Cons: "Departure was delayed 45 minutes due to Delta plane delay while in gate shared with Spirit. After making up the delay in air, our plane had to sit on the ground at our destination and wait for another Delta plane to leave our arrival gate. Another 45 minute delay. Paying for water was a bit aggravating. Since you have ice available, can't you have a pitcher of water available so I wouldn't need to buy a bottle?"

Cons: "Baggage fees for a carry on were ridiculous. $57 for a regular carry on to store in the overhead bin. With gas prices falling to record lows, why do airlines still charge these additional fees? Oh, I guess we're used to paying them, so let's not stop now. For my carry on to fly with me, it cost about 20% of the total fare. The percentage of total fare price would be much higher, but my particular flight was $259. If I had flown into Ft Lauderdale instead of Ft Myers, the fare would have been $103, making the baggage fee over 50% of the total cost...this should be looked into."
Cons: "Spirit canceled the flight 24 hours before we were supposed to leave. Had to book a different flight from a different airline at premium prices"
Cons: "I specifically bought a suitcase that met Spirit's personal bag requirements. In fact, it was a little under the airline's 18/14/8 dimensions. My bag is 17/13/7 and I did not have to pay for a carry-on in Fort Myers. However, after bringing the SAME suitcase with the same amount of stuff in it to Baltimore, I had to pay $65 at the gate on my return flight back to Florida. I would have gladly paid $40 online for a carry-on if my suitcase was over the personal bag requirements; however, I followed the requirements and it was not. I bought a bag based on the airline's stated dimensions. Clearly, there is no way for me to tell whether or not it fits in their sizer box before I arrive at the airport. Online it says the dimensions include wheels and handles, but it did not say the personal bag had to fit into the sizer box upright. No where on Spirit's site does it say a personal item is not considered a suitcase either. Had I been able to put my suitcase in on its side, it would have fit without a problem. This airline is misleading their customers, and, frankly, what happened to me is bullshit. Baltimore also took 10-15 minutes to search my bag and never offered me an explanation. At all. I thought that was very and uncalled for. The ticket agent at the Spirit boarding counter in Fort Myers was also incredibly rude. The woman did not appear to be in a good mood and it was clear she did not want to be there. However, I do not think she should have taken it out on the airline's customers. In short, I will never fly with Spirit again."

Cons: "There were three delays to the flight. No explanation was given as to why. Flight was supposed to leave at 7:59 PM, we didn't take off until after 10:45. Their seats are very uncomfortable and they don't even have blankets."
Pros: "$50 to check a bag is a bit much !!!! Tried to check it online but it was Impossible so I had to check it at the airport! AND the flight was delayed 45 minutes and signs were reading "On Time". Big disappointment !!"

Customer service agents were rude and only option was a flight home the next day. Never flying Spirit again."

Cons: "I was getting kick from the seat behind me. Also my flight had been cancelled and I got rebooked for 4 days later. It should have been as soon as possible."
Cons: "Flight was to leave at 4:52 delayed to 6:35 that was no problem I still showed up early in case the flight left as scheduled. At 1:30 I went to check in prepaid bag and the women put on tag and he told her could only check-in a bag 4 hrs before a flight. You can debate I was 4 hours before the original flight. I waited in the lobby for an hour and went bag at 2:35 mentioned what happen and the guy told the women helping me after giving me a dirty look he would do me a favor and let me check-in. Then I went thru security to the gate. Just don't get it and why it's my fault. Thought was totally unnecessary guess he had a bad day. Lol. Ok I vented."
Pros: "Friendly, competent flight attendants. Once we were on the plane they announced that the co-pilot was on his way and we would leave as soon as he arrived. I like knowing why things happen."
Cons: "Like many airlines, Spirit charges for everything beyond the very basic flight. $50 to check my bag or carry it on is ridiculous and feels dishonest. I doubt if I will fly on Spirit again if this policy continues. On the earlier flight to BWI my bag did not arrive. Nor did it arrive until day three in the morning. The staff handled the process well but it far exceeded their 24 hour time frame."

Cons: "No effort to get me on flight which I suspect was delayed. $5.00 credit with Spirit not applied to new flight as promised. 2 hrs. 34 mins on a stopped plane no fun. A few minutes more and, by law, we would have been de-planed. Nobody likes long hours on a stopped plane. Flight attendant Cindy is a problem waiting to happen. She seemed to have an authority issue. She instructed us to remain on carpet and out of galley-flight attendant area she said. I did that and she still asked me and another passenger to move. "Standing near my doorway scares me" she said. I also heard her reprimand mothers with children very un-professionally. Not very nice table manners."
Pros: "The flight was fine, attendants were excellent. Very efficient boarding. I wasted much of the day before and day of the flight trying to print a boarding pass. Difficult to get to site and then they wouldn't accept my password and then didn't send the password I needed to change it. It was extremely frustrating. When I checked in at the kios I was warned that if my bag didn't fit in the bin I would be charged $100 at the gate. I was a1/2 inch too wide so I paid the $55 and found that people were boarding with big backpacks and not paying. My bag fit easily under the seat. Can this money be redeemed?"
Cons: "First they didn't live up to their baggage carried on the plane. Consequently,loading the plane was slow and confining due to so much carryons. Second,gates 37&38 have a SMALL TSA checkpoint causing line confusions between entry to TSA and ticketing. Last the seating area cannot hold the passengers put in there, not enough seats,not enough toilets,no public water fountain, All these have me considering a complaint to the fire marshal and the health dept. The area is a hazard Pack your planes BUT not public areas"

Cons: "We should have left at 8:38 Than leaving at 11:42 than boarded and rushed on at 11:06 so they do not get a fine for being over 2.5 hours late and we sat on the plane until 11:42 when we were set to leave. Seats were much smaller than any other airline I have been on. I will fly Delta or anyone else."
Pros: "Obviously loved the price but think the price for a carry on should be either free or adjusted downward from $30. Legroom was definitely tight"
Cons: "We were flying out of Latrobe airport which is the size of a smaller house with 2 gates. We arrived 40 minutes before boarding and was told that we could not check in. We were not allowed on the flight and had to pay for another flight that left the next day. We will never fly with spirit airlines again."
Pros: "I loved the flight crew. They were funny, upbeat, engaged...not the usual Spirit flight crew!"
Cons: "The new chairs are horrendous. Like plastic seats with a vinyl cover and minimal padding. With limited legroom, normal on Spirit, the uncomfortable seats are just miserable. It would've been nice if they kept the headrest 'wings', but it's all about using economy as an excuse. The accompanying tray tables won't hold an iPad mini or similar tablet they're so small. The funny thing is I flew another airline for the first leg of this trip, for less money, with better seats, complimentary beverage and pretzels."

Cons: "They would not let us on the plane despite being there 25 min before the flight left. They said we had to check-in online, which we tried twice to do, but it wouldn't let me because a balance for our baggage and seats did not go through. Interestingly, when I entered the credit card info it never once told me the credit card was invalid or that any issue had occurred. When I called the number it gave when it wouldn't let me check in I got an automated system that had no option for "speak to a representative" or "check-in." The ticketing counter told me they literally can't print a ticket after 45 min until flight and Latrobe's single gate TSA checkpoint "closed" at 6:30 for this 7 flight. Meanwhile, I watched "security" walk behind the counter when we got there. Spirit refused to refun is the money for the flight. We will never fly Spirit or out of Latrobe PA EVER AGAIN."
Pros: "Excessive turbulence the whole way. Crew was not very friendly. $3 for a can of soda- are you out of your mind? And so little leg room, I could barley even get my laptop open. I guess you get what you pay for."

Cons: "Since this was my first experience with Spirit, I was surprised that everything added to the initial cost. So what seems to be a great deal turns out to be only moderately good. I also didn't like the fact that a bag on the first trip would have been fifty five dollars but on the return trip one hundred dollars. It seems like it would be hard to judge what you final cost would be."
Cons: "Uncomfortable seats, pilots speakers volume was so loud that it hurt my ears, rude stewardess, don't even have free water??! I don't think they earn the right to have horrible customer service just because they are trying to save money on ticket prices"

Cons: "Wait time to board flight. Understandable for flight delays due to weather or mechanical problems ( to be taken care of in a timely manner). Not only did both of these issues play into flight departure, but also a 2 hr. delay waiting for a pilot. Pilot arrives we are all anxious to board plane. Seated and ready to go and pilot announces another slight delay, now waiting for a co-pilot. One hour later, still strapped in and ready for take off, the co-pilot boards plane. Needless to say, approx. 3 hours after scheduled departure we are finally in the air. Arriving at 2:30 am made it tough for pick-up arrangements."
Cons: "I was seated next to 2 people who were clearly very ill as they were wearing masks covering their nose and mouth and exhibited numerous symptoms. I asked to be reseated but there were no other seats. Within 12 hours I came down with a terrible stomach flu and have been vomiting and diarhea nonstop for the last 12 hours. I have never been this sick in my life. The airlines should do a better job protecting people from other sick people in such proximity. I have an important job interview Monday which I will undoubtedly miss as a result and have never felt this bad"
Cons: "I had to check in and pay for my personal baggage going, and coming back I did not have to pay for it as it should had been in the first place. It was a small rolling tote around bag with my personal items."
Pros: "You can't find a better bargain than this airline. Yea that don't offer the in-flight amenities like peanuts and pop (free) but who cares."
Cons: "The only flights that were delayed out of Cleveland were Sprit flights. We were 1.5 hours late and I didn't receive an email notification. Just before we left home we got an email from Kayak that said the flight was on time."
Pros: "Flights were punctual and got me to my destinations early. Crew was kind and entertaining."
Cons: "No TV or movies, but it was a 3 HR flight so I didn't expect this. Chairs didn't recline, but I never recline anyway."
Cons: "Spirit refuses to participate in TSA Pre-Check; as a result, I will avoid Spirit flights in the future"
Pros: "Good crew, they were jovial and made the best of a less than great situation and made light of the little space and charging for everything. When they were not able to serve because of the turbulence they instructed passengers to hit the call button and they would try to serve them individually, of course for a fee."
Cons: "Absolutely no room. I felt like a veal calf! I am a small woman but cannot imagine a full grown, tall man sitting in those seats. Passengers all remarked about the little space. Very turbulent flight, not their fault, weather issues. Had to purchase everything even water, more leg room, carry on bags, etc. Good price if you are small, do not need luggage and remember to bring your own food and water."
