Top tips for finding cheap flights to India

  • If your flight from Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) to Indianapolis International Airport (IND) is scheduled to depart between 5:00 a.m., and 8:00 a.m., Transportation Security Administration (TSA) recommends arriving 2 hours in advance for domestic travel. CLT is also busiest on Monday, Tuesday and Friday, so you can factor that in when planning your arrival at the terminal.
  • If you’ve cleared security checkpoints with a few hours to spare, you can wait for your flight to Indianapolis at the Club CLT in Concourse A or the Centurion Lounges on the mezzanine level at the intersection of Concourses D and E – it’s accessible Airside to all Gates. The Delta Sky Club, located past the security checkpoint on Concourse A, offers a premium lounge that passengers can access using miles, a purchased day pass or an airline membership.
  • Located on the second floor of Concourses B and A, above restaurants, is the Charlotte Douglas’s Mother’s Room, equipped with breastfeeding and breast pumping amenities, a sink, bench, and changing table. Private Lactating Rooms at IND are on the main level of the terminal, pre-security and post-security at Concourses A and B. If you’re planning to carry powder or expressed milk at the airport, make sure it’s no more than packages of 3 ounces and declared for inspection at the TSA checkpoint.
  • Passengers traveling with companion animals to IND can find Pet Relief Areas at Concourse A across from Harry & Izzy’s and Concourse B across from Gate B5 near Tinker Coffee, post-security. CLT has five indoor pet areas after security, Concourse A and an indoor option in Baggage Claim before security. If yours is not a support animal, Charlotte Douglas Pet Policy dictates that non-working pets should be leashed or remain confined in their respective carriers while within the terminal.
  • Charlotte Douglas International Airport is part of the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Lanyard Program that supports travelers with hidden disabilities such as autism, anxiety, visual and hearing impairment and dementia. When we checked in at the Siem Reap Airport in Cambodia, we were only given three boarding passes and told that we would have to check in with American when we arrived in Boston. This was a source of stress for us. After we landed in Boston, we had a long passage from Terminal E to Terminal B (American Airline ticketing counter). Because the electronic ticketing kiosks for check-in would not recognize our Confirmation Code, we had to wait for an hour in a long line where only two AA reps were taking care of Special Services passengers. In many years of both business and recreational travel, I have never had this experience. I would expect more from AA being in partnership with other airlines to do a better job with this.

When we checked in at the Siem Reap Airport in Cambodia, we were only given three boarding passes and told that we would have to check in with American when we arrived in Boston. Our experience on the Doha to Hyderabad segment was extremely stressful due to prolonged delays and a lack of clear communication from the airline. We were traveling as a family, including children, and the uncertainty around timing and next steps caused significant distress. There was very little proactive information provided during the delay, and we were not given clear written explanations about what was happening or how long it might take. This made it difficult to manage the situation, especially while caring for children in a transit environment. In addition, one member of our party was ultimately unable to continue travel, which added to the emotional strain and disruption of the trip. Overall, the experience highlighted gaps in communication, customer care, and handling of unexpected situations. We are sharing this feedback so that future passengers, especially families, are supported with clearer communication and better assistance during irregular operations.

The seat cushions are absolutely lacking, not sure if they know the passengers are traveling for 14 hours straight, but the padding made our back and butt ache like crazy. The entertainment console had its own problems, either the headphone jack wasn't working or the power outlet via usb or ac outlet was not working. Not to mention the seat handles were not adjustable in some planes in the middle or on the aisle. Qatar/Indigo may be operating a very old fleet of planes to make as much profit as possible, but passengers may not be following them for long, should this treatment of its customers continue. Qatar/Indigo, wake up and do it right by your customers, or they may not be your customers anymore.

It would help id flight crew were not rude and showed some courtesy. They were shouting at passengers and yelling instructions as if we were school children at lunch cafeteria!!

Looks like a local flight. Food was horrible. No entertainment system.

All good. Over four hours flight if provided snacks like Qatar Airways would be better

Lobster starter in business class was not good, tough, served cold, and without butter. Movie selection was missing latest releases, did not offer older classic, high quality movies

Food was absolutely pathetic. I wasted so much food which I thought was inedible. I also loathe the inflight entertainment system which has very little content

My entire row did not have power for the full duration of a 14.5 hour flight. Could not charge any devices such as laptop or phones for the entirety of the long flight. The flight attendants tried to remedy the issue by resetting the power, but were not successful. The only other solution provided was to move me to another seat on the plane which was in the middle row. I had paid for a “preferred” seat that was a window seat. This was a downgrade being offered due to the power issue.

Nothing to complain. The staff and flight was good especially the seats which was better compared than the cloth ones on Qatar airways

Good service. But on flight to Kochi no entertainment except in app. And no working outlets to charge phone.

It was fantastic. The flight from Chicago to Abu Dahbi was fantastic. The crew, food and service were amazing. Everything was handled by the crew member assigned to us , Nicholas, was usually done before we asked for it. Highly recommend Etihad!

Was so disappointing. Business class with no TV, uncomfortable seats. Had much higher expectations.

It was an old plane with seats not comfortable and with little space for the legs. I must say that the previous flight I had was amazing on a very comfortable new plane

I missed my flight ,staff unhelpful, they sat and watched me wait ,gangway door closed, English was a problem no announcement I was on time now I missed my month vacation ,lost 1400 bucks no refund I'm sick to my stomach

It’s a business class ticket but they didn’t give a lounge access

Crew was amazing as usual. Very comfortable for a 13hour flight. Check in at ATL was terrible. Ticket counter charged me $200 for a small bag. Apparently Kayak sold me a zero luggage ticket. No carry on no checked. So the check in desk charged me a bullshit $200 dollar fee for a small gym bag weighing less than 20lbs. In true 3rd party ticket buying. This will turn into a finger pointing process between Kayak and Etihad. Now I'm going to have to ship my bag back in the mail a day ahead of my return flight.

The flight from Abu Dabhi to Bangalore was terrible. The plane was an order model with no onboard entertainment. The beverage selection were very limited.

excellent, the staff was kind and the boarding process was with no issues or hassle

My baggage was not boarded and is still missing. I was only carring one piece of luggage and that is misplaced now I am stuck at mumbai without luggage. I had an onward journey from here

Flight was smooth, quick and felt safe. The 2 delays not happening would have been better but I guess that happens in the airline industry

2 hour delay due to equipment failure. No updates via the app and airport screens (which continued to show a departure time in the past). AA eventually switched planes and the new plane was not catered or cleaned correctly.

Could we please end the loud announcements about credit card offers on your flights? We are trying to sleep, work, watch videos, etc. and if we need a credit card, we will ask for one. Flying is already not what it used to be.

Bags took over and hour to come out. Delays due to wind caused rebooking.

Lower WiFi prices; allow us to see our flight on a map; more variety of drink choices.

Flight was on time is the only good thing. Person loading the plane called 1-6 to board at the same time, made it chaotic. Plane was too small for even putting backpacks in overhead. Seat for normal sized people were too small. The WIFI didn't work. When we landed had to wait because not enough ground crew.

Waaay too small plane. They also need to up the size of the overhead bins. I would love to keep me 3k with of camera equipment in my hard case baggahe instead of it being thrown into the belly of the plane

After arriving in Dallas, the aircraft taxied for an unusually long time and was unable to park at the gate, which caused a significant delay and made me miss my connecting flight. I then had to wait in a very long line to be rebooked, and I was told that no hotel or meal accommodations would be provided. What is even more unacceptable is that my luggage was mishandled and has still not been located. My suitcase contains important medications that I urgently need, and I have been unable to access them due to the airline’s mishandling. This situation has caused me considerable stress and inconvenience, and I need this issue to be resolved immediately.

Flight was delayed because of a bird strike. They had another plane available within 45 minutes.

You can plug your phone in & use their wifi to watch movies, etc, but the plane’s wifi was disconnected for most of the flight.

I had a good comfortable seat. There was nearly an hour delay. There was an accident with the champagne, but I was well compensated. These things happen sometimes.

Service and food were excellent. Incredibly friendly and competent staff. Flight was delayed over and hour and I had to run between terminals to get my connecting flight.

Boarding was by group and we had to take the bus. There were no elevators so had to walk down the stairs. It would help to have escalators or elevators. Note I had a special needs child and the gate crew was rushing us in. The bus was full but we were packed with no seats to sit.

The food from Delhi to Frankfurt went bad or something cause I got sick after I ate the meal and felt ill the rest of my travel back to NY

Everything was on time, even though the layover in Frankfurt was 22hrs

Trip was smooth, good drew, average meal, almost cold coffee. Excellent landing. Did not enjoy going down the stairs, walking to the gate, walking up the stairs, going a long walk to the exchange gate, and going down the stairs again to be bussed all the way where we originally landed to take our next flight! Over all an average experience. Thank you.

Poor food on flight between Toronto and Stockholm Airport Toronto too crowded

Very friendly, service oriented and responsive crew. Very pleased with th service!

The entertainment is pretty boring. There are no new movies or TV shows from February. The food is just ok on the Atlanta to Frankfurt leg, but better on the Fra to Bengaluru leg.

Flight was great only departure was delayed to saome ground crew issues

My enetertainmnet screen was broken. Lost my bags. Almost missed my flight do to connection issues with (despite a request) ZERO help from crew. Food was edible. Potatoes pretty good even

Our Jackson, Mississippi to Dallas Fort Worth flight was delayed on 1/19/26.. This was changed to Jackson to Charlotte in the last minute because of this delay. This started some kind of disconnect between American Airlines and British Airways bookings. We could not go past the passport control in London Heathrow. I had to go to the counter and waited for more than 30 minutes to get a new boarding pass. Problems did not end there. Somehow our entire return flight was canceled by someone. I had to make several phone calls over several days to fix the problem – this was not easy from India. Looks like there was some kind of disconnect between two airlines or some agent did not do it right. I’m anxious to know what went wrong.

The issue was not with BA it was with the link yoiu sent fopr booking the flight

Loved the boarding option from Business class lounge, experience on flight was excellent, plenty of good food choices

Getting the boarding passes between the BA and AA apps was very clunky.

The airline was not clear about a new departure time so we got to the airport early anyway. The flight left early which was great because of weather. The check in process was very easy and staff were friendly and helpful. The crew was great and our flight was very good.

Awful it always is unfortunately is the only way to fly direct to london

The business class seating arrangement for LHR to MAA was very uncomfortable. The movie options were terrible.

Even in business class, no 2 members of our family including kids were able to sit together. I booked the tickets months in advance. The all my luggage was left in London and arrived 2 days later. It took hours to report the missing luggage at the airport and 3-4 hours to recover one of the bags from the airport with mind bending amount of paperwork. Worst experience ever, I would seriously reconsider traveling by British Airways again.

I travelled in business class and was disappointed by lack of service, curt and borderline rude time of the crew and to top it off, all of my luggage was delayed. It was like pulling teeth to even report the missing luggage and recover it the next day from the airport.
