Additionally, the mobile app is excellent since it allows you to check in and track your luggage."

I missed my connecting flight from LAX to JFK due to additional security screening. As such I was advised to head to the Delta terminal to be booked onto the next available flight to NYC. After waiting over an hour in line to be seen by a staff member, I was told that they couldn't change my ticket as it was a Virgin flight. The same staff member didn't seem to even understand the concept of 'co-share', and also told me that because I booked through Kayak and not Delta that they could not help me. This makes me think that booking through a third party is a risky move. I was told there was absolutely nothing she could do, and that I would have go to a Virgin Australia Counter. This involved taking all of my luggage from Terminal 5 - all the way to Terminal 3. I was assisted by Virgin Australia, where they apologized for my experience, and confirmed that it was Delta's responsibility (and that they were capable) of rebooking my flight. Virgin booked me onto a later flight, but I still had to walk back to Terminal 5 (Delta) to give them my checked luggage. I was once again told that I didn't have the right ticket (details listed Virgin and Delta flight number - so this was way too confusing for them). Finally they printed my a boarding card and took my bags. I then ran through security and to gate in time for my flight. Flight was fully booked, due to a many people no doubt experiencing the same thing. Food was awful. Was a big step down from the Virgin flight in every aspect. There was not a single Delta Staff member who would even try to understand or be helpful. I will never fly with Delta again."

After eating lunch at getting to gate B1 and waiting a while, I got an alert from the Delta app on my phone that said that the flight was now loading at A30. This was incorrect information that had several people upset. This was my first flight to use the Delta app to track my baggage. It was never updated to let me know where it was until after I landed in BHM. The app indicated that my bag was on another flight"

Pros: "I was in first class this time. The seat was comfortable for the flight of roughly 2-1/2 hours. We were served a continental breakfast that was filling and healthy with cereal, fresh fruit, Brie, soft crackers and yogurt. I'd rather have something simple but satisfying than something overcomplicated and possibly not that good. The crew was polite and efficient. I did have to use the lavatory at one point and I was happy that it was clean."

Cons: "Well my flight got delayed four separate times. I was stuck in LAX for 3 hours. So much that booked another flight with another airline for the following morning. I had to book a hotel nearby LAX just so I could somewhere to sleep for the night. My luggage made it to Chicago safely, but I didn’t at least not with American Airlines. It took them an hour to tell us that they reassigned the pilot to another flight, not only that when it was delayed the first initial time (40 minute delay) about ten minutes before we were supposed to board they tell us that the flight attendant crew is going to take 30 minutes to get to the gate. Not only but those poor airline service staff were completely unaware of all these changes! They had to find out from the passengers what was going on. Honestly I will never fly with American Airlines ever again!!!"

Cons: "The airline is so outdated and behind the times of their competitors, their in that they don't have in flight entertainment unless you download their app and give them your email address. On top of that when I originally booked my flights, I had made sure to have 1.5 hr for a layover between my connecting flights. Well, they decided to move up my connector such that I had 25 minutes to run across 2 terminals. They only give you pretzels on the plane, and a single soda drink. They offer you "food bundles" but why do I want to pay $8 for a sandwich that costs $1 to make."

They are trying to charge me $550 for this cancellation claiming they are not the ones who cancelled the reservation, and that I did. From what I understand the flight wasn't available in the first place and should not have been posted to purchase. British Airways will not take responsibility however."

Also leg room is getting reduced to 28 inches. I'm 5"11 and cramped. How is JetBlue better than American? How much will these airlines continue to bend us over. I didn't even take the screaming infant into account.... since it's not AA's fault for letting that baby on board."

Why don't airlines schedule a minimum 3hours between Int'l-domestic connections. half the plane was stressing and freaking out about missing their connection even though the plane landed on time. "AA is not responsible for customs/security delays". Well, your customer service agents would have a lot less work if you didn't have to reschedule 100 people per flight. The time the plane drives/parks at the gate, you get off the plane and make it through customs, get your bag, recheck it (if need be, we didn't this time though), get through security and get to your gate, you'll be the luckiest person in the world to do that in less than 90 minutes."

Cons: "It may be La Guardia Airport that is the one to blame and not AA, but long story short I was on the airplane on the ground in NY for about 5 hours. We had a domino effect of things happen that caused us to be delayed and then cancelled. First a Gate change to a different terminal after boarding was suppose to begin so we had to take a shuttle over and we're still missing 50 passengers, Engine problem that required maintenance, refuel because we were in the plane on the ground waiting for so long, deplane and replane for 10 mins because of a law, on the runway and back to the gate for all these different occasions. When they finally let us off the plane after all these hours it was because of weather (although the skies were blue and the pilot was confident it wouldn't be an issue) they didn't actually cancel the flight until 5pm, my flight was suppose to take off at 9am. They were also required by law to give us free snacks Bc we hadn't eaten all day or had fresh air--these were all chips and soda...in gluten free so I had to starve. AA customer relations said they couldn't compensate because the issue that was documented in their records for my flight cancellation was because of "weather"... my flight couldn't be rescheduled until the following afternoon, making me have to cancel work 2 days in a row and pay for multiple taxis and and extra night of boarding. I will NEVER fly AA or La Guardia again."

I had to book a flight with a different airline in order to get in town on time. How you can have a 3 hour delay 8 hours before a flight is supposed to leave is absolutely ridiculous."

They charge for food, water, and carry on baggage and have way higher fees on checked bags than other airlines. This information needs to be upfront to allow for a fair comparison and an informed choice."

Cons: "The extreme restrictions on luggage are very hard to deal with, and during the flight there are constant announcements for drinks and snacks for sale. Considering the base rate for a flight is only a little less than other airlines, and if you decide to pay for a reasonably-sized suitcase it's actually more expensive than other airlines, it doesn't make a lot of sense to fly with Spirit. It also feels like they're doing you a favor for even letting you on the plane, rather than grateful for your business. The entire Spirit experience drives me up a wall."

Even though the attendants were up and serving drinks in the aisle, they were turning people back to their seat that wanted to use the bathroom, while other passengers were allowed to get up and go to the bathroom. There was no turbulence and we had reached our cruising altitude. When the seat belt sign was turned off, we were warned that it would only be off for minutes because it was going to be turned back on for the descent. Will never fly Spirit again, lesson learned."

Pros: "I fly with spirit more than any other air line, and while a lot of people quibble about the fact that you have to pay for checked baggage, if you only bring carry on like me this isn't a problem. I like the friendly crew and the sense of comradery that this is "budget airline". No snooty people on board!"

Pay for those too. I don't even mind that. It provides incentive to pack less, have less, and overall be more efficient."
