Pros: "I was surprised with the quality of gluten free meals served for me, it was well organised and taken care of where I never had to wait. My flight schedules were changed few days before departure by Qatar Airways, but only thing I had to do was to confirm that I have noted, my seats and all the rest of details intact, excellent."
Cons: "I was not given any option regarding the change of my departure flight from Colombo. Originally it was scheduled for 13th 3.25AM and it was brought forward to 12th night 20.20. This caused inconvenience to me and my family to wait 7 hours for the connecting flight to Johannesburg from Doha. When the flight is changed by airline for their convenience, they would have given preferential treatment to the passengers involved. We had to bare the cost of food and make us comfortable on our own due to the delay in transit."

Cons: "Checking in, they asked for certain number of miles to upgrade. I offered it. Then at the last minute they came and said their system didn't accept American moles. For a daily if their system, they denied service to passenger. This is the second time with them. Last time when another airline missed connection and this time a ticket that I purchased. Doubt if I would, again."

Cons: "It took several hours to check in because the incoming plane from Doha to Bali was delayed, which guaranteed that most of us missed our connections in Doha. The line was long, slow and uncomfortable and the airline did little to ease our discomfort. They refused to allow us use of the lounge in Bali. I had to talk to multiple people in Doha for access to the Oryx lounge there and they at the end, reluctantly let me use it."

Pros: "Flights out of and to Philadelphia cuts out the whole traveling to and from NY or DC. This is a big plus for me since I live in Delaware."

Cons: "Both my flights were delayed, Jhb to Shanghai to Osaka on 22nd March and my return flight from Tokyo to Doha and Johannesburg on 1st April. My baggage was also not available when arriving in Osaka and had to wait 2 days for it."

Cons: "7am flight from Baltimore to LAX. How late in the morning does it have to be to get a cup of coffee? No beverages were offered until approximately 3 hours into the flight. No free snacks or purchasable snack options were offered. UNITED PRIVATE SCREENING WAS TERRIBLE!! Neither my companion nor I were able to watch any program or movie without constant freezing and buffering on our 1 year old iPads. It took me 2 1/2 hours to watch a 90 minute movies. Pathetic. Not ready for prime time."

Pros: "It went very well considering the route was stormy. Yes, it was a bit “rough” at times but not too much. Shows the great skills of the pilot & besides he made us aware of the storms & possibility of the ride."

Cons: "I feel that I was treated by the employees at the boarding desk and by the customer service attendants as if I were garbage!!!! I was attempting to purchase an upgrade in my seating to avoid very uncomfortable swelling on my right ankle and other personal reasons. As I inquired with the man at the boarding gate about purchasing the upgrade I was told that there were none available. So I pulled out my tablet with the united airlines app and showed him the image of the empty business class seat that I would like to purchase on the seating map available in the app. He told me that he had no option on his computer screen to sell me the seat. I asked him where could I go or who could I ask to get the seat. This back and forth continued for some time where he kept saying he could not sell me the seat but I would then say, “I understand that, but do you know who can or where I can go to find someone who knows where I can buy an upgrade?” The attendant got VERY VERY upset that I was even ASKING. As if I were asking for some OUTRAGEOUS request!! I asked to speak with the manager several times. He continued by ignoring me and just saying NO! Finally he pointed to some lady beside him. I don't know if she was the manager or not, but she was on the phone and barely gave ten seconds of a glance to the situation. He asked me"Are you gonna go or not?" I could tell that he cared absolutely nothing about me or my request and was extremely dismissive in asking me this. Finally, he dismissively told me to ask the flight attendant. I could tell that this young man would be of no further help AT ALL, so I gave my ticket, went on board and thought to just try and ask a flight attendant. Right before I went to give my ticket to the man who was taking tickets, I heard the boarding gate man walk away mumbling how ANNOYING I was in Chinese. I know this because I SPEAK Chinese. This is HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL!! I continued to go on board hoping the flight attendants might actually have some information. When I asked, who I thought was the flight attendant, about purchasing a seat, it turns out that she was the customer service agent on the flight, she gave no effort to even try to hear what I was communicating to her. I know about communication and as a public speaking instructor, I know how to listen and to speak. She continued to raise her voice and talk over me, although I remained very calm and tried talking to her logically. I tried to communicate to her that I was attempting to purchase one of the empty business class seats that I had seen were empty. I checked the seating of the flight from the united airlines app before I had even boarded the plane. The lady continued to be very rude and uncaring. She talked over me, did not listen, her responses did not make sense, she very loudly kept asking me " CAN YOU UNDERSTAND THAT??" as if I was a child or as if I was confrontational when I absolutely was not. I noticed I had been trying to communicate for a while.wordlimit"

And after all that, my bag did not make it on my connecting flight- or maybe it did but you guys texted me it didn't via your little app- and I had to go back for it mysef the next day becuase you would not deliver it or help me find it. wanted to be compensated for my long and horrible ordeal."

Pros: "I liked that when the plane actually arrived to newark that the boarding was swift. The pilot and flight crew were good."
Cons: "The plane was late. I flew out of Detroit because it was cheaper than flying out of Cleveland where I live. So due to this flight being late I had to pay more then expected to get my car out of the parking garage and got home an hour and a half later than expected which got me home at 3am versus 130am (original time I would have been home IF the plane would have been on time)."

Food was salty and I requested water and I was ignored. I finally raised my voice and start asking their names because I would write a complain. Tha started all hassle for me. Long story short, I was demanded to identify if I held Chinese or US passport... I have written a letter to United CEO. I got reply that I would get a reply in 24-48 hours. I'm waiting. My second leg was two hours delay from Chicago to Boston."

Pros: "It was great. Absolutely no complaints"

Cons: "The crew members were not very happy and were snappy in their replies. The seating is ridiculously small, you cannot access the carry one baggage under the seat if the person in front of you puts their seat back. The food was better this time than the flight to Beijing, still not great. I also need to add that the original flight from Chicago to Beijing had a 7 hour delay which was ridiculous, especially when traveling so far. No food vouchers were offered and passengers were kept in the dark for long periods of time. The return flight was also slightly delayed. This is not a good reputation for an airlines to have. United will not be my first choice of airlines in the future."
