EVER!!! VERY DISAPPOINTED! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Cons: "I found the seats on this Virgin Atlantic A340 flight from LHR (London Heathrow) to LAX (Los Angeles), an eleven hour flight, to be unacceptable. The seats were very crowded. I am six feet tall, and was very uncomfortable all during the flight. I could not sit with my knees together. I had to spread my knees to sit comfortably. Holding that position for eleven hours was very uncomfortable. Anyone taller than me would have even more trouble. Also, every seat has a very large box underneath, I presume for the audio/video system. This is a terrible location. There is very little room to stow anything. But much worse, I couldn't straighten my right leg. All-in-all, I found the seat situation totally unacceptable. I will likely never fly Virgin Atlantic again because of this."

Maybe some steamed red potatoes and a piece of steak. An organic green apple for dessert. Forget the gluten, dairy, sugar or sauces that ruin a perfectly good ham or chicken and lettuce, tomato wrap! The meals were mediocre and the cabin staff were just barely the good side of unhelpful, officious and unfriendly The flight was inexplicably 2 hours or more late in excellent weather. No apologies given, the flight that was originally scheduled for 8 pm left close to 11 pm. While boarding the only light is a purplish ambient lighting that made it impossible to read anything, including the safety material, until the inflight entertainment was loaded up (the lights are only controlled through software-actuated virtual buttons on the screen). The inflight entertainment system is hard to use, too, designed by idiots for use by geniuses. But the very worst thing was the stress caused by Virgin Atlantic in just about guaranteeing that we would miss this flight. On our outbound voyage in January, VA, for reasons nobody knows, booked an ADDITIONAL leg from JHB to CPT on BA at 12:30 pm, even though we were already ON the earlier 9:30 BA flight we'd booked and paid for. Then, when we didn't show up for this spurious flight (because we were already in the air) we didn't book (BA swears they have evidence that VA made this booking), our return flight CPT to JBG three months later was cancelled WITHOUT OUR KNOWLEDGE. If I hadn't been interested in knowing, the day before the flight, if the return BA flight had a meal, I would have showed up at the CPT airport in April and discovered that I had no way to get to the VA flight in JHB! As it was I spent an entire day trying to get back on the flight I'd already paid for. I advise EVERYONE who uses VA to reconfirm flights over and over. There is still no explanation for this. I will never NEVER fly VA again. They are not to be trusted."

The women was really nice and if it was not for her I am sure I would not have made my connection. I don't know if there is anyway to track her down and thank her but I would like to do so. The flight attendants were OK but not excessively helpful."

Not only didnt we have individual screens, but they played the same movie back-to-back."

One of the flight attendants helped me carry our things on, because it's tough to carry my son in his safety seat and our bags through the narrow aisles without beating up everyone in the aisle seats as we go through! She also checked on us multiple times to see if there was anything else she could help us with."

Your attendant then tried to put me on standby all day the following day with a guaranteed flight at 8pm. I then asked him to check other airlines and was able to get an 8am one. During the flight, the staff made sure that economy felt the economy - no smiles, no please or thank you - deffinitely not paying first class with that kind of staff aboard. On top of that, my luggage arrived 12hrs later on another flight and I was not even offered a chocolate bar... I can see why the tickets were the cheapest ones, I just didn't expect it to get as far as not delivering the luggage with the passenger."

The other crew man was older and made me very uncomfortable. He was yelling at people constantly and made it very clear that he hates his job. This was the coldest flight I've even been on. Literally everyone was wrapped in their blankets and it still wasn't enough. The staff was told several times but refused to do anything. The guy in front of me had his seat row 39 middle left fully reclined back for the whole flight. Not once did anyone tell him to put it up during takeoff and meal times. He kept rocking the seat and spilled my drink in my lap."

Cons: "1) The staff at the gate were mechanical and had an air of snootiness...non-genuine behaviour. 2) Cabin staff were not attentive and also very abrupt and short when approached for anything, despite the flight being at 30% capacity. 3) My arm was bandaged from my fingertips to my shoulder but when I asked staff to assist me with my hand luggage they refused 4) Food quantitiy was EXTREMELY low and the quality was appalling....there was less food given than in a MacDonalds Happy Meal."
