The gates kept changing. I got up to move to the correct gate at least four times during the night. The next mornings flight was behind schedule as well. I had to spent one hour to fit this information to be able to check in.? It was an international flight but it was treated like a domestic flight. We were not even offered the curtesy snake for a domestic flight by unfriendly stewards apparently unhappyted with her job. Apparanty all American carrier staffs has no respect for customers. It is not only s united problem. Curtesy and respects goes both ways. They need to be retrained in public relation."

Pros: "The planes were on time. On our way down to Cozumel. The pilot let me 4-year-old son see the cockpit. Which was AWESOME, they were great As well as the flight crew on the way down. The trip down was terrific, If AA had this level of service all the time I would fly with them all the time."

The check-in process was slow and i was overcharged for my bike, On the way down it was $25 the same price as previous AA flights, On other airlines, it also just counts as a piece of luggage. On the way home i was charged $150 oversized luggage, yet it was <50 lbs and within the size limits. The flight crew was not overall friendly. Very business like and not warm at all. If they were a restaurant i would not be returning. The locks on my bike case were both broken off. the case was not locked. Nor was this done by TSA as they would have left a note as they have previously done."

Cons: "The flight was delayed due to several mechanical issues but the ground crew did not communicate effectively on the issue or how long the delay would be. I understand that these issues occur, but better communications and empathy from the ground crew would have gone a long way. Boarding was also a disaster because everyone tried to board at the same time and again, the ground crew did nothing to control the situation."
Cons: "More than a 2 hour delay in Madrid for American Airlines to replace the seat harness on the Co-pilot's chair. This seems like an evolution that should never delay a flight if the proper preventive maintenance had been performed. Very little info was given and there did not seem to be any concern by the pilot or flight attendants once the flight was boarded due to the delay. I was very relieved, however, when we arrived at JFK and AA had a point of contact helping folks with close flights. We originally had 3.5 hours to make our connection to BWI, but due to the delay, had less than an hour to go thru Passport control, rescreening and entry to the terminal, but we made it. Thank you for the personal representative. I did not get her name, but she was very, very helpful."

FAA should investigate with the decreased aisle width and distance between the seats, can the evacuation be completed within required time, in an actual emergency. American Airlines is endangering the lives of passengers. And the cramped conditions are contributing to the hostile actions of some passengers. What does it take to do what is right?"

Cons: "I was traveling for the first time in crutches. As soon as I approached the check-in counter, the lady at the counter asked me rudely "Are you checking in any luggage?". I first told her that I requested assistance getting to the gate and asked if it would be by a wheelchair or a cart. She didn't answer the question, and repeated the same question. Since I had one carry-on size bag, I asked if I need to check it in, or if I can bring it with me when they help me get to the gate. To which she replied in a very irritated tone, "I'm asking you if you need to check it in! Can you bring the bag on-board and put it away in the overhead bin YOURSELF WITHOUT ANY HELP?", hinting that no one will provide any help... At this point, I went ahead and checked in my bag. Thank God the wheelchair service is provided by a separate vendor, because he was wonderful and helpful. While we waited to board, the flight was delayed a few times. I could not hear the announcement from where I was sitting, but I noticed people started to make a line by the central info counter. 4:42pm, I received the cancellation notice via email. Because of my injury, I was unable to wait in line for long, so I chose to sit and wait next to the counter, until the line got shorter. 1 hour later, the line was growing even longer. 6pm, I re-booked a new flight for the next day via iPhone app, however, it was still showing the old boarding pass that I was automatically re-booked for. I still had to talk to someone from United to confirm, also to ask for wheelchair to get back to the main building, so I continued to wait. At one point, one of the United employees moved to the side counter to make a call re: another flight that arrived. I went and stood right in front of her and said "Excuse me, I have a quick question about wheelchair service". She looked at me right in my eyes, but she started talking to the other person on the phone. After she hung up, she ignored me and went back to the center counter, leaving me confused as to what just happened... At this point, I did not even want to make another attempt to ask for help. 7:20pm, the line went down to 3 people; a gentleman with a bad knee, another gentleman with a bad leg and myself on crutches... Am I the only one to think there is something wrong with this picture? 7:40pm, I was finally on the way back to the main building with a wheelchair service, which by the way is run by a group of amazing people. I am not complaining about the delays and cancellations. I understand it happens. I am not expecting that someone like me with temporary disability automatically receives first place in line. I do, however, wish United was more aware of some people who are in need of assistance, while being fair to other passengers. I cannot imagine how difficult it is for people with disabilities to travel with United Airlines."

Cons: "Boarding chaos, zones are there for a reason and the gate agent shouldn't be a pushover. Had the huge elbow hog sitting next to me and the temperature on board was between 95-105. It was crazy warm for a winter flight when passengers are already wearing cold adapted clothing."

BUT-- there was no compensation.. no free drinks, no free food worse: the flight left after lunch but there was only breakfast food (since it had been a morning flight). and THEY RAN OUT OF FOOD FOR SALE. despite the 4 hour delay. we were starving. then... we FINALLY arrive... and wait another full HOUR for the gate to be opened. because it had "timed out" (because we were so late?) and apparently, they have to call someone in from who knows where to unlock the gate... it took an hour! we basically lost a full day of our Hawaiian vacation"
