Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "A crew member saw me struggling to walk and offered a wheelchair, explained to me that I would be met with one throughout my trip. Her name was Donna!! Problem occurred when we got to Dallas."
Cons: "Instead of circling in the sky, they could have had the pilot take the alternate route he eventually took anyway, in the first place. My family and I still don’t know if we’re going to get a flight to El Paso/ stand by. So much 4 seeing my armyson before he deploys, recipient time waisted over bad decisions on to of everything else, entitled woman on the plane insults me on the lane for no reason. The crew was amazing though."
Cons: "Flight delay over 7 hours"
Cons: "The attendants attitude."
Cons: "6 hour delay"
Cons: "INTERNET is difficult to figure out in these AA flights"
Cons: "Plane was delayed for 1 hour, electrical problems, which were never fixed. No entertainment no wifi, unable to charge battery on cell phone. Cabin very warm."
Pros: "Great airplane. Enjoy the 2 seat rows."
Cons: "The seat"
Cons: "Why do I continue to subject myself to American Airlines and their horrid equipment, late, delayed or cancelled flights? The ABSOLUTE worst carrier in the country. Without question."
Pros: "CLT to LGA Airbus expérience was as pleasant as ever. The flight attendant on the regional EMB from LGA to YUL was exceptional."
Pros: "The friendly informative team when we learned our plane broke. I switched to Charlotte connection earlier as a Miami one made no sense as Miami is south of Atlanta final destination. We had a different outcome than expected yet staff cared for us."
Cons: "Plane better maintained as before take off a hydraulic part broke and we were grounded . We arrived home hours later than planned because of this."
Pros: "My bag was lost!!!"
Cons: "To have my bag delivered"
Pros: "The seats were comfortable"
Cons: "There’s zero legroom."
Cons: "On time"
Cons: "Need to have handheld device to watch entertainment. Terribly uncomfortable. Delay getting out of Dallas."
Cons: "Departing on time...30 minutes late."
Pros: "Very professional and timely. My last six flights with American have been without a hitch and right on time. If I were a business traveler, which I am not, American Airlines would be my go to carrier. Quite satisfied with this airline and have been for a long time. Thanks!"
Pros: "The crew"
Cons: "I just don’t understand how a flight can be delayed three hours from weather the day before. And, of course, we arrived and there was no gate for us. They had three hours to have a gate ready for us. AA fail!"
Pros: "I appreciated the accommodations for my lactose free diet. Both the meal & the snack were lactose free and I was able to eat on the flight without problems. In-flight entertainment was very nice. I watched several movies on the way to London."
Cons: "See above"
Pros: "Check in"
Cons: "Missed connection"
Cons: "They charge for coffee."
Cons: "Supposed to leave saturday, but didnt cause the lady at airlines said i need a visa when i did not need a visa.now its tuesday in austrailia and im stuck in airport because quantos doest know where my bags are. This trip is turning or turned into a total disaster!"
Pros: "Standard AA domestic flight. Once we were boarded and underway, things were fine. Crew was friendly, the aircraft was cleaned on the turn from the prior flight, and we didn't sit on the tarmac too long when arriving at DFW. Normal operations for AA domestic."
Cons: "Unfortunately, normal operations for AA domestic means boarding 20-30 minutes late, which delayed the arrival a bit. In general, AA could provide more accurate updates and boarding information for their flights. For example, if the inbound aircraft arrives at the time my flight should be boarding, I want to see an updated departure time, rather than maintaining the "on time" status right up until five minutes before the new boarding time. Generally it takes 25-30 minutes to turn the plane for the next outbound flight."
Pros: "Crew was nicw"
Cons: "Now pay significant more for carry on bags for another mediocre airline where it is not significantly cheaper."
Pros: "The nicest flight crew we experienced"
Cons: "The chairs were tight together"
Pros: "Like my AA rides > 90% of the time. The usual prob is sketchy gogo service."
Cons: "Nogo gogo"
Cons: "Plane was dirty and crew inattentive."
Pros: "Short flight, nothing much to say."
Pros: "The crew on both flights to Cancun were very nice!! thanks"
Pros: "Speedy boarding, friendly crew."
Cons: "Seats are definitely cramped."
Pros: "The gate agent was having a bad night because she did not get a break. I am platinum pro and would not upgrade me because she said I was not on the list but she put 2 people in first who were not even advantage members"
Pros: "Flight was smooth and ontime"
Cons: "Flight was extremely expensive."
Pros: "Everything was great their wasn't enough clarification as to what airline I was fliying. It said Japan air on my confirmation email but it would up being through American Airlines. The experience through American was superb but I would of liked clarity on such airline I was going to fly with."
Pros: "Arrived to the airport well ahead of time and encountered lines so long that we were not able to make our flight. Only 2 attendants working and so many people had to be rebooked we didn't get another flight for 3 days. Did I mention I was traveling with a baby?"
Pros: "The crew was always very warming and assisting. Everything was a breeze."
Pros: "Once arrived all was fine. Once arrived all was fine."
Cons: "Being Over hour late. Updates kind of slow. But really hot on the plane"
Cons: "I selected an aisle seat because I have very bad anxiety and when I got there to print off my ticket I was assigned a middle seat. It was very uncomfortable"
Pros: "Traveling out was easy"
Cons: "Coming back was harder. As this was booked via Alaska but flown with partner American - coming back American's website would not allow me to print my boarding pass. A note said I had to check with customer service when I got to the airport. Which took 40 min to get to a rep. Once there they had trouble printing. Had to call corp - then finally a boarding pass with 25 min to get though TSA and to the gate. #stressfull"
Pros: "Good flight! Smooth landing!"
Cons: "The flight was cancelled without notification."
Pros: "Crew was good."
Cons: "The entertainment touch screens are HORRIBLE! It can take up to a minute to get the button you are pushing to respond. It was this way on both AA flights I had (different planes). Also, when the captain or flight attendant chimes in with a message when you are watching a movie, the volume of the announcement is incredibly loud. Last, there was no WiFi available on the plane. It was a 9 hour flight and this is 2016."
Pros: "comfortable seats"
Cons: "While boarding the plane an AA employee actually grabbed the 1/4 full gym bag out of my boyfriend's hands and said he had to check it (even though it had fit under his seat next to his backpack on our previous American Airlines flight). Boarded and saw there was still plenty of open overhead bin space. Had to wait 30 extra minutes at our destination to claim his unnecessarily checked bag. This is on top of poor customer service from the gate agents and a long delay on our outbound flight. Will not choose to fly American Airlines in the future"
Cons: "After paying for a seat upgrade when I booked the ticket, I was forced to pay a second upgrade fee just to sit only 12 rows further back than the seat I paid for. The excuse given by the airline was that they had changed planes and the new plane didn't have a seat 13F. Instead, the equivalent was row 40. I was told that I could pay more and more up to row 25, but that all the lower rows were full. When I asked the service rep to refund the difference, I was told I had to fill out a form online. I was told there are no humans with whom a customer can speak that can process a refund."
Cons: "The wheel chair assistance that was requested for the passenger was not provided in Dallas and London."
Pros: "The touchscreen was pretty awesome"
Cons: "Loud passengers"
Cons: "The original flight was cancelled so we were stuck at the airport for nine hours. Then the replacement fight was a super old out of date place."
Pros: "All went very smoothly"
