Example, on one flight I had a fish dish which was overcooked very dry and there was no sauce of any kind to make it palatable. I do not like to throw food away but half way into the meal I had enough. Other than that Qatar Airlines was really first class. The flight attendants were the best we have ever experienced. Their dress was immaculate, they were very friendly and attentive and were there to make the flight as comfortable as possible plus cater to all requests."

Further the flight crew including the pilot were acting like victims. I asked at the luggage check-in at O'Hare International Airport if they can check it all the way through as I had planned to go outside of the Narita airport for the layover. They told me I couldn't check the luggage all the way through and that I had to pick it up from baggage claim once I land in Narita. From there I had to check-in the luggage again on the same day. When I took my luggage out from baggage claim, I tried to check-in and the counter crew told me I was given wrong information. I had to keep my luggage with me until my flight the following day. On my return flight from Manila and another overnight layover in Narita, the check-in crew at NAIA told me I could check-in my luggage all the way through, and that they also allowed this at my outbound flight to Manila. The check-in crew at O'Hare International Airport gave me wrong information."

They said they'll get right to it, handed me my tickets and sent me on my way. It never happened. Not a big deal, I can request the mileage post flight, but still something. Look at my tickets, that I had booked a week in advance and specifically reserved an aisle seat. My ticket says "Priority Verification," whatever that means. Turns out it means you don't have a seat, and you get the worst of the worst. So what seat is the worst? How about the middle seat in a row of 5. The middle in a row of 5, on a transoceanic flight... What kind of airlines has 5 in a row? The guy next to me spent $300 for his ticket, I spent $1200, for the same flight, and this is the kind of seat I get? The plane felt like it was straight out of the 90's, carpeted center walls, old seats, tiny tv's. Overall, a plane that felt had not been updated in decades. Took 20 minutes for a flight attendant to respond to the flight attendant sign. This wasn't during beverage or food service, just a normal time at cruising altitude. They also don't have eye masks. Every other transoceanic flight I've been on has them provided in the seat pocket, American Airlines doesn't even have them on the plane! Economy class has no USB or power outlets, the in flight entertainment is about a 5" screen in probably 260p resolution. Decent selection of movies, but you have to join the movie in progress or wait approx 10 minutes for the next movie to start. Legroom was okay unless you had one of the entertainment boxes in your way, then that takes up 30% of your space. Some of the tray tables do not have cup holders, on the top, bottom, or anywhere on it. Also my table was tilted, so every time I put a cup on it, it slid right off. Seems like a minor complaint, but eating dinner and fighting a sliding cup the whole time is a pain. Dinner and breakfast tasted decent, but you can tell American is cheap on the food. Most airlines will give something like a main course, a bread roll, fruit cup/salad, juice, small dessert. American gives you the main course and a fruit cup and that is all. Crappy utensils too. Overall, if I had paid maybe $200 for the flight, I wouldn't have any room to complain, but because American holds the government carrier contract for FY17, I had to fly on them at exorbitant cost, and would never recommend them to anyone."

The connection time allowed was not nearly enough even if the plane had not been an hour late and there are no flights to asahikawa from narita. yo have to transfer to hanaeda. remind me not to fly United to Tokyo again as I’m pretty sure the flight was canceled because it was not full enough. Even the narita flight with all the hanaeda passengers rebooked on it was not full. So i suspect this may be a relatively common occurance on the hanaeda flight."

Pros: "The ticket staff. The only thing about the Harlingen airport is that it needs more than a couple of exray machines ....the Valley is woefully behind in staff training and technology. It took forever to get through the short lines...it was too long of a wait."
Cons: "The way that a couple of young AA men who were biligirent, combative and vulgar upset about their seat assignments. I told one of the young men to stop using vulgarity and no way to treat the lady that was doing her job, she continued treating them with courtesy and they kept mumbling under their breath God knows what. So young and already so bitter. They were towering over her and took a confrontational stance...she finally called security. I would not allowed them on the plane. I commend the young lady there in Harlingen."
Pros: "The flight experience was as usual. There was nothing out of the ordinary for me. The airline was good and the crew was great. Economy sitting on any long flight is never excellent."
Cons: "The entertainment was okay. It was one of the older model aircraft, so no seat selection of entertainment."

Pros: "The plane was clean and the crew were pleasant and polite. I was a little surprised that the pilot announced they wanted to leave early; there were a couple of announcements about that while we were boarding. When we arrived at LAX there wasn't a gate available, because we were early, so I don't think we gained anything other than a feeling of being herded quickly."
Cons: "Entertainment options were limited; Friends and Big Bang reruns plus some music videos. According to the app, these don't work on Windows 8, which is what I had. The seats are cramped with very little tilt. I had an aisle seat and was hit by nearly everyone walking by, even though it wasn't a rough flight. I would rather not fly with this airline; I don't see anything that they do that would encourage my return business. Frankly, I've had better flights on Southwest!"

Cons: "On Friday I was unable to fly to Fort Lauderdale Florida due to airport close due to hurricane. United Airlines refused to refund my money even them knowing there was no way I was able to use the ticket because I never made it to Florida. Airline companies are bunch of thiefs."
Cons: "Flight attendants were indifferent at best, mean and couldn't be bothered. I travel in 3rd world countries all the time and this was exponentially worse than any travel experience I've had. UAL needs to retire their indifferent employees who are clearly punching the clock until retirement. Several, not all, the flight attendants spent their time in the back gossiping and complaining about UAL management vs bringing out water (which they never did on a nearly 9 hour flight). If you have a choice, never fly UAL international."

Cons: "Announcements made in piercing tones' I understand the necessity and that they are made in several languages, however they were loud and jarring.."
Pros: "The flight boarded early and orderly. We were able to take off a few minutes early because of that. Flight & seats were very comfortable. Crew were very courteous & professional (even at that early hour). Arrived at SFO approx. 15-20 minutes early. Wish all of my flights went this great. Thank You"
Cons: "I didn't order any food, was only given a snack so I can't really comment on food. There were plenty of drinks offered by crew throughout entire flight."

Cons: "The seats are so narrow in coach that the man with broad shoulders that sat next to me could not help being in my seat. I needed to be able to sleep, since it was an overnight flight. This was not possible."
Pros: "The staff that worked for United was very friendly, professional, and they provided great alternatives due to the fact that the flight was delayed for almost 2 hours. They offered paid lodging and food vouchers if I would've missed my flight."
Cons: "The flight was delayed for almost 2 hours because there was a maintenance problem. It left me with a five minute layover to get from one gate to the different gate One building away for my connecting flight. The plane also felt very old and definitely needs to be updated or replaced. The plastic panels where the lights and air vents are were slightly damaged to the point where they would dip low from the ceiling. No entertainment was offered."
Cons: "My flight was booked canceled then changed and rebooked without me knowing for a month later I was supposed to leave June 5th not July 5th I had to pay a extra $409 this trip cost me $781.00 for no reason I will Never use kayak again."
Pros: "There was a wonderful man named Mr. Hanson that helped me tremendously. This was the first time ever to fly and I was tremendously scared. He made my experience wonderdul. I intend to fly more often now. Thank you for hiring someone that loves his job."
Cons: "The seats on the layover flight were over booked. If Mr. Hanson had not of taken care of me on my my flight I would have had a different outcome on flying."
