Love the direct flight from Boston to Toronto as well as the highly efficient cabin staff. The food was acceptable but the entertainment could have been better. All the movies seem to be quite old.

I have food allergy and tried to request for special meals but the option was not there under my eticket number as described in their website. They say the option may not be available because I purchased my ticket from 3rd party, not from JAL or it was code share flight. Very inconvenient. I had to skip 2 meals out of 3in leaving for Japan. I got very hungry at the end of the flight...."

This caused a lot of stress on me however, the Japan airlones Crew escorted me (we ran as fast as we could) to my next flight so that I wouldn’t miss it. I boarded with 1 minute to spare which is way too close for my comfort."

It turns out the system is not fully in place, and eventually I was issued a 10 year multiple entry visa by way of apology. JAL did not waive cancellation fee, and I suffered considerable economic damages."

The entertainment selection was excellent, the best of any flight I've ever been on. The flight attendants were excellent, again, much better than those on American carriers (I am American, FYI)."

Also, I sat in the baby section, which also happens to be where they put long-legged people. This is no one's fault, but suffice to say, do NOT sit next to 4 5-month olds for a 15-hr flight! Interestingly, since all flight attendants were women, about 50% of the flight did listen to them since there were many conservative Arabs onboard from Qatar or Saudi Arabia (i.e., those who are taught not to listen to or respect women). This made for some frustrating sites to witness but it's obviously not the airline's fault. Poor women!"

In flight, the seat felt liked you're sitting on a rock after a couple of hours. I'm an aircraft mechanic who used to be a flyer with 7,000 flying hours."

They had an emergency landing in The Azores, after turbulence and several passengers got injured, when the pilot failed to warn passengers to put on their seat belts and they flew into the air, hitting the ceiling before falling down. One passenger had a heart attack. Once they de-planed us in The Azores, not a single Qatar Airways employee helped us on site anymore. Passengers were left in the hands of hotel and airport staff. There was very little communication with the passengers. A relief flight was supposed to come in 12 hours. It did not come for another 35. After the emergency landing, some passengers noticed that a wing looked defective. The disruption may not have been due only to bad weather, but a defective plane as well."

Cons: "I am an experienced traveler. I've been to 17 countries and have flown over a million miles in both business and coach. My wife encountered a problem in Istanbul that involved an airport transit visa through Canada. I am certain that any other airline we’ve ever flown would’ve assisted us, since it was easily resolved. To Turkish Airlines, this is simply a part of their business model and a chance to make more money. It took about 8 hours of our time at 5 different airport locations to eventually buy new tickets to get back the next day. Our original tickets say: “REISSUE With 200.00 USD penalty. What I didn’t see was the fine print at the bottom: “Turkish Airlines reserves the right to change rules regarding ticket changes and refunds.”. They mean it. As bad as our personal experience was, the real reason we are so appalled is that we were there long enough to see this is the norm for them. In our single day there, we saw at least 100 other travelers going through similar things. The ONLY solution ever offered is to purchase another ticket. We witnessed several people weeping. Many losing control and shouting. Their own personnel were screaming at customers (in a separate office area though, it was all yucks and laughing). These were people of all nationalities. Africans, Asians, Europeans. We were lucky because we had the means to purchase new tickets. Others clearly didn’t. I really don’t know what happened to some of them. One moment was very symbolic of the entire experience. Another vanquished traveler was paying $843 for a new ticket with cash. He handed her $845 but she, of course, had no change. Instead of the $5, he gave her two $1 bills. I had one in my pocket so gave it to her as well. She held my $1 bill up and pointed to the corner which had a very small piece torn off…no ink was missing…and sneered “I can’t accept this. She did this simply because she could. We were powerless. She knew it and reveled in it."

Apparently, bed bugs on planes are becoming more common place! We've contacted Air Canada via email about a week ago and are waiting to hear back from them. Furthermore, the flight to and from Tokyo did not allow much time for sleeping. The flight attendants were going up and down the aisles very often with meals/snacks, drinks, duty-free, and charity requests. I was expecting a lull after the dinner meal where they would dim the lights and limit services for a few hours, but it did not happen. While impressive how many services were available it was a bit much and would have preferred less to allow for some quiet time. Finally, the return flight from Tokyo to Toronto there was a single flight attendant who was quite rude to the other attendants as well as passengers. While boarding a lady in front of us didn't have her boarding pass when entering the plane but was with her husband. This flight attendant asked her for the pass, and she said she knew where her seat was because her husband was right in front of her and they were sitting together (at this point we had our boarding passed check 3 times before even boarding the plane). The attendant raised her voice at the lady and told her it didn't matter and that she needed the pass. Within a few minutes, she was getting after a few flight attendants for insignificant things. This behavior continued throughout the flight, very unprofessional. This was my first time flying Air Canada and I was not impressed."

Cons: "The In flight entertainment system had an extremely poor music selection. There were only one to three albums per genre, none of which I had heard of before. Music doesn't take up a lot of data, and there are tons of independent artists who would be willing to put their music up for little to no royalty payment. This is an easy fix. 2/3 of my bags were left in Toronto."

Cons: "original red-eye flite was canc after we boarded due to mechanical issues...we.didn't get a room til 6am and we had a 6 yr old with us......only slept 1 1/2 hrs (after being awake for 31hrs) ...as had to be back at airport for 11am..only to find out once there from another passenger that flite was delayed three more times and wasn't leaving til 9pm...we personally never did receive these e-mails....I spent 10 hrs at the airport with my luggage in tow as there was nowhere to ck it.....understandably there were a lot of events going on so hence so much difficulty in getting rooms or taxis for us all....once on board my flite I asked for a blanket and was told they didn't have any... only to discover upon deplaning that the whole section in front of me as well as first class all had blankets!!"

Cons: "Showed up to hear that my flight was delayed for 5 hours. I was offered a credit with my boarding pass, but couldn't use it to buy a beer (which I think I was entitled to after learning about the delay) or anything from the convenience store. So basically my scheduled arrival time of 4pm ended up being 2am. Good thing I got to use my non-refundable hotel for a whopping 3 hours... After being told that this is apparently the normal experience for Air Canada, I don't see myself booking again anytime soon."

Cons: "The boarding at the first flight from Columbus to Washington was the worst flight I ever had, peoples who worked there were really rude and disrespectful not to only me but to a few passengers especially a lady who worked at the ticket both."
Cons: "Our originally scheduled flight out of CMH was cancelled within minutes of getting through security. We were told to wait for another flight-which was scheduled to depart 3 hours EARLIER, but had yet to depart. 3 hours later THAT flight cancelled, and we were rebooked for a flight the following day. So we were out our first night's accommodations as well as transportation to/from the airport that day. The next day we boarded our scheduled flight, sat on the tarmac for awhile, then went back to the gate and de-planed for some unknown reason. We were then re-booked on a different airline. THAT flight was then delayed, which would have caused us to miss our connection to EDI. The ticket agent worked for an hour to find us a flight to EDI that wasn't going through Newark (delays from hell) or Chicago (weather from hell). She finally put us on a flight with an all-too-brief layover in Amsterdam after a connection in Detriot. At this point we have boarding passes coming out our arses, It's 5pm and I haven't eaten since 9am, and we're STILL not out of our departure city. Our projected arrival time was going to cost us ANOTHER night's accommodation, as well as cause us to miss previously paid for engagements. 2 more delays allowed us to finally land in our destination about 40 hours after our original itinerary, with no apology or effort to amend the situation in any way."

Cons: "We each had one bag- a backpack for him and an incredibly small roll bag for me. We were told we absolutely had to check the roll bag as space was limited. There were 3 off duty flight attendants sitting next to me and each had 2 large bags. Multiple other people had multiple oversized bags they were allowed to carry on. This infuriates me. I brought one bag, and a smaller than regulation one at that and I had to check it because other people were allowed to bring multiple bags. If you know a flight will be a tight squeeZe, limit people to one bag each."

Then, that flight was canceled but the booked me on another airlines. At first they were going to make me wait another 24 hours until I had told her that I had already did that once. The desk clerks were rude on every encounter."

People were putting on coats and hats, taking them off and putting them back on the entire flight. It was horrible and there was NOTHING relaxing about this flight bc of it. The crew announced the inflight entertainment and gave directions on how to use it. Thirty minutes later, they informed us it wasn't working. So nothing to distract us from the horrible temps!!! Pull this aircraft out of service and fix the temperature!!!"

Cons: "We are two active duty members flying to take our son to our parents for us to get ready to go on deployment. When we arrived there the line was almost an hour and a half just to check bags we almost missed our flight. When we got to the counter ans told him we were both military flying on orders and asked to be tsa checked he had no clue what we were talking about so this kind woman helped him do his job, needless to say he was a manager. Once we got out tickets the seat assignment said see agent so we did. He hands us our tickets and we are a plane length apart. Let me mind you we both just left our child for a 8 month deployment overseas. We asked the guy if it was possible to get seats together wouldnt even acknowledge we were speaking to him. So we tried again he held his hand in my face and told me he serviced me and to please step back. Ive been bawling 2 hours straight from having to leave our son. So we stepped back. Then in the line this couple comes up and they were looking for seats together, i kid you not he gave them seats together! I will NEVER EVER fly united every again. Thank goodness for this kind gentle to switch me seats on the plane because i was crying i had to leave my fiance after i just had to say goodbye to our son for 8 months!! I was so shocked!!! I will tell every single person i know to never use united! You guys should be ashamed of our company! I will inform every active duty member i come across!"
Pros: "Great service on first and third flights, customer service did an excellent job getting me on a new flight itinerary at the last minute when my original was delayed. Overall I only arrived about 3 hours later than I was supposed to."

Cons: "On my flight from Columbus to Houston on Dec 24 flight UA4938. I had a very unpleasant episode with one female attendant which yelled at me and talked in an un appropriate tone when I needed to use the toilet. There are manners and ways to say things and anyone would listened to them. As a customer I deserve respect, as they deserve respect from me. I am a frequent traveler and been flying basically all my life. And never encountered a flight attendant with such a bad attitude. I travel abroad the US several times a year. After this incident I am not sure if I want to fly with United again, if they make poor choices when they select their crew ."
