Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "The staff that handled baggage was nice. Also, I liked that we made it safe."
Cons: "My flight was supposed to leave at 3:50...I got to the airport and went through security before I found out that my flight was delayed until 7:30. The flight kept getting pushed back. I waited 8 hours before the flight took off. There no outlets anywhere...leaving customers at a disadvantage because with our delay, our electronics were all almost dead or dead. There were no food options. We were supposed to get a voucher, and I have not received it. Lastly, after waiting over 8 HOuRS, we still had to pay for snack and drink. I was ripped off and will not be flying with Frontier again."
Pros: "Finally landing!"
Cons: "It felt like the rear end was going to come off the way it swayed after take off. The commode messed up causing a stench in the back of the plane, (where I was). The ride was very bumpy and the pilot intercom was hard to understand. We got delayed taking off and landing."
Pros: "My only good then was that I had wonderful passengers around me that were conversationalists who were entertaining and helpful!!"
Cons: "Can't you learn how to communicate faca to face with people? Let us know personally why we keep getting held up for take off, why we are being left in the dark, andehy you can't schedule more accurately! It doesn't help to fly somewhere if you miss the event you went to attend! Try compensating for our inconveniences for a change!!!!"
Cons: "Loudness And over priced EVERYTHING"
Pros: "new jet. enough leg room (i'm male, 5-10). Overhead bins are normal size (can hold typical carry on), not the microscopic ones. Everything was on time."
Cons: "STL ticket counter was only staffed 2 hours before the flight -- which makes sense if they didn't have more flights, but the signs weren't big and complete enough for passengers to realize what was going on and how we would check our luggage. So we were standing around a bit confused. Once Frontier people showed up, it was fine. Also, coming back to STL, I had a 2 hr shuttle bus ride that was leaving 30 minutes after arrival, and although the plane arrived on time, the luggage didn't reach me until 37 minutes after, so I had to get a hotel room for the night. I don't know how luggage handling works, so maybe not Frontier's fault at all. 30 minutes isn't much time, but it was a direct flight, so I thought it would work."
Pros: "Very nice flight and crew. The gave me priority seat and boarding because I'm military as well as 2 free carryons."
Cons: "Only thing to make it better would've been wifi"
Pros: "Friendly on time service"
Cons: "Baggage fees"
Pros: "We landed safely"
Cons: "The flight crew was atrocious. They were rude when they spoke to us and when I asked for refreshments they turned around as if to get them for me and then the lady sitting next to my husband had to get their attention again to ask a second time if I could have water and Chex Mix so I could take my medicine. I have serious health conditions and I couldn't even get water without paying $3 a bottle. It is disgusting to me that we are charged for flight and then charged for Refreshments during that flight. Any other Airline who charges for a seat to take you to your destination includes at least drinks and nuts for free but not you."
Pros: "I got where I was going to."
Cons: "One zone isn't even through the door and the next zone is called and all we do is stand in the very hot jetway for nearly 15 minutes. Being charged to pick our seat and for our luggage is ridiculous. It should be included in the price, if you have to raise the price then at least people would know better the true cost of their travel. Being charged for a drink! Having $1.99 put on a credit card! Wrong."
Cons: "You charge extra for everything."
Pros: "Was prepared for bad things to happen but flight staff was professional and things went great."
Cons: "Long line at airport for checking in. Paying for a seat and 1 carry on making ticket was rather pricey"
Pros: "Flight was on time. Crew was very professional."
Cons: "Charge for seats, stowed baggage and food/drinks negated competitive air fare cost of other carriers. Will not use Frontier again! Wheel chair attendant and wheel chair were not available in Orlando when we arrived."
Cons: "EVERTYHING is an added on cost, no frills, cramped,"
Pros: "Seats do not recline and r like sitting on park bench."
Pros: "Flight was smooth and on time"
Cons: "The flight attendant could have been more attentive and pleasant"
Pros: "The Flight was on time and the staff was nice"
Cons: "I seats seem to be smaller in size so the comfort was not as good. You have to pay for everything on the plane. This was my 1st time taking frontier so I was sure we would get complimentary snacks but that was not the case. There was no WIFI and no option to purchase it either. Overall, the Frontier was Okay."
Pros: "The captain and stewardess were very nice and accommodating."
Cons: "The plane was very very dirty. It hadn't been cleaned in quite a while."
Pros: "Rigid, modestly padded seatbacks (think DC-3) do not recline at all. Found it difficult to doze."
Pros: "The new seats are very comfortable."
Pros: "Price and non stop- left and arrived on time"
Cons: "seating on the Airbus plane is very uncomfortable"
Pros: "I fly Frontier from time to time. Their posted fares are exceptionally low but they nickel and dime you to death...actually it's more like $10's and $20's. I flew round trip from Ft Myers to St Louis for $125 plus one checked bag at another $35. Not for everybody, but if it works for you, they're a good way to get from A to B."
Cons: "Seats don't recline Charge extra for everything but the air you breathe and would charge for that if they could figure out how."
Cons: "New streamlined seats were very uncomfortable for a 2.5 hour flight, not much cushioning."
Pros: "The crew was kind and helpful. We got a very good price on our tickets."
Cons: "The seats were not very comfortable, and they did not recline. The tray tables were super miniature. The lady next to me knocked her cup of ice off of the tray twice because it was so small. Two of the three reading lights did not work in my row, and we had had the same problem on the first leg of our flight too."
Pros: "Friendly staff, large plane, cheap fare. I researched all the potential additional fees before my flight. Do your homework. It was a cheap, direct flight at a good time. I chose not to have a carry on, and I packed snacks for myself."
Cons: "No food."
Cons: "Seats were extremely uncomfortable. Tiny tray tables."
Pros: "We love flying Southwest and the freedom of it has become our gold standard. HATED: Baggage fees Narrow seats Charges for CARRYONS...REALLY??? And the deal-breaker for us... That will be $1.99 for your (mediocre) cup of coffee, please. Oh, yes...and the flexibility of Southwests no cancellation penalty... PRICELESS! Thanks for asking."
Cons: "The seats were not very comfortable. You have to pay for carry-on and checked luggage. Then you have to pay for water. Might as well have use a different airline and payed a little more. The price of water and luggage would make up the difference."
Pros: "The price was good. Boarding was relatively painless and quick. The plane appeared to be new and was pretty clean. We were on time and even a little early."
Cons: "The woman behind the counter in St Louis was not friendly. I prefer to be able to use my TSA pre check status rather than wait in a security line for 30 minutes but for whatever reason Frontier does not offer that luxury."
Pros: "Your baggage policy is ridiculous and i might add a regressive fee inherently unfair. A single mother of 6 traveling to her mothers funeral will be hit harder by this than a business traveler. Many of us on the lower end of the income scale carry on to save what can be used on groceries pr heat. Yoir counter staff are also peremptory and rude. I will now factor these additional costs into your supposed fares you sjow online. Likely i will find other airlines are actually better deals. do you really think uoir cusyomers ste thos stupid? We know ur showing low fares and making it up w fees!"
Cons: "Delayed departure from 7AM to announced "possible" 12:30PM. Delay reportedly caused by "flight crew having timed-out" leaving our plane without a crew in Las Vegas. This very long delay made my trip unfeasible, forcing me to cancel my trip entirely, and my wife, having to shorten her stay in Florida by three days."
Cons: "seat fee; carry-on bag fee. When I buy tickets, I should have the right to know what my full cost will be, Sorry, I Am not an experienced flyer, but all the unknown add-on charges will make me loo a lot closer at ticket pricing on my next trip."
Cons: "The service was very poor. From the airport Frontier employees to the the flight attendants. There is an additional fee and charge for everything. My flight was delayed for 2 1/2 hours and upon boarding we still sat in the aircraft for an additional 45 min -1 hour wait! NEVER AGAIN."
Cons: "Cash not accepted for on flight beverages"
Pros: "Boarding and arrival were right on time."
Cons: "No complementary drink or snack on the flight. Baggage fees were much higher than industry average."
Cons: "Don't be fooled! Their flights seem cheap, until you take the flight and they charge you for every little thing- checked bags ($25 each), carry on bag($$35!!), seat ($16, and no, there are NO FREE seats. They even charge you for a soda on the flight- no complimentary soda/juice). By the time it was all said and done, it would have been cheaper to take almost any other airline."
Cons: "Flight was cancelled due to mechanical reasons and no alternative was provided."
Pros: "The seats were clean."
Cons: "The ticket counter did not open until 1 hour before my flight was supposed to board. Although I knew my flight was delayed, the agent at the counter said nothing. Additionally they charge for everything, from your bag to water on the flight. The price is cheap, but not worth the hustle or inconvenience."
Pros: "Boarding was quick"
Cons: "Messed up name on ticket had to call to have changed (would have been charged online to do so) Only saw flight attendant once This airline really nickel&dimes you. Tickets cheap but you pay for absolutely anything you may need. If you travel with absolutely nothing than this airline may be good for you. This is my second time with frontier had poor to okay experiences both times, will avoid this airline in the future."
Pros: "it was a direct flight. It was the only carrier with a direct flight. The plane arrived with no difficulty."
Cons: "The Frontier website was misleading. On check in it asked to pick a seat assignment, which were charged additional money for. I tried to undo the seat assignment (after I went and read their policy that it was optional.) So the website is fixed, that it can not be changed. So I called Frontier and after a 45 minute hold time was told options (seat assignment) can not be changed and I had to pay for it. This added $24 each way for a total of $48 additional charge. Also only a small carry on allowed. so that added an additional charge of $30. The seats don't recline even a little bit. as it was an Airbus and not a Boeing plane. not as comfortable as Boeing. Less padding in seat also."
Cons: "poor accommodations of the disabled rude staff No ADA accessibility over priced "a-la-carte" style of upcharging"
Pros: "Very disappointing - $45 to carry on a bag or $40 to check? Wish I would've paid the extra $100 to fly SW, Delta, United, ETC. The trays were 1/4 size of an iPad. You have to pay for a soda, water, or any beverage. The seats were small, uncomfortable, and didn't recline."
Pros: "Seating was comfortable and ticketing crew were very friendly!"
Cons: "Check-in process is cumbersome! No online boarding pass, the fact that you have to pay for Carry-on and pretty much any seat that you pick, brings the cost the on-par with others! Don't think I will fly frontier again."
Cons: "No snacks, not comfortable at all, overpriced, yhere wasn't a significant amount of savings because I paid to carry on my bag, no snacks and not comfortable!"
Pros: "There was a lot of things that i didn't like but the crew made me forget about all the bad things. Amazing crew and funny just maid everyone smile and laugh. Without this crew i think i would have hatted my flight but they made it worth it."
Pros: "Airport staff were nice, friendly and very apologetic."
Cons: "The flight was delayed 3 hours yet we were encouraged to arrive at our original time just in case the flight was moved up, which it wasn't, so it made for 5 long hours in the airport. Once on the plane the stewardess were less than friendly, at one point shhh'ing people."
Pros: "The best part is the direct flights to where I am going at decent prices. However, it comes at a cost."
Cons: "Wow. Each trip I take, they seem to have sat in a meeting and asked themselves, how can I make the passengers more uncomfortable. Charge for baggage? Check. Charge for a dedicated seat to ensure you aren't stuck in the middle? Check. Remove the recline feature from all seats? Check. The thing that really killed me though was their "new and improved" seat trays. Instead of the already too small tray on other airlines, they have cut the tray literally in half. All it could possibly hold is a drink. No laptop, no book...Really, were the savings that great over the life of the plane that this was a good buy? The only plus is you have a reason why you weren't able to get any work done on a plane..."
Pros: "This was the only direct flight I found to Cancun which is a big plus. The price appeared cheap and I had recently flown on Frontier on a package trip booked through Funjet Vacations so was aware that seats are small, not well padded, do not recline at all and have the world's smallest tray for your beverages."
Cons: "When I checked in I discovered that we would have to pay $30-35 for checked or carry on bags each way! Only if you are booked through Apple or Fun Jet are you allowed one free checked bag so beware! This increased the cost by at least $60 per person if you can keep it down to just one bag per person. Also, there are not any complimentary drinks, you will be charged for everything. Lastly, my TS-pre check status doesn't matter since Frontier does not participate."
Cons: "Lost my bag. Tiny tray tables. Seats did not recline"
