Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "Fine, perfectly adequate for a tiny plane on a short flight."
Cons: "There are so many airlines in the world that refresh their fleets. This was like a trip back in time to airlines of the 1980s."
Pros: "Plane wasn’t full, crew was great"
Cons: "They could have better food options for a 7 hours flight."
Pros: "The crew in the plane was very nice. The pilot gave us many updates. There was available entertainment on flight."
Cons: "The plane was again delayed. 4 flights with United, ALL 4 flights delayed. Plane is not quite comfortable. Boarding was messy. Could use lane for group 1 once they are boarded for all the other groups or have 2 ppl boarding for faster smoother turn around."
Cons: "Very small screens, poor service when flight was delayed from boarding hostess"
Pros: "Straightforward, smooth flight."
Cons: "One quirk, announced carousel 23 for bags, but no mention of the alphabet A or B. Curious, there should be a way to put the under-seat bag not to deep, up one can stretch legs over it."
Cons: "A lot of turbulence on this flight, often interrupting cabin service."
Pros: "I upgraded to premium economy and was glad I did. Extra space and and empty chair next to me."
Cons: "For a 9 hour flight, food wasn't filling nor was there enough. I wouldn't have even minded paying a little extra for snacks but a small dinner and small sandwich as a snack was all there was. Plenty of drinks though. My day did not recline all the way, I only got it to move an inch or so."
Pros: "Food and crew were fabulous"
Cons: "Entertainment is a train wreck - not work after paid 7.99 x 2"
Pros: "Left a little early"
Cons: "Smaller seats, no video or music options on a almost four hour flight. Why United why?"
Cons: "Seats were small with not much leg room"
Pros: "The sound system had been down most of the flight. Butter cube was completed melt. Bread was cold in the center."
Cons: "Entertainment system. Rarely does an international flight not equipped with TV screen on back of chair. It's so ancient to have overhead screen"
Pros: "The crew were friendly and courteous. And the food was delicious."
Cons: "My legs hurt during the flght and I couldn't get pills for air sickness, plus a half-an-hour delay. Also, my screen didn't work properly, which needs repair."
Pros: "Friendly flight attendants"
Cons: "Terrible food. Cramped, uncomfortable seats. No in-flight entertainment, app did not work."
Pros: "I liked that the captain communicated with the passengers about delays and the reasons for the delays over the intercom."
Cons: "I feel that I was treated by the employees at the boarding desk and by the customer service attendants as if I were garbage!!!! I was attempting to purchase an upgrade in my seating to avoid very uncomfortable swelling on my right ankle and other personal reasons. As I inquired with the man at the boarding gate about purchasing the upgrade I was told that there were none available. So I pulled out my tablet with the united airlines app and showed him the image of the empty business class seat that I would like to purchase on the seating map available in the app. He told me that he had no option on his computer screen to sell me the seat. I asked him where could I go or who could I ask to get the seat. This back and forth continued for some time where he kept saying he could not sell me the seat but I would then say, “I understand that, but do you know who can or where I can go to find someone who knows where I can buy an upgrade?” The attendant got VERY VERY upset that I was even ASKING. As if I were asking for some OUTRAGEOUS request!! I asked to speak with the manager several times. He continued by ignoring me and just saying NO! Finally he pointed to some lady beside him. I don't know if she was the manager or not, but she was on the phone and barely gave ten seconds of a glance to the situation. He asked me"Are you gonna go or not?" I could tell that he cared absolutely nothing about me or my request and was extremely dismissive in asking me this. Finally, he dismissively told me to ask the flight attendant. I could tell that this young man would be of no further help AT ALL, so I gave my ticket, went on board and thought to just try and ask a flight attendant. Right before I went to give my ticket to the man who was taking tickets, I heard the boarding gate man walk away mumbling how ANNOYING I was in Chinese. I know this because I SPEAK Chinese. This is HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL!! I continued to go on board hoping the flight attendants might actually have some information. When I asked, who I thought was the flight attendant, about purchasing a seat, it turns out that she was the customer service agent on the flight, she gave no effort to even try to hear what I was communicating to her. I know about communication and as a public speaking instructor, I know how to listen and to speak. She continued to raise her voice and talk over me, although I remained very calm and tried talking to her logically. I tried to communicate to her that I was attempting to purchase one of the empty business class seats that I had seen were empty. I checked the seating of the flight from the united airlines app before I had even boarded the plane. The lady continued to be very rude and uncaring. She talked over me, did not listen, her responses did not make sense, she very loudly kept asking me " CAN YOU UNDERSTAND THAT??" as if I was a child or as if I was confrontational when I absolutely was not. I noticed I had been trying to communicate for a while.wordlimit"
Pros: "Nice airport, but terrible organization"
Cons: "We were directed upstairs when entering the airport, then directed downstairs for a so called faster security location. That line was long, so we were directed to a shorter security TSA pre check by a person who took us back upstairs to a 3rd location that was not signed or marked to be a security check area at all. It said employees. This is a disorganized airport."
Cons: "Very little space. Travelled economy on other flights with much more legroom and space."
Cons: "Flight was late Food on trip was barely average"
Cons: "Stewardesses were over worked and their arritude showed showed it. I didn't blame them ."
Pros: "The price"
Cons: "The leg room & the service"
Pros: "No delay at all"
Pros: "On time."
Cons: "Uncomfortable seats"
Pros: "Good food"
Cons: "Leg room in economy was bad for a international flight"
Cons: "Our flight was delayed 3 hours and i was never notified. Such an inconvenience, disappointed"
Cons: "The flight attendant was super rude an racist to one of the passengers"
Cons: "WiFi not worth anything unless you pay."
Cons: "Great flight crew"
Pros: "We flew through some pretty turbulent skies but the pilot did a great job, and I saw that he landed in a strong crosswind when's i looked out the window at SAT, although you couldn't have guessed it from how smooth the landing was."
Cons: "Flight cancelled with no eta for replacement."
Pros: "Very good!"
Pros: "I liked how courteous the crew was"
Pros: "Great flight! comfortable seats even for me being a big guy. The wifi made the flight go by great! The price on the wifi seemed a little excessive but a great convince none the less. I had a sandwich during the flight (like I said I am a big guy) it was better than expected for sure. Crew did there jobs but didn't seem to be happy about it. Overall great flight."
Pros: "Short flight (landed ahead of schedule), no boarding wait, good price."
Cons: "Small plane for short flight(smaller cabin)"
Pros: "Flight departed An hour late but caught up time on route. service was cold, rude and lazy. Many passenger brought food trash tray to the station by themselves. Bathroom was gross. Food was salty and I requested water and I was ignored. I finally raised my voice and start asking their names because I would write a complain. Tha started all hassle for me. Long story short, I was demanded to identify if I held Chinese or US passport... I have written a letter to United CEO. I got reply that I would get a reply in 24-48 hours. I'm waiting. My second leg was two hours delay from Chicago to Boston."
Cons: "those FA should be fired, especially the one who demanded to identify my nationality."
Pros: "On time"
Cons: "The crew members were not very happy and were snappy in their replies. The seating is ridiculously small, you cannot access the carry one baggage under the seat if the person in front of you puts their seat back. The food was better this time than the flight to Beijing, still not great. I also need to add that the original flight from Chicago to Beijing had a 7 hour delay which was ridiculous, especially when traveling so far. No food vouchers were offered and passengers were kept in the dark for long periods of time. The return flight was also slightly delayed. This is not a good reputation for an airlines to have. United will not be my first choice of airlines in the future."
Pros: "Everything went smooth."
Cons: "None"
Pros: "Free entertainment on your own devices"
Cons: "We left late, so even though I had rushed to catch my connection, we still sat in the plane for half an hour. Is it possible to build in more time between connecting flights? Which luckily was also late. Too bad people now have to pay for food."
Pros: "very nice flight attendant. Very helpful to have my son and I sit together. Gave me a cup of coffee when i asked. very friendly as well."
Cons: "I need my suitcase asap. There are lots of important stuff inside."
Pros: "I did like that I had an open seat next to me. But not really much else"
Cons: "It was the only flight without entertainment. And it was the longest flight so I was completely bored. They didn't offer snacks and by the time the stewardess got to my row the for sale snack j was interested in was sold out."
Pros: "N/A"
Cons: "Seats were hard, worst I've ever experienced. Seat power outlets were inconvenient."
Pros: "The directTV was great."
Pros: "Flight attendants were okay and we made up an hour on the way which did not make up for the 5 hour delay in Beijing."
Cons: "United did not come close to matching the Air China flight service and entertainment from SFO to Beijing. Was told we would get a voucher for the hotel but only got $10 voucher each for lunch which did not cover lunch. Had to stand in a line for an hour to check in even though we did not have luggage. All in all, a very frustrating experience."
Pros: "It was just GOOOOD"
Cons: "Nothing"
Pros: "Full refund"
Cons: "I suposed to arrive to Costa Rica today after 8.00 pm and I'm still in Houston, I have to pay by myself for the Hotel even when the delayed was because the ailine changed my itinerary."
Pros: "Nothing about it"
Cons: "Everytime I fly United there is ALWAYS a delay. I will never choose to fly United again. I had two flight which were both delayed, very upset about it."
Pros: "Nonstop"
Cons: "Middle Seat"
Pros: "They kept changing the boarding time, first stating that the flight was overbooked then blaming traffic control, the flight still ended up being delayed for more than 2 hours which caused my connecting flight to depart without us. We had to stay in the airport over night in San Fran only to catch another connecting flight from Denver to Atlanta the following day."
Cons: "Being given so many departure times beforehand with the last one stating the flight would board on time, only to end up with it departing later."
