It was not until I went to the security line when they found a mismatched name. I was asked to go through security THREE TIMES. And then at the gate, I was supposedly "randomly selected" for ANOTHER swab/swipe security check. The flight itself was uncomfortable. There are not enough bathrooms for the number of people seated on the flight. The entertainment was the only excellent and recommendable thing about this delta flight."

Those of us with connecting flights are royally f*cked at that point, especially if your connection is short, as mine was. The so-called shuttle to the departure terminals, which are entire kilometers away, was to arrive in like half an hour. HALF AN HOUR. Who has this time to spare?? The alternative to the shuttle is paying a taxi that charges a hefty fare--and God help you if you don't have cash. The departures terminal was swamped and only thru begging assistance and line cuts did I make my connection...and then only by the skin of my teeth. It was a complete nightmare."

When we finally boarded at 5 we got peanuts in first class. That was worth the mileage upgrade. Upon landing there was a 1/2 wait on the tarmac to get a gate. That same plane, upon taking off back to DTW blew a tire upon take-off, had to do an emergency landing and everyone had to spend the night in NOLA after being delayed all day."

The lady behind the desk appeared to be junior staff and had to wait numerous time to ask her co-workers for help. By the time they helped her, she told me that it was too late to make the flight (even though I discovered later that the departure time was even postponed)! As a result, I arrived in Medellin 4-5 hours later than planned, causing me to miss a tour that I had scheduled for that afternoon, for which I was not refunded. First time using Copa Airlines was unfortunately not a good one."

Our flight from Panama City, Panama to Boston, MA USA was cancelled due to snow. Not the Copa fault; however, rebooking the flight from Santiago back through Panama to Boston was very difficult even though we call the day prior after noticing the cancelled flight on the Copa website. We were successful; however, it took multiple calls and multiple delays on hold to make it happen. No e-mail confirmation was ever received; however, we were able to confirm the flight via the website. We were also unable to confirm the flight status on the website. Maybe it was a special flight or something, but from the customers view, it was discomforting."

Pros: "It was absolutely horrible customer service. not to mention we arrived with 20 minutes until take off and they still would not let any of us try and catch our flight that was two gates down and very easily obtainable. especially with no checked luggage. I tried to get on an overnight to get me to New Orleans early the nextmorning so i would not miss the festival I already bought tickets for and they would only comp us a new flight with one connection when it was THEIR fault. as we were figuring out new flights, I heard the final boarding call for my flight....it was absolutely terrible. the customer service reps did not have answers for most of our questions. Then when we were leaving to go to hotel the shuttle was a junk show. one of the drivers walked off and was arguing with a copa airlines representative. when he finally came back some peoples bags were mixed in other shuttles and we had to all get out and get on another larger shuttle and put all the luggage on the smaller ones. The only perk was that the hotel was nice for the 9 hours we had there. I am not sure I will ever fly Copa again."

Also I would imagine that during Covid-19 these companies would do a better job of not overbooking flights but all of my flights with American this past weekend were overbooked. Which delayed us even longer as they searched for volunteers to adjust their flights. In today's age of technology the idea that they are still overbooking planes makes no sense to me in the slightest. I will be walking, driving or taking a boat before I fly American Airlines again."
