There was a delay leaving Aruba that made me rush to my connecting flight from Atlanta to Charlottesville. Refueling is a normal part of air travel and for it to take so long seemed odd. I am not sure if that was the airlines fault or the airports fault. Other then that the trip went smooth
The seat back entertainment screen didn’t work at my seat. Staff was great.
Pros: "We flew from Anchorage to Boston via Seattle. If there had not been a delay in Anchorage, the flight would have been excellent. However, there was a mechanical problem earlier in the day with a plane to Cincinnati. Our flight was scheduled to leave Anchorage at 4pm, but Delta decided to take our pane from us and use it as a substitute for the original but nonfunctional Cincinatti plane. A ridiculous decision. The Cincinnati people already had missed all their connections, but now all the Seattle people missed theirs as well. When we finally got to Seattle 3 hours late (just before midnight), the desk agent said that Delta had no hotel rooms for us and also no hotel vouchers. We thus had to find a room and pay for it on our own. The next day, we had been rescheduled to Detroit and then on another flight from there to Boston. The flight to Detroit arrived nearly 30 minutes late, and we just barely made our connection. Had we missed it, we would have had to spend that night in Detroit. Delta did its best to keep the two of us together. On the Seattle-Detroit flight we were on opposite sides of the aisle in the same row, but that was in a row right behind a bulkhead, making it easy for us to walk over to each other. On the Detroit-Boston flight we were next to each other. Both flights were completely full, so Delta must have made some effort to keep us together as well as possible."

I am quite disillusioned with Delta now and will have to look around to see what other airlines there are now - and my entire family - and what kind of loyalty they give to their loyal customers. The rating for the crew is a 2 because although my flight attendants were awesome, but the service given to me and to my fellow flyers by the Customer Service Agents/Reps at the front desk and the training of a newbie at the gate, when boarding at the Anchorage, Alaska, airport was terrible. They were extremely unprofessional and did not seem to care that the tones of their voices, their facial expressions, as well as their body language, showed that they lacked the manners and knowledge of compassion, respect and courtesy. Their rotten attitudes were insufficient at making the customers/guests of the airlines feel comfortable before flying. I did not appreciate being spoken to the way some of the reps did."

I am tall with big shoulders, the gentleman next to me was large. All that I ask is the attendant come back after all is settled and explain that it wasn't possible to move things around. Although, if there were seats available I should have been offered a different seat. I have flown a lot on different airlines. I've flown on a 15 hour flight overseas. This is BY FAR the most uncomfortable I have EVER been."

Two of my flights were cancelled last minute with little to no remorse, and I had to wait 2 days to catch the next flight. That flight was even delayed more than an hour. I was sick by time I reached my destination. Overall, United would not be my 1st choice due to bad experiences numerous times."

Total incompetence. Moreover, United has made profit so obviously more important than client comfort. The seats were similar to a straight back Dining room chair except with your knees in your chest. They even took away the seat back pouch as a smal comfort to place items to be replaced with an 8 inch high mesh that fits nothing larger than your cell phone. A 6 hour flight and 1 drink service with 1/2 glass of soda. Pay $7.99 only to find out that video does not work through Canada which was the majority of the flight"

Crew admitted in latest redesign of planes they've managed to squeeze another six seats in coach. My seat wouldn't go back but even if it did, would feel too guilty for person behind to do it - so little legroom on newer planes. They've also cut down on restrooms so for most of the flight there was a line of 5-6 people waiting in the aisle. American Airlines seems to have older planes but at least decent legroom (and I'm not tall - anybody over 5'10 would have to sit at an angle on new United planes!). Been very impressed by Delta's service lately. United feels more like Spirit"

Cons: "They canceled my flight, lost my luggage made me miss events in my life on my vacation and only comped me 20$ food ticket which is nothing in an airport. And I was stuck in an unfamiliar airport for 10 hours waiting for a new flight through another airline. Oh and dod I mention the bag they lost for a whole day was 50lbs of fresh Alaskan seafood and yes it all was thawed.... I will never fly United airlines again."
Cons: "They delayed the flight due to "operational difficulties". I understand this happens, however, their communication towards customers was unacceptable. They first announced a 20 min delay, followed by another 30 min, then 30 more and then 30 more than then 30 more! They basically kept us at the gate for 2 1/2 hours until the found another plane. For a business like United, and flying out of their hub this is completely unacceptable. We ended up leaving at 11pm for a flight scheduled at 8. They didnt give anything in the plane to make up for it. No food, no free wifi, nothing."

Cons: "First of all it was delayed, no big deal but once i checked in I wasn't even assigned a seat. I try to find an agent at the boarding gate and none to be found. They finally arrive 30 min before take off and then assign me a middle seat when I specifically picked my seat weeks earlier and of course was one of the last people to board barely enough time to search for a place for my bag and get to my middle seat in the back of the aircraft. Not even a sorry or any type of compensation for a terrible experience"

Cons: "United has squeezed its Economy class customers into seats that are tolerable only for the shortest. If I were an inch or so taller, I would have found the space intolerable. As it was, my knees were against the seat in front. For a flight as long as this one (over 5 hours from Anchorage to Denver), it was uncomfortable to say the least. The middle of the plane was nearly empty, because United charges $75 per seat for an upgrade. For the round-trip for two of us, that would have added $300 to our bill. The fact that so few are willing to pay the upgrade fee indicates that the increment is too large."

Spirit is the worst airline ever. The flight are cheap, but their per-bag charges are astronomical (they even charge for carry-ons!), and they limit your bags to 40 lbs instead on the regular 50 lbs all other airlines allow. Their seats are thinly padded and uncomfortable, there is no in-flight entertainment and they don’t offer you anything during the flight, not even water. Once you add the cost of bags and the uncomfortable flight, it’s not worth traveling with them, unless it’s a short flight and all you need is a personal item like a backpack.

Cons: "They didn't have a 1st officer present and could not get a hold of him. Instead of telling all the passengers, they decided to let us board and made us wait forever before they finally told us we didn't have a 1st officer. After all this they told us to get off the plane and they would let us know when to board again. Finally after the flight had been delayed almost 2 hours, the 1st officer arrived, we boarded and were on our way."

Cons: "Spirit Airlines offers low fares but then uses slight policy differences to charge extra fees. They reduced the size of carry on to an impractical size. I have never had a problem with my carry on, but it would not fit into their criteria, so I had to pay extra. The charge was not based on fitting in the luggage compartment it was just an extra charge for size. First bag $50 and second $60. They charge extra for a bag weight over 40 lbs when the majority of the airlines allow 50 lbs. You're only allowed one item to take on the plane, not a personal item plus a carry on. They charged for water on the plane. I do not recommend flighting Spirit and will not be a repeat customer."

All other airlines include these taxes/fees in their ticket prices. Please factor in an additional 100 bucks for any Spirit prices once additional taxes and landing fees, baggage fees, seat costs, etc. also remember they wont even give you a free soda or 1 peanut on the flight."

I fly southwest and delta often and their staff is happy, helpful, delighted to be of service. while your fares are low, it's only 100$ more to fly better. and you coverup charges like departure taxes that are included with other fares in other airlines, so, hence, the fees, add up so quickly, it's become easier and more cost effective --even-- for the budget travelor to fly other airlines. we need friendly people in airlines. folks who love their jobs and treat each other respect. you can do a whole lot better Spirit airlines. really. everyone is becoming disgusted with your service."

Cons: "It cost money to carry on a bag! If it had been a small amount... $10-$15 or so, we would have shrugged it off, since the ticket price was lower than other airlines. However, to carry on a bag, it cost $53. To check a bag, it cost $50!! So no matter what, you are spending AT LEAST $50 more EACH WAY! If you were planning on carrying on a bag and checking, then you're really screwed. We were not informed of this when purchasing tickets. The airline hits you with it at check-in, so you really have no choice. Also, on the flight, there was no complimentary drinks. This doesn't bother me at all when it's a short flight, but for a flight that is over three hours, I feel it's the least they can do to offer a beverage. What also made the flight uncomfortable was that the seats did not recline, and the "tray table" was simply decoration. So even if I had decided to purchase a beverage, I would have no where to set it down because the tray table had no place for a cup. It was not big enough to even place a book or laptop on. It was a four hour flight, so I was planning on reading and working on my computer, but that did not end up happening. I would never use Spirit again. It was only $40 or so less than other airlines, and that is DEFINITELY NOT worth it."

When we arrived the lines were out of the door and we had to stand outside with no shade in 90 degree heat for half an hour until the line finally led us inside. We flew with Spirit two years ago to Mexico and experienced exactly the same issues. We thought this might have been a one off and so gave them another try this year. Never again. There are never enough agents at the desk and $50.00 per bag is ridiculous. For three of us, $300.00, OUTRAGOUS! I looked for lines at other airline desks and there were none. Don't be pulled in by the prospect of a cheaper flight. By the time you have taken into consideration all the extra charges for luggage, checking in online and selecting your seats, one of the most expensive carriers in the airline business. Seats don't recline and no padding!"

Cons: "The ticket counters are a fiasco. I was charged several times for baggage. The attendant at the ticket counter refused to look at my receipt, just telling me to repay at the kiosk. We missed our connection, along with hundreds of other Spirit fliers. EVERYONE I talked with downed Spirit, indicating you wear poor customer service like a badge of honor. I spent an inordinate amount of extra money for my "inexpensive" flight. I am so utterly disappointed."

Cons: "Waiting to check in was horrible, stood in line for one hour,..someone was heated clearing missed his flight another couple missed flight. Why does it takes so long to reroute your guest. There were 10 or so agents way down the other in and am excorted in a line with three agents.. then one goes on break. Then a supervisor clearly upset, everyone giving her hugs..darn it all you are busy. then two guys who look like IT people start working on the computers..Man!"
Cons: "This was a terrible flight experience with awful customer service. I was scheduled for flight 498, Houston to San Jose. This flight was cancelled after sitting around for 3 hours due to a flight attendant not showing up. This was deemed as uncontrollable, which I have no idea how your staff members mishap is not controllable. We then had to drive 4 hours North to Dallas to catch flight 972 at 6 AM, which was also delayed. We had to go to Dallas because there was no other Houston flight until Saturday night. Once in Ft. Lauderdale, we boarded and de-boarded our flight, due to a pilots flight hours being over the limit. This is deemed controllable. I don't understand how two similar situations are deemed controllable and un-controllable. I lost money on hotels, time, taxi's, and gas. Spirit owes everyone of this flight a voucher for the future."

Pros: "The best part of this flight is that the boarding agent switched my seat at the last minute. I had been talking with a gentleman inline and we were getting along fabulously. When it came time to board, I told him it was nice talking but we were on opposite sides of the plane. The woman taking our tickets said "Let me fix that". I usually fly a different airline and prefer that other airline in every other way, but THIS was the best case of customer service I have ever received from any airline personnel."
