It would've made more sense to put that person in one of our seats and us in that row to give four people more space instead of just one."

Then my flight the next day kept being delayed, first 5 min, then 20, then 40, etc until 2.5 hrs. Since the delays kept increasing, I decided to rebook on another flight with a very tight connection in Detroit--the only other option. When my flight arrived, the other fight was already boarding and I ran to make it. Luckily I got to the gate in time, just before the door closed. The original flight ended up with a 3.5 hr delay!!! That is unacceptable."

We were never asked about the infant traveling until we went to check in at the desk and were told we needed to pay taxes for the baby at a rate of 10% of the cost of the ticket. But because we were doing it on the day of the flight, 10% was almost $200! We did not receive good customer service from staff, who simply told us we "should have known to investigate this." We have never been asked to do this when flying with a baby before! This was after an hour and a half of already waiting to check in our bags. We were waiting so long and dealing with this issue for so long that we almost missed the flight! A terrible experience. Also, the web check in line took even longer than the line of people who had not checked in online beforehand! It was so slow, it added to us almost missing our flight. It was a waste of time to check in online, especially since they gave us new boarding passes when we checked our bags in anyway. We also had trouble finding both of our reservations, even though we booked them together as a family, so we ended up with seats that were not together. When we had an issue, we were given an attitude by the staff checking us in."

It entailed multiple phone calls and many trips to and from the airport before we got our surf boards. The COPA baggage people kept telling us they would call with updates as to when the board bag was going to arrive but they never did. We had to stay in an expensive hotel for three days in Panama City, which we didn't plan to stay in the city at all."

Flight crew told us that our plane was continuing on to Denver (my final destination.) After the other passengers had exited, a flight attendant made an announcement that we had to vacate the plane due to the crew change. I exited the plane. While I was in the airport restroom, the gate attendant made a garbled announcement that my flight was shifting gates. When I got back to the gate, the attendant told me that we were on a new plane leaving from a different gate. I had to run from gate 34 to gate 18, and was the last one to board. It would have been better we were told to go to the new gate before we exited."

Cons: "Without a doubt, the worst airline experience we've ever had to suffer through. HOW does Spirit expect to survive, much less prosper, with such abysmally poor customer service? . . The Spirit airlines customer experience lacks even the most minimal amenities--not to mention jacking customers with ridiculously exorbitant baggage fees!"

Cons: "Too many hidden fees! Buyer beware! The $55 carry on baggage fee is outrageous! We heard that the baggage fees are less if you book them online before your trip. We went online to do just that for the return trip and we were pleased to see that the fee was $36 - until we went to pay and there was a $9 fee tacked on because we weren't part of the "$9 Club"! We will never book with Spirit again. We will opt for the slightly higher flight cost and avoid the hidden fees! Overall, the flight was more expensive than any of our other options."
Cons: "Need better seats, need wifi and a plug so you can charge your phones or laptop but I guess that won't happen anytime soon you get what you paid for."
Cons: "Crew wasn't very friendly, especially at the gate in LA. I understand that they consider themselves a no-frills airline but the extra charges got to be a little ridiculous. I was surprised I didn't have to pay to use the restroom. The seats were uncomfortable and there was very little leg room. I don't think I'll be using this airline again."

Cons: "Our flight back from Baltimore to ft lauderdale had us sitting in the plane with no air conditioning for 1 1/2 hours and no ability to get off plane. We waited for a part to be delivered and installed. We should never have been boarded onto plane. I will not choose this airline again."

Cons: "The ticket price did not include a carry on. I had to pay an extra fee to bring one. I was assigned a random seat because I did not want to pay a fee to have one assigned. I was thirsty on the flight but there was a fee for water. I felt deceived by the low flight price and I was uncomfortable on the flight because of the lack of basic amenities."

Cons: "On my flight to Detroit I was told to turn off my iPad pro when the person sitting right next to me was told nothing and continued watching whatever their show was. On my flight back after paying to sit in an exit row someone from the back was placed next to me despite not paying and despite there being other regular open seats. I'm 6'8" and if I could just ask the stewardess to move me into an exit row and not pay I would too but I don't believe that is the way seating should work. There was also an hour delay going to Detroit and a 3 hour delay going back to Atlanta but that actually isn't what is making me write this review."

Cons: "First of all, I was never informed of the exorbitant fees for having a bag. I've been flying since I was literally in diapers, and have NEVER heard of paying for a carry -on. Especially something ridiculous like $55. I did not have the money at check in, and the people operating the kiosks were miserable, mopey, unhelpful drones. I ultimately had to call a friend and ask for money to be wired for this unexpected gauge. I was lucky to have gotten there so early- I have never spent so much time in an airport Pre-security. It's disgusting to have a business model based on such deceit- lure customers in with a cheaper flight price, only to stick them with pricey fees for virtually EVERYTHING once they get to the airport. Sleazy business at best. Once on the flight, there was so little legroom I could hardly sit up straight without my knees pushing into the seat in front of me. I felt bad for the attendants reading off scripted bland jokes on the intercom. Needless to say, I will NEVER be flying Spirit again, and will be advising all of my friends similarly."

Cons: "Cost of luggage is crazy! Leg room is tight my knees touch the seat in front of me. When buying liquor you must also purchase your mixer as well, doesn't seem right."
Cons: "My Friday 2:31 flight was cancelled. The soonest they could get me to Vegas was 12:49 on Saturday. A short weekend away just turned into a shorter weekend. Spirit would not refund for Hotel or Show tickets that I was unable to attend due to their flight cancellation. Nor would they refund me for the $9 long term parking bill I accrued for standing in their cancellation line for 2 1/2 hours on a Friday afternoon."
