They wouldn't allow you to use them even in airplane mode for some reason, despite most other airlines worldwide allowing airplane mode throughout the entire flight."
Cons: "The service upon arriving to the airport was absolutely atrocious. We attempted to check in and the woman behind the counter gave us a huge problem. When I booked, I must have put the ticket under Susie instead of Susanne and despite showing her my passport she said I was going to be charged 800 baht to fix my name. It took two separate supervisors for them to realize that the passport number I booked with was in fact the same passport number I was presenting to them. I also wanted to check a piece of luggage and had to go to a different counter, waiting on another line to pay for the luggage. Not one person explained that upon landing in Bangkok for my layover that I would need to take my luggage off of the carousel and then repeat the process I did at the Chiang Mai Airport. It baffles me that they have no organization because prior to getting up to the counter, 4 people were clearly unhappy with the customer service. I would not recommend this airline company to anyone, in fact I would advise that people wouldn’t use it."

Cons: "First of all the flight was delayed, it's OK it happens. What we didn't like was having the boarder time be delayed on top of the delayed flight. Then we we finally arrived at our destination we had to wait for 10 minutes for a second set of busses to arrive. Then once we get into a building we have to walk up a flight of stairs with our suit cases. I was traveling with my 72 year old mother. Not impressed. It's one thing to delay flights it's another to make your passengers go through hoops to get to their destination."

If AsiAsia are going to keep to this 7kg hardline they really need to do it across all airports and do it during the document check so the number of queues costumers are subjected to are minimized. I did purchase extra weight when purchasing the ticket however that weight MUST be in checked bags only. No margin here for discussion. Perhaps HotSeat passengers are less scrutinized??? This all may be just some transitional pains here and other airlines may follow the same model but in my 200+ flights on Nok Air this has NEVER happened. In fact, they (Nok) have NEVER weighed my carry on bag. Such a shame as the rest of the flight experience was above average. This hardline approach will be an issue if they continue until they beat their customers into taking or leaving it in my opinion. First AirAsia flight for me so the vets reading this will be smiling quietly to themselves ;-)"

If you don't check in 4 hours in advance and you have an extra suitcase, they charge you by the kilogram and it is ridiculously expensive. More than he cost of the entire flight! And if your flight has multiple legs, you have to pay for the extra luggage every single leg."

If you have longer legs expect them to hit the tray table even when it's in its full upright position."

We didn't purchase our bags from before hand so they took advantage and over charged us to check these bags in. I will never fly with this air line again. I would not suggest anyone to fly with them."

Cons: "I paid $144 USD to check 2 bags because Kayak give me the option of including checked bags (I thought it was already included) and didn't inform me of the need to pay for checked luggage ahead of time to avoid high fees."

Cons: "I did not use the flight because I accidentally purchased the flight going the wrong direction. Immediately upon pressing the purchase button I realized my mistake and attempted to fix it only to find out that even though I purchased through Kayak, Air Asia would be responsible for all customer service. Upon finally getting a hold of them after several hours of frustration I was told that not only was there no way to cancel it, I could not even use the price paid as a credit for the opposite route regardless of the fact that I was attempting to rectify this seconds after purchasing. I expected to be using Kayak as a point of customer service and was the only reason I went the route I did to purchase the ticket."

Cons: "Absolutely no leg room. I'm 5'9 so I know I'm tall, but I manage on normal flights perfectly fine. The seats lean forward so in the upright position you feel as if you are falling forward. Terrible comfort but it was only an hour flight so I survived. Anything longer than the hour from Phuket to Phi Phi, I would never fly this airline. Like I said, you get what you pay for."

Cons: "Had to pay $36US for each checked bag for each segment of the trip. So for two of us with a stopover enroute to Chaing Mai, had to pay $144US. Will never fly Air Asia again. And I will be wary of using Kayak, as we were not sufficiently warned other than - Airlines may charge extra for baggage."
Cons: "I booked for luggage and there was no record in the airline of it, so I had to pay again"
