Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "Ok crew, not the best planes and service but good enough to get from A to B. Was I happy with the flight? No, will I use them again? If the price is right for sure."
Cons: "Friendlier crew and better service"
Pros: "Air traffic control re-routed the flight which delayed our take off and extended our flight time. The captain was good about keeping us informed about the delay, and the new schedule. The delay wasn’t Alaska’s fault, and the crew made the best of a not ideal situation."
Pros: "I was crowded by the person sitting next to me."
Pros: "Short flight."

Cons: "The flight was delayed and they barely communicated so people were lined up for a long time... just let people know what is going on!! I miss Virgin America !!"
Pros: "Friendly employees, smooth flight and great landing. Great price, fair baggage fees and also was allowed a free carry on. In flight snacks and entertainment options were nice too. This was my first time on your airlines and I will for sure be flying with you again in the future."

Cons: "No xfiles"
Pros: "Rhe Alaskan staff was fabulous. They helped reschedule flights and connecting flights to get their customers as close as they could to get them to their final destinations on time. They showed patience and were extremely courteous."
Cons: "My flight was so delayed that I missed my doctor appointment for a pancreatic transplant. The smoke po ut of Canada got SeaTac so backed up that many flights were either sever ew ly delayed or cancelled altogether. I feel like I wasted not only my own but this world renowned doctor's time too. I wish the airline would have put out a warning hours before the flight's original departure."
Pros: "Our Captain was something else... he took the time to be present with us while the crew got ready. He knew he had time and really did a great job of helping extol the virtues of Alaska. Then on the flight the crew - stewards and stewardesses - were very attentive and professional also keeping a friendly, welcoming attitude."
Cons: "Lack of food choices for premium and the realityn1st class is always booked and being an MVP doesn’t gain us much"

Cons: "Felt much longer than it needed to be - 7 hours?"
Pros: "Free stuff. Close to on time"
Pros: "I like the amount of seating and storage space Alaska provides; it seems more abundant than competitors. Also, the staff was kind and concise; that can really make a difference on a long flight. Great Job!"
Pros: "Friendly, efficient crew. No delays."
Cons: "Some of the foot Wells are much smaller than other and present a very real problem both for baggage and tall folks. It seems unfair to pay the same price as someone who gets vastly more foot space and the airline is really doing its passengers a disservice by not making it explicitly clear that certain seats are more physically constrained than others. (737 isle and center seats."
Pros: "Everyone super friendly no other complaints"
Cons: "Boarding delay. Also asked last minute before boarding for passport in a new line so had to wait in the back. Consider some of us are crunched for time when we get to destination (rental car before closing, etc)."
Pros: "Great experience."
Pros: "Everyone was incredibly nice and professional"
Cons: "The only complaint would be there were no more cheese and fruit plates left by the time they got to 30 C"
Cons: "Baggage didn't arrive at posted location for 40 min At baggage pickup Air Alaska flight wasn't shown. Flight wasn't even posted on airport electronic displays so had to run up and down searching all carrosels"
Pros: "The flight was on time and the crew was efficient and courteous"
Cons: "Boarding was horrible (like most airlines), too many levels, and by the time we can board, we have a long wait in the loading corridor, at a standstill in the aisle. Seats are cramped and the only thing they offer to eat (free) is a small cookie. They charge too much for internet connection also. I wish airlines would just board from the last row forward, would speed the process up tremendously. I don't care about first class, MVP, military, families, they always seem to be in the front third, and that's what slows everything down."
Pros: "Nice crew, helpful. Coffee was good. Seats were pretty comfortable"
Cons: "My ears Filled up and hurt on decent. I tried all the tricks but didn't help. Maybe cabin wasn't pressurized enough?? Also wifi should be free!! We pay enough for the flight, that's not nice."
Pros: "See above"
Cons: "See above"
Pros: "It got me to my destination"
Pros: "Flight was fine - can't really say much real good or bad - we slept most of the time. Left tablet on board and a crew member retrieved it for me and did so with a smile. Pretty happy with the flight."
Cons: "Can't think of any negatives."
Pros: "Leg room, boarding"
Cons: "Crew kept talking and advertising their credit card services and all of its benefits. I just wanted to sleep but they kept yapping away nonstop through the overhead system. First and last time flying with this airline."
Pros: "New equipment, excellent staff and good inflight entertainment."
Cons: "Boarding procedures seem old fashioned and inefficient."
Pros: "Easy flight. Boarding was fine and the crew were friendly enough. The steward didn't come and see me much and I think I had one little snack and one beverage."
Cons: "No entertainment but I didn't really expect it on such a short flight."
Pros: "Boarding was a few minutes early (versus the typical few minutes late), it was easy, plenty of room/clearance for my stuffed roller carry on, comfy seats, great service throughout. I am not often flying into or out of cities that Alaska services but when I am, I almost always chose to fly Alaska :)"
Pros: "My seat was in the premium class somehow and I loved it. Perfect timing with boarding and seating. The crew was very attentive and kind."
Pros: "See above"
Pros: "Great new modern plane with power at every seat!"
Pros: "The gate agents and staff were very friendly"
Cons: "When I checked my bag. They had to hand write a slip for the next leg of my flight (Calgary to London). This added about 10 minutes of time. It's 2017, how can it still require paper write up??"
Pros: "Flying with Alaska Airlines brings back the sense of how flying is an extraordinary, dignified experience, the feeling of back in the day you would give the pilot an applause for a smooth landing just like at a concert opera."
Pros: "We left a little late but arrived early, great job Alaska!"
Pros: "Great Staff"
Cons: "Lots of flights leaving the same time through side by side gates - and all delayed. yuck"
Cons: "Despite the staff who unloaded me in the isle chair having a great attitude, they were inexperienced."
Pros: "Inexpensive flight Nice desk people they did give us regular updates and clear expanation of why we were delayed"
Cons: "They took our small carry on bags planeside with a PROMISE to return planeside in Calgary - but didn't - they came through just like a checked back 25 minute wait in Calgary and one of the LAST bags off the flight! Plane was 20 minutes late leaving"
Pros: "The seats and service"
Pros: "Lots of legroom and seats seemed roomier than other airlines in coach, staff was friendly, good price for tickets"
Cons: "Snack box I bought was nothing to get excited about, though the Mediterranean might have been the healthiest option, it wasn't as flavorful as I had hoped. The crackers were the best part of the box. I did not want to pay $10 to watch movies on a tiny tablet, so opted out of he entertainment."
Cons: "We were taken off the flight after boarding due to some ticketing issues with Emirates. The next flight was 3.5 hours later. This caused tremendously inconvenience, especially since we are both over 70 years old."
Pros: "I liked how there was a bigger selection of free entertainment on the flight through the wifi stream. Some airlines don't have any free entertainment. Also the staff was helpful with bag check in."
Cons: "There were a couple of children who were crying and screaming almost the whole time, but that isn't the airlines fault and I realize that. Other than that, the flight was good."
Pros: "Price line is better not thief like you yu take my money for nothing my husband not traveling your given me fake tickets . bring my money back on my account. am gonna take to court yu fukin beach.yubstolen my money"

Pros: "Airplanes, entertainment, boarding, check in"
Cons: "Food, conections"
Pros: "Boarding was fast"
Cons: "Long takeoff and seats were to close"
Cons: "We didn’t have food on our flight, but ordered it at a cost. We didn’t get the food or pay for it."
Pros: "Beautiful views of the mountains."
Cons: "Was delayed for hours and missed my shuttle to Bellingham. Nearly ruined my trip."
Cons: "On time departure and arrival"
Cons: "Flight leaving on time and not over fueling the plane and missing my connection in Houston!"
Pros: "My economy plus seat was good (once I finally got it) and for all the hassle they did free tv for the whole plane. THey found a new plane FAST!"
Cons: "They changed gates last minute - plane was in for maintenance and slight delay - then cancelled that plane - did the series of 15 minute additional delays. They found a new plane - changed the gates (big distance) again - and 'the computer' had reseated 1/2 the plane. DISTASTER to fix."
Cons: "crew at the airport and on the plane, not very helpful"
Pros: "Selection of films and TV"
Cons: "Late boarding, but no apology. Drinks service, but no snacks"
Pros: "Flight attendants were competent"
Cons: "The drinks for purchase were absorbant"
Pros: "The flight got delayed however, it went well once in the air. Some turbulence on account of the weather but the crew were very friendly. We got free TV on account of the delay."
Pros: "I made it home alive"
Cons: "Well constancy gate changes in the airport to getting on a hot plane with no air going, then to waiting an hour for the plane to start because of the power cable (still with no air) crew didn’t give us any update from the very first one, all of a sudden we are moving, but only shortly because then we waited another 30 minutes to actually take off. Once in the air it took forever to get water, just pretzels for snacks and a horrible attitude by the staff. DO NOT DLY WITH THEM."
Cons: "Movie kept crashing and I had to restart the app"
Pros: "It was fine"
Cons: "It was fine"
Cons: "Flight left 5 hours hate which included 2+ hours on tarmac being fed nonsensical updates by pilot. Planes entertainment system wasn't operational"
Pros: "Pushed out on time and made it home early"
Cons: "Flight attendants were non existent. 2 water services in a 4 hour flight is ridiculous."
Pros: "Quick, easy flight with a really nice flight attendant."
Cons: "Really small and uncomfortable plane. I feel like they should phase these small planes out. Seats are not wide enough for a regular sized guy."
Pros: "This United flight left on time and arrived to my destination early, which was nice, unlike my last flight."
Cons: "Wi-Fi and “private screen” entertainment through my own devices did not work. Second time it has not worked at all on a United flight. Food was average (meaning bare-bones for complimentary)."
Cons: "The United Boarding Agent repeatedly warned about the "SMALL" carry on compartments on the CJR aircraft and literally insisted we tag our carry ons to be set aside on boarding even though we knew they fitted OK. AS A RESULT when we got to Calgary we had to wait at the over size luggage racks for our carry ons to be delivered instead of them being set up for us as we left the aircraft which is normal!! Very frustrating!!"
Cons: "Tv didn't work no entertainment options on personal device"
Pros: "The crew was working efficient and tried to respond to request"
Cons: "The plane was freezing cold. I came prepared but had to hunker down under blankets even though I had two shirts and a jacket on. This is not acceptable for any flight or airline. I caught a cold on my return trip due to this. I'm disappointed as it seemed like a newer plane. The stewardess acknowledged this but was unable to get our section to warm up. Everyone in my area of the plane was Ice cold."
Pros: "Boarding was quick and leg room was much better on this flight."
Cons: "Being delayed for several hours without an explanation was very disappointing and frustrating. I was waiting at airport for 6hrs! Flight staff was not overly friendly either."
Pros: "The crew were very nice and we had a safe flight."
Cons: "The seats were very hard and uncomfortable! Customers should bring a pillow."
Pros: "The crew was great under very difficult circumstances. Team players for United."
Cons: "1. Flight delayed 7 hours due to mechanical issue(s). 2. The in-flight entertainment system was down/inoperable for most of the flight. 3. The menu item I wanted to purchase was not available. I was told that it was not even loaded on board and it was implied that maybe it had been discontinued????"
Cons: "Didn't like having to buy food on an international flight."
Pros: "On-time departure and courteous crew. Smooth flying on this leg of our trip."
Cons: "I don't have any major complaints about this flight."
Pros: "Comfortable seats"
Pros: "On time"
Cons: "Kinda bumpy"
Cons: "1hr 10min. Delay on the tarmak. Late into Calgary."
Pros: "The boarding process went well."
Cons: "The plane clearly had not been cleaned, not even superficially. There were stains and crumbs on the tray, there was garbage in the small seat pocket and the seat was damp. Very unpleasant."
Cons: "The flight attendants and airport staff in Chicago and Detroit suck. San Fran is so much better."
Cons: "Flight Attendant was REALLY late. We had to delay boarding to wait for her. 15 minutes. then it took longer to wait for gate check -- green tag bag - than if I had checked the bag. when we finally got the gate check bags and headed through customs the checked bags were all on the carousel. And I have Nexus. So Customs was 3 minutes. NOT a good process. Figure it out YYC international terminal!!!"
Pros: "The seats in premium economy are comfortable and the the entertainment is good"
Cons: "Their was a 3 hour delay but is was for weather conditions in Newark"
Pros: "Left right on time and arrived a few minutes early."
Pros: "Nice seats - and some room to move and relax."
Cons: "Being an Air Canada customer and having bought an Air Canada ticket - I do expect that either the entertainment will be free on my iPad or included - particularly when I have to PAY to get a decent seat. It isn't right that entertainment isn't included for the extra price!"
Cons: "Entertainment is very expensive... no distractions from that end for my work though...silver lining I guess. Internet is similarly very expensive"
Cons: "Put on stand-by despite booking flight months ahead of time, just because we did not check in 24 hours ahead of time."
Pros: "Good in-flight entertainment using the app. Decent staff overall."
Cons: "On our booking through Kayak, this was only listedas an Air canada flight, however, when I couldn't check in online and phoned Air canada (which took 30min), they said it was operated by United and had to check in on united.com. Why was there. o mention of this?? It took me phoning to find out what airline I was flying with! Also, a United staff person told us we didn't need to touch our bags in calgary en route tonour final Saskatoon destination, which was wrong."
Cons: "Not like Air Canada ... I can tell the staff are tired of their jobs. Entertainment you needed to pay for. Really bare bones"
Pros: "Co passengers friendliness"
Cons: "The tiny cup with more ice than refreshment. Small bottles of water would be great - less likely to spill over in bad weather and thirst would also be quenched. Lack of luggage space for those of us with the correct allowance hand luggage instead of all the extra large pieces because people don't want to go to baggage claims or pay for baggage. Truly their suitcase not paid for is the same as mine paid for. Difference is the inconvenience of having to keep my hand luggage at my feet because of the larger pieces filled by passengers in group 1, 2, and 3 over my designated seat area."
Cons: "Landing at dulles - we had to deplane from the outside. Would be nice to have it connected so we walk from plane to covered ramp inside to airport. Didn't serve a snack and they usually do."
Cons: "With maintenance delays, I wouldn't make any connections."
Pros: "I like the prompt service at the receiving end."
Cons: "That everything needed to be hurry up when there was plenty of time to do what needed to be done. I was given a ticket for some one else together with mine. ..."
Pros: "We arrived safely along with our baggage."
Cons: "Major weather issues so delayed boarding and flight. That's understandable, but poor, often rude, gate operations. Often no, inaccurate, or misleading information. They seemed confused, as if this were the first time event."
Pros: "The flight is on time."
Cons: "I wouldn't know since I wasn't on it and I'm still in the airport waiting for my flight. I have to try to get comfortable on the floor right now."
