Where should I start?
Check-in process was extremely disrespectful. Person at checking desk did not care about me, my situation, or my luggage. Simply threw my luggage around the back belt. Asked person to add my Star Alliance number, person said it was already there, when it really wasn't. Asked person to re-print tickets to confirm number was there, and only then did she actually put the number in.
Informed this person I had forgot to put FAA lock on baggage, to which she told me it would take 1hr to get my luggage back, when the luggage was right behind her, sitting there. I asked another gentlemen to reach for my bag, and only then was it brought back to me to put the lock on.
On my flight back, checkin at EZE was extremely disrespectful and instead of assisting me with my luggage, was told I wasn't following Avianca policy and it was my problem only. Wasn't given any suggestions, recommendations or given any other options. Simply left to figure it out on my own or pay an outrageous 200 dollar fee on top of my already expensive ticket due to only a few Kilograms over.
Boarding by groups was completely ignored. Boarding was a disaster with everyone rushing onto the plane, being disrespectful, flight attendants did not help, one of them even hit me on the head while trying to shove a suitcase in the over head compartment and it falling on me.
Crew were busy in the back speaking to other crew member dressed in civilian who were busy on vacation flights. They were giving each other alcoholic drinks, laughing and enjoying themselves without any regard to the passengers around them. Their chatting and laughing was louder than my audio when trying to listen to entertainment on my system and wouldn't allow me to sleep. After informing a crew member of my discontent, nothing was done.
Comfort was horrible. Seats would not recline. If they did recline they would recline without me even pressing the button which would lead the crew to push my seat upright during takeoff and landing. When trying to explain issues with seats, crew would relocate me to a different seat in the back of the plane, completely disregarding my seat preference and baggage location. Most seats had no cushioning at all, and you could feel the metal seat frame. Bathrooms were never cleaned, and toilet paper would run out. When informing crew, they told me they would replace toilet paper, but never did. Had to use hand wipes to clean myself instead of toilet paper.
Food was also horrible. Most of the time, and by the time the food got to me at the end, the food was cold, they were out of most of the items. Drinks came much later, 30 minutes after me having "finished" the food. Once that finished, attendants didn't retrieve the trays until the captain announced we were descending/landing into the airport.
Entertainment systems kept rebooting, freezing. Buttons didn't work, remote control systems were dirty and didn't work half the time.
Worst flight experience of my life.
I have a perforated ear drum, and I asked for hot water when I boarded my flight twice, explaining it helps with the pain. Asked the same lady twice. She disappeared so I rang for someone for 20-25 minutes with no response. She finally came back after I was already in tears and immense pain. Didn't even apologize. Also, there needs to be an actual vegetarian option. Pasta with jamon is not a vegetarian dish. Option 1 being pork and option 2 being pasta with jamon is not having two options -- they are the same meat. Entertainment options were also very limited. Miserable flight.
After a 2 hour check in line in the airport lobby, we ran to the gate, only for there to be absolutely no info available. Flight was then cancelled, 2 hours later. Re booking was an absolute nightmare. I will never fly LAN airlines again.
Después de varias mentiras sobre el retraso del vuelo, finalmente nos hicieron abordar a ver si convencían, aún no se sabe si al copiloto o a las autoridades del aeropuerto, de poder despegar.
A la 1:00 deciden cancelar el vuelo y empezó el desorden: no sabían qué hacer! Ni procedimientos, ni protocolos. La supervisora apenada, trataba de resolver el problema de todos los pasajeros.
Finalmente nos mandaron a un "pésimo" hotel hasta el siguiente día.
