Departing passengers at a neighboring gate were bound for Fargo and sat with their parkas on and with parka hoods up. We Houston-bound had packed our coats & boots and were shivering. Then when we finally boarded the crew announced that the plane's water system was broken and so we would have no hot coffee or hot tea or hot anything. No water, also and obviously, in the restroom sink. But sani-wipes were provided in the sink basin."

We waited 5 hours to rebook a destination back to the USA and traveling lasted 24hours. Right now I'm not sure if I'll be refunded my tickets for thedomestic airline flight. WE will NEVER want to fly out of Frankfurt and especially with Lufthansa. I have to say the people at the service counters were very nice and helpful but it took 5 hours to get serviced and were missed 2 possible connecting flights. Lufthansa was a good airline but that was 20 years ago. The airport is too big now has too many delays so I'll avoid it at all cost."

At this point in the 21st century, a meatless diet is a widespread life choice, for either ethical or health reasons. I would really like to see a pasta option as a default. Cons: "We were quite disappointed when we were told there would be a delay due to mechanical issues after already boarding and being on the plane for over two hours. Imagine our distress at being trapped in a narrow seat inside the confines of a plane still sitting on the tarmac and going nowhere with very limited climate control and circulation that added even more discomfort. This level of stress was compounded by the manner in which our minimal nutritional and hydration needs were not only met but as fare paying passengers, we were teased by a meager slice of packaged and processed sliced banana bread and a mere two cups of water. This fact is especially important because it more severely impacted my father who is diabetic and it was not sufficient for him, especially at 11:44 p.m. Also because there was no communication relayed to passengers that the problem would not be resolved the second time we boarded, Air Canada agents should have recommended or handed out dinner vouchers while we were waiting in the airport after they evacuated us the first time (since everything was closed the second time we were evacuated). We were stuck on the plane for a total of 4 hours two separate times they boarded us and in between that we waited back in the airport for 2 hours; therefore a total of over 6 hours of time past the original boarding time which lead us into 1:30am of not going anywhere. Flight was rescheduled for 23 hours later! We understand the challenges of operating an airline and trying to meet schedules and the needs of the customers. Furthermore, we appreciate diligence when it applies to the safety of flying. However, the myriad problems, distress, physical and discomfort not to mention the over 23 hellish hours, was exacerbated by the following: the lack of communicaton and bad information; the paucity of empathy reflected by all Air Canada employees toward our aggregation; the measures taken to mitigate the damage inflicted to what was to be our “dream vacation” and finally the scarcity of adequate accommodation and compensation for all that we endured. We too lost one night at the Barcelona Universal Hotel worth $207, not to mention a lost vacation day worth over $600 in salary for 8 hours for us. Air Canada should be held to higher standards and more responsible for keeping up to date on their aircraft maintenance checks and regulations. There was also no specific hotel address on the voucher issued which caused us to drive to two different sheraton 4 points locations until we finally reached our destination which there was no vacancy. Luckily after lingering around in the lobby and me having to call multiple hotels to verify vacancy, one room became available and we ended up inviting another family to stay in our room that night (other Air Canada victims). We didn’t get to bed until 5am that following morning after all of that ruckus!!"

The entertainment options were limited, especially if you didn't bring your own device with the Air Canada app installed as there were no screens in the seats. The aircraft interior was dated and worn. The crew were curt and not helpful. I just expected better from the national airline of Canada."

Cons: "I was held aside at the customs area and had a difficult time figuring out what was going on. Signage was less than helpful, and staff were unaware of why I was being held. After over 30 minutes during which the gate staff could only tell me to wait and watch for my initials on the electronic board, the staff learned that some bags on my arrival flight had been accidentally diverted to Canadian customs rather than US customs, and passengers could not proceed to connecting flights until our bags were located. The customer service staff then worked very hard on our problem. I was instructed to re-book my flight, since by now the doors were about to close - but that customer service person could not re-book me, and I had to queue up again for another agent. When I got to the desk, that agent was able to get me approved to board my flight sans bag, ran me to the front of the Immigration line, and got me to my gate in time to board. I deeply appreciate her assistance, as my family was already on the plane."

Even when we were told that we were pushing away from the gate, we didn't move for another 15 minutes. At least tell the truth. Only water offered. Observed flight attendant moving cups along baggage bins.... Don't know if these were the ones he then served water in."

Cons: "Arrived in SFO late due to delay from SBP on flight 5022. Rushed to the gate for flight 5992 which was scheduled to board at 2:00 and depart at 2:25. Arrived at the gate at 2:12 with 4 other passengers, 3 of which came from flight 5022. Found the door to the jetway closed and no airline employee to be seen. One fellow passenger ran to a neighboring gate to ask an employee for help and was told they could not help us. Another passenger called united customer service and was put on hold. At 2:23 the united employee emerged from the jetway and told us that we had gotten there too late. When we told the employee that all 5 passengers had been waiting at the gate for ever 10 minutes, the employee argued, insisted that we were lying. This was not only extremely unprofessional but also added insult to injury after we had missed this flight due to fault 100% on united's shoulders and none of our own. I am completely baffled how an employee could not wait just a few minutes when you have 5 passengers rushing in late. The employee could have looked in the system and seen that we were already on the ground and coming from a near by gate. I was rebooked on flight 1889 at a later time. After boarding 1889 a maintenance issue was detected requiring all passengers to deplane. It is beyond me why this issue was not discovered until after the flight had been boarded, when at that time the plane had been sitting at the gate for over two hours. After being delayed over an hour we were on our way to Austin. Ultimately I arrived in Austin 5 hours after my original arrival time due to the incompetence of united airlines. I was disappointed by the lack of professionalism and compassion by united employees throughout the ordeal."

The flight attendant said she'd try to reset the monitor and then never came back the rest of the flight. I also was not compensated for agreeing to take another flight than the one I booked, paid for and successfully checked in for. I also got into Austin later than I wanted with this new flight I was forced to take. Overall this experience was a terrible one unfortunately."

The absolute worst was my tray was broken on the right side so it couldnt hold the weight of my drink or anything so i was forced to hold my drink food etc. I had to prop my leg under the tray so it could hold my laptop so i can finish my work which i didnt get to finish because it was to uncomfortable for my leg. Needless to say ive never had a bad experience flying and i used to say that all the time but i guess i just jinxed myself because that was bad. All it was missing was a crying baby."
