The airline did not announce this until we were scheduled to start boarding. We had to go to a different gate and wait nearly two more hours for our flight to depart."

Pros: "I was arriving only 45 minutes prior to departure time. Not able to check in my luggage. AA ticketing agent allowed me to bring my garment bag through security and to be checked in at the gate. Thank you very much!"

I overheard crew say it was entirely avoidable, and the fault of some crew that weren't at the right place on time"

Cons: "Plane was unbelievably hot the entire flight. Air vents did not cool the plane at all. We were all sweating the entire time."

Cons: "I went to the airport. I was told a 3hr delay. I only live 10 mins to the airport. So I went back home to only receive a notification that the flight has departed after 45 mins. I am now stuck here since that was the last flight back. The earliest flight available is next day at 12pm which means I am going to miss work and I have been on hold with AA customer service exactly for 3 hrs now and still holding."

Cons: "No charging outlets on seat ( this something pretty standard on most planes now). The flight was delayed because of the plane had a problem with the tire. The passenger next to me had a broken tray with tape around it. The bathroom had a broken sink."

Cons: "Price tag to travel within the country was more expensive than transatlantic flights despite leaving from a major hub. Wouldn’t allow carry lbs either. If you’re going to fly basic economy, might as well just do spirit and save several hundred dollars."

Cons: "The plane was incredibly hot and humid while we were on the ground. The stewardess told us we had a broken APU but would not tell us what that is or if it was actually a problem. Someone pressed the call button during the flight but the stewardess couldn't be bothered to get up and the call light stayed on the whole flight. Eventually the plane cooled some once we were airborne but stayed too warm. It got very hot once again when we landed."

Cons: "Tiny plane, old. No leg space at all (I'm 5.5). Our connection before this flight was a 1 hour flight on a modern very spacious airplane, we wished we could've flown on the same plane for the 6+ flight to Paris."

Cons: "The check in process at JFK was a disaster. The kiosk check in machines were constantly malfunctioning, where to line up was unclear, and staff acted frustrated. After several failed attempts with the kiosks you have to wait in line to check in at the counter anyways. It would have saved almost an hour of my time to just go straight to the counter-- had I been allowed to. I wanted to check a bag which contained some fragile items. Several bottles of wine which I wrapped in bubble wrap and cushioned with my packed clothes. I requested a "Fragile" sticker to be put on my bag. I was told "We don't do that here". So I asked if they handle ALL bags with extreme care and I was laughed at and told to go on my way. When I got my bag at my destination-- the outside of my leather suitcase was sliced to the lining. There were scuff marks and torn leather. My wine had been completely shattered. Not just a crack in the bottle, but flattened completely. My clothes were stained, my bag ruined. I don't know if putting a fragile sticker on would have prevented this, but I don't understand why they just "don't do that". We are trusting our property to the airline when we check bags. I will never trust American Airlines ever again. They don't want to know if I have anything fragile, and they don't care when I tell them."

Pros: "1. Let me check in online but NOT my wife ... we are both Advantage Gold & TSA pre .... wasted 2 hours on the phone with idiots in their Manila call center 2. An ancient plane, cramped seating, wretched food. 3. An hour late departing JFK & arriving CDG so right in the middle of Paris rush hour !!"

Cons: "Denied boarding by gate agent. 5 min past mandatory one hour cut off from boarding. We had been standing in line for agent for 30 minutes. Two customers flying with little dogs delaying the movement of line. Flight was subsequently delayed by 2 hours and 10 min. More than enough time to allow us to board under 1 hour regulation. I booked LATAM instead of AA based on reputation, very upsetting experience for us."
