without families"
Cons: "my seat got changed"
Pros: "Nice crew."
Cons: "I dislike having to use my personal mobile phone for in flight entertainment."
Pros: "Everyone was very helpful. On time. No problems at all.thank you."
Cons: "Only could have gluten free snack"
Pros: "I found my experience with Virgin very good. I don't fly too often. I am over 70 and found both the ground staff and on board so courteous and helpful. Would fly again with them. Take off and landings were so gentle which is something I fear, but they have inspired me to "take-off" and enjoy my life."
Pros: "The flight was very good."
Cons: "What I didn't like was having my flight changed from the original 7 pm to 5 hours earlier! It messed up our arrangements and meetings with others."
Cons: "Nothing really"
Cons: "Flight Canceled because they did not have a first officer that was within legal regulations to fly the leg. I had to stay the night in Adelaide, missing my morning appointment in Sydney and still pay for the hotel I booked in Sydney for that night. I had to pay for the cab back to the airport. I'm told I can go on line for refund as if I haven't already been inconvenience enough I have to deal with that. To add insult to injury my aisle seat was changed to a middle."
Pros: "....rather than the Spirit Air of Australia, Jetstar. Free bag check and snack, better seats."
Pros: "Plane an easy boarding process. Attendant was very helpful when processing our baggage with an interrupting phone we jad to take."
Pros: "on-board entertainment"
Pros: "The price."

Pros: "Kept us informed of progress, snacks and drinks, upgrade to extra legroom at no charge"
Pros: "The whole service"
Pros: "It was the usual type of flight, no dramas, lovely crew, and fair price."
Cons: "Vegetarian option and hot food very important especially for elderly people."
Pros: "Seating was ok and staff friendly"
Cons: "No entertainment or even papers on a 2 hour flight. Refreshment menu is pretty awful and expensive."
Pros: "On time departure"
Cons: "Beef dish was mainly rice with insufficient meat or gravy to flavour the rice and there were no vegetables. Entertainment selection was of little choice with documentaries that were not only unsuitable for children but in my opinion unsatisfactory for adults."
Pros: "I could stay in Sydney."
Cons: "Poor communication"
Pros: "Professional service"
Cons: "Food was not very appetising"
Pros: "Fantastic service!"
Cons: "Delay was not appreciated with a fidgety 2 year old"

Pros: "Reached Sydney, eventually"
Cons: "Hour late. Crowded plane, cramped. No service. Poor communication about delays."
Pros: "the crew was amazing"
Cons: "the seats were uncomfortable"
Cons: "I cannot believe that when I put the table down I could not move & at 80 kg I was by no means the biggest person on that plane!!!!!"
Pros: "Friendly staff"
Cons: "The flight was delayed which caused us to miss the last shuttle bus for the car hire company - we had to catch a cab instead - luckily the car hire company reimbursed us for the cab fare, even though it wasn't their fault."
Pros: "Overall great experience"
Pros: "I liked the organisation"
Cons: "The food"
Pros: "Long flight but staff attentive"
Cons: "Baggage at Sydney was extremely slow coming almost an hour !"
Pros: "Overall experience very good"
Cons: "All goid"
Pros: "The flight was on time"
Cons: "The rear of the plane was filled with screaming babies, loud uncontrolled children kicking the seats in front of them (mine). Equally loud mothers baby-talked continuously to their offending offspring with no effect. Cabin staff made no attempt to control the noise levels. I recognize some of these small children could have been suffering ear pain from the cabin pressure changes but trained cabin staff could have offered remedies for this. It does not explain the continuous screaming at cruising altitude. I recognize that JETSTAR is an intentionally cheap and nasty airline. I reluctantly took this flight because there was no quality service (like QANTAS) at the time I required. I accept the lack of amenities offered by REAL airlines like complimentary food, drink, entertainment and healthy legroom are the cost of cheap travel but I would have happily paid a higher price for QANTAS had there been a flight. I will not fly JETSTAR again and if no alternative exists with QANTAS, I will choose another airline in spite of my long allegiance to QANTAS CC: QANTAS"
Cons: "Child behind sitting on floor banging seat and loud devices being used with no ear phones so couldn’t rest"
Pros: "I wasn’t able to select a seat and was assigned a middle seat, but the service desk agent at ADL moved me to an aisle seat without charge. Food was reasonable value and tasty, if cold (who refrigerates a muffin?!)"
Cons: "Usual Jetstar pain having to call to add extra luggage (qantas booking) and then curiously Jetstar telling me to ring qantas for an updated itinerary"
Cons: "They lost half of our pushchair and it took 5 days of endless phone calls for them to agree to replace it"
Pros: "Italy a okay flight"
Cons: "Don't have WiFi connection"
Pros: "Getting to destination"
Cons: "Didn't get the food i ordered. Not even close. Entertainment choices very low. No value for extra cost. Staff would not deal with passengers congregating in aisle for majority of journey."
Pros: "Great staff"
Cons: "Delayed departure"
Pros: "cost effective, good flight."
Cons: "Only one problem was the temperature was too warm during flight."
Pros: "kylie the ground staff for Jetstar was brilliant"
Pros: "The plane was not full plenty of room to move to a better seat with a window."
Cons: "No entertainment so was a bit boring plus why pay for seats when they move you to a different anyway."
Cons: "The carry-on baggage policy is ridiculously unfair and they don't tell you about the 7kg carry-on restriction at the desk but charge you 50 dollars at the gate when you don't have any other options but pay before you miss the flight"
Cons: "Food was horrendous and staff service was poor considering we were in business."
Pros: "Jetstar is a comparatively budget airline owned by Qantas. We were in Business class from Honolulu to Sydney and that's a well timed flight considering it takes a little over 10 hours, leaving Honolulu at 8:30am and arriving in Sydney at 3:00pm. We normally fly Qantas business for international flights but in this case it's almost double the cost. Jetstar Business doesn't have lie flat beds, it provides wide and comfortable seats and they don't recline very far, but as this particular flight is completely in daylight hours it doesn't matter too much. We will always choose this particular flight because of the combination of timing and cost, so well done Jetstar."
Pros: "Boarding was good and check in!"
Cons: "Dont have any entertainement and dont have usb to charge cellphones!"
Pros: "Smooth transition for daughter who needed assistance to board"
Cons: "Having to sit apart especially when there were vacant seats"
Pros: "Almost everything"
Cons: "Lack of room when seated"
Cons: "Return journey of our flight was moved so disrupted our onward flights. Getting in touch with customer services was impossible. Only way is to 'live chat' then they tell you their hands are tied and to speak to the 'refunds team' who don't have a number and will 'be in touch with you'. They won't be. Then outbound flight was cancelled at the last minute. Waiting for a refund........and waiting. If it's a choice between jet star or swimming to your next destination, swim."
Cons: "Was charged 50$ at check in at airport for luggage. It was a carry on size they said it was over weight had flown with same items on several different airlines, Quantas, American, and virgin no one else stop me. If this is how they get the ticket cheap, just state that upfront. So I know and am not surprised at airport."
Cons: "Flight was cancelled at the last minute. Jetstar doesn't have a customer service line you can call so it was very difficult to re-book. The chat was clunky and not compatable with mobile phone. Then they couldn't refund the extra fees I had paid for assigned seats - that is a "different chat site" though I was reassigned a Quantas ticket and given tickets that had us split up on that flight. They couldn't give me a booking number or anything like that for the Quantas flight either. I will just save the hassle and fly with Quantas next time. Unimpressed with JetStar and their customer service was terrible. Still out the refund money and frankly it is worth it not to have to deal with them again."
Pros: "it was on time..."
Cons: "charging for entertainment...no blankets for an overnight 6hour long flight... customer service is just the worse I've seen on an airline. Don't get me started on the baggage allowance surcharges... Still found one very friendly staff at the Sydney Airport though, there is still hope. Get on it Jetstar, get on it."
Pros: "On checking in, they charged us a penalty fee, and then our flight got cancelled at the last minute without any options to get back to the city in time for work. Had to book a last minute flight with a different airline and couldn't get luggage back in time to take it along!"
Pros: "Have flown with jet star and I always have a great flight and I really enjoy how amazing the flight crew always are. Will continue to choose Jetstar for my domestic flights."
Pros: "We had to change our flight and were still able to get a good flight and seats"
Cons: "Paying for food and drink"
Cons: "I obviously purchased my tickets too fast. I missed the hidden check-in option online which is a UX recommendation I have for Jetstar, to make this more visible (particularly on international flight selection). This was my fault, but being charged $160 at the airport to check a 9kg bag in made me feel I was being ripped off and left a sour taste in my mouth towards the Jetstar brand. I'll never fly with them again. Even movies and water needed to be purchased on the flight."
Pros: "Very convenient."
Cons: "Very uncomfortable seats"
Pros: "Nobody told i couldnt bring luggage had to pay extranfee"
Pros: "On time both ways"
Cons: "Paying extra for food and only use credit card not cash Paying extra for entertainment Extra for baggage & seating all these extra costs make the cheaper flight not so cheap!"
Pros: "It was quiet. Quick and comfortable waiting for our flight. I enjoyed the meat pie, coffee and service while waiting. I was aloud to have a nap. Felt refreshed. Kayak gave me a great price. I saved $400 for my family flights all up."
Cons: "The flight was delayed by an hour but it was an accumulation of air conjestion towards the later flights. Overall we were able to charge our phones and get comfortable before flying."
Pros: "The smooth takeoff and landing, the staff cortesies"
Cons: "The 5min wait but perfect otherwise"
Cons: "We booked through Kayak and weren't told that when you book a flight with Jetstar, you get NO BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE. ZERO, ZIP, NIL. We didn't know this and assumed like other Australian and New Zealand carriers, we would each get one free bag, so I went online and paid $25 for a third bag. When we checked in for a domestic flight, we were told that we would have to pay $400 to send our luggage with us. THAT WAS MORE THAN WE PAID FOR OUR SEATS! We were also told that had we paid for our luggage ahead of time, it would have only been $60. Be very careful if you fly this airline. Make sure you know what is and what is not included with your ticket, especially if you use a third party to purchase your tickets. PS - All drinks (including coffee, tea, soda, etc.)are extra. Frankly, I'm surprised they don't charge for using the toilet in flight"
Cons: "On time"
Cons: "plane was half hour late leaving because JetStar does not allow enough time for turn arounds from plane arriving from elsewhere. That said, the pilot did do his best to catch up for lost time once in the air."
Pros: "On time flight"
Pros: "That we landed"
Cons: "They offered to forward my baggage to my final destination and it got delayed for 4 days."
Cons: "The flight was delayed then check in staff were rude"
