Pros: "I feel like there is more leg room in the seats then in other discount airlines! I like the snack and drink, this breaks up the flight a bit. This is nice for me because I don’t like to fly."

Cons: "There was not enough fuel to make the connection in Charlotte as well as mechanical issues with getting the luggage off the plane resulting in being stuck over night. Also they lost my bag."
Pros: "Convenient departure time originally"
Cons: "Late start due to needing more fuel because of weather at the destination. So after everyone had boarded, at the minute we were supposed to take off, they beg for 2 volunteers to get off the flight to compensate for the weight of the excess fuel. Eventually 2 people b3came annoyed enough to get off and take a $200 voucher (probably for another delayed flight.) so we were late taking off for that. At our destination there were clear sunn6 skies. Extra fuel was needed for that. So I was stuck in a seat the size of a child’s car seat for an extra 40 minutes? And when we could finally get off, my legs had fallen asleep ffrom being too squeezed in for that relatively short flight. When will the airlines focus on the passengers’ safety & comfort and not on excessive profits?"

Cons: "Co-pilot didn’t Board the plane and flight got delayed for 2 hrs. Most probably AA knew that co-pilot didn’t arrive and they still boarded everybody only to be left stranded on tarmac. that’s totally unacceptable. And we all could have waited in the terminal. Hope they fix that problem for future purposes. Similar major delay by 6 hrs with a previous travel and they finally cancelled the flight. It’s just getting worse with AA delays."

Cons: "Our honeymoon started off with American airlines delaying us by 3 hours in Miami causing us to miss our flight to Iceland and now we are stuck in Dallas paying out of pocket for everything because American does not reimburse anything. Just brutal."

Cons: "charged a surprise of $175 for my third bag although Kayak mentioned i should be charged $75 at the time of booking. AA says it is due to Jordanyan Airlines, why was I surprised by this extra charge?!"
Cons: "The connecting flight from Raleigh to Philly was cancelled so we missed the flight to Manchester. We booked , through Kayak, with British Air and paid extra for premium economy and the actual carrier, American, doesn’t know how to process a refund and no such seats are available on our rebooked flight 24 hours later so it has been frustrating."

Cons: "Although I should now be at my final destination, I still have 11 hrs of travel to go. My flights were changed three times. The first cancelation caused me to buy new tickets at a higher price I had originally purchased them at. We were redirected from Kayak to Vayamo and they have no sense of customer service. Horrible"

Cons: "Checking-in at CDG was very inefficient, it took forever, even though it was automated. Having to put my own tags on my bag is not great, especially if they fall out. No personal screen for entertainment on a transatlantic flights? Really -it's 2017? Food was really bad - all packaged snacks."

Pros: "It was nice having 2 seats to myself, although there was a 45 minute delay in leaving, we still arrived nearly on time."
Cons: "We had a delay in leaving. People were told they could move around to a different seat because there were so many open. Then they allowed more people on so they had to get people to move back. I stayed in my original seat but others were upset and it was too much confusion going on."

Cons: "I booked the flight with Kayak and it showed the airline as Finnair, the flight was actually with American, no complains about it. The issue was that Kayak did not update me with the Flight number for American Airlines and kept sending me information about the flight with Finnair which was not going to actually take place. I had to actually call American and spend time with a Representative providing all the data to be able to get my American Airlines flight booking code so I could check in online. American as always was great! Shame on Kayak!"
Pros: "•Boarding was easy - small plane. •No crazy flight maneuvers, so I guess good pilots"
Cons: "•Cash only for drinks?! C'mon AA, it's 2017. •Charging for checked bags is greedy, I don't care if others do it, that's not a good excuse + Southwest doesn't charge. •Plane left 30 min late (and arrived 30 late), then had to sit on Tarmac waiting for a gate. •Placed us at the farthest bagged claim from our arrival gate (all bagge claims walking up to ours were empty), so thanks for thinking of the customer first there. •I reserved an aisle seat, they changed me to window without asking. Thanks. •Overall, there are too many other choices in airlines... I may just be one customer, but this is one less they'll have, as other major carriers haven't ever racked up this amount of annoyances in a single trip with me before."

Pros: "Flight attendant, Billy, on flight to Chicago encouraged everyone to help each other figure out how to manage close connection times due to a long delay leaving Charlottesville. He then arranged for folks with short times to move forward. We would never have made our connection without him. Gate agents also kept the door open for us as we dashed to our connecting flight and hustled us on board. Amazingly the ground crew also got our luggage transferred in the short 10 minutes we had. Thank you American!"
Pros: "As somewhat experienced travelers, we know to keep carry on luggage as tight as possible. I was pleasantly suprised to see that overhead bins were not full! We didn't have seats next to each other initially, but the gate agent put us in the exit row with extra legroom!"

Cons: "The plane was 2 hours late . It was in the hsngar. They said they were fixing the plane. It was an old plane. No Screen anywhere . It was 5.5 flight across country. Only pretzels. I will try not to fly American again."
Cons: "As I boarded the plane, they were trying to get me to check my carry on item when my bag fit the dimensions. It clearly fit in the luggage sizer, but the representative was quick to want to take my bag."

Cons: "When we bought our tickets we asked about how much time to allow between the London flight and our connection to Knoxville. We booked expecting to take the early connection if we could get thru customs early enough. We did, asked for boarding passes and were told it would cost $150.00 to take the earlier flight...so we sat for more than 3 hours waiting for our connection, after buying over $2,000 in airfare, traveling for 24 hours and seeing a partly empty plane leave Charlotte for Knoxville. We were the given the back two non reclining seats on the flight, even though we had booked weeks in advance...so no we felt very let down at the end of a difficult trip."
