I had scheduled a hostel in my destination and the hostel wasn't able to change my reservation but they charged me for the night anyway. I ended up camping in El Calafate, where it was very cold and rained all night."

There was very little information, and I was unable to call a representative because it was off-hours when I got my cancellation notice. If I have a choice in the future, I would avoid Aerolineas Argentinas."

Kayak and FlightNetwork tried to call Aerolineas, who then said they wouldn't help and we could only solve it at the airport. Hence the nine hours. They eventually rebooked us on a flight the next morning, out of the other airport in Buenos Aires. Again, I get it, flights were full with the cancellations. But the run-around was appalling, and they didn't pay for our hotel (why on earth not? We had to spend an extra night and it was ENTIRELY THEIR FAULT) or the $100 of cabs back into the city and then out the next morning. Absolutely appalling customer service. Never again. And honestly, never again through Kayak either."

We were supposed to have two hours in AEP (Buenos Aires), to connect with our international flight to Rio de Janeiro, but ended up with only 1 hour from landing to takeoff. Because the tickets were booked separately we had to collect our bags and recheck them. But the baggage claim area was packed with people and there were two flights before ours lined up for the belt. We knew it would be at least half an hour just to get the bags... it was too tight. So I went to the Aerolineas desk and a nice woman checked the status and referred me to the Customer Service desk. The man there made some calls and assured me that they would pull our bags and put them on our flight to Rio. He told us to go directly to the gate. We did, and needed every minute to go through customs and arrived just in time for boarding. Amazingly, our bags were there when we arrived in Rio, and we were very happy that we made it with our things!"

She kept pushing back and told me the other flight arrives at the same time which wasn’t true. It was an hour later. She had no interest in helping us resolve this issue until I had To get assertive and threaten to file a complaint. I boarded the flight and the flight attendants questioned us why Y wasn’t on the flight. I told them she was stopped. After lots of back and forth the woman at the gate realized the mistake. Y boarded the flight. We didn’t receive an apology for the horrendous treatment of a customer. At this point we had nowhere to store carryon."

Basically a company looking to get money wherever they can at the expense of foreign travelers."

Fortunately the woman who checked me in realized there was 1 seat available on the last flight that would get me to Lima in time for my connection flight (departing same time as my flight pre-delay). She personally got me to the front of the line, and ran with me just about to the gate, where I caught a shuttle to the plane. If she hadn't done so, and if I hadn't checked in so early, I would have been forced to stay in Lima 24hrs, despite buying a rightful seat and having reservations in Buenos Aires. It is appalling and unacceptable that y'all continue to overbook flights, causing incredible trouble, inconvenience and potential harm to your customers. For a service that costs so much, the only acceptable delays are weather and mechanically related. if it hadn't been for amazing staff immediately, I would've been furiously waiting in a city I didn't need or want to be in. Customer service will continue to grow your business or impede it negatively-- how y'all act is up to you. I appreciate how well I was taken care of by several kind individuals."

After talking to the customer service agent at the airport he told me the reason my flight had changed was because my original airplane was flying out of another airport and the only way to make the flight that I had booked was to take a cab ride to the other airport. What he didn't explain was that its a 45+ minute drive between the two airports and I only had about 1.5 hours to get my bag, get on the taxi, check in at the other airport, clear security AND customs. Somehow by the grace of god it all came together but it was certainly a harrowing experience, not to mention the $45 I lost in cab fares. I cannot recommend LAN/LATAM."

Pros: "Despite having a high "Sapphire" status with this One World Partner and being promised "preferente" seats by the airline when I reserved seats months ago, I was unable to view the seats or check in online. Both their App and their online system were down and unavailable. We were never able to view our actual seats online. The "preferred seats" my group on 5 could not have been worse!! We were seated consistently in row 11 or the very last row of the aircraft immediately in front of the lavatory, where the seats do not recline at all and where you hear and smell the bathroom for the entire flight.. There was NO space to breathe in our seats. I have traveled on dozens of airlines and this experience and these seats were the WORST! After this happened once, I specifically asked to insure that it would not happen again and was told that seats on my next flights were good but they were the same horrible seats. Part of our itinerary was on LAN and part was on TAM, who have now combined into 1 airline, but still operate on separate systems. So LAN customer service could not see the seats for TAM flights and vice versa. Their online system reflected a changed time for our return flight from 145pm to 250pm from Rio. We verified it 3 times (even though we could not check in or view our seats because of "technical difficulties" we could see the new departure tie, and the change was confirmed by our Sheraton concierge, but when we arrived to the airport they informed us that we had arrived to late for our 145pm flight! We showed them the app that showed our flight was changed to 250pm and they could not explain the problem. We were delayed 4 hours and arrived too late for dinner in Santiago. The final 4 hour flight at 4am flight from Santiago to Lima was torture. The seat in front was literally 6 inches in front of my face when they reclined and I could not recline. It was absolute TORTURE! Avoid this airline! To add the agony, they have lost my bag and do not know where it is!"

It was great that I was able to create my own playlist with as many songs as I liked from their music library, for the duration of my flight. Staff woke me up and asked me if I wanted food in the morning which I thought was nice. On other airlines, Sometimes they just let you sleep and you miss out. Lighting is great for sleeping. Food is OKAY (im a picky eater) with vegetarian options. Provided pillow, blankets,AND HEADPHONES! Headphones are a must have for a long flight so it's great that they provide it. It was my firat flight with Latam and I look forward to flying with them again."

Pros: "The meal offerings given my "special" menu request (vegetarian) was better than expected, portions were of a nice quantity, the food wasn't bland, and in terms of variety they offered a good food selection. The available entertainment catalog (movies, TV shows, etc) was vast, and included recently released films. I also love that LAN offers pillows, blankets (of good, warm material) and headsets. The crew was attentive and helpful. The plane plane was clean, which is expected to be but not always ends up being that way."

The remote for the "t.v."/entertainment system, that is nestled on the side of the seat, wasn't working and the touch screen glitched (it would freeze, or kick me back to the root menu while I was browsing through options) Small technical problems that given the $$ flights cost, one expects them to work properly."

And on my ticket I didn't have the gate number or the terminal, the goalkeeper said he would let me know when the flight was leaving, the hours passed and I didn't hear him calling me. until near the departure time I went to ask the employee and he said that the flight had left a long time ago and that the entrance was on the opposite side of where I was and they did not warn me ... now I'm here at the airport with no place to sleep, waiting for my other flight with a connection to Brasilia that leaves 6 am where I will wait for almost 12 hours to be able to get home. remembering that my flight from São Paulo to Cuiabá was 3 hours long and I will have to wait for almost 24 hours. A goalkeeper was super arrogant with me, gave me no support and even told me that if I was in the United States I would be waiting for 3 days at the airport sleeping on the floor, so it was ok."

Pros: "Their boarding is more orderly than many Brazilian airlines."
Cons: "check in was difficult. Their app is terrible - check in was not allowed.. The website is worse - it couldn't link my locator number to my account. And the gate check in had an absurdly small number of kiosks and no one to help the confused passengers. Boarding was done on time and they kept the door open for 20 minutes after take off time with no announced reason for the delay."

Cons: "Food was bad and didn't taste fresh. No tea to drink either. Boarding times were usually late but arrival times were as expected. There's no entertainment at all in the planes. No screens, no movies, no nothing."
