Flight was delayed by one hour, then another 1/2 hour then cancelled and changed till the next day. We were not allowed to get our luggage & put up in a dirty hotel. I had cockroaches in the bathroom. When I finally arrived home…i noticed the airline had damaged the zipper on my suitcase.
Pros: "The airplane remained in the air."
Cons: "The crew went 8 hours without food or beverage service. When asked for water, they directed us to a shared (COVID!) bottle of water near the bathroom. Terrible service and in fact, dangerous."

Only toilet in economy class was cloughed up and was not functional therefore a very disgraceful situation, they sent me to the other toilet in 1st class area and there I notice several blankets on empty seats after I was told there weren’t any spare blankets."

Cons: "It may be La Guardia Airport that is the one to blame and not AA, but long story short I was on the airplane on the ground in NY for about 5 hours. We had a domino effect of things happen that caused us to be delayed and then cancelled. First a Gate change to a different terminal after boarding was suppose to begin so we had to take a shuttle over and we're still missing 50 passengers, Engine problem that required maintenance, refuel because we were in the plane on the ground waiting for so long, deplane and replane for 10 mins because of a law, on the runway and back to the gate for all these different occasions. When they finally let us off the plane after all these hours it was because of weather (although the skies were blue and the pilot was confident it wouldn't be an issue) they didn't actually cancel the flight until 5pm, my flight was suppose to take off at 9am. They were also required by law to give us free snacks Bc we hadn't eaten all day or had fresh air--these were all chips and soda...in gluten free so I had to starve. AA customer relations said they couldn't compensate because the issue that was documented in their records for my flight cancellation was because of "weather"... my flight couldn't be rescheduled until the following afternoon, making me have to cancel work 2 days in a row and pay for multiple taxis and and extra night of boarding. I will NEVER fly AA or La Guardia again."

Cons: "There was no entertainment. The airline did not offer a complimentary headphones, and failr sure the wifi was not even working. Also was not that big of a fan with the extra long layover. Was not a fan of the extra time in the holding pattern above Indianapolis, nor the extra time 150 feet from the gate after we landed."

When the gate I was waiting at finally showed the flight information to Toledo, I had to find what gate I my flight was now on and had fifteen minutes to make it to the correct gate. Had the original gate displayed the new information any later I would have missed my flight."

My seat was broken and wouldn't recline. This was my first trip flying, and on the trip to Miami I flew with Delta. The service with them was tremendously better. I was really disappointed."

So hence the Comfort was great on this flight. But the tool needs to make it much more clear as to what you are selecting the upgrade for. Food, there has got to be something else out there other than pretzels, I understand why we do not have peanuts, but a little bit more variety would be very nice. I understand there's a cost tractor, but often pretzels tend to be fairly stale. Short flights entertainment."
Pros: "I missed my flight due to LA traffic. American Airlines was very accommodating. They put me at ease and helped reach my destination. I wasn't treated like it was my fault. They totally understood and were very compassionate. Thank you."

I had planned for up to 3 hours of issues (delays, traffic, luggage issues, etc.) and it was still not enough to allow me to make my meeting on time. Additionally, the in-flight entertainment system linked to my seat was defective and only provided sound in one ear."
Pros: "They seemed like a good airline. It was my first time flying with them, and I got upgraded to business class on the very first flight of my trip. What a great first impression! They're quite service oriented, with attendants speaking multiple languages. The in-flight magazine was good but not available on every plane. The food was usually pretty good, and the live map was convenient."
Cons: "All of the flights were late (I had 6 of them on this trip, all thru Air Canada, and not a single one departed on time). All of my layovers were long, except one, which was planned to be about an hour but ended up being less than 30min. That one was a pain: had to go through Canadian customs and then run across the Toronto airport, but thankfully my next flight was still boarding - and ended up running late because they had to de-ice the plane. One of the flights ran late, and as we were reaching the gate a passenger felt the need to yell racist/ignorant comments at a fellow passenger who wouldn't sit down, and then the flight attendant - overall that was a real shame."
Pros: "Compared to the flight going the other way, this one was much more comfortable. I didn't have someone's seat back in my face the whole time, and was able to enjoy games on my own device. I like that both USB and normal power options were available, so I was able to play games and charge my phone so I could use it after landing. The food was passable as well, which was surprising."
Cons: "It's unavoidable when flying between multi-lingual locations, but having movies and stuff pause three times for each announcement gets annoying. The rolls served with the meals were very dry. These are small nits, and the flight was generally enjoyable."
Cons: "The flight was delayed twice causing us to miss our connecting flight to Copenhagen. Air Canada then put us on a flight to London and then connecting to Copenhagen we arrived at 4 PM instead of 10AM ."

I fly Air Canada as seldom as possible because there's almost always something that complicates the trip. Our daughter booked these flights so we could visit her for Mothers Day."

Cons: "Where do I start? Maybe by saying that I'm really not a complainer. I'm really not. I know there are understandable, although not always pleasant, occurences and situations that cause or contribute to things. But this shuttle flight was a disaster of poor airline planning. The 1.5 hour flight kept getting delayed again and again and again. The assigned gate got changed 4 times and we found ourselves having to walk with our bags from one to another. It finally took off at 12:30 at night with an ORIGINAL departure time of either 8:40 or thereabouts. You're talking about a 4 hour delay. Weather? Raining, but nothing that was serious. It was just, well, raining. No explanation was ever given for the delay although, uhh, complimentary bags of pretzels were handed out. I felt bad for the ground and flight crew. They had to deal with us less-than-pleased passengers and, really, the delay was beyond their control. Which leads me to believe poor scheduling by Air Canada of available planes was a reason. It was all very, very bad and, given a previous flight 10 days ago that took 5 hours instead of the scheduled 1.5, we'll never use Air Canada again."
Cons: "My girlfriend and I booked our flights about 10 months in advance and had selected seats next to each other for all of our Air Canada Flights. Somehow all of these seats were changed without an update to us. We did not sit together at all on any of our flights and were put in middle seats, which is not what we originally requested. We were both very upset with this as some of these were long flights."
Pros: "Crew from Venice to Toronto was good, but crew Toronto to Denver was uncaring. She would rather sit in the back and knit rather than help out a cramped passenger in the last row who couldn't even sit forward because the passenger in front on me reclined into my lap. The Lat seat doesn't recline so I was forced to sit sideways, feet in aisle while people heading to the bathroom head to step over me. She did nothing to help."
Cons: "Stewart from Toronto to Denver could care less about my comfort. Being in the last seat, unable to recline, I had the passenger in front of me recline into my lap and refused to adjust his seat. She ignored the situation and went in the back behind her curtain to knit while I sat sideways the entire flight with my feet in the aisle. People going to the bathroom were forced to step over my feet, but at least they were sympathetic"

Cons: "My flight, 370 was canceled. Initially, one of the AC staff at customer service was overwhelmed and impatient. The next flight was delayed by about seven hours. My baggage didn't arrive in Toronto. I found it extremely difficult to learn where the baggage could be, spent hours on hold with Air Canada and then Dynamex, and waited four days to receive my bag. I was with about 100 people at a summer camp. The staff created a funny skit about AC, Dynamex (sp?) and the endless "your call is important to us" tape recording. I understand that flight plans must be canceled and changed due to weather, but AC relies too heavily on automated "service.""
Pros: "Really enoyed the personal entertainment system. 12 hours is a long flight and the entertainment really helped pass the time away. It was fun seeing the flight status on the monitor and watching movies. We were fed very well. I believe we had 3 meals and a snack. Attendants came by to see if we needed more to drink too."
Cons: "It was a huge plane with about 500 people on board. Not a lot of space for getting up an walking much. Not a lot of space between seat rows. I guess that's just the way things are. Had a huge issue with checked baggage [see below] but don't know which airline was at fault although the AIr Canada employee who checked our baggage in Washington, DC said we wouldn't see our bags again until we arrived at Hirochima, our final destination."
Cons: "We lost our connection by 20min because of waiting at customs were placed on the next available flight, bourded and them waited for over an hour inside the plane for a couple of customers that where stuck at customs."
Pros: "Staff was professional and courteous. The staff was helpful but were too busy dealing with the full plane load of passengers."
Cons: "Crowded middle seat that was uncomfortable to sit in. Sat next to severely overweight person, who needed two seas to be comfortable. I was squished. The seat belt was tangled up and I could not fix it to adjust it. Bell to call flight attendant was not working. The middle light bulb was burnt out. Took my book to read on this long flight but could not read. just sat in the dark when the lights went out. Boarding the plane seemed like planned chaos! No one (passengers) listened to instructions and these were poor given by those responsible to oversee the boarding the plane. Fight was delayed for half an hour with people coming on at such late time. Had to change seats to accommodate others - family with children. Dealing with disembarkation should be better and much too long. Those with connecting flights should leave first and can be identified earlier to prevent cheating. Those with children should be next. Those in the aisle seats then leave, followed by those in the middle and window seats. Loading the plane after the business class or first class should be according to seat number from the back of the plane to the front. this completely random boarding boarding clogs up the aisle with passengers and luggage. I was using w/c help but was passed from one person to another, was left at gate with no help to get to another gate or anything. I had suitcase, bag AND a w/c to manage by myself. Difficult to get to bathroom let alone try to get anything to eat or drink( so I didn't). Delays x3. Staff didn't know what was going on. (Other flights also) couldn't hear announcements."

This was really a bad situation for me as I was meeting my daughter in Toronto who was flying alone with her infant son and she needed my help."

Cons: "The monitor showed delay after delay--finally at 2 1/2 hours--and no one ever made any announcement. Customer service desks were closing and there was no agents at the gate. Customers did not get any information about why they were leaving at 23:25 rather than 20:55. Finally one agent started to fill us in but no announcements in gate area. This was a really unpleasant delay situation. We needed a lot more information and gate agents to help out. I will strongly try to avoid Air Canada in the future. Overall two thumbs down on the experience."
