They overbooked our flight and moved us to the next day. We were unaware that our flight had been moved until we got to the check in. Even now you email us about a flight we never had. We had to pay close to 1k to quickly book another flight just to make it to our destination in time.

This was a short flight of about one and a half hours in economy. Everything was as expected as a short flight in economy class.

Purchasing add-one was complicated. Pre-paid for second checked bag the day before, was forced to pay again—a higher amount—because they “couldn’t find” record of my payment, despite me having received 2 confirmation emails (including a receipt) for the baggage. Showed them the emails and the recipes, and even the record of the transaction through the banking app on my phone, and was still forced to pay twice. Unacceptable.

My flight got canceled and I haven’t been able to get my refund.

Worst airline ever. Pilot strike and bankruptcy was the best part of the experience. The website didn’t work to purchase specified seats, no one answered the phone, and I couldn’t even enter any birthdate on their website for anyone born on the first of a month without getting an invalid date error. If any airline ever deserved what to go bankrupt it’s this one. And after booking 9 people to take a once in a lifetime trip for my 90 year old father to travel back to his homeland we will likely never see the $12,000 we spent on tickets. Then because of the late cancellation we had to pay $16,000 for less convenient flights with another airline.

The staff between IAD and Copenhagen was not friendly

Kayak offered terrible service, and was unwilling to come up with better alternatives to fix their mistake. Don't choose KAYAK, if the airline cancels the flight, KAYAK only makes effort to avoid any accountability.

Check-in personnel: They only gave me a single luggage tag for 3 pieces of luggage - they should have given me 3. Would have made tracing lost luggage easier. Employee @ IAD told me that if I didn't show up at the boarding gate 40 minutes prior to boarding that they would remove my luggage from airplane and that I could risk losing flight (wtf?). Icelandair is one of the worst airlines I have ever flown. I highly recommend looking elsewhere. They may offer rates 20% cheaper than other major carriers, but that discount accompanies a steep price. It's an airline run by inexperienced, lackluster, apathetic staff who, frankly, have no business operating an airline. If your options are flying with a major carrier vs Icelandair - and the price difference is a few hundred $: pay the extra money; you'll be glad you did. Icelandair's prices are not low enough to justify all the discomforts and liabilities which accompany them. Look elsewhere. Keep this in mind: I'm a seasoned flyer. This airlines barely ranks one notch up from Ryanair."

However, whereas any self-respecting airline would have a baggage service contact who could access the baggage database and tell you where your bag was last scanned, and problem-solve to arrange delivery on the next flight, Icelandair has farmed lost luggage service out to a contractor with access to no info and no abilty to arrange anything. After hours of waiting, each customer was told to fill out a form and that no information could be supplied. They say if you don't hear from us in 6 days, visit our website."

VeriFLY demanded by Aer LINGUS is a disaster. It doesn’t work. Can’t upload any documents. Airline sends many emails to check online. Doesn’t work! Check In at counter was a nightmare.

Boarding was perfect, but Ensure a wide variety of food onboard, items we requested from the menu was not available. 😢 also ask passengers to remain seated while disembarking - it is so much more organised to disembark by rows etc rather than leaving passengers standing in the aisles

Cons: "Worst experience I've ever had. I've been traveling for years but never experienced an airlines this unprofessional. I have received 4 emails which all said my flight had a 3 hour delay but did not notify me it will be on time until 20 minutes before departure from Barcelona. Of course, I Went to the information desk to see if they can still board me on the flight but they said no although it still didn't leave. They charged me 115 Euros a ticket but ONLY accepted cash. I was not flying alone and it didn't carry hundreds of euros with me. I had to wait hours just for the exchange to open. The crew at the information thought this was hilarious by the way, particularly the supervisor who had an extremely cheap red hair dye who refused to give me her name then put a scarf over her name tag to hide it. After I thanked the man who was helping me, she naturally yelled from across the information desk "HE SHOULDNT DO THIS!!!!" ... I said thank you? NEVER FLY THIS AIRLINES! I hope they get their act together before this airlines goes out of business!"
Cons: "Could not board at 1 PM to Amsterdam from Lisbon as plane was seriously overbooked. Had to go around the airport to get my own luggage and to get new tickets issues to Barcelone that night and then a flight the next day to my destination in Amsterdam. I lost 20 hours, much of that time to get my flight and luggage rerouted. No Vueling représentative at Lisbon airport! Compensation is not easily obtained through website as advertised. Worse experience in 60 years of flying 10,000 miles a year."
Pros: "at the check in. I've been asked to pay because my booking didn't show that I included 1 in cabin bag and 1 ship for each traveler. I had to pay because I wasn't going to lose my flight. I ask you to check my booking please."
Cons: "Plane boarded early. Then we sat for 45 minutes past our departure time while they did unspecified maintenance on the plane. Poorly organized and chaotic."

I couldn’t get my boarding passes from Vueling’s website, as the login details as required by Vueling, are actually those used by who “bought” the ticket - some random email used by Kayak / Lastminute.com, and not mine! Crazy! Moreover, the whole business processes that Vieling use are just dijointed. even getting help I still never received by boarding passes via email."
Cons: "Worse, Vueling charge you, on checking, to “choose seats” with no obvious way of not paying for them! I’m sure here was a link somewhere - but could I see it?! Nope! that and my suitcases, and I had paid over €100 extra on top of my initial flight cost. BA or Easyjet next time!"

Pros: "It was not clear on Website that we would be charged extra for luggage."
Cons: "They're pushing the seats so close together that either you upgrade, or you're crushed. Particularly when you're tall, like I am, you notice every flight seems to be a bit worse, and year after year that's what's going on. It's gotten to the point I'm not against Ryanair's ridiculous standing seats prototype anymore. At least standing I won't get a trombosis."
Pros: "We had to buy sth to eat or drink. It is better to serve 2-3 kind of hot drinks for free."
