Cons: "Was in first class front row. I was offered only one drink the entire 6.5 hour flight. The flight attendant in first class never came around and asked if i would like anything else. The potatoes served with the meal were not cooked completely and they let the entire coach section use the forward bathroom so it was like sitting at the very back. Had to wait several times for several others before i could use the first class lavatory. They didn't turn off the cabin lights until very late in the flight so we could sleep. The flight attendant(s) in first class were not friendly. Wifi was horrible and almost not useable. Definitely not worth the $29 I had to pay. I fly this trip regularly and are almost always delighted but this trip was disappointing to say the least."

Cons: "1) not that alaska does any worse than others, but boarding is increasingly unpleasant. 5 grades of 'rewards' groups boards, then children, then military, then the elderly, etc. by the time people who paid full fair for their tickets board there's no overhead space left. by charging for any checked bags, the airlines are creating a very stressful and disorganized boarding experience; 2) the ambiance is just dull: cheesy music, dull, grey colors, poor lighting, etc. it just feels as if you're in a space designed by someone with no taste--and this is from the company that bought and killed virgin!? 3) the food is the same cheese plate and tapas plate i get on other airlines. 4) no special greeting upon boarding. it wouldn't take much to make the entire experience pleasant, but alaska and others don't feel the need to make the effort."

If we could not get on the flight then the soonest we could fly out was 48+ hrs away, arriving in Seattle at 2 AM on Monday morning. we had no one available to pick us up, we live 1 hr away from airport. After many announcements and many incentives offered 2 young ladies did give up their seats and we could get on. The flight went well but we were extremely upset with the promise of confirmation and the obvious overbooking. It probably is what many airlines do but not good customer service was given to us. We often fly Alaska but this was a bad experience."

We were each provided a $100 credit memo for future travel, but when we tried to reschedule our return trip to avoid LAX we were told the credit could only be used for new travel. Not happy about either the delay or the inability to use the $100 each credits. On top of that, we had to pay $400 rescheduling fees for the two tickets. That looks like a threefer to me. Pretty much sucks."

Airline delay caused 2 hour delay getting our rental car. We didn't get to our lodging until midnight and should have been there by 7 pm."

I only fly with this airline , and in first class, because I have sooooo many miles.. if that weren't the case I would try someone else. Who knows , maybe they would not be any better."

The app also wouldn't let me select email boarding pass after I viewed the electronic one. The app also would start over every time my screen rotated or my screen locked. Pros: "The plane was held a few minutes to give us time for a quick transfer since we were late arriving. Even our luggage made it onto the plane with us. The whole Hawaiian staff and crew were so helpful getting us to our connecting flight in time. We were even offered a yummy Rum Punch drink on our flight. Hawaiian flight attendants all the friendliest and most helpful of any airline I've experienced!"

Cons: "While we were in the Hawaiian Airlines Plumeria lounge, they should've let us know that we were about to miss our flight. Especially with taking care of an 8 month of baby, sometimes you lose track of time. We missed the original flight even though we had asked the front desk agent to contact the gate to hold it for us for a few minutes. When we arrived at the gate, the ramp had already been retracted so we missed our flight. Next flight was the next day so we had to rent another rental car, another night's hotel totaling an extra $200 in Waikiki. At least they changed my flight without fees. But overall a bad experience."

I was supposed to have a 1.5 hour layover. I barely made my connection as I only had 20 minutes left until takeoff by the time we got off the plane."

Cons: "The connection in Miami didn’t happen - the flights crew on the ORLANDO yo to Miami flight were rude and unhelpful - the plane sat in the tarmac waiting for a gate so flight arrived 15 minutes before planned departure - we inquired as to whether the plane would be held - response- despite having internet access was “ I don’t know “ you’ll have to check with gate agent - oh and by the way the flight attendant was virtually laying on the front seats - she as grossly obese and was so large as he walked the aisles she would hit passengers every time she turned around - we ran to the gate arriving 8 minutes before departure - gate was shut two gate agents were reading social media posts on their phones - we inquired about the flight - the gate agent said “ you missed the flight “ and then sat down and continued on her phone - the other one at least looked up and told us where to them go for assistance - eventually we were assisted and offferd 1 to wait u til the next day to go or to go through London - we took the London option. 1. I was informed by anAA employee they the connection is frequently missed due to similar problems. 2. Flight attendants and gate agents will bankrupt the airline with their horrible attitude. - they should be fired."

We finally got off the ground almost three hours late but staff tried to be as helpful as possible though they didn’t know much. It was good the passengers seemed fairly patient and accepting. The horror was at the airport in Venice where it took over two hours in very long line just to get through passport check."

Flight crew did not check seatbelts prior to takeoff in the forward section of coach. At least one seatbelt remained unsecured and one child had a backpack on his lap during takeoff. Very unprofessional crew. Credit card promotions over the PA system were very annoying and unintelligible."

Pros: "AA canceled our flight on 9/13 and rescheduled us to 9/15 for no apparent reason. There were flights leaving Orlando. When I called to ask why since all I received was a text message the customer service rep was rude. Then I received another text message on 9/13 at 4:30 am saying my flight was canceled and we were rebooked again!!! After calling again I was told if I want to leave on Friday we would have to leave from another airport that was over an hour away which means $225 in transportation to get us there! This is on top of the 2 additional hotel nights we paid for and additional meals. When I asked if we would be compensated for all the additional expenses we were incurring I was told it's weather related so probably not. I informed the rep that flights have been leaving Orlando since Tuesday 9/12 so that cannot be the case. She said to try to contact them online. UNACCEPTABLE. I will not fly AA again and I will not recommend them to family or friends. If I could give zero stars I would but the survey defaults to one star."

Pros: "Nice modern plane. Even though the flight was delayed, we ended up boarding earlier than expected and arrived pretty close to our original expected arrival time."
Cons: "The crew was nice and everything, but they weren't very good at making announcements on the loudspeaker. You could tell they didn't really know what they were saying or haven't practiced. One lady was trying to make a sales pitch for a new master card and you could tell she was reading and there were long pauses. My sense is that when using the loudspeaker to talk to the entire flight, one should be practiced and know what they're saying and communicate quickly and efficiently. Don't mean to be critical, but it's something that I noticed that could be improved."

Cons: "The flight attendants were highly rude and i felt as if i was discriminated on. I was sitting in the back and the flight attendant who was suppose to assist us made us feel like i was a bother to her. First of all she just rudly dropped biscuits on my table didnt ask if i wanted and then I had to ask her for coffee, she didnt ask me if i wanted something to drink. Finally she brought my daughter and I some coffee. i ask for sugar and she said im very busy you have to wait....eventually she gave me one packet of sugar. I had to ask for another sugar for my daughter , so when i ask she gets upset and tells me i have to wait but there as a white who ask for assistance and she was very polite to her."

I received errors when trying to access gogoinflight on my tablet, even when I had the most updated app. Therefore I was unable to use the app during my flight to Philadelphia. Also, when checking in from our original departure location, MCO, we were not provided our boarding pass or luggage tags for our final destination, Barcelona, only to our connecting flight, Philadelphia. The connecting flight was delayed in MCO for an 1 hour and a half, after we have boarded the plane. So we waited in the plane for the whole hour and half while a maintenance issue was being resolved. The delay almost cost us to be late for our final flight to Barcelona. Since we were not given our boarding passes for PHL to BCL it caused confusion when trying to board our plane in PHL to Barcelona, and also caused for our baggage to not arrive with the flight. After landing, we spent an additional 2 hours at the Airport going through customs, and waiting on line for the lost and found desk for baggage in Barcelona. The lost and found desk had three agents available to assist, however we can only talk to one which was designated specifically for American Airlines. This caused a very long wait time of 1 hour. We were advised the bags stayed in Phildelaphia since they did not have the additional luggage tags, and will not arrive till the next day. Overall the experience within the Airport kiosks, service desks, and baggage check in' s was not a pleasant experience. I believe many of these issues could have been avoided if the American Airlines agents were more knowledgeable and attentive."

(Oh yeah - we were late taking off to start my vacation from Philly because a crew failed to arrive to "start the engines of the aircraft," per captain's announcement. The entire aircraft boarded and sat, again, for 30 minutes without any air conditioning or air flow in the cabin.) Blah experience. Blah employees. And two different captains announced the reasons for delay with an "annoyed tone.""

Cons: "Boarding was a mess - I couldn't distinguish the line and elbow my way to the front before the gate agent called the two boarding groups behind me."

Pros: "I did not actually get to take this flight. My father was placed into hospice right before this trip and passed away about a week later. The airline was kind and sympathetic and refunded the total airfare. They made the whole thing much easier than anticipated."

Cons: "American Airlines are incompetent. Almost 3 hour delays for no reason. The lavatory was not working so delayed the flight for it when the plane has been sitting there for 2 hours before the flight time. In they end the decided to fly with the lavatory after waiting for 1 hour take off time. Then that chained different causes, runway delay times and gate taxi delays at landing. The flight was very bumpy because they were trying to make up for lost time, such a mess."

Cons: "Plane was very warm upon boarding due to issues with auxiliary cooling but informed it would change as engines turned on . I sat in row 20 and it was very cold during flight. Flight attendant inquired about comfort. It improved for about 10 minutes and returned to cold state . Noticed that one attendant put on some kind of jacket due to coldness . Nearby passengers retrieved blankets from their carry on baggage. Glad I had at least a light jacket to throw over me and that my legs were partially covered. Guess it's better to be too cool than too hot. Otherwise. It was s great flight ."

Cons: "Flight was changed which left me with five minutes to get off one plane and onto another. I got to my first gate early and attempted to ask the person there about the timing. She walked away without looking at. On her way down the hall says it will be open in an hour. An hour later I go to the gate. A woman is there and finishing up with another customer. When it was my turn, she said she was closed, yet she helped the joy behind me for over an hour. I know this because I got In the generic questions line and stood there for an hour watching the woman who was "closed" help this guy. When I was FINALLY able to talk to someone, the only thing he told me was to walk fast. That was well worth the 2 hour wait. I will never fly with American again."

Cons: "Then take different fly from Florida to NC then waiting another fly at 5:45 pm to Dallas at 8:45pm. My fly should be 1:30 to Dallas 4:30pm non stop, that day we have appointments 8Pm. End up we back to Dallas 9Pm is bad. If we waiting for fly from 8Pm delay we may be home or be home at midnight time that is very bad."

"If you plan to fly United and want to watch a movie, plan to bring both types of headsets. ( 1 for smart phones, 1 old school headset). My flight going required the old school headset, except the seat I was in had a broken port and since subtitles were not available, I had to watch my movie without sound(fun!). On the way back, United offered the United app where you can access movies from your smart phone, except I didn’t bring smart head phones. Since I watched a silent movie going, how much worse could it get? Well, it got worse since no movie would even load. The crew explained that we were traveling over water and that was the reason, but I tried on and off for the whole flight and the movie never loaded so that reason sounds like bullshit."

Well, it was on full display today on our flight from LAX to Kona repleat with the veteran battle ax barking orders at passengers; “The Bathroom is by the blue curtaaaaaaiiiins!!!!!’ Poor victim seemed utterly humiliated. Seating is cramped, seats narrow and unsupportive and the old 757’s (c. 1997) entertainment system is ancient...the touch screens seemed unresponsive, but were in fact just slow...as 5-7 seconds would elapse between touching the screen and the command being implemented. A full re-boot was ordered about 30-45 minutes into the flight. As expected, there were some bumps in the air, but we welcommed them because it required the crew to sit down, freeing us of their ultra passive agressiveness."

Cons: "LAX now buses people to the planes. We stood on the bus for 45 minutes and then drove for 10 minutes on an active taxi way. The crew for united just does not seem motivated anymore on any flight. Even in first class we were offered water only 2 on a 5 hour flight. The crew just sat in the front and looked at their phones. The food made me sick for two days - so it is better to just not eat it and bring your own. It is sad as I united used to be a great airline and now they just seem to focus on what new fee they can charge."

Cons: "I volunteered to gate check my instruments (which I NEVER do because it’s not my hobby, it’s my livelihood). When I did, I made very clear that I’ll ONLY do it if it’s handed to me at the gate when I arrive. It CANNOT go into baggage claim because it’s 2 $3000, left handed, vintage Paul McCartney basses packed in one bag. The gentleman assured me that I’d have it handed to me upon arrival. It isn’t designed to go through the rough handling of people I’ve never met or trusted. So I got to Denver and waited at the gate until someone told me, “oh no that’s gonna be down in baggage claim” Needless to say, I’m scared to death and I don’t even know where $6000 worth of instruments of mine, is right now. I wish people would communicate when they promise things."

Cons: "This flight was actually from Denver to Kona. There was 1.5 hour delay due to mechanical issue with plane, so we had to switch gates and planes. That wasn't so bad. What made it bad was an extra 45 minute delay because apparently maintenance forgot to sign off on the new plane. Also, the space below the seat for my feet and carry-on was unacceptable. All the aisle seats like mine had only half the space of the window seats for their feet. If you're in an aisle seat on that plane, it's impossible to fit anything but the size of a small purse under the seat in front of you. And the middle seat fares only a bit better. Finally, with 7 hours of flight time plus about an hour waiting to depart from gate on plane, the crew ignorantly decided to hand out the Hawaii form to fill out within 2 minutes of preparing to land. Many people didn't have time to fill out the form before being required to put tray tables up. Fortunately, these forms aren't as serious as going thru customs, but it's stupid to pass out the forms that late into the flight expecting people to complete them."

We paid extra for extra leg room and exit seats, though what was left was given away free, which felt a bit unfair for those who paid in advance extra? Most traumatic was on the return trip, at the gate as we were removed from our prepaid seats, due to the fact that the ground crew checking us in asked us abruptly weather we could assist in the case of emergency, I replied, "Yes", but my partner was confused and did not understood the question nor the context as to what or why she was being asked! As I tried to explained that she was German and that the question had confused her and didn't primped reply, the crew stope us from boarding the flight, and demanded that our seats be changed for someone who could understand English! We explained that we both understood and spoke English perfectly well... But no one was going to reason with us and quickly removed us from our seats and had us put into the back sectioned which was without extralegal room and proceeded to give our seat out to another couple who volunteered... Without charging extra... It was appalling their behavior and unreasonable gestures towards their customers and at that a Gold member of the Alliance. We will no longer book flights with United no matter what comes, even if we have to fly around the world to get there pay triple etc. It felt a hint of racism and with the state of things, I do hope others take heed in consideration of flying with this airline. Thank you"
