Cons: "I am not a frequent flier on Cathay. I would say I would think twice before buying my next ticket. Their call centers and counter staff leave a huge amount to be desired. I called their help desk when I couldn't access my reservation. My problem is their systems push your first and middle names together as a first name in their systems so I couldn't access my reservation. I really, really struggled understanding the person on their help desk. Then 48 hours before my flight I tried to book my seats and get my boarding pass. There were no seats for a party of 3 traveling together and only middle seats for the 3 of us. I waited for 20 minutes calling their support center. Of course their team could not help. All seats were booked. Luckily she offered to book my seats for the return and we managed to get the last 3 together in the back of the plane. If you book through Kayak recommend immediately calling to book seat numbers. I have ran out of room but returning from Vancouver their systems didn't read American passports and everyone tried to get tickets issued the staff at the desk laughed when told and said they knew it was a problem....but it did keep the many skiers busy in the self service line:) Also the desk opens 2hours and 59 minutes before departure so don't arrive early"
Cons: "Where to begin....The flight was delayed an hr leaving Hong Kong. Then we were rerouted without notice to Newark International. Upon landing and changing our plans, we were told we were actually proceeding to our original destination in JFK. However, we have to wait for a new crew and we're stuck on the tarmac, on the plane for additional couple hrs. The experience was very aggravating, especially after such a long flight. Additionally, I find Cathays lack of transperancy with their customers very unprofessional. Sad as this is my preferred airline to flight but will take this into account for future bookings."

I very much enjoyed the meals and snacks. Also, the complementary wine was a nice treat and tasted surprisingly good. -The complementary pillows and blankets were nice, warm, and soft. -The flights were on time, much better than American airlines that I've flown on. -The bathrooms were cleaned regularly throughout the flight and were much cleaner and nicer smelling than other airlines that I've been on."
Cons: "The only thing thing that could really be improved upon (which is not as much the airline's fault as the plane manufacturer's fault) is that the economy seats and cabin layout could be more comfortable for long flights. I understand how hard it must be to design a plane that fits that many people and that's comfortable for 24+hrs of flying, but a few improvements could relatively easily be made I think, which would improve the experience dramatically: -If the seats were softer (and perhaps more ergonomically designed with an average person's shape in mind) it would make a world of difference, I think. -Being able to put the arm up on the wall side of the window seat would make it much more comfortable. -Padding on the arms would also help. -Of course more leg space and wider seats would make a world of difference, but I know that is tough to do since space is limited."

The reclining pitch was excellent - even for the people sitting behind. There is a hassock-like panel to elevate one's legs about 45 degrees. Almonds instead of peanuts, a menu option with a main of a nice piece of steak (that could be cut with an airline knife!), amenity kit... Very happy passenger."

Cons: "the correspondence between the staff. On my way to New York, I was brought to the lounge to wait until my boarding will start but nobody picked me up as promised, so I had to walk the way. I needed a wheel chair as well on my way back, extra ordered it at the check in, they said it is noted in the system. But nobody was there to pick me up. When I finally found someone, I was brought to a place, being asked to sit down and wait where I still had to pass stairs to come to the passport controll. From there noone picked me up, so I had to go my way alone with pain in my leg. I don't want to argue, I managed it even with pain but I wonder what happens with people if they cannot walk anymore at all. My advice would be that you work on to improve this service. We extra booked business class but this service was not worth being called business class."

Cons: "To whom this may concern: I am writing to express my absolute dissatisfaction and poor experience with the customer service and lack of working amenities on flight #TK11 leaving Istanbul into New York City, JFK. It was sadly a horrible ending to my trip and left me with a very unfortunate impression of Turkish Airlines. Less than an hour into the flight I spoke with a flight attendant making him aware that the USB port was not working so I was unable to charge my phone the entire flight. In addition, the wifi was not working. This is a huge problem because I planned on working remotely that day and my job was under the same presumption. The attendant blamed my phone and did not take my word that I was unable to connect until I insisted further and another passenger in front of me turned to my rescue and agreed with me stating the wifi was spotty and only worked for a short period of time until ultimately shutting off. The attendant did not apologize but said he would check on the port and the wifi and would get back to me. I followed up several times and he fed me the same lines until I grew frustrated that I was being completely ignored all while losing a day's work. During the last 20 minutes of the flight I decided to finally walk to the back of the plane and follow up for the last time with someone else. I explained the situation to the other attendant who seemed as though this was the first time he was hearing about this issue and he spoke to his chief who gave me a customer feedback form to fill out. No one offered me a different window seat to fix the port problem or even Miles Plus points for the inconvenience even though I requested it. I have never felt more disrespected and dismissed on a flight before this experience. As a star alliance member (CX765361), I frequently fly for work and personal trips and out of loyalty and assurance that I would be able to fulfill my work duties remotely given the features this airline promotes. I chose Turkish Airlines because it was apart of this program. This experience did not uphold the company's reputation and by flying with Turkish Airlines I completely missed a full day's work, deadlines and was behind when I physically returned to work. For the inconvenience, stress, disrespect and empty promises, I am requesting that Turkish Airlines reimburse me the portion of that flight. Best, Rachael"

Cons: "My connecting flight was cancelled twice then delayed. I ended up missing my connection in Istanbul and having to overnight there. Turkish Airlines did provide hotel accommodation to passengers in similar situation, however only after wondering around the airport for over an hour to find the TK hotel desk and waiting for an additional hour to be assigned a hotel room and be transferred there, only to learn that I had to check out within two and a half hours after checking in to be at the airport 4 hours before the flight departs. When I finally arrived at the airport, I had to go through a security screening (because I was not suspicious for having entered the country and exiting only 5 hours later). When all of that was done, I approach the check in desk and asked if my seat can be changed, as I had spent the previous 2 days trying to get on my connecting flight, spending over 8 continuous hours at an airport and having had a nightmare night. I asked for an exit row seat or anything in the front of the plane. I was literal told that if I did not like the seat given I did not have to fly. I took the seat originally assigned and spent 11 and a half hours sitting next to a toilette on the airplane with a crying baby next to me and in front of me. To top it all, it took 2 hours to get my luggage once arrived at JFK. I usually love traveling on Turkish airlines and I understand not all of the above is directly depending on them, but considering how awful the entire experience was and how little I asked to be happy, I found them to be extremely unaccommodating on this occasion."

I ended up purchasing tickets on delta to get to Cancun. However I was under the impression that I would return with Aeromexico on the round trip ticket I had already bought.NO! according to Aeromexico even though you buy a round trip ticket if you fail to use 1 leg of the trip you loose both ways WHAT! Then they refused to allow me to speak to a supervisor it was hands down the worst experience I have ever had with an airline in the 30 yrs that I have been traveling internationally. I would paddle boat rather than use this air again."

I finally called again and was given 2 options: agree to a flight that would DESTROY my vacation or get a refund. Scared and exhausted, I told them I didn't understand, and the flight didn't work, and guess what, they re-booked me anyway, and said that since I was re-booked any change to my ticket would entitles them to my entire $1,100 fare. Aeromexico is a criminal enterprise. Never book with them! Kayak, you should cut all ties with this airline!"

Cons: "I had purchased a ticket to fly from Puerto Escondido to Mexico City on Thursday, November 24. When I arrived at the airport, I came to an airport that was "shutdown". According to a few people I spoke to, it was because of a protest. I was not emailed or notified that I was wasting my time and money trying getting to an airport that wasn't flying out any planes that day. I was very distraught and disappointed because I am a foreigner and there was no representative front the airport or airline that this was happening and what's are the next steps I should take to get on the next plane back to United States. I spent hours and hours calling Aeromar about rebooking my flight for tomorrow so I can get out of this city. It was a nightmare on the phone because it was like the employees were trained not to help. I was told it wasn't their fault, and I need to call aero Mexico to get this straightened out. Not one employee from the many I spoke to consistently throughout the day tried to rebook my flight. They wanted me to pay for another flight which is absolutely ridiculous. I missed my flight because of some protest, something not in my control, and i kept being told too bad. I did not get offfere one solution by your staff. I was left to figure what I was going to do by myself. I didn't leave Puerto Escondido until 24 hours after I was suppose to and it was not by the help of your staff. Because of this, I will highly consider not buying tickets from this airline of their is any other option because it was an awful experience. One of He aero Mexico employees told me to stop acting childish because I was upset about missing my flight for reasons i didn't control. The customer service for aero Mexico was worse then aeromar. They kept blaming aero mar and kept saying they need to figure everything out, yet these two airline work together. Aero Mexico is the one that helps get the flight to other smaller cities. All around I had a miserable day and not one person I called from aero Mexico, like aero mar helped me or offered a solution."

When returning to JFK from Mexico City, I was lucky with my checked bag, but when boarding the flight, an employee had me put my carry-on, my purse, the heavy wool coat I had removed during security, along with a 1.5L bottle of water and other items I'd purchased in the terminal, on a scale, then declared my carry-ons were 4 kilos over the airline's allowance. I then had to head down the terminal to a customer service desk to pay ~$60USD so I'd be allowed to board and not miss my flight. I was the last person on-board. They didn't do this at JFK on my 1st leg of the trip, as I suspect they know they'd never get away with this in the States. I spoke to employees aboard the flight, then at JFK upon arrival, and also on the phone. No luck yet regarding a refund for highway robbery."
Cons: "The JFK airport has no connection between terminal 1 where the domestic flight arrives with terminal 4 where the international flight zone is. I had to take a train from terminal 1 to 3 and then go outside the airport, walk on the street for 3 blocks and get into the airport again. Once inside terminal 4 nobody could help us (we were 20 people doing the same connection) and we went from one person to other asking what to do next and nobody knew. We were so afraid of losing our flight. Finally one police person helped us and we had to pass check point again when we had to take our shoes and be scanned again. Then we had to run because the plane was leaving. This was the worst traveling experience in my whole life. I tweet about it and I had no response."

Cons: "They failed to informed me that passangers have to report to the gate one full hour before direct flights to the US from Abu-Dhabi in order to clear US customs and border security which happens there prior to your flight (which is the only place in the world that this happens.) I arrived at the Airport 2.5 hours before my flight and reported to my gate 45 minutes before my flight and was not allowed through. They then were extremely rude to me when I was in the process of finding a new connection and made me buy a brand new ticket for the following morning as the penalties for rescheduling would cost more than buying a new ticket which was 1200 USD!! They insisted that this warning was on their web site and would have been on my ticket had I got it from their website. Since I purchased my ticket from Kayak.com, that was my own problem. They then showed me a warning label on the baggage claim slip that they gave me at check in but this was only in Arabic with NO ENGLISH translation provided. More importantly the representative who checked me in to my flight never told me about needing to be at the gate 1 hr before the flight. Throughout this whole process they were unapologetic, unsympathetic and rude. I met two other people that same day who had the same problem one of these passangers arrived at the gate 1.5 hrs before her flight and still could not get to her flight in time because of the inefficient customs and immigration process that the Emarati's have in place in an attempt to mimic our process in the US. This is a very bad policy which only Etihad does. If you fly through Dubai with Emirates they do not require this nonsense. The Etihad staff were rude, unhelpful, unapologetic and inefficient. Never fly from Abu-Dhabi to the US with Etihad. On the flight, as the plane came to a stop at the end of the runway but still needed to taxi in to the gate, people started getting up. Instead of calmly explaining to people what was going on, one of the stewardesses waved it off and said well when we start moving again or if something happened they will just DIE then! This was not the only occasion I was disgusted by the staff. I woke up on the flight and couldn't find my glasses and the response of one of the stewardesses was "can you ask someone else to help you, I am on my way to take a nap and if I stop to help you I want get my full rest." This airline is one of the worst in the world if not the worst. I will never fly with them again and I am considering sending these stories to a NEWS network to raise awareness on this issue. Their staff don't care. They seem to be overworked and burned out. They only get one day off when flying to New York and back when by law they are required two. This shows that they are abusive to their staff which then leads their staff to have have horrible customer service."

They came through the cabin several times with drinks and snacks and ensured we had the most comfortable flight possible. I thought the entertainment choices were excellent and really provided a wide array of genres and a unique multicultural assortment. Meals were very good, served in generous portions, and having a vegetarian diet I was happy to be so easily accommodated. I was lucky enough on this flight to have a row to myself so I could spread out."

Etihad's "Transit Travelers" service is one of the WORST customer service desks I've ever been to. I waited in line for 2 hours. Passengers were urging to be served so they can make it to their connecting flights not knowing they have been already selected not to board those plains. Voices were raised and demands were made to speak to the supervisor. It was chaos. I made it to the agent shortly after the gate to my flight had opened. I was shocked by how the agent lacked empathy when he informed me I won't make it to the connecting flight because it had been overbooked. Not an apology or even sir! I was forced to be rerouted which stretches my 25-hour trip to 33 hours. Then the connecting flight gets delayed more than an hour resulting in missing the second connecting flight. Now my trip has become a 41-hour trip, I missed a day of work that's worth more than double the value of the voucher Etihad gave me and lost one day of unscheduled vacation. Etihad even damages my bag that had servived more than 10 flights. I will never fly Etihad and strongly recommend against flying with Etihad."

Cons: "Horrible food plan. We were served an entire dinner 2 hours before landing in New York and mind you it was morning in New York. Instead of serving breakfast, we were given dinner which was again horrible. Worst food plan ever!"

Cons: "I have connected flight ti India but jet blue crew member give me boding pass until JFK. and told me i can't find connect flight and i have to pick up my two 50 pounds bags pick up and take it to ethiad airways terminal. so i have to spend $10 for tolly and i have to hire person to drop my bags on ethihad terminal. suppose to jet blue directly transfer my bags to ethihad and i got my bags on final destination ."

Cons: "1. The flight timings are little odd, but most of the flights going to US are at almost same time, so little to help. Flight takes off at 4.20 am from Mumbai. Its 3 hours flight and peak time to sleep since you are awake for most of the night time on Airport. If you sleep, and miss dinner, you have to wait long for another food since there is overlay of 4 hours @ Abu Dhabi. Also there is only one snacks center after US immigration center, so not much options to eat. Another problem is, flight from JFK to LA is 6 hours flight (JetBlue) and they do not serve food. They have less options to eat and its all chargeable. I was not feeling very hungry at JFK so did not have anything on Airport, thinking that there will be food in flight... but my guess was wrong. Better to eat something either in flight or before taking flight because it reach to LA at 10.00pm and you come out by 11.00pm outside the airport. Just a tip for whoever not aware. :) 2. The crew member (young boy) in my flight (Date: 13-Jan-2016) EY 101 was not having god body language. Not good hospitality and each time he was serving food as if he is doing a great favor. I would say, if you are not interested in this kind of jobs, please look for some other job but don't let down your Airlines reputation."

Pros: "I was on a flight from Paris to NYC yesterday Jan10 -EY3026 or AA121 - that was canceled without a reason with no prior alerts. On top of it the bags are missing till now. This has been the worst experience I have had so far on any flight."

Cons: "The food menu listed three options, one was vegetarian. When the cart came around, there were no vegetarian meals left. Instead of apologizing, as these things happen, the flight attendant told my traveling partner and I that we should have specified for a special meal, that vegetarian was special (even though it was offered on the menu as a regular choice). She was incredulous that we would not eat meat, stating that they had plenty of chicken and fish options, as if my vegetarianism was a fad or I was a child. Instead of simply apologizing for the gaff and offering us something else, she seemed put off and bothered that we wouldn't accept a meat tray. Also, this was the smallest leg room and personal space I've ever had on such a long flight."
Cons: "Rude air-hostess. When I asked for whatever in the break area, she pointed me to a bottle of water and a plastic cup. Not the service I expect. No vegetarian food on board? When most of your customers are vegetarians? Flight didn't have a USB charging port."

Cons: "1. Check-in process highly inefficient - unable to check-in via website prior to flight to obtain boarding pass - Kiosk at airport unable to recognize my reservation confirmation number. Thus, was unable to check-in at kiosk. - Was forced to wait in line with other passengers who planned to submit luggage even though I only had carry-on baggage, which extended this waiting period in this line. - This occured both on my outbound and inbound flights 2. Consideration should be given to an expedited check-in line for those passengers who have carry-on baggage only. 3. Public announcement system in plane difficult to hear. 4. Delayed takeoff at Abu Dhabi approximately 3hours!! This was reported to be due to delay in US customs pre-clearance at Abu Dhabi. This seems to be a risky proposition given that boarded passengers are at risk for missing their connecting flights at the destination. 5. Signage at Abu Dhabi is quite poor. Difficult to determine which direction to proceed for connecting flights."
