FAQs - booking Italy flights

  • Can I travel with my pet through AUS?

For now, dogs and cats can only travel as cargo in airplanes, where you must book with the airline's freight division and drop them off at the cargo terminal on the day of travel. You may also prefer to use a pet transportation company. There are two outdoor dog parks on the eastern side of the airport near the baggage claim carousels and the ground level outside the main terminal. Your dog may relieve himself here if you have a waste bag for solid waste. If not, the pet relief area is across the street from the baggage claim area near the car rental area.

  • Where can I rent a car at AUS?

There are ten rental car companies at AUS. The Rental Cars facility is located in the airport's parking garage, across the street from the main terminal's baggage claim area. When coming from the upper level of the main terminal, use the pedestrian walkway and from the south terminal, take a bus from the arrivals area to the rental car facility in the garage. At the garage, take an elevator to Level 3, where there will be Rental Car signs.

  • Are there lounges at FCO, and what amenities do they have?

If you would like to get some work done or relax away from the bustle of crowded airport areas, many FCO lounges offer access to travelers regardless of their flight class or airline. You will pay a one-time fee that will grant you access to unlimited food and drinks, internet connectivity, comfortable seating, and a TV. An example of such a lounge is the Premium Plaza Lounge located in Terminal 3 on the Upper Level of area E, Airside.

  • Where can I sleep at FCO?

If the prospect of having to sleep on a chair or the cold hard airport floor does not sound very inviting, there are several airport hotels you can sleep in at FCO. Hello Sky is one such hotel located in front of Terminals 1 and 3, connected by a covered walkway. It has a lounge, showers, meeting rooms, and air rooms with a bed, a private bathroom, and a shower. You can rent a room overnight or for day use for 3h or 6h time slots.

  • How does KAYAK find such low prices on flights from Austin to Italy?

KAYAK is a travel search engine. That means we look across the web to find the best prices we can find for our users. With over 2 billion flight queries processed yearly, we are able to display a variety of prices and options on flights from Austin to Italy.

  • How does KAYAK's flight Price Forecast tool help me choose the right time to buy my flight ticket from Austin to Italy?

  • What is the Hacker Fare option on flights from Austin to Italy?

Hacker Fares allow you to combine one-way tickets in order to save you money over a traditional round-trip ticket. You could then fly from Austin to Italy with an airline and back with another airline.

  • What is KAYAK's "flexible dates" feature and why should I care when looking for a flight from Austin to Italy?

Sometimes travel dates aren't set in stone. If your preferred travel dates have some wiggle room, flexible dates will show you all the options when flying from Austin to Italy up to 3 days before/after your preferred dates. You can then pick the flights that suit you best.

  • We recommend that you arrive at AUS at least 2h before your scheduled departure time, ensuring you have enough time to get dropped off or park your car, check your bags and get through security to your gates in good time.
  • You can charge your phone for free at restaurants in the airport, including Moka, located on the arrivals level of Terminal 1, the Mercedes-Benz Café between Gates B10 and B12, and the Burger Federation, between Gates C08 and C16.

I truly love flying with Delta. They have always treated me with the upmost respect

Our flight attendant in FIRST CLASS was one of the worst I’ve ever had. She was not at all pleasant, nor particularly good at her service.

Everything went well and was good. Nothing exceptional, but no complaints either. Cheap seats are pretty comfortable.

Staff were friendly and happy. Delta could make sure passengers that don't have the app know of changes. Without Kayak I would not have known about the change of gate or the delay. Kayak was faster to notify me.

They ended up paying for the bag twice, but the counter wouldn't take my baggage receipt. Left it to me to resolve. Not sure how to resolve the issue.

The customer service before board was very rude and when I expressed my concerns about making the connecting flight she laughed and told me I bought the wrong ticket. I explained once it showed the flight was delayed it no longer let me change seats or anything. I was trying to upgrade to make sure I would get to the next gate on time.

Non stop on long haul is the way to go. Great experience

The aircraft interior is old and tired on this aircraft. The entertainment system never worked despite the crews attempt to reset the system.

The flight used a B767 with a very old interior from before 2014. The entertainment system did not work at all during the flight despite attempts to reset the system. It was like they flew this route just to be competitive.

Old plane and old configuration/seats but still comfortable for a morning flight

Lately I like the planes have been exceptionally filthy. There’s lines of dust and dirt all across the ceiling in the vents, and the cracks in between the seats are literally full of food. It’s definitely not the quality of service that I was used to with United. I’m also very disappointed with the Wi-Fi! All I wanna do is knock out a few work jobs while I’m trapped in my seat And it spools so bad. They did provide me with a refund, but the process of getting that refund is so complicated. It’s unfortunate.

Crew was excellent. This was a relatively long flight though and had very little leg room, and no entertainment.

The newer screen was super cool and had the option to watch many different shows or movies. Crew was polite and helpful. However again, many children screaming bloody murder and kicking my seat, and parents doing nothing about it as usual.

Flight was good and crew was super polite. However, there were around 5 kids screaming the WHOLE 2 hours. I understand kids have to come but parents need to do something to control their children. They make the experience terrible, especially after finishing 16 hour shifts at the hospital I needed some sleep, which I did not get.

Plane was crowded and even when we hit altitude, the plane was hot, not enough air flow.

Flight was delayed and missed my connection Lufthansa didn’t respond.

the delay for 3 hours was understandable due to weather conditions but the flight should’ve provided some on flight compensations or at least provide more food.

United could have one single once of customer service. No human United employee would help me with the invalid mileage plus number, they said I had to speak with the computer.

A little bit more leg room in premium economy. I am 6’4”.

Overall it was good. I missed my connection but I was put on another flight.

Wish some foods provided rather than just biscuit/cookie for flight more than 2 hours

Flight was delayed leaving Dallas. Arrived about 2 hours later than scheduled.

The only thing to like was that we eventually got to our destination

Poor seat in rear of aircraft Food at Admiral’s Club Terminal D at DFW inedible

After we landed we sat on the tarmac for 1.5 hours waiting to get to our gate. Ridiculous.

We were delayed for a “couple of maintenance issues.” They were resolved rather quickly but a computer glitch caused someone in the airport to have to bring a physical copy of the paperwork so we could leave. I don’t know where they had to drive from to get to our plane but it took forever & we were 1 1/2 hrs late in leaving. The flight itself was fine.

We didn't take off until an hour after we boarded.

The flight was fine. This survey is not. There is no option for N/A so items which don’t apply to my experience still must be rated. In those instances I give a “3” rating which ultimately skews the results.

The actual trip was fine, however, the changes made to our flights and the layovers were had to endure were awful.

Flight from Dallas to OKC was good, but my trip was interrupted due to a delayed flight from Austin to DFW, which happens all the time. I frequently miss my connection from DFW and American can never seem to make this work!

I booked extra leg room, due to seat neighbor i now consider extra shoulder and arm room as well. Seems like the seats shrink in width now The crew was very friendly and professional ( 100%). Food was good not great, breakfast was bad, a dry slice of bread would have been better. Facilities clean.

Luggage transfer in Chicago was not performed in time. I received my luggage at my destination two days later.

love the crews and my only problem was the delay at Frankfurt was very bad. I have travelled with Lufthansa for over 30 years now and this was cost me some planned business appointment

The flight delay made the connection a bit tight but that's outside the flight crew's control.

I liked the crews attentiveness, all food and drink items were tasty, and came out in a timely manner. The entertainment systems were not as responsive and my seat had issues with the auxiliary for the headphones. Seats were OK, and the headrest for my seat could go back only so far. Bathrooms were tight fit.

The United Airlines crew that operated this flight was subpar. They didn’t

Boarding and flight update was fantastic as I experienced about a 10-15 delayed for both flights. The food served onboard was great; the service of the flight attendants was excellent.

Complete mess. Our reservation was mistakenly cancelled. After almost missing the connection and walking all over the Munich airport, the Service desk got involved and we were run to our flight. Not all 4 of us in Business and not seated together as originally booked. This was the worst treatment I have ever had. And I travel a lot. 1K million miler.

Actual flight was smooth but we were delayed 70 minutes. Were promised to make it up to us but were given no refreshments

Did not fly HOU to SAT as flight was cancelled.

Super tight economy class. My knees were hitting the back of seat in front of me (I'm only 5'6"). My small backpack (sized according to their required dimensions) would not fit under the seat in front of me because there is a box (is that the life jacket?) in the way. Over all, extremely uncomfortable. I forgive the tasteless food, but the tight seating was torture

Didn’t fly with them as someone had cancelled my flight

Some how my flight was canceled, neither BA or Justfly.com accepted responsibility. I only found out about this the day before when I tried to check in. I had to book another flight which due to the time ( day before) cost me $300 more. I was still receiving notifications about the flight even when I was on another flight from you. So no my flight to London was not good.

The space is tight. Either you sit straight up the whole time, but the minute you relax, your knees hit the back of the seat in front of you. My seat would not recline so I was quite uncomfortable. Didn’t use my tray table bc it was stained and sticky and nasty. I was also seating in one of the last rows and one crew member and people going to the bathroom kept hitting my elbow resting on the armrest.

Boarding market okay just because of the delay we had, but not related to the crew in any way…

Very crowded, no real explanation of food "chicken or pasta?" After dinner no drinks service. Plane was clean, but little help with finding soaces fir luggage to get into overhead bins. Many passengers putting 2 bags, hats, duty free in overhead bins so no space for roll ons

The airline was efficient and accommodating to work with though there was a delay. Appreciate the service and smooth experience!

bad, made it to connecting flight and they didnt let me board

We were never able to take this flight because our first flight from Austin to Dallas was cancelled.

Our flight was cancelled on Sunday morning. We were supposed to take a short flight to Dallas from Austin, then a nonstop to Barcelona. We were rerouted from Austin to Miami on American Airlines due to storms we sat at the gate for 2 1/2 hours, pilot announced we needed fuel. In air pilot said we were rerouted to Fort Myers 30 minutes from Zmiami. Sat on tarmac waiting for a gate. Deplaned at 10:09. Pilot gave conflicting info about what to do. Missed Miami flight to Barcelona. Pilot announced crew was timed out and we would have to wait for a new crew. Waited a couple of hours. Got to Miami at 2:30 am. Gate agents at Fort Myers told us to go to D30 for hotel vouchers. No one was there. So we slept a little on the floor. Husband is 80 and I am 74. Rerouted to JFK at 9:54 am on Monday, then flight to Barcelona at 5 pm. We arrived in Barcelona a day late and missed the first night of our Oceania Marina cruise. We feel that we are due a lot of compensation for this trip from hell.
