Boarded and sat on tarmac for about an hour a significant amount of that time without air conditioning because the pilots were not on board. Not very much communication about the status of when we would finally depart or if we would depart.

Got held up at the gate and missed my ride back home

It was first class and the seat barely reclined. Also they let everyone use the first class bathroom. Why did I pay extra for that?

Everyone had connecting flights. Off the plane onto a bus. then through customs then shuffled outside with no guidance from employees. Finally I found someone to ask bc 15-20 people were around me in the same boat. Where the f do we go we wondered. The employee was insanely rude. I’m attentive and I listen. he was saying pay attention I told you go right blah blah blah. He was literally standing there with his arm out pointing right and never said a word to anyone. So once we figured out to go outside and right we had a stressful ten minute wal hoping we were going the right way. We were! We get to tsa and have to go through screening again. Which is insane bc we just got off a plane. The tsa agent told us this happens everyday with a smerk. On top of her attitude, her and the two other lazy ladies on her line were painfully slow. The other two lines went at least twice as fast(no exaggeration!) made it to gate 66 to find it was changed without notice to 63. Made the flight by two minutes or less sweating from running around!"

The good news is Alaska and just a few other smaller airlines are far less terrible than the rest of the industry. The product is still cramped, unapitizing and not always smooth... but the crew is consistnetly awesome... and their policies are customer friendly"

Was sent to Alaska Air with the folks who had sent their bag ala carte (meaning they didn't pay) Waited for 20 min for someone to come out! They all got their bags and I was told mine was the ONE bag they took off the plane because the airlines had over booked cargo. Really - take off a paid bag but bring people who try to stuff too many bags in the plane and get to send theirs free. I live over 4 hours from airport and was told my suitcase was in Seattle and would not be here until next morning and airlines would call to confirm. No one called, no one answer the message I left. Didn't reach anyone until the next day and was told my suitcase didn't come in until another day later and they it was Fedexed to me. I was not happy as I had Christmas gifts that I had traveled with. Lack of communication by airline, lack of customer service. Still waiting for a "voucher" for future travel - they are supposed to email me with that info. Not yet."

After losing my flight, Alaska did NOTHING TO HELP to get a new flight or get hotel accommodation. What the hell on arrival in the plane for half an hour keep a passenger or even more?

Sit too short, headrest was low even on max extension and uncomfortable, i’m 6 foot hight, never seen that short sit. Armrests were too low as well.

I was in first class and the flight attendants didn’t come around except to serve food. I had to find them to ask for water. They talked very loudly the entire flight. It was rude and unprofessional.

It was really crowded and too hot on the plane

Flight was delayed by one hour, then another 1/2 hour then cancelled and changed till the next day. We were not allowed to get our luggage & put up in a dirty hotel. I had cockroaches in the bathroom. When I finally arrived home…i noticed the airline had damaged the zipper on my suitcase. An awful awful trip thanks to American Airlines.

If you serve customers from all walks of life including Hindus, vegetarians, Islam, Judaism, it should be expected that the flight attendant know if that is turkey or ham. Another thing is that there was no final check by the flight attendant. We landed with tray tables down, seats recline, and people were still on their laptops."

We left 2.5 hours late due to "weather" (not because there are too many goddamn seats on the plane.) Then, before landing, we were asked to stay in our seats so people who are late for connections can get off first. Seems reasonable. THEY DIDN'T HAVE A GATE FOR US WHEN WE LANDED! The captain said 20 minutes til we can get a gate, but he'll try to get it sooner. He apparently didn't succeed, because it was 45 minutes (!!) before we got to the gate! As a result, 3 hours 15 minutes late. Officially this is "due to weather." Sure."

No, they tell you that you get to call customer service when you return home."

Cons: "Both flights were INCREDIBLY delayed. First, the flight from San Jose was delayed 1.5 hours because they were "waiting for the aircraft." After everybody finally boarded the plane an announcement was made that somehow the luggage crew had damaged the cargo hold, and that everybody would have to deplane. It would take 45 minutes for maintenance crew to arrive to assess the situation. People got up, got their luggage out of the overhead bins, and started moving to the front of the plane. The pilot then came back on the intercom and told everyone they would have to return to their seats. Roughly an hour later we finally took off. It would have been the decent thing to do to AT LEAST offer the passengers something (i.e. comp drinks or snacks), but the cheapskates at United DIDN'T EVEN APOLOGIZE. Multiple people missed their connections. Fast forward to IAH--> SAT. Another late flight. This time, everybody boarded the plane only to be informed that due to a problem with the plane's computer everybody would have to sit on the plane while they "rebooted" its computers. This was done TWICE. UNITED AIRLINES, GET IT TOGETHER. There is a very good reason you are consistently ranked one of the WORST US-flagged carriers, which makes you one of the MOST HATED AIRLINES ON THE PLANET. I really and truly pray that the US airlines and their lobbyists lose their battle to prevent foreign flagged carriers from operating within the US, because you all deserve to go bankrupt."

I get bad weather, I wouldn't want to go up in a plane in a thunderstorm regardless of the circumstances....but I spent almost a day getting to my destination that should of only taken9 hours tops. Delay upon delay, arriving right when my next flight was leaving. Very rude staff, I saw an attendant yell at a mom and daughter like she was their mom. Non-apologetic to anyone. Their goal is to shove you in the plane and shove you out. Are they safe airline? Yes, they will get you to where you need to be...but not before they make your life hell. I don't normally do reviews on anything, but United still has me frustrated even a week later. I almost forgot, they did give $20 to eat. Do you know how expensive airport food is?"

Pros: "When I landed in Denver, I needed a wheelchair. The gate where I landed was a LONG way from the gate where I needed to board for my flight to Billings. The person wheeling me didn't think we'd make it to my gate on time----she practically had to run!! As we passed an agent, she asked if they'd call ahead to let them know I was coming. The agent told her they wouldn't hold the plane for me if we didn't make it. I don't know if they did, but I was the last person to board. Thank God!!!!"
Cons: "The person wheeling me to my gate to Billings couldn't find anyone on a cart who get me to my gate faster & on time. I feel that more of them should be available to those of us who need to go such a long distance to our next gate. We barely made it in my wheelchair and had I had to walk that distance, I NEVER would have made my flight to Billings. Also, agents should be able to contact a gate to let them know that a person is having difficulty getting to their next gate!!!"
Cons: "old plane and configuration in business"
Cons: "The flight was delayed in landing. I paid to watch tv which should be free on international flights... It use to be and they kept making PA announcements the entire flight. It was very very disruptive."
Pros: "Crew was good"
Cons: "Our plane was delayed three hours, which put us in Billing at 12:30am. We also had four different gates in Denver and kept having to move up and down the B-concourse. Huge rodeo."
Cons: "The seats were incredibly uncomfortable and cramped. There was no option for on flight entertainment (despite it being an international flight). Probably would never fly United internationally again."
Pros: "Crew was nice."
Cons: "Less leg room than any other airline, complementary food is real bad, they charge you for everything, movies, alcohol and food, in other airlines they do not charge you for none of the above!"
Pros: "The crew was excellent"
Cons: "The flight got delay because of that I had problems at customs and immigration"
