It took 45 mins to deboard

Pleasantly surprised, first trip with Alaska. I am a business traveler does frequent travel. Crew is amazing moreover very very organized optimizing the boarding process, very helpful and efficient putting away carryons as well. Not like the major airline staff doesn’t even care.

TSA will always be a nightmare but the agents definitely need working scanners. Sending everyone's baggage through two different scanners three times is unnecessary for them. TSA agents also need to direct people on where they're supposed to stand while waiting for their bags so it keeps the flow of traffic moving. It would also make their lives easier if they were more attentive to the personal affects following the items that are to be scanned. That way they don't encounter irate travelers trying to make their flight through a novel long process along with agents not paying attention to items like wallets and boarding passes getting lost in the shuffle. Best way to mitigate this could perhaps be videos preparing travelers on what to do and expect while they wait in the long lines before going through security. I personally experienced the above happening to other travelers. I avoided all the trouble simply by communicating to the TSA agents and letting them know my property location. But expecting groggy citizens to speak up is like watching paint dry.

Flight was late, both taking off and landing.

Although I paid for more foot room my center seat was still cramped. I was happy to get a flight out a few hours later after missing my previous flight.

Boarding took a long time. Taking off took a long time. I spent over an hour connecting, disconnecting repeatedly from the Wifi just to watch the last 15 mins of the movie I watched on my first flight. Wasn’t offered ice with my drink. They passed me twice to throw out my garbage. And the guy next to me had his arm in my ribs the whole time.

Flight attendants are so overworked so when I see the their frowning faces barking orders at us I just try to be sympathetic but really, the days of happy flying seem gone.

Extra comfort with wider seats. And priority boarding as well. This was more like premium economy that you get with European airlines. For long haul flights, well worth the cost. Flight was delayed 2 hours, but Delta had their own special route in Shanghai airport to bypass a lot of the crowds either transferring or checking in for fight. I wouldn’t have made my connecting flight if they hadn’t. Plus my checked bags went straight thru to my final destination in china,n instead of having to pick up and re-check them in Shanghai."

Besides making me not trust the flight worthiness, the cancelations turned my 8 and a half hour trip into a 25 hour trip forcing me to spend the night in the MEX airport."

Cons: "The redesign of seats means that very few of Delta's planes can actually accommodate a sherpa-style pet carrier, even though they are an industry standard for in-cabin travel. Further complicating the problem is that the clearance under the seat varies depending where in the cabin you're seated. It's become an extremely stressful proposition for which I have the privilege of paying an extra +$100 each way whilst having to give up one of my carry ons. As far as I can see, the charge is just straight up greed, since no one would be able to use the space beneath the seat in front of me, anyway, and carrying on my cat cause zero extra work for the crew. I'm going to have rethink my loyalty to Delta. At least with Southwest, they'll let me check two bags for no additional cost."

Since Scranton is humid this time of year I also had heavily moisture-laden air blowing against me which occasionally felt like water droplets. The sound of forceful rushing air is annoying enough but the muscles in my neck were cramping due to the cold air on the first part of the flight. (This is NOT the personal, adjustable vent I'm talking about. I know how to turn them off and redirect air flow). Perhaps there is a a crew controlled adjustment that had been neglected during this flight. Started on the ground during boarding, continued throughout flight."

The dark haired woman gave the guy next to me headphones and when I held out my hand she just looked at me and walked away as if she'd been called away. Which she hadn't she came back and started with the row immediately behind us and the guy next to me was nice enough to give me his. Also after nearly waiting 4 hours, 9 minutes before boarding we were given food vouchers and told to "run and hurry" and get food "to go" so most people didn't even bother using the vouchers because of that. I've had better flights with American Airlines, I just didn't know this one would be so poor. Definitely way below average expectations."

I didn’t like how they weren’t any devices to stream content. We could have downloaded the app to access the free movies, but it wasn’t available while we were in the air.

Unfriendly flight attendants (I don’t expect much but United typically has the most unfriendly flight attendants in the industry). Food service for economy plus was non-existent (nothing even to purchase) for a 6 hour flight. Seats were, well, what do you expect? Baggage - United even underperformed here. We paid for premier access thinking that would help have our bags come out earlier. Using United is one of the only airlines that does this. But, I guess not anymore. My priority tagged bag was one of the last ones to roll down onto the carousel. Luckily for United, they still have more or less a monopoly out of San Francisco.

Cons: "I was traveling with two kids and they used my phone for shows and I brought another older Oppo phone for the myself. It just wouldn't work with the united app to open up the movies. Was unfortunate because I had two flights."
Cons: "When to Newark airport to check in, crew were very disorganized and very rude. Nobody was willing to help us and everybody tried to avoid people who looked like they needed help. Worst airport ever."

Pros: "I liked the fact that American Airlines (which I ended up getting transferred to) pulled through for me and were professional and accommodating."
Cons: "United overall was a complete disaster. They overbooked the flight, so it got delayed until the next day, but not before the involuntarily checked my carry-on due to no more space. When they delayed the flight I asked to get my bag back, but they assured me it would be on the American Airlines flight they transferred me to. Guess what...it wasn't. And now I'm stuck in Portland with nothing but my wallet, keyes and phone, and a small bag of toiletries given to me by American (which should have been United's responsibility). This is the FOURTH trip with United where they have screwed me over with either baggage loss or itinerary issues. NEVER using United after this trip. Next time I book, I'd rather just go with the next price up if it means not flying with them!!"
Cons: "We reserved wheelchair assistance prior to the flight. We had to wait an extended amount of time to actually get the wheelchair assistance with 5 kids 7 and under. Due to the wait we almost missed our flight, we were literally the last to board the plane. We were hoping to grab some breakfast for the kids as we had a long flight and did not have time to do so because of this delay. This is why we called ahead to reserve the wheelchair. The people checking in did not seem to care about the delay and only told us to be patient. Sad, unfortunate experience with accessibility issues."

Cons: "They left us at the gate waiting for a long time without an assigned seat. They didn't announce boarding time, we were waiting for so long and the crew saw us sitting down and didn't call us. The flight almost left us. The lady at the airport was extremely rude, I asked her her name and she refused to give it to us. The delay was absurd."

Cons: "They left us waiting for hours at the gate without assigning us a seat. When I finally made the line for the third time, the rude lady gave us a seat. Then they didn't call for by groups and we were about to be left on boarding time."

Cons: "Rushed to board earlier than scheduled time, only to sit on tarmac for extended period. Plane is decrepit, so old the airline is painting plastic parts to spruce it up. It even still has ash trays..... seriously how many decades ago was smoking banned on flights....?!?"
Pros: "Was very difficult time getting home on my schedule time. First they said they had no seating, then after calling mother explaining then had go back up she said she had seat. Worst flight I ever had with all these problems."

Cons: "The United flight out of LaFayette left late. We told them we had a connecting flight to Phoenix. They told us to "run". We ran about a half mile to the other gate for them to say we were too late. So yeah stuck overnight in Houston and not sleeping in my own bed tonight and missing work tomorrow morning. Not acceptable."

Pros: "I was upgraded to Business Class when I requested to be upgraded after a two days delay in Jordan and Germany. This was my first Business class experience and I loved the extra care and attention provided by staff. Around the clock service and they knew my name. I was well taken care of."
Cons: "Loved everything. Lufthansa knew how to turn my disappointment after the two flight delays into complete satisfaction by the upgrade to Business class. Thanks."
Pros: "The flight was on time."
Pros: "The employees were very helpful on both legs of the journey and the conneting flights were conveniently located in the same area. Pilot was good about letting us know time frame of mechanical issue repair while on tarmack."
Cons: "The seats were incredibly uncomfortable. Must be the type of plane because never really had issues on other flights. We noticed many carry on bags others brought on bosrd were oversized. On leg from Kalispell to Denver the crew were diligent in spotting larger bags and tagging them for under plane storage for the flight. From Den to SFO however not so much. This led to most bins being filled ahead of our group 4 boarding with larger than permitted carry on bags. Obviously larger! Luckily we were able to put our smaller bags (which we made sure fit to overhead storage specs ahead of time) under the seat for flight but that made an uncomfortable 2.5 hour journey. Actually over 3 hrs because there was a mechanical problem which had us sitting on the tarmack for over 30 minutes from Den to SFO. We've flown United before without much incident but this trip in particular was pretty crappy."
Pros: "I'm not a frequent flyer so I can only compare to my 2 United trips (1 last year and the most recent) but the experience was great. Thanks"

Pros: "The flights were all on time, we had no problem getting through TSA, despite the fact that the airport tonight open until 4 AM for our 530 departure from Lafayette, Louisiana . United agents were there to get us through quickly at 4:15 AM. Because we were being met in Managua at noon and moving in with families that afternoon, there was a little margin for error."
Cons: "There was nothing not to like."
Pros: "The time of departure was 5:30 AM, and I was concerned that we'd have trouble with TSA, competing with other early morning flights at a small airport whose terminal only opens at 4 AM. But the United ticket counter handled us efficiently and we were seated in the boarding area at 4:25."
Cons: "Nothing to not like. Everything went smoothly and we arrived in Nicaragua on time and the rest of our complicated plans for the day went perfectly. And that wouldn't have happened if we had run into glitches."
Cons: "Very slow boarding. The entire last boarding group had to gate check our bags, despite there being lots of room in the overhead bins when we got on. Then we had to go to baggage claim to retrieve them, rather than having them unloaded quickly and returned to us when we de-boarded. My carry-on is no longer clean; it not has big black spots on it, and came though the baggage claim partially wet from the rain. I was not happy."
