Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Cons: "No food or beverage service while in COVID mood. Pilates and flight crews were inconsistent with using masks. However overhead announcements by AA constantly stated that face mask were required and that the could prevent you from traveling with AA."
Cons: "Seat very narrow for an upgrade"
Cons: "American Airlines has to be the worst airlines there is. It never fails that they try I Cath someone and try to pretend that their carry-on bagIs too big. They have this tiny little frame no reasonable carry-on could possibly fit into. Over and over again I see people including myself and my traveling companion’s having to check their carry-on bag because their “too big” this is nonsense. These are standard size bags. It’s more than enough space on board the plane. In a way in which the gate check individuals handle this interaction is a palling you’re insulting demanding and don’t give you a chance to rearrange your luggage so I can go into their absurd dimensions"
Pros: "Getting from one location to my destination. Making sure to keep us updated on why we would be late to final destination."
Cons: "No Dr Pepper, WiFi wouldn’t work, no entertainment, snacks were okay, crowded."
Cons: "The seats were tiny! I'm a big woman, but not a huge one and I struggled to get my belt on. Considering how nice their seats are, this is one of the smallest seats I've ever sat in!"
Pros: "quiet, comfortable. good food in first class"
Cons: "people with "emotional support animals" should board LAST, not first"
Pros: "Crew were very helpful"
Cons: "I have an injury so I paid extra for 'extra leg room" but there's a wall between economy and business class so very little legroom. My leg was hurting a lot and the flight attendants had to find me a different seat because I could not stay there for 5 hours. I wouldn't have paid extra for this seat."
Pros: "I just like flying in general"
Cons: "Flying oo high of the altitude made my ears feel like they’re about to burst."
Cons: "Plane was delayed 6 hours- not AA fault but could have compensated by providing some food without charge"
Pros: "The Crew was friendly and professional"
Cons: "More entertainment options and food"
Pros: "The crew was great. No leg room, seats and isles were too narrow. Had a soggy turkey wrap both going to and coming from Honolulu. It was not what I expected from AA. Will not fly AA again on a long haul."
Pros: "Not much"
Cons: "Not sitting on the runway for 2 hours"
Pros: "Crew was great!"
Pros: "The crew was friendly and helpful!"
Cons: "There were no headrests for sleeping or TVs on thr airplanes. Also the flight departure time kept getting pushed back and ended up leaving over and hour late as did our last flight with american."
Pros: "Honestly. Nothing."
Cons: "Internet was down and no entertainment on a transcontinental flight. That’s absurd. Overhead luggage packing was not regulated so made intentionally difficult. Assignment of bags to be checked should be based on size not who is last. Grossly disappointed with service"
Pros: "More space in these seats than in other flights I’ve taken"
Cons: "Late flights with last minute notifications with no alternatives and then more late flights due to missing flight crews."
Pros: "Great and welcoming crew."
Pros: "Early arrival and free upgrade!"
Pros: "The ground personal and flight crews did everything they could do make up for the delays."
Cons: "The numerous delays The small aircraft with overhead bins that couldn't handle what I always carry on normal airplanes. The plane didn't have entertainment Missing plug ins that most airplanes have today."
Pros: "Quick flight, great crew, orderly boarding. Updates to gate were clearly communicated"
Cons: "Very annoyed at "Basic Economy" being a thing. Annoying way to get more $ for the same seat. Avoiding any airline with this status."
Pros: "The staff were polite and the pilot kept us on time. The flight wasn’t over booked and I was able to have an extra seat between myself and the other passenger in my row."
Cons: "That due to the Kayak purchase I had to wait until the last group to board."
Cons: "Since it left without me."
Pros: "The flight was on time and I was upgraded to First Class!"
Cons: "The vegetarian meal is always vegan, I miss the dairy :("
Pros: "crew friendly"

Pros: "Almost all parts were more than satisfactory as expected"
Cons: "Didn't enjoy nor appreciate the nearly 9 hour delay due to plane maintenance issues."
Pros: "This was the best in flight crew I’ve experienced in economy class. They were efficient, friendly & humorous! Keep up the great work! They made flying in not so comfortable seats bearable."
Pros: "The confort seat, and service"
Pros: "Same as above"
Cons: "Same as above"
Pros: "Probably one of the fastest and most Eddie to first class service we’ve had. Shakira was very pleasant and swift."
Pros: "Super smooth flight that arrived on time. Nice crew."
Pros: "Great service. The staff was great."
Pros: "The crew was professional"
Pros: "The entertainment and food on the flight were excellent and the crew were kind and attentive."
Cons: "The only thing I didn't like was that there wasn't much legroom in the economy section. Another problem - which is probably related to Heathrow airport and outside of the crew's control - was that the staff at the airport rushed us tremendously during boarding, saying that the flight would close half an hour in advance. I had never seen boarding close that early and it was very frustrating, because the boarding then took a very long time, since they searched us for no reason, and our flight ended up taking off 30 minutes late! As passengers, we felt very rushed, it seems, for no reason."
Pros: "Seat was slightly more comfortable than DELTA."
Cons: "Families with infants/young children not allowed to board early. Flight was delayed by almost 3 hours and gate moved FOUR times while waiting for the delayed flight... That's a LOT of moving when you're hauling a cranky 1 year old around the airport long after we were supposed to already be at our destination. Desk attendants were abrupt, not friendly, and diamissive when I came up to ask for a stroller tag."
Pros: "Flight was on time."
Cons: "De-boarding was slow"
Cons: "The touch screens were less than responsive. They weren't very touch sensitive."
Pros: "Left on time from LAX"
Cons: "We booked for British Airways since we have good experience with them before but this is "operated by American Airlines" - not sure why they just don't say American Airlines when booking. It's deceiving!!!"
Cons: "My tickets ultimately were booked through Kayak/webjet. I will never book through webjet again. You can't directly speak with an agent. They never sent me my e-tickets. I couldn't download my tickets prior to arriving at the airport. It was super confusing because I couldn't figure out whether I was flying on British Airways or American Airlines. I didn't know what terminal to go to. I finally checked in with American even after they told me to go to British Airways. Next, American said that my booking was messed up such that they couldn't check my bag through. So at Chicago I had to exit the Secure area, pick up my bag from baggage check, check it back in and go back through security. I still didn't have my ticket for the chicago-barcelona leg of the trip. At American, they told be I had to exit the airport again to go to British Airways for the Chicago- Barcelona leg of the trip. Luckily, i asked another agent and she confirmed my flight was though American. It was the most confusing flight experience, I have ever had."
Pros: "I like AA because they are honest and kind. I received good value for my money."
Pros: "Sat in the exit, very nice and comfortable Crew was very well dressed and polite"
Cons: "Boarding was very disorganized Flight was almost an hour late After getting on the plane, there was at least another 20 minute delay"
Cons: "temperature was too hot and stuffy."
Pros: "Staff was pleasant and efficient. Schedules met my needs."
Cons: "Seats on smaller planes were very tight!!! It's not just your butt in the seat but where do you put your elbows?!?!?!?"
Pros: "Even though flight was full, everything just flowed - no issues."
Cons: "Video was for cabin and not by seat"
