From the moment I walked into the airport in Chicago to the moment I was walking off the plane in Florida I had an unforgettable experience! I was traveling with my 3 month old by myself and everyone just made sure I was taken care of. I couldn’t thank them enough!

Flight was full. Flight crew was chippy and acted like they didn't want to be there. Lady at the boarding gate was same way.

My only real issue was that when I booked this flight through Kayak, I somehow booked via BudgetAir.com (though I was on your website.) Due to this, I was unable to access boarding passes coming or going via the Kayak app, or the Allegient app. Luckily I was able to print them prior to leaving home (and the resort printed them for on the way back), but using this site is definitely something I'll have to consider for my trip. I should have been able to access boarding passes electronically via the app regardless.

So I cancelled and only then did I find out that once I booked it through their site I could not get a refund for the car and I could only get a voucher for use on one of their flights! And only after they take out any fees and costs that was accrued! So angry!"

Cons: "It was myself, my wife, and our 18 month old son. The trip was a complete disaster. The first delay was from 12 noon to 7:30 pm because the plane was unavailable. We left the airport and returned at 6 pm for the 7:30 pm departure. The plane was "available." We checked our bags, found our way to the gate, and eventually boarded "ontime." Instead of taking off, however, we sat on board the plane at the gate for 2 hours as work was being done. The work was first called "maintenance," then "a small error code." The captain teased us by saying "folks, just a few more minutes and we should be departing." The crew nourished us with a dixie sized cups of water and Chex mix. Then finally the airline gave up and deplaned everyone. Once deplaned, it was explained to us that they couldn't clear the error code, so they couldn't use that plane. But there was another plane coming from Las Vegas to use so that we could expect a departure around 12 midnight. 12 midnight rolls around. Nothing. 12:30 am. 1 am. Finally, a plane arrives. But then the airline holds us up yet again - turns out we can't depart after all because the arriving airport shuts down at 2 am. Gee, they didn't know that before making us wait another 3 hours??? Now they're offering a refund to anybody who wants one, as well as a hotel for the night and the promise of a flight at 2:30 pm the following day. At this point, many of us are looking up alternative flights to Eugene and even Portland. A $1,000 extra for us. We're not sure whether we can trust Allegiant to have an actual plane ready to go the next day. And we're too tired at that point to even ask why the next flight would be at 2:30 pm rather than first thing in the morning. So finally we line up to get a hotel voucher and find our way to the hotel. It takes over an hour to checkin at the hotel because it's the middle of the night and 150 people just showed up to checkin. We finally get to our room at about 3:30 am. I'm amazed at how well our toddler held up sitting on an airplane for 2 hours, sitting at the airport for about 6 hours, and waiting to fall asleep all night. We eventually made it back to the airport the following afternoon and, praise the lord, made it to our destination. Allegiant - NEVER AGAIN!"

Cheaper or soft-sided luggage would have experienced damage to the contents. Unfortunately, I did not check the luggage before leaving the airport to file a complaint."

I understand safety is important but unless the plane is in middle of taking off or landing, or horrible turbulence anyone should be able to use the bathroom. We had landed and were just sitting and waiting on a gate to open. My fellow travler happened to be on her period n was told No she could not use the bathroom. After the 3rd time of her being sent back I got up with her and a tampon in hand n told the staff they had no choice she was using that bathroom. Of course they had to phone the captain and ask for permission which he ok it, but seriously , what are we supposed to do just sit in our blood. That was not cool."

They charge you to print out your boarding pass. They don't even send the boarding pass through email, you have to download the app. Overall horrible customer service. When call for customer service you can't even get a human representative. I missed my flight and they didn't even have another flight to to accommodate me to get to my destination and no one at the front desk to talk to."

Cons: "There was no entertainment available on this flight. It's a short flight so I don't expect any, however, I continued on to Phoenix that day from Chicago and that is a long flight. I expected free entertainment on that flight, as it was afforded on the flight on the Phoenix to Chicago leg of my flights earlier in the week. The Chicago to Phoenix had entertainment offered but it there was a fee, which I didn't appreciate and did not take part in. I looked around me as much as possible and didn't see anyone else pay for entertainment. Having in flight movies and TV available for feee is a great incentive for flying with United. If these long flights in the future are pay for view, I will not be flying with you when there are alternative carriers who do provide free entertainment. Thank you."

I felt like third class boarder on the Titanic. United has become less than a Greyhound bus. They will NEVER be my first choice again! It was HORRIFIC I will go to ANY other airlines before them. P.S. the service at the Houston counter were rude and awful except for Ms. Edwards"

When boarding I watched orhers board with the same size bag as mine, and wondered if telling someone you can't hear gives them the right to inform you at the gate that your bag needs to be checked?"

Flight crew spent most of their time in the back of the plane on their personal devices and talking amongst themselves. The app was the only thing that helped me understand what was going on during the constant time and gait changes throughout the day."
Cons: "This airline is terrible. First we were told that the flight would be delayed 1 hour and 40 minutes. We were supposed to leave at 2139 from IAH to PHX. They changed the departure to 2309 due to "mechanical failure" of one of the aircrafts. We were told a plane was coming and that we were just waiting for another flight to Albuquerque that was delayed before us to leave the gait. Long after that first delayed flight left passengers for PHX were delayed 3 more times which ended in the final tenative departure time being 0145. We were told at 0115 to sit tight and wait because the plane was now here but the crew was still in route. Shortly after this promise, the crew showed up and everything seemed to be ready for us to board. Another 30 minutes went by and they announced that the flight was cancelled. United airlines had used up over 4 hours of changing gaits and times only to end up cancelling the entire flight. They did not offer any explanation for this nor were they the least sympathetic to the travelers who have all paid to be on that flight. The customer service was disgraceful and did not offer any type of help on reimbursement, hotel, cabs, or compensation for this."

Cons: "Upon the flight arriving in Asheville, an announcement was made that one of the flight attendants had "bumped her wrist" on the flight and she needed to get it examined before we could board. An hour later, an announcement was made that they were calling in their backup flight attendant who was on vacation. Two hours after that, we were told the flight was being delayed by 20 hours, and we would be put into a hotel room for the night. After another two hours of waiting in line, a voucher for a hotel was issued, along with two $7 vouchers to be spent on food- only food that could be purchased in the airport. Upon arriving by shuttle to the hotel, we found out the hotel did not know we were arriving, and it was another 2 hours until we finally were able to be checked into the hotel. The airline offered no apology, were incredibly rude throughout the process, and did not provide adequate updates in what was going on. In all, I wound up loosing a lot of money for additional parking time at the airport, food costs, transportation costs, and loss of wages from missing an entire extra day of work."
Pros: "Smooth flight after 20-min delay on tarmac at LAX (not the airline's fault). Captain did very well to make up the time and got us to gate on schedule. Only one working restroom went far better than expected and whole flight crew seemed very attentive."
Cons: "Poor selection for food choices (gas station options at triple the price), but we had packed snacks and made do. No entertainment to speak of, but we had audiobooks on our phones. Upcharges for baggage were outrageous (an extra $100 for two 20-lb bags), but at least they got it all on the carousel fairly quickly once we arrived, thanks to TPA ground crew. Still, don't ever book a Spirit flight thinking you're done paying once you've purchased the ticket--that charge is only the beginning. Bags, seats, boarding time, food--it's all extra."
Pros: "Spirit is supposed to be discounted travel and many people paid very little for their flight - I foolishly paid a premium for my flights in July nobless thinking the cost would only increase toward Christmas. Then add the bags $31 each bag each way. Then add seats $17 each seat each way. Suffice it to say NOW I know. Additionally, you have to pay for drinks and the seats don't recline - rough at 6am. The flight crew was LOVELY, the takenoff and landing despite heavy snow was amazing. My ignorance is my only real complaint."

Cons: "On my trip to Atlanta, I paid 52.00 for my luggage to ride because I was told i needed a ticket after telling the representative my luggage fit inside the sample boxes. After paying I get to the flight gate and i see people with luggage bigger than mine. I asked how much did it cost to bring it on and they told me it is free for one piece of luggage. So on my way back to Tampa I didn't mention anything about a bag and it was free. I feel the representative should have told me it was free to take it on."

Cons: "The flight's departure from CAK was delayed by an hour without any stated reason. We didn't find out why until during the flight to MYR. The flight attendants could at least give the pretense of being happy. Some are downright crusty. The Spirit Airlines website is a mess. I didn't pay ahead of time for a seat reservation and when checking the day before the flight, I was randomly assigned one near the back of the plane. At that time, it was showing that all other seats were reserved. I then added a carry-on piece of luggage and paid for it online. Then when I printed my boarding pass, I was assigned a different seat more near to the front. How was this other seat available when just before the site was showing that all other seats on the plane were reserved. The website is slow and it lacks transparency (honesty)."

It was supposed to depart Detroit at 7:31am, we all had to get up at 4:30am to get ready and drive to the airport and it traveling with a 14 months old alone. So we get to the airport only to find out the flight has been delayed! They kept pushing it back further and it ended up being 2 hours delayed due to the fact they were 1 flight attendant short. My toddler was not happy having to sit at the airport for 3+ hours, never mind the fact she also had to get up at 5am. We sat at the last row and seats were very narrow and no leg room. We had to listen to the loud engine the entire time and strong smell of fuel during landing. My baby's ear hurt during landing and cried. I'm very unsatisfied with the flying experience with Spirit. Oh, our first flight was also delayed, from Tampa to Detroit, over 3 hours delayed! I don't think I'll be flying with sprirt again."

Pros: "Had cup noodle on the plane, though it was the most expensive cup noodle I've ever had ($3.50), it was very tasty and satisfied my hunger. Bathroom in the back of the plane was one of the cleanest I've seen on a plane."
Cons: "We were told to get ready for landing and we could see that the plane was getting really close to the ground. It seemed like we were just inches above ground, when suddenly the plane went straight up in the air like a rocket. No one knew what was going on and why we did that. We went up pretty high, above clouds again. The pilot nor flight attendants informed us of anything and 15 minutes after circling around in the sky, the pilot informed us while stammering that we had to dodge a thunderstorm or strong winds. Then another 15 minutes of silence (from the crew) we finally touched down after tons of turbulence. It was the most traumatic experience for me and my family. Everyone on the plane clapped for joy when we finally landed. I don't know if we would want to fly with Spirit any time soon."

Cons: "This was my first time flying with Spirit, after hearing several negative comments about the company. It was an overall trrrible experience beginning with not being able to check in via mobile (paper tickets are outdated), followed by not being able to use my TSA Pre (had to wait in line for almost an hour when I've spent money so I don't have to). There was a malfunction with the plane where all passengers were removed after boarding. Flight was delayed by 2+ hours. There were other factors, but at this point they're not even worth mentioning. Never again!"

Cons: "We were held on the gate for an hour while we were told that the delay was due to an armrest covering coming off which was presenting a safety hazard. Meanwhile 4 technicians with small component screwdrivers came in and out of the cockpit OBVIOUSLY working on the avionics. This bold faced lie by the flight attendant not only caused distrust and unrest at the front of the cabin but they all sat around joking and hiding from the several hundred passengers that were becoming concearned and uncomfortable. This was a 10:30 flight from Miami to Tampa and we landed closer to 1:30 am after being lied to so we would not disembark costing the airline $$, and holding us for more than an hour promising we were just waiting on paperwork. Finally the captain said, as the passengers got more vocal that there was a problem with a system and that was the delay. After an hour!!!"

Cons: "There is not one thing to like about spirit, we have now travel twice with them. The first time was not good but it's only fare to give them a second chance. In fact the cabin manger on the flight home was so rude and controlling I thought he mite of been a dictator I strongly advise every body that flys with them to look carefully at what they charge and what they do before u book your flight."
Cons: "Nothing is complimentary, all snacks and drinks for purchase are inexcusably expensive when other companies provide for free, hefty fee for checked bags and carry-on 40-50$ paid to and from which makes up the difference for their cheap flights (not much cheaper than JetBlue or American) my luggage was left in the city I was visiting and when I asked for a refund for my returning checked bag fee, I was denied because I paid cash at check-in and it wasn't on my reservation (obviously I had paid to have it flown because it was supposed to go on board). All in all terrible experience and not worth the 25$ travel voucher I received--which doesn't even cover cost of luggage 1-way--because I'll honestly never fly spirit again."

When I got to ticketing there was only one spirit airline employee, who informed me that the flight departed at 11:30 pm and there was nothing she could do. I basically donated 8 hours of my time plus the cost of the ticket to Spirit airlines and now still have to find my own way home. I will never use the company again."

Cons: "Sat on tarmac for an extended amount of time with no air conditioning. Crew was rude. Flight said it was only going to be delayed 37 minutes. It was delayed much longer than that. This made it difficult to coordinate my transportation after departing the plane."
Pros: "The flight attendants salvaged the experience. I think weather delayed the flight, but the info provided before getting on the plane just made it seem like the pilots just weren't there. Couple that with discussion about how often Spirit is not on time a lot, led to a frustrating experience. Finish that off with boarding onto a plane that wasn't running, a/c was off and pilots still weren't there. Flight attendants jumped on it. Apologized for the inconvenience multiple times, kept everyone updated on efforts to get a/c started, passed out water, very friendly. Kudos also to the pilots who came in from Vegas and were supposed to be done for the day. They got on our plane and flew us to Tampa. I would guess that they didn't have to do that and if they had not, we may have been further delayed. I generally fly Delta. Had the on board experience not been what it was, I would be a one & done flyer with your airline. I will try you again based on the actions of those mentioned above."

There was no communication from the airline when our flight was cancelled. Then the customer service on the phone was horrible and they offered no additional compensation for our time wasted. Cons: "Spirit Airlines is perhaps the worst commercial airline out there, I'm surprised you list them on Kayak. From carry on fee, to no TSA precheck, or the worst of all, zero priority at the airport and the distinct possibility that your flight will be cancelled while all other airlines takeoff on time, I did everything I could do to get out of my ticket. On my way to the airport I called Spirit to ask why I couldn't enter my known traveler number but quickly hung up when I was warned that connecting with one of their personnel would cost me $25 - great customer service. After pleading with the ticketing agent in Atlanta I was lucky enough to be refunded the ticket price ($35+) and the bag fee ($45), and run to the Delta desk to buy a $360 one way ticket (worth every penny). I would love for Kayak to cover the difference in fare that I had to pay due in order to avoid the nightmare/death trap that I learned Spirit is, but at a minimum I feel Kayak should refund me the $9+ that they pocketed from this flight I was fortunate enough to avoid."
Cons: "They cancelled my flight due to "weather" while every other airline was flying in and out of IAH. They offered to get me to my destination on the day I was to return or my $200 back. I booked early so I could get a better deal. At the time of my refund tickets were $1000 each. Ruined my bachelor party weekend and the trips of the other 6 people that were traveling for the occasion. Will never fly or recommend Spirit airline again! Worst experience I have ever had and would gladly pay regular fares from a reputable airline in the future. It is just not worth it."

Pros: "The entire process was flawless. Plane was extremely clean, flight attendants very nice, even funny and mocking themselves a bit considering Spirit charges for EVERYTHING! The key to flying Spirit and not getting hit with large additional charges is to understand whats expected of you as far as baggage. Get this right and the rest of the experience is better than any other airline Ive had the displeasure of flying over the past 15 years. Apparently all passengers on this flight were well aware of the baggage limitations as boarding and exiting the plane once in Tampa went VERY quickly and rather than passengers getting bent out of shape during this process everyone was smiling! Havent seen this...ever!"

So after waiting for over four hours for my flight that was repeatedly delayed once we finally boarded the plane and got comfortable in our seats, the flight attendant started to sing Beyoncé song "Formation" over the intercom repeatedly; therefore, no one was able to get any rest or peace and quiet due to such unprofessional behavior. Now don't get me wrong I love to have fun but after spending hours in the airport and having to take such a late flight the last thing I wanted to hear was a song sung by the flight attendant."
