Cons: "Earlier in the day when I was checking in, there was a prompt to be added to the list of volunteers to take a different flight should one of my later flights (it did not specify, I flew from DAY to ATL, and then ATL to ORF) was overbooked. My schedule was accommodating enough that I selected yes. In ATL I was called up as a potential volunteer as they needed 3 volunteers to take a later flight that day. I was told that I was not initially assigned a seat since I had earlier agreed to be a potential volunteer. I was okay with all of this. We were told that the decision would be made at the end of boarding, and we would know if our seats were needed. At the end of boarding they called for the 3 volunteers to board. I was the last one to board and was given my seat assignment. Once I got on the plane I saw that someone had already been assigned my seat and let a flight attendant know what had happened. I stood on the plane for about 10 minutes while the flight attendants and other crew members tried to figure out what had happened. My name was not listed under any cabin (main, comfort, etc) even though I had a ticket and a seat assignment. Eventually they had to open the doors again for me to get off the plan as there were no available seats. Once I got back to the gate podium I was booked on a later flight, as would have been the case had the normal course of action for volunteering to give up my seat taken place. Everyone was extremely helpful in trying to figure out what had happened, but it was still frustrating that it had to happen in that way. Luckily I don't believe the delay caused any major delay for the flight. In the end, things worked out fine, it just seems as though this is an issue that didn't need to happen."

An announcement was made that in Atlanta which is Delta hub, there were no flight attendants for the flight so we had to wait for another crew to fly in. That's just unporfessiknal. To make matters worse, the gate agents didn't make announcements even if just to say we know this isn't good and we will update you asap even if just to tell you we are still waiting on word. Total silence and seeing the gate agents laugh and talk amongst each other was pretty bad."

Cons: "Everything that could have gone wrong with my flights, went wrong. On my way from LA to Raleigh (through Atlanta), I was affected by the weather conditions at Atlanta. I understand that the weather is beyond Delta's scope of control, but customer service is not. I had to wait in line at LAX for 8 hours to even get information on what had happened, and what solutions were available. The customer service call center was collapsed, and at the airport counters at one point there was ONLY ONE DELTA REPRESENTATIVE serving a line of more than 100 upset customers. This IS Delta's fault, and it is unacceptable. This definitely was under Delta's control, but in order to save a few dollars in overtime for emergency staff Delta was willing to let its customers make terribly long lines, miss their flights, their connections and consequently their commitments. It is disappointing to observe how Delta believes that a few dollars saved on extra staff and emergency measures can offset the irreparable long term damage to its business due to upset customers. My way back from Raleigh to Los Angeles was also a disaster. Without any type of explanation and nothing more than an email announcing the change, the nonstop flight I bought was replaced by a 1-stop flight with connection in Atlanta. This was NOT THE PRODUCT I PURCHASED. There is a reason I paid a premium for a nonstop flight, and Delta did not hesitate in providing me with a less valuable product without any explanation or refund. Delta prioritizes its operational metrics - an obsession to fill and overbook its capacity - over its customers' experience, one again under the foolish belief that short term savings in any way offset the long term damage of disappointed and alienated customers. I will NEVER FLY DELTA AGAIN. I will do whatever I can to transmit my experience to everyone I know. At a time where major airline carriers are in the spotlight due to abusive practices (i.e. the United passenger case), I still find hope in knowing that alternatives such as Southwest still put their customers first, over the ethereal benefits that a few-dollar savings in operational expenses can provide."

Cons: "I did not like how we were treated by the United Airline Crew front desk when we were getting our boarding pass, they immediately say that due to myself having a Philippine Passport and A US Green Card holder they needed to check with Japan Immigration and in the end of waiting they said that we can’t board the plane because of my citizenship status and I needed to get a Japan VISA, I felt discriminated for something I do not know about when I purchased the tickets via online it doesn’t even show if there were any requirements needed in order for me to travel to Japan. My overall Review is a big ZERO and Unsatisfactory of how they treat their customers."

My husband has work at 5:30 in the morning as well as my brother who was supposed to pick us up and they are in the navy so being late isn't an option. My brother could no longer pick us up due to the fact that we did t get our luggage until 1 in the morning and he has work in a few hours so we had to wait for a taxi and pay a buttload to get home in Virginia Beach. NOT PLEASED!!"

Why you are asking customers to download the United app instead of providing onboard entertainment like almost every other airline in the world is unknown to me. In comparison with other airlines (particularly airlines in Asia), it was downright egregious. The airlines top people obviously have no interest in providing any comfort for the those who are unwilling to pay the extra money. I do not understand why the airlines believes people should have to pay for their own meal on a 7 hour flight when they've already shelled out the money for the flight. In addition, why should I have to pay an extra $89 for a so-called premium aisle seat? It's completely inexplicable that the state of all airlines in America have fallen to this level."

I was told where to go with the wave of her hand and she did not want to be bothered more...got to the gated area and the agents there were way too busy chatting to be bothered. On my return trip home was better because i now knew the layout. I am sure my next trip will be improved."

On this trip we flew a total of 4 legs (with 5 boarding opportunities due to one leg being rescheduled to the next day as a result of delays) and had "mechnical delays" on 4 of the 5 boarding opportunities. We won't be flying United again."
