There were no updates from the desk leading up to 9:15pm - we were subsequently informed that the crew for the flight was at a different terminal in the airport and would arrive within 40 minutes. There was no update to the display board of the anticipated boarding time or arrival. Limited and poor communication overall. Once ready to board, the desk attendants insisted passengers check their bags because it would be "faster" since it wasn't certain if there would be sufficient overhead space. There was extra overhead space and we ended up having to wait 45 minutes for our luggage (small backpacks) upon arriving at midnight thanks to this desk attendant's short-sighted decision making. I will avoid American Airlines at all costs after this experience."

Also couldn't find the free entertainment only movies or shows for $2 or $5; and it was going to let me pay for them without having the working app on my phone so I couldn't have watched it. Southwest's entertainment system is much better"

I will make sure that I never book on the CRJ700 flight to Houston again if I can avoid it!"

Clearly not anyone's fault, but still frustrating and not a great flying experience."

Cons: "Flight was cancelled in Newark for an unknown reason. Luggage was then delayed because nobody from united cared to change it onto the new flight I was assigned to."
Cons: "We were diverted from Pittsburgh because of fog. Other flights landed shortly thereafter from other airlines which was frustrating, but a short delay did not ruin the day. We landed instead at Dulles. After sitting and waiting for hours we were finally all put back on the plane. Then we taxied out before the pilot told us they were over their hours or something along those lines and couldn't submit the paperwork necessary to take off. We went back to the gate and were told to wait some more in case there were more pilots. No more pilots came. No more flights were available. Instead we all hovered either around the gate desk or the customer service desk where we were told we couldn't be helped. We were instead forced to pile onto buses nearly 5 hours after we had landed at the wrong airport. We then spent another 6 hours on the road driving to Pittsburgh on a bus that was crowded and hot because the air conditioning kept failing. Because of some fog and a lot of incompetence, I arrived in Pittsburgh over 12 hours after I was supposed to. My trip in total lasted 20 hours from my flight in Seattle taking off. I missed an important event for the wedding that weekend, which was upsetting given the distance I had to travel and the amount of extra time I had scheduled in for myself, but the way we were treated was worse. There was no positive communication. Nobody knew anything. We were clearly an inconvenience that nobody knew what to do with so they just kept trying to push us off to the next person. It was infuriating and unacceptable I will never fly United again if I can possibly help it."

I tried to change my seat online, and was only given the option of 1 other middle seat. I have to have an aisle seat because of arthritis, and I need to walk around during flight. There were long lines at the desk at the gate, and I couldn't stand there to get my seat changed. Now I'm dealing with lots of leg pain as a result. I NEVER would have booked this flight if I'd known I would'nt have an aisle seat. IT IS "BAIT AND SWITCH"!"

Cons: "Flight was cancelled due to mechanical issues after waiting for 3 hours. The next flight they put me on was the next day on another airline. They put us up in a shity hotel and the meal vouchers only worked at the airport where everything was closed by then or hotel which had no restaurant. United offered a $50 compensation which is a kick in the teeth compared to the inconvenience I was put trough. If I don't get properly compensated from United for that horrible experience I will never fly them again and tell everyone I know to never fly United."

The lady at the counter thank god ran down to delta and got us a flight to atlanta then to st louis. Cons: "They sold an economy class ticket to a 400 pound woman by the window seat of my row and she spilled 50% of the way into the middle seat. The woman assigned the middle switched with a relatively thin member of her own party, but the poor kid was still cheated of his space and pushed against me in the aisle seat. I know it's considered insensitive to complain about the morbidly obese, but c'mon!!! Her inability to control her weight has affected me in a material way by subjecting me and the kid in the middle to 3 1/2 hours of misery. I guess the airline CAN'T call this issue to her attention for fear of discrimination charges, but they might make some kind of compensation (free flight, or at least a food coupon, or a pass to the United Club) to assuage the injured seatmates. Also, the airline was generous with drinks, but served no snack. Nothing? Really? I really don't like United, but, unfortunately, it's the main airline flying my route. I fly them only when there is no other choice."

Cons: "Plane was supposed to board at 2:45, but didn't even arrive at the gate until after 3:00, and still had to unload. We were finally on board by 3:30 (departure time) but the pilot blamed it on getting the paperwork late, and said we now had to wait for fuel. During that time, a couple storms moved in, and we ended up sitting on the tarmac for over an hour. It's one thing to be late, but it was a pretty pathetic attempt to divert blame to the crew at the airport."

I would not fly with this airline again unless it was a very short flight and I could fit all my luggage in a backpack."
Cons: "Spirit Airlines website is awful. My airfare was good, however, by the time I paid for 1 baggage, a seat reservation my round trip airfare and taxes my air fare nearly doubled. If I didn't have access to a computer I would have paid more at the airport to check my bag and I would have had to pay to for my boarding pass!! I would have preferred to have 2 carry on bags - a purse and 1 bag, and a smaller bag to check. Instead I had to pack some very personal items in my larger checked bag so that I didn't have to pay for a second carry on. I wish I had researched other air lines before booking my flight with Spirit. I don't know if I would fly with Spirit again."

Cons: "My flight from Fort Meyers to Boston was cancelled on Monday due to snow so I thought, no problem, another day in paradise. My flight was supposed to leave at 144pm on Tuesday, but we didn't board until 4p! There was no snow on Tuesday so we were told the problem was "our paperwork" needing to be cleared. We sat on a packed plane for 40 minutes until the captain came on and said that "our paperwork" had cleared and we would be taking off in 5 minutes. 5 minutes later, at 445pm, the exact time we were originally scheduled to be landing in Boston, a flight attendant came on and said the flight was cancelled and everyone needed to get off the plane!!!! Seriously!?! I headed right to the JetBlue counter and booked a flight home that night. I paid a king's ransom for the one way flight, but at least they didn't cancel it! Never again will I book a flight with Spirit Air."

Cons: "Seat were small and tight. All food and drinks were sold, not even water available to passengers. They charge outrageous prices for carry on luggage. It cost me $55.00 at the airport to bring my carry on bag on board. I was told I should have paid for it before hand w;hen I booked the flight and it would have only been $45.00! This is not for checked bags but carry ones bags!"

This made our return flight to Cleveland late. Interestingly this was the same issue with our flight from Cleveland to Ft. Myers. Issue with plane in LA. We didn't get notification that flight was late until we reached the gate."

Cons: "Their checking in online process is terrible. It is not clear when you check in that they assign you a seat for free. It is made to seem like you must pay additionally for a seat. Then you have to pay for carry on or checked lugged, and if you don't do it online ahead of time, you pay $100 at the airport! There website does not function well to fix an checking in issues and you can't get a live person on the phone to help you. I could go on, but I will never fly with them again."

Pros: "I really loved the concise manner of boarding and seating. The attendants were friendly, informative, and quick witted. I did not experience overbooking or being too cramped."
Cons: "I didn't think this flight would make you pay an arm and a leg for what other airlines just include for free! And to top it off, they only accept cards. How inconvenient. Also, I had to pay 105 dollars to check a bag and bring a carry on. Who doesn't allow you to check bags??"

They tell you a price will be charged for a carry-on, but it turns out this price only applies if you pay for membership in a club - if you are not a member, the price is even higher. This is only made known when it is time to print your boarding passes. You are charged for choosing your seat, and it's not clear if you will be seated with the person you are traveling with if you do not pay that fee. Their charging system is kind of ridiculous, and it should be made more clear what things will cost you."

Cons: "I have never been afraid of crashing on a plane ever before & would never consider flying Spirit again. When I asked the flight attendant about the "weathered" condition of the plane, he told me that this plane was the oldest one in the fleet, they have been using all their brand-new planes, so he wasn't sure why this one was being used again. Not looking for comfort (which you obviously don't get in those seats), food or frills. But when the plane looks old and weathered and my reading light doesn't work, you tend to get a little concerned about the maintenance of the planes and your overall safety! Not worth saving $50!"

The baggage fees and seat fees are over the top and the airline cancelled my flight on Dec. 25 and said they were unable to accommodate me until Jan. 4th. Seriously. This airline is a joke!"
