Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Cons: "The Seattle gate agents never said which flight they were calling and since neighboring gates were boarding at the same time it was very confusing and rather chaotic."
Pros: "The crew was polite and professional. Boarding went very smoothly and the flight left on time. Baggage was very quick when we arrived in Seattle as it was already coming out when we arrived in the baggage claim area."
Cons: "I would have like to have been offered disinfectant wipes to use on the food tray. Otherwise it was a perfect experience."
Pros: "The crew was very courteous and friendly"
Cons: "Delays Why is it always a surprise for the crew that the plane needs to be de iced in the winter"
Pros: "Short flight and no problems."
Cons: "The boarding process was awful. The gate agent was extremely rude - was shocked she was representing Delta. There was police on board arresting two passengers and crew was not saying anything."
Cons: "It was great fir a short flight. And they got me there early."
Pros: "The crew did their best to deal with delay."
Cons: "There was an absolutely awful job done by both Delta and Kayak of informing us if additional delays, new gate assignments, when the plane would be reboarded. Also, people were quite angry that the plane had to be cleaned between the time we got off and the time we reboarded. Just get us home."
Cons: "delays, delays yuck"
Pros: "The crew and staff were friendly. The flight was full so they checked our bag at no additional charge."
Cons: "They had no earphones for the flight from Cancun."
Pros: "New plane with good features. I was very comfortable."
Cons: "Had to pay extra for seat assignment. Very tight seating; almost demands paying extra for "comfort seats." Crew moved my carry-on bag; should have told me or helped me find it when deplaning. No beverage service due to turbulence (understandable -- not their fault). Flight was delayed."
Pros: "Delta’s crew is the best part about flying delta!"
Cons: "They canceled my flight"
Pros: "Crew was gr8, seats comfy and space between seats was great, great space for legs"
Cons: "The quality of the forks and knife, I had meat for dinner and the fork broke two times. Coffee needs to be a little more stronger. Keep it up!"
Pros: "Every one but the gate agent at Detroit going to Seattle at 7:40 loading time on 4-11-19. She was mean and curt and would not get my seat corrected I had to sprint for at least a mile to even make it. We landed the same time they were boarding"
Cons: "The attendants on the Detroit to Seattle flight suggested I go talk to the gate agent to get my seat corrected. They said the flight was not full. So I did. To be greeted again by the mean agent you told me to take my rear and get it on the plane that the attendants didn’t know anything"
Pros: "Great food and bev service"
Pros: "new airbus plane. great luggage bins"
Pros: "I liked the service to see if there was a chance to upgrade because of the connecting flight and even though there was a delay in the plane arriving to Alaska, the quick turn was excellent and we were in the air within a short period of time."
Cons: "The comfortability and that’s rear even if I had the middle seat. I had it on my way towards Alaska and didn’t have any issue"
Pros: "Left on time. There were plenty of seats available"
Cons: "It was a bit cold. Bring a sweater"
Pros: "Some of the cabin attendants were friendly and helpful. Others not so much."
Cons: "Even in "world business class" the pods are very small and cramped and there is no room to put a carry on bag even something as small as a headphone box. Also the business class bathroom was very small, very disgustingly dirty when we boarded (someone tried to clean it a bit) and dirty and small throughout the flight. The bathroom does not have ventilation and the toilet basically does not have any liquid for flushing!"
Pros: "The flight attendants gave great service"
Pros: "The Delta desk attendant at CVG was unable to come up with another flight to get me from CVG to Colorado Springs on 6/13. There is nothing to like."
Cons: "See comments above."
Pros: "great selection of movies"
Cons: "it was super hot on the plane."
Pros: "This was our first time flying Delta and it was a very pleasurable experience. Boarding was very straight forward and the seats allocated comfortable. A surprise for us was being asked if we would like to move seats from the back of the aircraft to Comfort Economy (we think it was to do with weight balance! but appreciated very much none the less). The flight attendants were very professional and helpful, as you would hope all attendants on all airlines would be. We'd gladly fly Delta again anytime."
Pros: "Flew into bad weather event with thunderstorms, lightning and tornadoes. The flight was relatively turbulence free, flt had only one attendant in the cabin however she was able to serve beverages and snacks asks made sure everyone was comfortable. Can't thank Delta enough for the professionalism of their crew, great service and communication, and for getting us home safely. Thank you!"
Cons: "Made us pink tag carry on bags on flight deck. Had to retrieve bag from baggage claim after flight. My bag landed on the belt completely open, clothes and laptop hanging out bag onto belt, bag was damaged, zipper broken with holes in the fabric, bag was soaking wet! No one at airport able to assist with a damaged bag claim. Very disappointed in the Baton Rouge airport and lack of available staff to handle baggage issue."
Cons: "Delta is terrible!!! $100 extra for everything!!! Terrible!!"
Pros: "Love the free movies and individual screen, and the new seats are more comfortable"
Cons: "That it wasn’t 1970, with full meals and more leg room"
Pros: "had connecting flight ready"
Cons: "the plane was 5 hours late, we did not even get free internet of a coffee or a free drink in the waiting room after debarring or in the waiting room connecting was ok, they had boarding passes ready but suitcases took forever to cross customs...getting bags almost an hour"
Pros: "The EXIT seat with nothing in front of me."
Cons: "The non-ability to pre book seating. Assignment not available until arriving at departure gate. No entertainment."
Pros: "Refurbished plane. Lighting was good"
Cons: "No TV screen"
Pros: "Above feedback is for the MSP to GEG flight"
Pros: "New aircraft A320"
Cons: "I have the worst opinion of the Delta company, when I was flying to Atlanta on October 20 they changed my flight at the last minute I had to leave until my job to take another flight. Just today when returning my suitcase did not arrive they sent it to another destination. I think the company gives very bad service."
Pros: "Great service all around"
Pros: "Smaller plane, aisle seat with a lot of leg room (5c), smooth flight"
Cons: "Shorter flight so no snacks/drinks were served, although requests were fulfilled."
Cons: "I'm a frequent flier and was treated poorly, seated in the last seat and last row despite paying more than $1,000 on ticket. Awful."
Pros: "I had to change seats as my wife had surgery while we were away, Delta made that happen with little fuss. Seating was quite good."
Cons: "Air travel isn't what it once was, seats are smaller and closer but that applies to most airlines. Nothing specific and I usually fly Delta as it is my first choice above it's competition."
Cons: "Never again!"
Pros: "Crew was stellar, very accommodating."
Cons: "Food was WAAAAY to salty. Needs some more flavor than just salt sad to say. Would be nice to be offered an entire can of soda not just a cup full of ice and a tiny amount of liquid. Charging for exit row swats? Cmon.... I'm 6 foot 5, why should a 5 foot 115lb woman get all the extra leg room but I canot?"
Pros: "Nothing at all"
Cons: "Seat back entertainment was outdated and non functional. Drinks were served but not a pretzel or peanut to be seen unless you were in first class."
Pros: "The cabin temperature was not good. Started out very cold. When I asked about it (which I shouldn't have had to do), they overcompensated; then it was too warm. After a couple more tries they finally got it equalized."
Pros: "Enough said"
Pros: "We had originally booked seats that were not together but we're able to change them at the gate. We sat in the last row of the 777 which only had 2 seats on either side of the plane rather than the standard 3. The seats still reclined tho not as much as the other rows. Food was free and excellent- so was the entertainment (I watched 4 movies on the 14 hour flight). Crew was great. Alcoholic beverages were also free but we don't drink so it didn't matter."
Cons: "The flight from phx to lax was ok but it was a small plane (CRJ700) and we're big people. No amenities whatsoever except for soft drinks, juices and peanuts. Flight was on time and made the connection with time to spare."
Cons: "Family of 6 with 3 minors. Could not sit any of us together."
Cons: "Same as above."
Cons: "Feed me"
Cons: "Less crowded."
Pros: "Crew was great. Love that the soft drinks are still free, unlike some other carriers. More leg room in the plane as well"
Cons: "Delay of 1.5 hours for “fuel” reasons that were sketchy at best. Luckily we were not one of the many that missed connections"
Cons: "In-flight movies were broken the entire flight. There was no way to charge a phone or laptop despite the 3+ hour flight time. My 45 minute hopper from RDU to CLT had both plug and USB. Additionally AA does not offer free messaging."
Cons: "Please let passengers check in earlier like everyone else. After our 8 hour flight, we got 2 middle seats as the plane was booked and we could not check in 24 hrs earlier. Had to run to get our boarding passes also."
Cons: "This plane needs to be retired! It was the most uncomfortable seat I’ve ever had! Also the plane was extremely warm. Like a sweat box or a sauna. Miserable flight. Glad it wasn’t long!"
Pros: "Nothing. I’ll never fly American Airlines again."
Cons: "Literally everything. I spent 30 hours sitting in the Philadelphia airport and then had to buy a flight with SouthWest so that I could get home. Too bad my luggage is headed for Toledo."
Pros: "Even though we left late, we made up time in the air."
Cons: "My aisle seat didn’t recline."
Cons: "Flight time was changed twice"
Cons: "To many delays."
Pros: "Price, entertainment, direct flight"
Cons: "Plane left because pilot was late, little to no legroom for a 6"2 person. Boarding procedure is a joke. Instead of their group system the plane should be boarded from the back. By the time group 8 comes on board there is no room in the overhead bins."
Pros: "I wanted to fly british airways because they have newer nicer more modern planes where even coach has electrical plugs. Seats are more comfortable. Imagine my surprise when my flight was changed to American Airlines on a plane that was so old the seats didn’t have inflight entertainment and they were way too small."
Pros: "Easy flight"
Cons: "We were rerouted by JustFly prior to our trip. Instead of Venice - Philadelphia-Tampa at noon, we were moved to Venice - London - Chicago - Tampa. Flight from London - Chicago was delayed 6 hours. Of course missed connection in Chicago. Spent night in Chicago and arrived home 48 hours after leaving for Venice airport."
Pros: "Great service and sweet attendants"
Cons: "Person next to me was a little large and it was uncomfortable."
Cons: "Delayed for mechanical."
Pros: "I loved the attitude and helpful approach of the female flight attendant working the AA gate for the flight I took from DFW to COS last night (6/13). Truthfully, it was almost like I was back with Southwest. She was kind, calm, polite, efficient, and capable. Very rare in my experience with American Airlines yesterday. Interacting with her was refreshing."
Cons: "Getting home to Colorado Springs at 11:30 PM, taxiing for 15-20 minutes, and then waiting another 20-30 for checked luggage! Never have I waited that long during and after a Southwest flight! AA could truly learn something from their more modest counterpart. I have all but decided to resume my drives to Denver every other week rather than risk more and more time and poor experiences with AA flying in-and-out of Colorado Springs."
Pros: "I was not expecting the ample leg room and arm space. I was actually comfortable. It made such a huge difference in my day. The crew members were great and it was a pretty chill experience, which is not how I can describe any other flight in recent memory."
Cons: "The entertainment was just snippets from NBC shows that I’m not interested in. It was the same presentation on both legs of my trip, so even if I had been interested initially, I would have gotten bored the second time around."
Pros: "Everyone was nice"
Cons: "No gluten free snacks. Flight was late"
Pros: "Great service"
Pros: "Absolutely none of it"
Cons: "The entire experience was the worst flying experience of my life"
Pros: "The flights were good. The cancellation was handled poorly."
Cons: "AA’s flight was canceled from Seattle to JFK. The flight was then rescheduled to Newark and then Orly. The main problem is that the change didn’t include the infant on lap ticket and ended up with 2 hours in Newark trying to rectify the situation."
Cons: "No personal TV for entertainment"
Cons: "A couple of flight attendants were a bit grumpy/short with passengers. Lack of food definitely not ideal but glad they could get something given circumstances with health department. Still waiting for promised vouchers to arrive."
Pros: "New equipment. Film choices, crew, complementary beverages"
Cons: "Tv was out the entire international flight. When I asked the flight attendant for help he said that "wasn't his job" and walked away. When I asked another attendant for help she said there wasnt anything she could do and that their "tv's suck". Rude crew, uncomfortable, cheap."
Pros: "I liked the entertainment, crew was very nice, I had no problems when boarding and dinner was fine."
Cons: "Breakfast was lacking, I did not enjoy anything I was given. A hot breakfast would be very nice or even bread with butter would have been a nice option."
Pros: "United airlines canceled a flight last minute that I needed in order to get to my best friends' wedding on time, I usually fly AA but the United flights were slightly cheaper at the time. The options United gave me would have had me missing the wedding, AA had more flights that allowed me to make it in time, considering it was booked 12 hours before take-off, it was decently reasonable and left on time and got in early (imagine that, United). Thank you American Airlines, again!"
Pros: "The food was great!"
Cons: "The new baggage rule limits you to two bags in business on international flights☹️"
Pros: "Plenty empty seats, so I had enough room. Arrival earlier than scheduled, crew provided good service"
Cons: "Food (I had pasta)was lousy, the little TV screen was EXTREMELY unresponsive, Most of the time it would not work - unable to make selections. Seat 19C"
Pros: "I liked that the internet connection was free because I am a T-Mobile customer."
Cons: "Boarding the plane was a bit clumsy. I felt like everyone was tripping over each other since the front of the plane was boarding first."
Cons: "Big lines for the kiosks to print out the boarding pass, after that another line to drop off the lauggages. We left late. Horrible food. Uncomfortable sits. NO INDIVIDUAL TV."
Pros: "We didn't crash."
Cons: "No safety briefing for infants, rude gate staff, primitive fleet, terrible customer service at all levels."
Pros: "The staff was efficient and attentive. The plane was modern and clean."
Cons: "I was pulled aside at the gate and had a security interview because I hadn't checked a bag!"
Pros: "The meals were excellent -- well timed distribution of food throughout the flight. Attentive staff. Good choices for meals and beverages. I liked the fact that we got ice cream halfway through the flight also, that's not a very common thing! Entertainment system was very good -- lots of choices of things to watch/listen to! I was pleased to find that there were movies available that had been very recently released that I had been wanting to see!"
Cons: "Comfort was okay, my seat was on the end of a row with three seats (aisle side) and immediately behind me was a row with only two seats. Without fail, the flight attendants bumped their carts into my chair EVERY time they passed. If I had been trying to sleep, this would be much more of a disturbance to me. Seeing as I was just watching movies and enjoying the food, it wasn't that much of an issue. However, I think it would be easy for the flight attendants to just take a second longer to try to navigate around the chair and not bump it every time. Little things like that go a long way, especially on a long flight."
Cons: "Holding pattern over Dallas for 45 minutes."
Pros: "Roomy aisle seat"
Pros: "The crew is good"
Pros: "Flight was on time. Plane was clean. Staff very professional."
Pros: "The sweet flight attendant who helped calm me down from the turbulence as we were going over the hurricane."
Cons: "All the turbulence from flying over Hurricane Matthew. Something I will make sure I'm not flying during a storm. Scared me greatly."
Pros: "I was in first class, so the legroom and seat comfort is good. The seats were removed with leather and headrest was movable."
Cons: "The gate agent didn't enforce the carry-on policies. Large roller bags were turned sideways in the overhead bins. Flight attendants were not friendly. Why pay profit sharing to employees if they still are treating people badly. Overall it was an ok flight, I wouldn't go out of my way to fly them, just if they are the cheapest, because their attitude towards paying customers is horrible. I wish I could return the favor to them one day, I bet they wouldn't like it very much."
Pros: "At 6' 2" I was surprised that, with the seat in front of me not reclined (and fortunately no one ever did), my knees actually had a bit of room and were not pressed into the seat back in front of me. That and the flight schedule went smoothly - everything was on time."
Cons: "Maybe a couple of other sandwich options might have gotten me to pay for one."
Pros: "The flight was on time, and the crew was friendly."
Cons: "The boarding was very disorganized and took a long time, and there was no silverware on board, which I needed."
Cons: "It took so long for me to leave this airport. I got there around 11:30pm and my flight wasn't till around 9:45am the next day and so when it came to that time they had cancelled my flight so I got another ticked for around 2pm and they didn't board that flight till around 4:30. My experience there was to much to handle. I was supposed to get to Colorado Friday night but didn't even get here time Saturday afternoon. Really upsetted me because I leave wednsday so I don't have enough time to be with my boyfriend. I honestly don't think I'll be flying American Airlines again"
Pros: "The flight attendants were nice and the plane was on time."
Cons: "I tried to switch my flight to an earlier time. First, they charge $75 (Southwest is always free). Second, the gate agent charged me and let me board, but her boss came on the plane and pulled me off because I wasn't Executive Platinum status! The plane took off with an empty seat and I had to wait two more hours for the first flight. When I complained to AA about it, they sent me a $50 voucher. I don't plan on giving any business to AA for the rest of my life."
Pros: "Everything about the flight seemed fast. From the boarding process to the landing process. It was a very fast flight. Much faster than Southwest Airlines."
Cons: "It was a 6 am flight and the crew looked like it was a 6 am flight. No smiles. No energy. They looked like they didn't like their job. Maybe they needed coffee."
Pros: "Delays caused a little stress but all in all a good experience."
Cons: "Late arrival to DCA."
Cons: "missed flight, rude service no central customer service desk at airport"
Pros: "I fell asleep on the trip so that was nice."
Cons: "The seats are pretty uncomfortable for tall people."
Pros: "My first flight fom MSP to chicago was 25mins early and from Chicago to MCI 5mins early which is good."
