Jamaica has reopened its borders to international travelers.
Jamaica has extended the travel ban on flights from the UK until at least March 22.
Travelers residing in Jamaica for a minimum of six continuous months in a calendar year must complete a travel authorization before departure.
Travelers not residing in Jamaica must present a travel authorization before departure obtained at https://www.visitjamaica.com.
Residents of the US, Brazil, Dominican Republic, Mexico and Panama are required to present a medical certificate with a negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test result issued within 10 days prior to departure.
Effective on March 4 until March 10, travelers must have a medical certificate with a negative COVID-19 antigen or PCR test result test result issued within 10 days prior to departure.
Effective on March 11, travelers must have a medical certificate with a negative COVID-19 antigen or PCR test result issued within 72 hours prior to departure.
Children under the age of 12 are exempt from testing requirements.
Effective on March 4, passengers traveling on business are subject to a COVID-19 RT-PCR test upon arrival, at their own expense.
Travelers are subject to medical screening and could be subject to a 14-day quarantine.
Travelers arriving from the UK are subject to a 48-hour state quarantine and PCR testing. Travelers who test negative will be fitted with an armband for monitoring and released to complete the 14 day quarantine at home, while those found to be positive will be isolated in state facilities until recovered. Travelers can be picked up from the quarantine facility once quarantine is completed.
All travelers arriving in Jamaica will be subject to the following quarantine requirements:
Category 1: Jamaican nationals and non-nationals ordinarily resident in Jamaica - may be subject to testing if assessed as high-risk and are required to remain in quarantine at home for 14 days from their date of entry to Jamaica.
Category 2: Non-residents visiting Jamaica for tourism purposes and staying at approved “resilient corridor” accommodation - may be tested at the airport or a designated facility, and would wait for the results in travelers hotel rooms. If the test is negative, they would remain at their hotel/resort within the “resilient corridor” and restricted to property under the “Stay in Resilient Corridor” measure. Details of ‘resilient corridor’ accommodation can be found on the Visit Jamaica website.
Category 3: Non-residents visiting Jamaica for business purposes - all residents of the US, Brazil, Dominican Republic, Mexico and Panama travelling to Jamaica for business purposes are required to upload a COVID-19 RT-PCR test in order to obtain a Travel Authorization. The test should be conducted within 10 days of the intended travel date. Business travelers will also be tested on arrival at the airport in Jamaica. They will wait for their test results under a “Quarantine for Business Traveller” measure at their hotel/intended address. If the test is negative, they would be released from quarantine and be under a “Stay at Intended Address for Business Travellers” measure for a period of 14 days from their date of entry to Jamaica or for the duration of their stay if shorter than 14 days.
Category 4: Non-residents visiting Jamaica for other purposes including tourists not staying within the “resilient corridor” - travelers who are not required to pre-test may be required to be tested at the airport or other designated facility, if assessed by the health authorities as high-risk. They will then wait for their test results under quarantine at their hotel/intended address. Whether they need to be tested or not, travelers need to remain in quarantine at home for 14 days from the date of entry to Jamaica. If travelers needed to be tested and the test is negative, they must remain in quarantine at home for 14 days from the date of entry to Jamaica.
Travelers tested positive for COVID-19 will be isolated either at home or in a government facility as determined by the health authorities.

The seats did not recline and there was limited leg look because the exit row seats were aligned differently due to the crew seat next to the door. Also, the bathroom was right in front of the row in front of us and so it was busy, noisy and smelled. Obviously we didn't get our free drinks either. Now I'm having to fight with American trying to get a refund of the money we spent for the Main Cabin extra fees. The fun never stops. I will never fly American again."

I was very disappointed a 757 was used for an international flight! No attempt was made by staff to accomodate our family with a extra seat for the infant, even though there were a large number of rows with empty middle seats (4 of which were directly behind them!) The 1st indication of the beginning of the NIGHTMARE was when the plane arrived in Chicago and overshot the gate, this caused almost an hour delay! (We heard our crew saying "oops" while looking out the window at the plane arriving & then again when they were discussing it would have been faster if the plane had used a different method to get to the gate again.) This was then followed by a mechanical problem with a frozen water valve, requiring us to be de-iced x2! Then we started to taxi out and again had to return because of a hydraulic problem that required repair. I think we were delayed almost 3.5 hours. The crew did bring a round of water during the onground delays, and offered free drinks later in the flight. The icing on the cake was not getting the stroller back at the gate because there were no baggage handlers. I can't tell you how much FUN that was trying to corral a toddler & 3yr old with all our carry-on bags while getting thru customs! Did I mention in our haste to get off that plane we overlooked my daughter's winter maternity coat in the overhead! May be time to switch to the Friendlier Skies of United for our UK travel!"

I agree with the call from the Captain. It's a pity that the poor quality of service team in LAX (probably 1-2 individuals) caused tremendous inconvenience to passengers and crew."

Pros: "First off I’m a Diabetic and some of my diabetic medication and or supplies are with me and some in my LOST checked luggage. I currently say lost because it Day 3 in Ibiza and the luggage never left Newark with my flight originally and is supposedly in Barcelona while I’m here. Called everyday for updates on my bag and they give you very little useful info. Oh and the 7:45 departure last Thursday didn’t leave until 2:30am, then they kicked us out of our economy plus seats picked for comfort and tossed us in middle aisle seats some place else which were ridiculously uncomfortable. There’s no entertainment except in first class and this is a 777 huge jet. Filing a claim, sending a letter to their ceo, a letter to he DOT, and grabbing a good lawyer friend for counsel on this because it’s a disaster. I had to buy everything I needed which isn’t enough and I’m also running out of diabetic supplies since the rest I’d my lost / delayed luggage. So delayed flight by 6hrs, kicked out of original seats, lost and delayed luggage, airlines seems to refuse to send it to my hotel through other carriers, 3days and no luggage and wondering if they are going to send it to Ibiza while I’m heading back to Barcelona today. No one calls me or emails or updates me on any status changes of where my bag is and what’s going on. Their customer service sucks and it’s some guy or girl in another country who gives no fks about your situation. I will never fly with United again"

Now I have wasted PTO time that I can't get back and wasted money at our resort that I wasn't able to get back. One of the agents at Bradley International Airport Sammy put her hands on my friend and screamed in her face USING FOUL LANGUAGE with a line full of people and their children waiting to check in. It was unprofessional and uncalled for. We did get police and management involved. The overall experience was terrible."
Pros: "Only good thing was the crew. They were good natured even though a roundtrio flight if six hours took 25 because of delay after delay"

Cons: "I have a bag that I have travelled with as a very on for years and I know that it fits in the overhead compartments of this size plane, but on both outbound and inbound I was made to gate check. Upon boarding there was plenty of room in the bins. The waiting at the end of each flight made the gateway crowded and replanting inefficient. Either have all bags checked upon check in with stricter guidelines or put overhead items into a lottery system."

Pros: "Not bad overall. I was exhausted at one point and passed out in my chair. I would have missed my flight if the gentleman boarding people hadn't noticed and woke me up to ask if I should be on the flight. I was out so deeply that I hadn't heard any announcements. There wasn't any food on the three flights but a cookie waffle thing and that was all I had during the 13ish hours I was on planes. The staff was super awesome and nice. Space wasn't any different than other planes, but tight on the first flight. I got lucky on the last two."
Cons: "I was starving and literally dehydrated. I was so thirsty."
Cons: "The flight got delayed and we were told it was "basically cancelled" so we got on a different flight out for the morning but were told we couldn't get a hotel voucher because we volunteered to get off the flight. Very disappointed, will never fly united again. The flight ended up getting cancelled 5 minutes after we "volunteered" to get a different flight too. Luckily we were able to get onto a different airline who helped us out. United dropped the ball big time."
Pros: "Everything was perfect - the pretzel packs looked like they were from 2007 and stale but I don't care about that. The pilots landing there and back were like we landed on clouds - not a single bump or jolt. The flights left on time and arrived early. The staff at gate and plane were so helpful and happy and knew how to do their jobs and not opposed to doing it with a smile. I have flown over the world and these two flights on united were the best."
Cons: "The important things were perfect - the pretzels were stale but who really cares about pretzels! The pilot is the most important and they were great!"
Pros: "The flight itself was great.. However the experience at the airport was terrible.. After placing several calls prior to my departure date to confirm that my 40 inch TV was ok for transportation , it wasn't until I got to the airport to find out that I was unable to take the TV or the TV stand.. I live in Philadelphia and had nowhere to leave it causing me to give it to a stranger in order to make my flight . I am very distraught that the information indicating there was an embargo restricting the transportatione of TV greater 32 inches or boxes to Montego Bay was not given during any of those calls.. I don't understand why that information was not sent in an email prior.. On top of that I placed a call to customs in Montego Bay and was adviced that the embargo is enforced by the airline not customs... If I could some how get some answers regarding this I would appreciate it..."
Pros: "Air traffic control stopped all flights to Chicago, so my itinerary got changed and ended up taking American Airlines."
Cons: "Because it didn't go anywhere."
Cons: "The crew missed 6 rows in their beverage service and when someone in those rows asked to be served they acted like the rows were lying, my row was one of the ones skipped and when they begrudgingly came back to serve us they ignored the Chinese man sitting next to me and didn't bring him anything to drink they also refused to serve a snack when someone wanted to buy one. If I can ever fly other airlines than United I do and this experience confirms why."

Cons: "The reclining seats only work if you are shorter than 187cm I'm taller and so I had to bend my knees as there is nowhere else for your legs to go! The Chardonnay was warm - when served with tasty smoked salmon turned me off. The pillow was a $2 one lumpy and next to useless it's too big for the room you have. My entertainment system was reset three times and it still didn't work properly - no sound and no ability to watch movies that were not child rated. Stewards have to learn to be quiet as some of us are trying to sleep on a 15 hour flight and aren't interested in their laughs and jokes as we are travelling business first because we have to go to work when we get there!!"
