We flew first class from SFO to PHL, red eye. No beverages, not even water. Had to go to the flight attendant to request it. No food service throughout the 5plus hour trip. I was able to get 2 pouches of pretzels from the flight attendant, but had to go to her to get it. Mind you, this is supposed to be first class. Again, not even coffee prior to landing. Will never travel AA again.

Cons: "They need to have better policies for morbidly obese seat mates who feel entitled to lift the arm rest and take over a good part of the neighboring seat. With a full flight, the attendants couldn’t change our seats and said that they realized I was out a horrible situation"
Cons: "The gate agents called all boarding groups with the boarding queue extending the entire length of the jet bridge and into the terminal beyond the gate area, making us stand in line ten to fifteen minutes longer for no reason."

Cons: "Booked flight with my sister 6 months before departure, paid for both tickets at the same time to find out seat assignment not together.... that could be understable only if ticket is purchased at the last minute. We were applicable to switch with another couple who were in the same situation as us....."
Cons: "My flight from SFO to Miami was delayed so I missed my connection to Rio and now I’m NYC on my birthday instead of my final destination. The flight status was changed 7 times. And AA said they would get my bag off but they did not and now I have to wait at JFK and hope it got rerouted here. And if it didn’t to hope it can on another flight before I hopefully actually get on a flight for Rio. Nobody has comped me for losing a day in Rio and for my hotel room. And this has been the worst flight exeperience or my life which unfortunately landed on my birthday. One I’ll remember in a sad and bad way. American Airlines refused to compensate me because I got my tickets via Kayak and I haven’t been able to find a number to complain to a Kayak agent whom I sure would say I had to contact American Airlines and nobody would help or take responsilvitu for this disaster."

Cons: "I was on a flight to Dallas on an American Airline flight which arrived late due to weather conditions, and the connecting flight didn't even wait for me although they know why I couldn't make it on time. And I was only late for about 5 minutes."

But that flight was delayed twice because of mechanical problems: the first time we had to go back to the gate and the second time we stayed on the runway just before take off Not enough room in overhead bins. They asked people to check small suitcase or bag."
Pros: "Everyone was so friendly and helpful, especially Ricardo at the check in desk. Our flight was delayed for 2 hours but the friendly staff made it easier to deal with the delay!"

Pros: "while our flight was delayed, they kept us well-informed about what was happening and didn't leave us in the dark. We were delayed because an fight attendant failed to show up, and there happened to be another off-duty flight attendant passenger on board who volunteered to work the flight so that we could still depart on time. Real thoughtful dedication!"

Cons: "I was not a fan that the overhead compartment for my row was not available due to the life raft in there. I understand you have to have one on board, but I think it should be more at the emergency aisles. Also the size of the seats and the space you get is not really worth the price anymore. No matter how big or small someone is, its not comfortable. Airlines need to get back to how the seating was back in the day with great leg room and the seats are a bit wider than what it is now."

Cons: "Got a notification of a TWO HOUR DELAY departing SFO. Rebooked into Charlotte instead of Dallas to connect to Fort Myers. THAT flight got delayed AFTER the doors were closed by another 45 minutes which caused me to miss my connection to Fort Myers AND have American Airlines leave my bag in Charlotte. I rebooked into West Palm Beach to drive to Fort Myers and my bag stayed in Charlotte even though there was ANOTHER 45 minute delay to change a tire on the plane. If I practiced medicine the way the airline handled customers, I'd kill every third patient!"

Cons: "That I was rebooked and lied to at first as to why, and when getting another ticket the the ticket agent said the flight was rebook because "the crew didn't want to come to work". Not cool, I didn't react I simply got my ticket and just wemtnonw but there was no apology like they didn't care what I missed having to be rebooked I also wasn't given any sort of military discount no seats no baggage. Other airlines I've flown the past months always do something for military."

Cons: "Never made the flight due to flight not getting in to Chicago on time. Still stranded here with my son. Supposed to be sent to Hartford then Dublin later today. Overall a very bad experience with American Airlines. Wouldn't recommend travelling with them again."
Cons: "My tickets ultimately were booked through Kayak/webjet. I will never book through webjet again. You can't directly speak with an agent. They never sent me my e-tickets. I couldn't download my tickets prior to arriving at the airport. It was super confusing because I couldn't figure out whether I was flying on British Airways or American Airlines. I didn't know what terminal to go to. I finally checked in with American even after they told me to go to British Airways. Next, American said that my booking was messed up such that they couldn't check my bag through. So at Chicago I had to exit the Secure area, pick up my bag from baggage check, check it back in and go back through security. I still didn't have my ticket for the chicago-barcelona leg of the trip. At American, they told be I had to exit the airport again to go to British Airways for the Chicago- Barcelona leg of the trip. Luckily, i asked another agent and she confirmed my flight was though American. It was the most confusing flight experience, I have ever had."

Pros: "Airline and crew looked after us and kept us informed. My app said the flight was delayed but the captain didn't seem to know this so we sat for half an hour or more after planned departure. Maybe he hoped to get an earlier slot. We were 30 mins late in the end."

Cons: "The flight was delayed for 2 hours and after seated in the AA plane for 2 hours, the flight was canceled because without pilot?! Changed to a UA plane but after seated in the UA plane 1 hour, the plane needed to be maintenanced. Had been changed to another UA plane. After three times into three planes, arrived Chicago at 3:30am without the checked baggage."

My 63 years old mother had her small size hand carrier, a travel tote on top (with her travel blanket and her medicine) and a crossbody passport size. They told her to put it in her tote!!! Only 2 items allows. ... In the plane she saw passengers carried way more than what that."
Pros: "The seats were more comfortable than I remember. The cost was appropriate for the travel I did. I was happy to find access to movies on my own device for the long flight."
