The flight from Boston to Ottawa was delayed 5-6 times, at one point they were planning to re-route us to Hamilton and put us on a bus to Toronto...! Since the Porter planes are so small they are the first to get bumped. They kept us waiting for 7 hours at the airport rescheduling and delaying our flight until it was finally cancelled. They gave us a $15 meal voucher.. that's it! No offer of accomodations or any assistance whatsoever. I was rebooked for 2 days later!! This is the second time I have had this exact scenario with Porter.. so it is not a chance happening."

Cons: "Started with long delay instantly. After waiting in line to rebook my connecting flight which was missed because of daly I was given a boarding pas with the wrong name on it. I had to leave security line and go back to the counter. I was told it was no big deal and these things happen. After waiting a couple of hours for my next flight I was told my boarding pass had the wrong flight number on it. So once again I had to leave the boarding area to get the matter taken care of. It was a very frustrating experience."

So my 11:20am flight became a 6:30pm flight, no reason given. Later on in the afternoon that flight got moved to 7:30pm... At the airport, they changed the gate and then my final boarding time ended up being 8:00pm. So not impressed!! I had pre-purchased a bus ticket home which I lost the money on, Porter has not responded to my request for them to pay for that. PLUS my husband having to then drive 1.5 hours to pick me up and then drive us home another 1.5 hours at 10:30 at night. What a total mess, I had work booked the entire next day and night that I was now exhausted for."

I dont think I've ever flow this route on and had an om time arrival This caused me to miss my flight in Toronto, forcing me to spend the night. I pressed their customer service rep for a hotel, but they refused claiming it was a weather related incident and they were were therefore mot responsible. The weather in Boston and Toronto was fine and at no poi t on the flight did anyone offer Any Reason Whatsoever for the delay. Moreover when i protested the customer service agent mocked me for not realizing it was a 'weather related incident'. I spent the night on the floor on YYC. Needless to say, Ill never fly Air Canada again."

The funny thing is after I checked in, it was not scan at any other place except Toronto. So it got lost at Toronto where I checked in. All that am told of is the baggage can not be located. Three weeks I spend at Boston, I had nothing."

Luckily when I fly from my birth place of St. John's NL, you're ground staff are the absolute best! I can give "shout outs" to each and every one of them. From those ready for retirement to the new staff just in from "who knows where", they get the whole "customer service" priority that your airline needs to focus on. Your management in Halifax "Sharon" is out of this world too, other than that whether through Lufthansa, Air Canada or anywhere I would travel, seeing that red leaf on your wing would make me ashamed to be Canadian."

The flight - although half empty had no place for my briefcase, but I was "ordered" to push my sealskin bag under the dirty greasy seat in front of me. When I requested they store it upfront for take-off & landing - the french female steward started flirting with the man sitting next to me and didn't even offer a response. When drinks came around - I was handed a half empty glass with juice on it's exterior and borrowed a napkin from the next seat. Later I did get a napkin "thrown gently" over the person she enjoyed speaking with. I was happy to wait until connecting passengers disembarked before the local traffic, but was appalled when the more senior female steward stopped a local passenger who I know has anxiety about flying - to insist she let the other passengers off first. Air Canada needs to be educated on what human behaviour entails, before they can graduate to customer service. Together with my first name, you can know my last name is Floyd"

Cons: "The flight had two legs: from Boston to Toronto and from Toronto to New Delhi. The layover was 1 hr 6 min, which was tight. After checking in our bags, we found out that the first leg of our flight is 2 hours late, so obviously we couldn't take the second flight. Looking at the TV monitors, I noticed that pretty much ALL Air Canada flights are seriously delayed. Luckily, there was an earlier flight to Toronto (which was scheduled to have already left, but it did not leave because that was delayed, too). The staff put us on that flight and double promised to make sure that our checked in baggage gets transferred to this alternate flight. The checked bags did not get transferred. When we arrived at Delhi, after an exasperating 1.5 hour delay after a 20 hour flight, the airline told us, and many others in the same situation, that our baggage did not arrive, and we have to come the next day to pick them up. The issue was, we were not staying in Delhi, just transiting through it. No luck, the airline said, because the customs have to be cleared at the port of entry. We are still waiting for our baggage. Oh, and if that was not enough, the airline allocated well separated seats for all the members of our family. I'd think it would be a common sense that people who have been booked on the same ticket must be assigned consecutive seats. But apparently Air Canada does not have much common sense. NOT flying with them ever again!"

Cons: "Bad There is only one line for security at Air Canada Boston Logan because of the small volume at this check point. Because of this, PreCheck passages need to hold onto there bording pass as they go through security. The first security person who checks ID and boarding pass only told my wife not to take off her shoes. He did not tell her to hold on to her boarding pass, so she put it into the bin for x-ray stuff. So later security personnel then told her to take off her shoes and gave her a body scan because her boarding pass was already in the x-ray machine. I always hold on to my boarding pass thru security but had to take my computer out of my carry-on."

The traffic made it feel like I was sitting on a bench in Grand Central Station. I chose an aisle seat but ended up mysteriously in the middle seat. I had extra leg room but if I’d eaten the free 5 pretzels I wouldn’t have been able to fit it my seat any longer. The WiFi wasn’t working for the first hour of the flight. The flight attendant got really annoyed when we didn’t look up when he came by with beverages the first time. We all had headphones on and were looking at our personal screens. The activity by the rest room was constant so we didn’t notice it wasn’t just someone waiting for the loo. The luggage took so long to come out I thought my conference would be over before I got it. Overall, I thought it was bad and confirmed why I don’t fly United. Old, dingy planes, poor service. The pilot was pleasant and communicative so there was at least that..."

Since I had cash in my wallet, the customer service rep abruptly told me, “we don’t accept cash.” I have been flying for most of my life and I know that you have to pay for baggage fees with a credit card. This interaction was disappointing to say the least."

Cons: "1. Comfort: the headrest on these seats is so uncomfortable! It just props your head forward and causes a lot of neck strain. For most short haul flights, this is not a big deal, but it really makes for an unpleasant journey on the cross-country flights. Also, the four-seat middle section is so poorly designed. There is no way to store personal items under seats without invading the space of your neighbor because the metal frame supporting the row of seats doesn't match with the seats themselves. 2. Entertainment: United could not support continuous streaming of movies/TV shows for every passenger. My movie paused and froze so frequently that I gave up on finishing it and then felt like I had wasted my time. The speed and reliability reminded me of trying to watch movies on a dialup connection. It would be so much better to just have the TV screens built into the seats. All in all, United got a bad batch of planes and should try to take this into consideration when working with Boeing/Airbus on the next order."

I liked United. Too bad about the incident I read about. I was on a flight with no available seats to LA and thought someone had taken my seat. Turns out I was reading it wirong on my phone abd the last seat available was actually mine."
Pros: "It was a particularly stormy, windy night with lightning delaying our flight, however, once we were granted permission to fly, the pilots managed a safe flight with little turbulence once away from the storm."
Cons: "The seats, were the nightmare! If you're 5'8" or taller, don't plan to cross your legs for the flight duration!"

Cons: "There was a rude passenger that yelled at me as I was exciting the flight suggesting that I cut her off as we were getting off the plane thinking that I took her bag. It was outrageous and completely ruined the flight for me. I realize this has nothing to do with the flight but it just made me feel so crumby and attached that I felt the need to share it. Also the leg room was a joke. We barely had any room to move. I probably won't fly coach on united again due to the bad taste it left in my mouth. Unfortunate because it's hub is in chicago."

Cons: "There was some sort of mix up with seat assignments two guys had the same seat assignment. The very nice gentleman who was sitting in my seat due this stood and allowed me to have my seat as it was on the isle and I was in boarding group 5 and my seat was all the way at the end by the bathrooms and needed to be able to stretch my legs into the isle. There was absolutely no leg room what so ever. The dude next to me spent the entire trip jabbing me in the side with his elbow so that he could access what little space I did have. I was unable to move my legs because every two seconds the entire plane was trekking to the back to use the bathroom, because while there was a third bathroom on the plane towards the front, for whatever reason nobody seemed to be using it."
Cons: "Because United scheduled flights without regard to airport Construction in Boston my flight was changed 3 times and I still missed my connecting flight. After I missed my flight, they refused to schedule me on the next available flight even though people behind me were scheduled because they were preferred customers. They refused to pay for my hotel and the customer service was rude arrogant and dismissive. I will absolutely never fly United again. The crew on the Boston flight to Newark was lovely everything beyond that was absolutely abhorrent. We got to our connecting flight exactly as boarding closed and they refused to let 11 people board. And subsequently, United staff was rude to us saying it wasn't their fault."

Not quite sure how both myself and my partner didn't end up seated together, and both ended up in a middle seat sandwiched between 2 overweight people... Are you little people profiling to break up the overwhelming number of big people? another couple with 2 kids were also broken up into distant areas on the plane. I know everyone complains about so many things, and this wasn't the end of the world, but still, it's not ideal. The seating/etc seemed more disorganized than usual for this flight."
Pros: "I was so impressed with the captain and flight attendants handling the engine problems we had that sent us back to the gate for maintenance at Boston. They were calm and professional and (as a fearful flyer) I felt confident the captain was absolutely making sure we were safe to progress."

Cons: "The boarding process was confusing. I was issued a boarding pass with "see agent" instead of a seat assignment listed. When I saw the United agent at the gate I was told "don't worry we'll find you a seat." I was confused because I felt that I was treated as if I was flying stand by when in reality I booked my ticket in advance. Everything worked out in the end--I was one of the last on the plane but I got a seat and had no issues with finding a place for my carry-on--however, I prefer having an assigned seat to avoid the anxiety of not knowing what is going on during the boarding process."

Cons: "Hour delay that made me miss my connecting flight. Customer service agent, Theresa, at the United gate was more interested in checking her cell phone text messages & handing out $10 food vouchers than the long of people who have conflicts with connecting flights or missing events in the destination they were flying to. Every minute lost could prevent customers from obtaining another immediate or comparable flight to their destination. Customer service agent sent those who were going to have problems with their connecting flights to the United Airlines service desk, of which, there were no customer service agents at any of the four available stations. I waited 10 minutes for an agent & no one arrived. When I went back to the original line I was standing in, I was forced to go to the back of the line rather than the place I was originally standing. Therefore I waited in line an additional 20-30 minutes. Once I was served they did not have any more seats available on direct flights to Melbourne. They wanted me to fly to NY, then Sydney & then Melbourne. Additionally the customer service agent did not seem confident this flight was not going to have any hiccups. Worst of all, I had been planning this trip for months & it was ruined by United Airlines."

Cons: "Boarding was a mess with an adjacent gate exiting at the time of boarding creating a melee of people crossing queues. You have a carry-on baggage policy - stick to it. I wasn't carrying any roll-ons or large items but many of my fellow passengers were carrying multiple items in the hope of either getting them on or having them checked for free. Complete shambles with later boarders running up and down the aisle trying to fit their carry-ons into overhead lockers. Solution: Enforce one item only; Apply free checked items at the gate early. Apply a fee for items that don't fit and were not offered up for checking."

Having paid for the trip with the Mileage Plus Explorer card, the first checked bag is free for each traveler. At the kiosk check-in at Logan, the machine wanted to bill us $25 to check my wife's bag. It took another 20 minutes to get this rectified."
