The food, wine/ beer service was same as regular economy, the boarding took place at same time as economy, no drink before take-off if only sparkling water. And the plane was old generation 747 and the entertainment was same vintage: screen was not very bright and the selection of films was poor. No plug to charge electronics. We were disappointed with KLM when comparing with other airline companies offerings when you book in Premium Economy."

On my short flight from Basel to Amsterdam, a young French speaking girl was concerned about how to manage getting to her next gate. The flight attendants talked to her and arranged for someone to take her there. On my longer flight from Amsterdam to New York City, there was a customer who was in distress about missing a previous flight and not making it to her connecting flight in New York. One of the flight attendants reassured her until she stopped crying and calmed down. That same flight attendant was always so positive and cheerful in all she did. The rest of the crew was top notch. This was my best experience flying in such a long time. Well done, KLM crews of flights 1984 and 0645 on July 10!"

Relaxing atmosphere, comfortable seating, great in-flight entertainment, although I have the go-go in-flight data/entertainment plan with t-mobile (highly recommended), the flight included a decent selection of movies, television programs, etc. The food far exceeded typical "airline quality," even for an international flight - and included a fabulous little snack box with locally sourced gourmet and specialty items such as chocolate from Belgium, fine cheeses from France, and crackers from England. Drinks = gratis, and crew was exceptionally attentive and went out of their way to make flight as pleasant as possible."

I'm always shocked by this kind of behavior in some flight attendants. Why didn't she just say, "I'm sorry. We aren't serving hot drinks now"?"

The staff did not know what was happening, and kept us on the plane for almost 2 hours, before letting us off and telling us there were no hotels available. It was a nightmare experience transferring in Toronto. The crew did what they could, but they were largely kept in the dark too."

I was probably the only Black guy in there. I wonder how they found me that seat. It was a Nonstop flight, I will fly China Southern every chance I get because I just want to get from point A to point B. But, I'll be asking more questions about my seat assignment before accepting it."

Staff also had difficulty understanding my English so I gave up on communication."

Cons: "We flew from NYC- JFK to Siem Reap Cambodia and back with the airline. On the way back I was unable to choose seats online prior to boarding. We were placed in Row 63, which is the LAST row on the plane and does not recline. For a 15 hour flight this seating should not be used. It is completely unreasonable to think people will be ok not reclining, and honestly the seats felt more straight up than the normal seats. After discussing it with the crew for half an hour on a full flight they were able to move us to other seats. But were unable to move us to business or first for a discount. End point: these seats should not be used! It was so miserable even thinking we might get stuck with them. And if they do stick people there you should be comped, that was not worth the same fare everyone else payed for coach."

I figured with this layover I could possibly see the city while I waited but a damper was put in those plans. It took me 3 hours to figure out how to acquire the voucher due to not having any assistance from the staff or them not speaking English. The airline basically chose the hotel for me because it would have been another hour wait if I decided to change the hotel. Upon arrival at the hotel I met another passenger that had been in the city for 2 days back and forth to the airport because her connecting flight was late to Guangzhou and the airline had no space on the other flights. The wifi connection at the airport was poor and I was unable to use the food voucher at the time I arrived as it could only be used for breakfast. Their is no wifi offered on flight and the food was okay."

Cons: "When the aircraft took off, I saw air hostess taking turns to sleep in business class seats that was available. Their was three seats available which was kept back for the air hostess to use personally and passengers were refuse the up grade."

Pros: "I liked the foot rest, pillow, blanket and head rest. The entertainment had a great variety of movies, which I enjoyed."

Pros: "I was bumped from economy to business class. This was a unique experience in which I got to travel as a VIP. Economy class with China Southern is better than domestic U.S. carriers, but business class was something else."

Cons: "I did not have a complete ticket until approximately 24-hours before departure and only after I called Airfare.com literally for weeks, and then finally told them I wanted to cancel. Then all legs of the trip were suddenly booked, but seats were not confirmed. I was charged a $450 cancellation fee despite the fact that they did not do their job because I was unable to trust anything they were doing, and subsequently booked my flight direct through Delta. Please keep in mind I purchased the ticket on July 3, 2016 and Airfare.com was unable to provide me a complete ticket until the night of August 16, 2016 with a August 17, 2016 departure date to China! I can honestly say this was the worst travel booking experience I've ever had."

Pros: "I liked that although I didn't request special meal via phone, some fight attendants tried to accommodate me. Others were not having me. I liked that I could look at detailed maps of the flight route. There were excellent movies to watch to kill the long frigging flight."

Pros: "Few people know you have the option to upgrade with China Southern airline onboard. You can get a much more comfortable seat (premium economy) for 150 to 250 dollars. It's totally worth it for long international flights to China!"

Cons: "The plane was filthy. The pillow they gave me was gray for example. I had to wipe everything down first. The biggest surprise was that there was no internet on any of the four flights I took with this carrier. It's 2016 how do you not have internet available? I would not fly this airline again until they can compete with Western airlines."

Pros: "On-time flight. Served food was okay. Entertainment syatem was above average. Flight attendants were nice and attentive. My entertainment console was not working and they lent me a tablet as a replacement."
Cons: "Not the airline fault but some passengers acted selfishly and not thinking about other passengers."

Cons: "They are completely unorganized. You cannot log into their website from the United States to pick your seats because their website is degraded. There is only one phone number and it is in China. Furthermore, expect to wait 30+ minutes for someone to answer the phone. If they do, it will be very static and they don't speak English barely at all. Expect layovers in China (we had two layovers in China on our flight from Tokyo to NYC). There was mass confusion with Chinese immigration workers because they didn't speak English and understand we were simply transiting (for which no visa is required). For the love of God, PRINT YOUR ITINERARY AND BRING IT WITH YOU WHILE YOU TRAVEL. It's the only thing that got us through immigration. We had to recheck our bags and go through immigration and customs several times on our way from Tokyo to NYC. The food is barely edible. And worst of all, you are joined by very pushy and rude Chinese people who spit and hack up their phlegm the entire time. Expect to hear those gross hacking noises from all around the plane. Lucky me, I was seated right next to the leader of the hacking pack. I had to beg a flight attendant to find me a new seat. I would have upgraded to premium economy (as I did for my outbound flight) but they don't let you do it at check-in. Unless you can access the Chinese version of the website, they make you wait until you get on the plane, at which point almost all the premium economy seats are taken (they were in my case)."

It was after midnight when we arrived at Beijing airport. The staff offered no help with re-booking and hotels. I had to spend the night sitting on the cold floor, hungry and anxious till the ticket counter reopened in the morning. The morning staff were even worse than the night crew. They were extremely rude, unprofessional, they lied and insulted customers. Very disappointed with Air China. Will file an official complaint."

Cons: "Air China still doesn’t let you use your phone at all during a flight even on airplane mode which is problematic when all of your music, podcasts, and audiobooks are on your phone. The food was terrible and in a 13 hour flight we were offered no snacks between our two terrible lukewarm meals. The flight attendants were not very helpful or friendly. My boyfriend was having stomach issues and they wouldn’t let them sit in an empty seat next to the bathroom for a few hours. They also booked our tickets with only an hour to switch and had to be rushed through security."

Pros: "This time they have someone stood at the international transfer area to help with passengers who only have a short time to board the next flight. My friend told me that she didn't see this kind of arrangement when she was transfer at Beijing a few years ago and she missed her flight and have to wait for the next flight which was 24 hours later."
Cons: "It seems okay at first. After we landed and by the time I get to the baggage claim area and realized that one of my bag was missing. No one provide any explanation as to why this happens. I have to fill out the Property Irregularity Report and specifically told them to send my missing bag to my work address if my bag is found. The agent told me that before they deliver my bag, they are supposed to call. Two days later, their delivery person came to my work place and do not want to wait for the security guard to call up to get me and took off with my bag. He did not call to inform me of the delivery. I left many messages regarding the incident and no more return my calls or attempt to contact me. They really have very bad customer service. 4 days later, by accident, I spoke with one of the agent and she said they can re-delivery my bag. I found out later that they delivered my bag to my work place at 5AM in the morning. Of course I am in bed and not available to receive my bag. At the time of writing this post, I am 9 days without my bag and I don't know when will I ever get the bag. I will never fly with this airline again and will not recommend to anyone."

Cons: "They tried to screw me over with my reservation from the beginning. No notifications of any changes to my flight or anything. Missed my initial flight going home. Paid another airline to catch my transfer flight and was denied the ability to board. Had to pay for a brand new ticket which I am currently going to dispute with my creditor. They are not American friendly at all. Felt targeted the entire time."

Pros: "Overall a very good job for a low budget flight. The boarding and unboarding process was efficient. The crew was extremely pleasant and helpful, they were constantly monitoring and cleaning the restrooms."
Cons: "The entertainment choices were limited. This was my return flight and since less than half the movie choices (19 total to choose from) were in English (the rest in Chinese with subtitles too small to read on that tiny screen) by half way thru the flight there wasn't anything left to watch:(. The food was very bland, the "shrimp w/noodles" turned out be 6 tiny shrimp with elbow macaroni noodles with absolutely no taste at all (very disappointing). Although there was drinks left in the galley between meals there wasn't any snacks, unlike my first flight from JFK to Beijing, were there were some cookies and fruit also available. Finally, there was an incident with about 5hrs left in the flight were drinks were being served. I had just gotten a glass of orange juice set down on my food tray. No sooner the women sitting in front of me stood up and spilled the entire glass of orange juice in my lap. I call on of the flight attendants for assistance, she was eager to help, unfortunately there wasn't any towels or paper towels or absorbent anything available for her to work with. Fortunately I did have 5hrs to dry!"

Seriously..i paid 5k for this ticket..my bags were checked in to my final destination but at the third destination i was told there was no transfer service ( at guangzhou) snd that i needed to claim it and check it back in even though i cleared immigration at beijing..no one speaks english and will send you in circles around beijing airport..bad bad bad"

Cons: "My first two flights were delayed (1st flight from Changsha to Beijing was delayed for 4 hours and 2nd flight from Beijing to Houston was delayed for 45 mins), so I missed my last flight from Houston to Orlando to go home! And! They lost both of my luggages! Now I'm forced to stay in Houston airport overnight to catch next flight to go home tomorrow morning. Air China did NOT help anything! They wouldn't even help me rebook my flight when they know I will miss my last connect flight."

Pros: "The in-flight crew was amazing for a 13 hour flight they stayed very upbeat. I would fly this airline again because of them. It was also fun to practice my Chinese with them."

Cons: "Getting in contact with Air China for seat assignments was like pulling teeth. They also wake you up every 3-4 hours for drink services and food. The food is nasty, if your sleeping they should let you sleep instead of waking you up."

Pros: "Airfare was a good price."
Cons: "Departure from Newark was 1.5 hours late because of a lame reason, the luggage couldn't be loaded on the plane in a timely manner. When I arrived at Beijing, they encouraged me to run to my connecting flight, even gave me a sticker and had people directing me, but it all seemed like for nothing as I wasn't even fast tracked through security. Not only did I sprint a mile across the terminal for no reason as the flight departed when I arrived at the gate, they couldn't even properly direct me where to get a new ticket for the next flight. About 100 people missed the flight so I don't know why they didn't hold the connecting flight as it was the last one of the day. Very poor service and organization the entire length of the trip. The flight the next day was late as well!"

In contrast, 5!3 man on the other side of me kept elbowing me periodically throughout the flight, and placing his feet in front of my chair directly where mine should go. This was extremely annoying on a 13 hour flight. I will never fly with air china again."

Pros: "Flight itself was good. Comfy business class seat, good food, cabin attendants good. On 777, try and get middle seat so no one needs to climb over someone else to go to the toilet if there seat mate is sleeping."

Cons: "The flight was late. The crew was rude and yelled at everyone in Chinese. They crew gave very small amounts of water (servings the size of a shot glass) and were rude when you asked for more water."
