Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "Service was great!"
Cons: "We were over an hour late to depart due to “Cosmetic” issues. Then we landed in Detroit to find out our landing gear might have an issue. Airport firefighter were standing by. We landed safely and crew was amazing."
Pros: "Alaska consistently provides an organized pleasant flying experience."
Cons: "One of the flight crew today was a bit on the grumpy side and made several negative comments about Alaska and about customers. Totally not typical for Alaska. Also - In Seattle had to load onto a bus and drive out to the plane.... another layer to a journey. They were well organized BUT"
Pros: "Alaska consistently provides a positive flying experience. They truly have a culture of positiveness and customer service."
Pros: "Quick boarding and deboarding, comfortable seats."
Pros: "I felt the trip was good."
Pros: "Boarding was strange - it was still in groups although we were shuttled to our airplane. I was glad it wasn’t a packed flight as I wasn’t smushed by my neighbors in the seats. Very little turbulence, smooth taking off and landing. I like that I was able to watch free movies without having to pay for WiFi."
Cons: "The shuttle broke down on the way to the airplane and had to wait for another. The good part was that we didn’t wait very long (less than 10 minutes) for another to arrive. No free WiFi."
Pros: "How they saw my needs comfort me. She even came from around the desk to hung me. I am so thankful for all who assisted in this time of need . They are great."
Cons: "Still haven't left and communication is poor"
Pros: "Timeless"
Cons: "I am small and there was very little room. I probably won’t fly Alaskan again."
Cons: "40 mins late, really had to run to make the connection."
Pros: "The flight attendant was great! During the safety instructions, it was like he was dancing :)"
Cons: "I put my bad on the flight side cart and when I got off he flight it wasn’t there. It wound up with the checked bags. Thankfully one of the flight attendants was able to track it down for me."
Pros: "Flight attendants were wonderful and the flight was on time. Very comfy accomodations."
Pros: "everything was great!"
Cons: "We have a service dog onboard, and the flight attendant was brusque when giving instructions about how he can fly, which came off as rude. All of her instructions were unnecessarily snappy, but that’s the one that struck me most. He’s a service dog. He’s allowed to be here. Seats are too hard/rigid, and I wasn’t able to get much sleep due to discomfort/screaming babies. I don’t blame the babies though."
Pros: "It was a night flight, so it was pretty quiet."
Cons: "Seats are uncomfortable. Couldn't sleep."
Pros: "I loved the mood lighting on he plane, as well as the in seat media and food ordering functionality. I’m blown away and will be flying Alaska any time I can get. Probably the most comfortable economy seat I’ve ever sat in."
Pros: "I really appreciated the Alaska Airline’s efforts to make up time after a delay on the schedule and ensuring passengers made their connecting flights. I was very impressed by the assistance provided, as well as the professionalism of the flight attendant who helped a passenger who fainted in the aisle. Well done"
Cons: "Delay in schedule"
Pros: "I sat in a premium seat at the window. First good sleep on a flight I’ve had"
Cons: "Nothing"
Pros: "Personal touch"
Pros: "Friendly staff"
Cons: "Cramped seating"
Pros: "Drinks were complimentary once the flight finally got underway. The staff were lovely despite being exhausted and frustrated."
Cons: "The flight was turned back due to an officer’s medical concern. The individual was standing in the gangway laughing and looking healthy while the passengers had to debark the plane and wait for 2 more hours before resuming the flight to Hawaii. When we arrived the majority of shops were closed; it was 7 hours late. Alaska offered a $200 voucher to make up for this."
Pros: "Straight through flights to and from Portland were such a bonus. The price was reasonable, especially during the holidays. I like that Alaska does not charge you for every little thing. They seem to still value the customer and want to make the flight comfortable."
Cons: "I didn’t have any complaints for this flight."
Cons: "didnt like the hour delay, but what can you do"
Pros: "Fan of the in flight complementary drinks, very friendly flight attendants (Rudy was fantastic) and plenty of space!"
Cons: "I didn't like hating to pay 7 dollars a shot for alcohol, nor wad I a fan of being charged 15 dollars for internet aaccess that was supposed to only cost ten, and was shotty the entire flight."
Cons: "Both of the two flights in two days were delayed to the point that I missed my next flight. Third times a charm"
Pros: "Seats were roomy and flight was comfortable and on time."
Cons: "Flight attendants not very personable."
Pros: "It was my first time using Alaska, this trip. I liked your airline overall! Clean."
Cons: "On my flight home to Detroit I was seated in the back. The flight attendants did nothing but gossip about other flight attendants (good and bad), their home life, etc. One rammed me with the cart & their body, woke me up, didn't even apologize. Just felt it was rude. I pay for my flight. I was trying to rest on my 4 hour flight before I had to tend to daughter who had cancer, I need the rest. And for what I paid, I should be able to. Not listen to Alaska's drama within."
Cons: "My flight was changed by Alaskan air. Flight was good, just wish I could have left at the time I originally planned."
Pros: "This flight did not exist - I ended up with a flight from Bellingham to Seattle, but they cancelled that and I ended up having to catch a bus at 4 am to Seattle to catch my flight to Indianapolis. Now I have to track down how to get reimbursed for the bus ticket, which is not easy for me."
Pros: "Leg room"
Cons: "seat cushion"
Pros: "On time leaving and early into SeaTac"
Cons: "Its a short flight. The prop aircraft are not very comfortable or quiet, but they are reliable"
Pros: "Love the crew service"
Cons: "My plane was delayed"
Pros: "Everyone"
Pros: "On time, courteous crew."
Cons: "First class was full. Paid to upgrade for what is referred to as Premier class I believe. Was in row 6 seat D. Crammed against the wall. Seats seemed abnormally tiny. Before even boarding the flight, the smell of the lavatory wafted strongly through the jet way. It only got worse from there. From the time we took off to the time we landed, the plane was absolutely saturated in an overwhelming pungent putrid smell, that one could only expect was from the lavatories. That aside, I personally don't understand what constitutes Premier class, or premium-class whichever the case may be. Anyhow, my experiences with Alaska have generally been positive, but this flight however was an absolute disappointment in a number of ways. To be clear, the crew was courteous and professional. I guess it's just been awhile since I have flown in the teeny tiny seats that I guess are considered standard."
Cons: "They overcharged me for my beer by $9 and I didn't notice until I got home when I looked at my billing statement."
Pros: "2 hours late"
Pros: "Nothing in this area"
Cons: "Smallllllllll seats that I ly reclined one inch. No leg room"
Pros: "All else normal"
Cons: "Delays out of bellingham due to ground crew not staffed to fuel our plane."
Pros: "Poor experience"
Cons: "Flight cancelled at the last minute."
Pros: "Friendly and competent."
Pros: "Great crew, Great service. Prompt flight."
Cons: "No individualized entertainment screen."
Pros: "Friendly, welcoming staff. On time. Nice new terminal at Bellingham. Check-in staff found me a better seat for the Seattle to San Francisco leg of my journey without me asking for it. Great initiative!"
Cons: "Cramped seats. $25 baggage fee."
Pros: "Awesome services from the crew, very accommodating"
Cons: "It's all perfect"
Pros: "The crew was courteous and professional."
Pros: "Very friendly and professional staff. Free access to movies was really nice as well."
Pros: "Crew was friendly during flight and regularly moved through the cabin."
Cons: "Impersonal during boarding. Check in counter to get boarding pass was unfriendly."
Pros: "the service and on time"
Pros: "Relaxed, professional attitude."
Cons: "The flight was late by nearly three hours. Disrupted plans significantly and added to expenses."
Pros: "The turbulence was TERRIBLE due to the weather and the pilots did an amazing job at handling it and getting us there safely. The crew also gave my friend a voucher for towards a future flight when she offered an extra pair of her son's pants to a family whose son threw up after the bumpy flight. Thanks so much!"
