Pros: "Our experience leaving tampa to San juan was absolutely perfect! We were starting our honeymoon and as a courtsey, the attendant who checked us in, was absolutely so sweet. She even upgarded us to even more space seats at no extra charge."
Cons: "The flight back to tampa from san juan was a complete nightmare! We arrived at the gate 15 minutes before and was extremely upset to find out that the gates were closed. The pilot and the attendants saw that we were banging on the door and yet they just stared at us. The plane wasnt detached from the terminal which is why I didnt understand why they couldnt let me in unless they sold my seat. An attendant finally came out by the name of Chanel (the AD Lead). All she did is rebook me for 2 days later and told me that that flight might get cancelled due to the hurricane. She wasn't even trying at all to help me. She had a rude attitude and told me that she will be back to help me. Yeah right! She came back 3 hours later! I could not stand to even look at this unprofessional employee. I paid extra to fly jetblue as I have been told they have great customer service. Pshhhh.... I myself had to call jetblue and spoke to melinda (customer service supervisor) she was trying everything in her power and it really showed. An attendant came and started checking the next flight out of puerto rico to ft. Lauderdale. Melinda put me on stand by for the flight and ecen spoke directly to the Natalie who was checking guests on the flight. Two seats came available for me and my husband to get back to florida. We then rented a car and drove 4 hours back to tampa. I was just completely disgusted on how Chanel handled the whole situation. I told her that I had medical treatments the next morning in tanpa that I could not miss but yet she did not at all seem to care. As a lead I thought she would at least put me on stand by to go to ft. Lauderdale. That wasnt even an option for Chanel. She was completely worthless and had a stupid look on her face when she saw me get on the plane to fy. Lauderdale. Something she could have helped me with instead of saying she would be right back and left me for 3 hours later with no help. Jetblue, I say this in the kindest of ways, please fire chanel. People like that will only cost you guys more in the future as you will loose so much clientel due to the unprofessional conduct and customer service she gave. Hire more Natalie's and Melindas who help you regardless of the situation and not Chanel who didnt care and was a bother to her to put in the same type of customer service that Melinda and Natalie gave me."

Cons: "The ambient lighting used throughout the cabin was too bright and stimulating to let me fall asleep in an overnight flight, should have been dimmed more or turned off. The seats did not help the comfort levels either, should have been able to recline a tad bid more. The carry-on-bag situation is getting out of control, you should crack down on people who bring too many bags or oversized bags that should be checked in instead."

THen I asked for a pillow and blanket so I can support my head. I was told there was a fee for a pillow and blanket.??????? I said ok since I was looking for relief, and comfort. She came back saying she was sold out. WTF"

I got so sick because of all of the stress and moving around I threw up on the plane and getting off. All over my clothes and shoes and luggage. I had a very bad experience."

My bag fit the meassurements and still was forced to check it (which I did not want to do as I did not want to be waiting an hour for my bag at my arrival as I had work early the next day. In addition there was airplaine traffic as it was "rush hour" instead of flying at 7:45 we departed almost at 9pm!!!! Have to pay for food Quality of tv monitors very poor And in an uncomfortable position No movie options No wifi although stated the aircraft has Non functioning electrical plug"

Food was subpar for an AA flight, especially international. Entertainment system has many defects and problems, for example "search" is useless. Uninspiring and forgettable film choices as well. The knob to control air flow was broken which made it chilly. To finish as I started, a more engaged and pleasant crew could have made all the other things more palpable and acceptable. They were just too cold, like the temperature in the cabin and distant."

My wife, 2 year old son, and I was boarding at the gate and they couldn't scan my son's boarding pass. They quickly went over to the computer station and gave my son another pass. We went to our seats and found out someone else is in our 2year old seat. Apparently they gave the seat to someone else at the last second because up to the point when I printed our boarding passes at the kiosk, our seats were still together (and I paid $41/per seat extra to try to keep us together). The other customer was nice enough to switch with our son so were able to stay together at the last min so it goes to show AA priority and service."

Very stressful, and it didn't help that the gate crew was extremely rude and unprofessional. It is very inconvenient that we could not choose our seats beforehand."

Cons: "Delayed 5.5 hours at LAX. Boarded on time, waited at gate for 1.5 hours and then had to get off. During our delay waiting for a 1st Officer, the Captain times out. NO BACKUP CAPTAINS or 1st OFFICERS AT LAX? Then miraculously during our 3rd hour waiting for a Captain they discovered the 1st Officer was going to time out. So, rather than KNOW this while searching for a Captain, they waited for 3 hours and then had to find a 1st Officer to fill in. Result 2.5 more hours of delay. Even the Flight crew was in disbelief on this one. I think we should all get reimbursed and triple miles for this snafu. Not weather or mechanical - just poorly managed time -- BY A MAJOR AIRLINE - INEXCUSABLE!"
Cons: "Fight was operated by American. Alaska forced to wait in line and see assistance, then inform that because the flight is operated by American, they won't be able to check me in. Had to walk to a different terminal of LAX wait in 2 more lines and by the time they were able to assist it was too late to check in. Missed the flight, have to rebook a 3 hour later departure, move the meeting and take a flight back 4 hours later that has a layover and adds about 2.5 hours more on the return leg. Not to mention having to pay for the new seat."

When we got to the gate he announced the crew had timed out and that we should take our things and get down to wait for more information. Once at the gate we were told they were trying to put a new crew together for us, including the pilot. While we waited they did provide good quality deli food for us. I appreciate the food but the 5 hour delay, I did not appreciate."

I don't know his name, but he's most likely one of American Airline's most senior stewards. His grey hair did not stop him from being one of the most positive and funny people to lighten up a flight. I ran in order to make it and then instead of offering me information on the next flight they left me stranded with instructions to find American. Terrible, terrible customer service. I will think twice before booking a LATAM flight again."

I got on the plane and had to wait for the other two passengers get up and step into the aisle so I could take my window seat. I was in group 7 and apparently they were in a lower number group that was allowed to board before me."

What is with the lightweight, streamlined child-sized seats on airplanes these days? Are you really that tight on money, United? Upon boarding, there was NO room for my single carry-on; a backpack with a macbook and camera gear in it. The flight attendant tried to help finding a place but had to resort to offering to check the bag. With over $4,000 of gear inside I politely declined the crew handling it... Looks like its going under the seat in front of me. Normally on any flight, I can fall fast asleep after take off, and wake up 20 minutes before landing. These seats were so god-awful that 15 minutes in my back was cramping, and 20 minutes later my bum was throbbing with discomfort. This went on for literally the entire flight, even with breaks to stand up in the cramped airplane. I had to share a park-bench style armrest with two people, and to make matters worse, the seats didn't recline. The airplane was hot, airflow poor, and overall comfort at an all-time low. These may seem like minuscule complaints, but for me; they're important. I was happy that I was finally flying with a major airline, for a decent price, thinking that I'd be comfortable all the way home. Not the case apparently for United Airlines. I quit flying frontier awhile back for business, and have no added United to the list. I think I'll stick with southwest and virgin from now on."

The actual flight for this review is a different flight that I paid to get my friend on so could get home. He pretty much had an equally bad experience. The following is my review from my flight from San Diego to Lihue, through San Fransisco. I paid for both flights but wasn't offered the opportunity to submit a review for the flight I was on so I'm taking this opportunity now to do so. I was on a flight home after losing one of my best friends. The flight attendant was extremely rude, making me feel like she was going out of her way to get me a drink of water and never returned to offer food after they missed me when they went down the isle. The gentleman attending to the first class passengers was beyond rude to anyone attempting to use the lavatory near the first class section as if people were supposed to know that it was only available to first class passengers. I was never offered food and myself and other passengers repeatedly ignored by our flight attendant. The entire flight was freezing cold and the air blowing so loud that I couldn't hear any volume on the movie player I was watching, making that nearly impossible as well. I landed at my destination feeling cold and hungry with a pretty bad taste in my mouth towards United Airlines. I don't normally fly United but due to the untimely hospitalization of one of my best friends and having to fly on such short notice, it was all that was available. I used to be a united mileage member but my points expired and became useless to me, living in Hawaii with very few flights in and out of the state several years ago. They seem to have added flights since then but other airlines have won my loyalty since then. I was hoping for a better experience as I remember having better experiences flying United. After this recent experience, I'm not sure that I will be flying United again, especially given the price of fares and what you get for what you pay. You'd think the staff would be more welcoming knowing that people pay so much to fly and then pay for everything else once on the plane. (A comfortable seat, food, drink, etc)."

We sat an waited until the only 2 staff members working the recheck helped another customer rebook a flight they missed instead of checking bags of customers needing to catch a flight. Eventually we ended up having to run through the airport with all our bags from the international airport to the domestic airport and checking our bags in that airport because the lady's at the recheck desk didn't seem to know how to handle checking the bags in. Once we made it to the other airport and checked our bags there we had 5 minutes before boarding was going to close to make it through security and run to the terminal. Luckily, once we made it to the domestic airport the staff there was very helpful getting us on our plane. Although we did have to run to make it."

While this does offer more legroom, it makes eating difficult and uncomfortable. I could not rest a standard square salad container on it during the flight. Luckily, I had a plastic bag from the vendor that I could put over my slacks to act as a big placemat. I didn't want to spill dressing on my pants. No WIFI onboard In short, I will be avoiding Frontier in the future. I do fly budget airlines like SW, but at least the attitude there is better. And what you get is clear."

I had a car rented and a hotel reserved. The car rental in Denver closes is 5 minutes. The thing that's the most upsetting is that we keep receiving erroneous information. The original departure time was 5:25. Then we were told 6:00. Then we were told 9:00pm. Then we were told 12:03, Then we were told 12:20. Now we are being told they don't know when the plane will arrive to take us to Denver. I will NEVER fly Frontier again."

Most airlines would have a contingency plan for this which might include (a) early notification to passengers (b) automatic rebooking connections. Pretty much all would be able to get you to your continental U.S. destination sometime that day. Frontier can't and doesn't even try. They informed the passengers of a 4.5 hour delay right at the time we were supposed to board. Then they informed the vast majority of the passengers with connections that not only would we not make the connections but that we would not make our final destinations that day (it's still 6:30 a.m. at this point). They refused to book us on other airlines. They offered to either give us $100 for a hotel or to refund this leg of the trip and our $40 carry-on fee (another scourge) and told us good luck. I booked a very expensive one-way flight on United so I could get home."

Pros: "I'm typically on the Thursday flight from SFO to ORD. For the most part the flight has departed on time and arrived into Chicago early or ahead of scheduled arrival. The seats and space is comfortable. The price is also very competitive over all. The planes have generally been clean. I like the early flight time from SFO and option to arrive into ORD at a reasonable hour."
