Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "The service"
Cons: "Nothing so far, thanks."
Cons: "Very long delay not fair to passengers"
Pros: "on time"
Pros: "I watched incendies and lion and both were great films so I commend your film options. The crew were all pleasant and the flight itself was good."
Cons: "The chairs have no low back support. I rolled up my sweater and put it behind my low back because the chair is so poorly designed. It seems to encourage a slouched position. maybe you have it that was to encourage people to upgrade their tickets. I hope that's not the case as that would be cruel."
Cons: "Flight late (30 minutes) as mostly with Air Canada, fortunately not cancelled this time as also common with Air Canada short distance flights Not enough space in overhead compartments for carry on. The lady at the boarding makes it sound like that is the passengers fault."
Cons: "The temperature, it was cold and asked an agent to turn up the heat atleast and got ignored. The seats were extemely uncomfortable"
Pros: "Buying wine was a good idea. It's a good cure for frustrations."
Cons: "I had trouble checking in online AND printing boarding pass at kiosk. Plane left 45 minutes late. Boarding was chaotic. Headphones did not work with entertainment system. Drink order was incorrect... I just had to pretend I was on crappy public transport for two hours for a one hour journey. I laughed out loud when they announced on flight that Air Canada was voted best North American airline. Riiiiight."
Cons: "That there was no meal included. Only ordering extra through the cafe catalog"
Pros: "Video screen in seat back so I could watch movies"
Cons: "I forced to check my carry on bag despite the fact that there was room in overhead compartments. Consequently my bag was damaged when loaded onto plane, or when unloaded onto baggage carousel. Disorganized loading of passengers onto plane."
Cons: "Poor snack options"
Pros: "A few turbulents just before landing but great flight crew."
Cons: "I didn't like the fact that I paid 14$ for wifi and it kept kicking me off all the time. Also when we landed in Edmonton we circled their airport for half an hour then finally landed and we were stuck on the Tarmac for additional 45 min while we waited to get towed to our terminal. All in all terrible first time flying with air Canada and will never do it again. West jet flight I took to my destitnation was awesome"
Cons: "Constant gate changes. Getting a seat number assigned was tedious"
Pros: "I arrived safely with my children"
Cons: "No snacks"
Pros: "There was a hour delay but once on board the crew and flight was excellent."
Pros: "Decent movie selection on one of my flights"
Cons: "I had booked my Air Canada trip and had a single stop-over while I switched to a different plane. Both of these planes were Air Canada. I Even though I made it through Customs in the shortest time possible, and back through security, I still managed to narrowly make my second flight. They were final-calling my name and actually taking off earlier than expected. Had I been 2 more minutes late, my flight would probably have taken off. I didn't check any bags either, so had I checked one, I don't think I would have made my second flight."
Cons: "The post office lost my passport and I was unable to go on this flight. Customer service was unwilling to provide a solution that did not cost thousands of dollars to rebook and see my family for Christmas."
Cons: "Late leaving. Plane packed full. Cramped seating, overhead bins full. Carry on baggage seems unregulated. Air Canada does little to make flying pleasant. Cramped seating getting worse and worse. If you are tall, be prepared to suffer."
Cons: "I found the crew members more involved in there own personal conversations rather than the guests.... Trying to get there attention was virtually impossible...."
Cons: "Too hot and cramped"
Cons: "Plane way too cold, seat would not recline"
Pros: "The service was fantastic flying over night is never fun but the staff made the plane very comfortable"
Cons: "The plane was very cold"
Pros: "Food was actually pretty decent tasting and priced."
Cons: "One of the female flight attendants was quite mean and just had a poor attitude. Glares, muttering under her breath at passengers etc. Overhead storage is just a nightmare! Always filled to the brim. I've heard flight attendants bashing passengers about it openly. Maybe if you didn't charge $25 per bag per leg people wouldn't do this. Something reasonable like 5-10$ would help this problem HUGE."
Cons: "So uncomfortable"
Pros: "Onboard service staff were very good."
Cons: "Flight was one and a half hours late leaving."
Pros: "Crew was friendly and courteous."
Cons: "Flight delayed as usual (for Air Canada)"
Pros: "Leg room on a wide bodied airplane and movie equipment working well. Stewards were by more than once offering food or refreshment."
Pros: "Good on flight entertainment. On this flight we had a good crew and good staff. However it has been mixed in the past with air canada"
Cons: "No food or snack. Only drinks or food for purchase."
Pros: "Tv screens were bigger and alot more newer than west jets."
Cons: "I always flew with west jet and herd people say good things about air canada. So I decided to try them out. I had a 4 hour flight and I did not like the seats.. they were not comfortable at all.. the padding felt very thin and could feel the plastic she'll of the seat.. it wasn't just that plane.. i had a return flight with 1 lay over. I would go back to flying west jet. They had the same size planes and way more comfortable seats."
Cons: "They should have checked the plane before boarding. When the plane was ready to take off they discovered an issue with the lavatory. we had to sit in the plane for more than an hour to get this fixed."
Cons: "Six hours stuck at an airport with no where to get decent food and ended up sleeping on the floor. There should not be a stop to flights at night time."
Pros: "Staff was courteous and friendly. Check-in was quick and painless, despite the mobile boarding pass not working properly."
Cons: "Did not ear food or use the in-flight entertainment. Seats are TINY! As a person with very broad shoulders, I found myself literally wedged into a corner as to not bump the person next to me. These planes should not be 3 seater when they are designed for two."
Pros: "On time/boarding by zone prevents unnecessary gathering at the boarding area."
Cons: "Air Canada Boarding agent was rude when I inquired about taking an earlier flight. Her reply was, "The boarding for this earlier flight has now closed- even if I were able to get you on, you would be paying a change fee". I'm tired of the attitude of many of the Air Canada boarding agents."
Pros: "Staff was at least friendly"
Cons: "For a 5+ hour flight only beverages were offered - anything else (such as a snack or small meal) had to be purchased. Very cheap service IMO. The selection of entertainment (movies/tv shows) was exceptionally limited and out of date. Their way of boarding the plane (via zone) is very backwards as families with children weren't asked to board until half way through the plane loading (unless those families had already paid for the more expensive zone upgrades). Most airlines let them load first to give them extra time. My checked bag was 1.2kg over the limit so I had to open the bag and switch 1.2kg of clothing into my carry on in front of the rest of those checking in. What an embarrassment and such foolery. All in all Westjet does a better job for trips across Canada. Will not be trying Air Canada again."
Pros: "Seat was broken, you can not recline seat. Flight was full, I was told so you have to sit on same seat. Secondly, there was one kid who keep crying yelling like hell, big time headache. It was about 6 early morning flight came at airport by 3:00am thought will sleep on air. On boarding, only drinks was offered, not even cookies or snacks there."
Cons: "Broken Seat No cookies or nuts, only drinks For kids or infants- airline should give them last seats or offers Air buds."
Cons: "No cookies or pretzels."
Cons: "Flight attendant was awful My seat assignment was the same seat designated to crew and my flight attendant treated badly inspite of the error"
Pros: "Crew members were very helpful and friendly."
Cons: "We were delayed another hour on the tarmac for refuelling. Seems like they should have delayed boarding."
Cons: "Air Canada has the worst customer service. Hate flying with them"
Pros: "The crew was good"
Cons: "The flight was delayed several times, and then they lost my baggage, when I landed in Chicago, no bag. A person from United Airlines called me at 7:00 AM the next morning and said that they had my bag. He directed it to GRB that day. Thanks to him I got my bag back!"
Cons: "They lost my bag which was full of important clothing I needed for interviews this week."
Pros: "Liked the smile in the faces of the crew as they served the snacks"
Cons: "The flight was delayed for more than an hour"
Cons: "My biggest complaint regarding air Canada is the poor service and indifference typically exhibited by their service staff."
Cons: "It wascancelled and rebooked for next day. Then the person whi gave me the ticket told me no hotel booked other one told me just take a blanket and sleep in the airport!!!!!! Is that a joke!!!!"
Pros: "Linda the Air Canada check in Agent at the Priority desk in Calgary was the best Check in Agent I have ever dealt with in over 20 years of business travel. I was with my family and she even made a special effort with my two Granddaughters that they are still talking about today. She is the reason Air Canada still has ALL of my business every year"
Cons: "Air Canada as well as WestJet charge exuberant amounts for local flights. They offer services and leg room of a budget airline while charging prices at the top range of a regular airline. Lack of proper competition in Canada allows Air Canada and WestJet to charge whatever they want since there are no other real options"
Cons: "Fast boarding"
Pros: "Everyone was very friendly. I liked the spaciousness of the seats. I did not feel like I was sitting on the person beside me we were both comfortable"
Cons: "Constant back and forth of the carts. The smell of the food while the cart is parked beside you is rough to if you are not feeling well. Felt like too much selling going on. I don't' need to be asked so many times about food and drink."
Pros: "The comfort of a Dash 8 was surprising. The seats have a suitable amount of leg room which I'm actually scared to mention so they don't add an extra seat to each row to take it away. Not too much, not too small, just right for a 6 foot man to not have his knees pressed against the seat in front for the whole ride. Small plane size did allow for quick retrieval of bags at final destination."
Cons: "Where to start? Dash 8's shake, rattle and roll for the whole trip. Felt like we could fall out of the sky at any time. Staff don't care. Split our group after rescheduling due to aircraft issues despite seats available on both connectors. Said to wait until next stop to fix. Next stop said nothing they can do since we checked a bag. Put 2 hours between arrivals just because they can. Blamed it on the computer."
