Cons: "At the check-in gate there was pandemonium. It was not clear how to proceed. The lines were long and disorderly. Since I had passed through passport control, I didn't think I would need to go through again just before boarding. I was in line, ready to have my boarding pass scanned when I was told I needed to have my passport checked! I had to step out of line, go back and get my passport checked, then go back in line to board! I could not get an assigned seat until I got to Zurich. I needed an aisle seat (I had a bladder infection and would need to use the toilet often). It was left up to me to negotiate with my neighbor to switch seats--- the crew would not help at all. I was cramped in my seat. The man in front of me put his chair too far back; I was difficult to work on my laptop with so little room between me and the table. The snack was horrible---uncooked, tasteless calzone and ice cream."

It was obvious that we could not fly in the storm, but we were not informed about the likely departure time. The reason I gave a poor ranking is that my suitcase/pack must have been left out in the downpour on the top of the pile so all of my clothes were extremely wet when I reached Boston. The bag itself was wet so it was not a case of something leaking in the bag. I have had to wash all of the clothes and iron them."

Which was probably because their SWISS flight was late. Why are all SWISS flights running late??? There was no coffee or tea on the flight because there was a problem with the electrical system of the hot water machines. That could have been fixed before we left.... The entertainment system is clunky, and it didn't help that it had to be rebooted (took 20 minutes !?!?) in the middle of the flight to deal with some 'isssues'. The big boxes with the entertainment system underneath the seats are not fun either, they really cut into legroom. In general, it seems this plane is in need of a bit of an overhaul and maintenance. And whatever happened to Swiss punctuality? I'm not used to SWISS flights being late. You can do much better than that, you used to!"

And the seats are incredibly narrow. When the person in front of me had their seat reclining I had even less room. Horrible. The only reason the flight from Zurich to Boston wasn't quite as bad was because I was able to get the seat by the exit aisle with extra legroom. The food was terrible. It didn't taste like real food. It looked and tasted totally artificial. Overall, a very poor experience."

Cons: "Several flights to US were leaving from the gates in the same wing of the terminal. A separate US passport control hurdle was set up there as an additional step prior to the boarding. The lines were long and barely moved when I joined about 40 min before my departure time. The security guy who handled the lines refused to let me through without waiting in the line. I was pretty stressed that I won't make it in time. Eventually it was all fine, people were picked up from the line by crew members of the flights that were about to leave. And when I eventually got throught, the flight did wait for about 15-20 min for the connecting passengers that were late. Having a clear communication at that US passport control line near the gate would make my flight connection and boarding process much less stressful."

Cons: "I understand that an airline can’t control the weather, but they can be prepared for it. We arrived hours late and found chaos. Conflicting information from staff. Lines lasting HOURS, verging on mob behavior, some passengers shouting and crying. One very good agent got us into civilized lines, but it was still awful. Later that night, we found our second flight HAD taken off, despite every single airline and airport staffer insisting that all flights were cancelled. We could have been home for New Year’s Eve instead of stuck in an airport. The next day, we still got mixed signals about how to check in. Then we found we had been given seats rows apart, despite being one booking. To be honest, we haven’t even taken this flight yet. Our rebooked flight on the following day is hours late and we’re waiting for it now. But I already know enough to post that I will never fly Turkish Airlines again."

It’s like ANA run by native New Yorkers - newish planes, really good food (including chefs running around in white uniforms with the tall hats!), solid in-flight entertainment, and no nickel-and-diming on drinks, but the staff can be cold. I would definitely fly again, especially if the alternatives are United or American."
Cons: "Turkish Airlines' hub airport, Ataturk International in Istanbul, is a chaotic, surly mess. Part of this relates to the fact that it is simply too small for the volume of traffic it handles, but I also believe airport management deserves some blame. Problems include: * Most arriving Turkish Airlines flights empty out on the tarmac, and then you are bussed to the terminal, adding at least 20 minutes to the process. Some departing flights to North America also require bussing from a distant gate. * Rescreening is inconsistent - once it was some guy standing by a door giving a cursory glance to passports of transfer passengers. Another time, hundreds of people going through a full laptops-out-of-bags-take-off-your-belts xray procedure. * Signage is terrible. Arrows pointing where to go are insufficient (such as exiting the international terminal from the transfer area) and most gates do not automatically show the next flight scheduled to depart. * Gates are shown on the main displays only 2 hours in advance max, and even then seem to change — I saw several people miss their flights for this reason. * Not enough toilets in the terminal and lounges. * Airport staff and concessions workers are surly. I would like to stress that Turkish Airlines (the dominant carrier at Ataturk) is actually pretty good when it comes to the flights themselves. But the airport experience really brings down the brand, in my opinion. My advice to those who have a long layover: Spend $25-$40 dollars to hang out in one of the paid lounges, which have more space, free food, Wi-Fi, etc. You need an oasis in a place like Ataturk."

The crew seemed to be serving just white people. There was an attitude problem with almost all the staff. The crew needs an urgent lesson in hospitality. Food: Our menu options were some chicken and beef items. The crew served me some food without telling me what it was. As I was about to eat I realized that i was about to eat beef. I am a Hindu, I don't eat beef. I wasn't upset the crew served me beef. I am upset with what happened next. When I called her back to tell her I don't eat beef her response was "We don't have anything else " and she moved on. She never offered/served anything else. Not even a sandwich. And I was left hungry for the rest of my 10 hour flight. The 2nd meal that was served was vegetarian I assume buy I wasn't sure because the crew never told me. For most parts I was not offered anything to drink and I had to ask the crew for drinks. I travel internationally from the US every month. I go to India at least 4 times a year. However I have never been this badly treated by any airlines.Turkish airlines staff are racist which is really insane considering they are running international flights. If you don't want to serve Indians and other non-whites you should not operate out of these countries. We have plenty of other options. This was my first time travelling Turkish Airlines and there is no doubt in my mind that it will be the last."

My companion did use hers, and mine (also a first in many decades). Part of the bumpiness could have been due to a weather system but the plane's movement was jerky when taxiing in Boston. BOS-MUC used to be one of my favorite routes back when it was served by the A360. The new A350 is nothing special except for the entertainment system. Ironically the large screen seemed overwhelming due to the dismal distance to the seat in front."

Cons: "It is always so much easier to come up with the issues - wish I had more to add on the previous section. ENTERTAINMENT. Headphones provided required a two-prong jack option. There was only room for one prong - so only one ear had sound. The sound perhaps due to this limitation was poor and I couldn't hear the track. Consequently I choose one film with subtitles - which was helpful. The cabin comfort overall was on the chilly side and required the use of the blanket for the whole trip. Meals - the dinner meal served was a nice selection. However, the dessert was still cold - affected flavor. I think a nice bar of chocolate would have been equally welcome as dessert option. There was a small Ritter - which was nice. Lunch or pre arrival snack - really a poor excuse for what was served as pizza. Very doughy and little filling. The tomato was ok but the other selection served - was not a good choice. Not sure what it was. Also had anticipated a warm cloth before landing as a refresher. The seating is incredibly narrow. While most planes are forced into less space, this ride was particularly uncomfortable. I know that there are different model planes each with its own space limitations, advantages or disadvantages, but - frankly, I had expected better from Lufthansa. Finally, by chance having flown to Europe by Swiss Air - I reluctantly have to say that their comfort level, meals and refreshing cloth made it a more comfortable flight."

Cons: "The boarding process unnecessarily was long and hot. We stood in the jet ramp line for nearly 15 minutes before entering the aircraft. There was no ventilation and the air was tepid. The seats were smaller in Economy Class than on competitor carriers. The lavs were unattended to during the 7 hour flight and, consequently, were filthy during the last hour or two. The food was mediocre, at best, but at least the cocktails were not an upcharge. Enough alcohol can make just about any food palatable."

Cons: "The only complaint I have regarding my most recent flight was the incredibly rude service staff whom we experienced at the front counter at check-in. After a harrowing cab ride to the airport in which our driver continuously ignored my request to follow the GPS insisting that he knew faster shortcuts, we arrived 40 minutes later than intended. Additionally he dropped us off at the wrong terminal such that we finally arrived at the KLM gate an hour later than we had planned. This was especially frustrating as we are traveling with two small children and made every effort to be punctual and leave early to be sure we got there with time to spare. Not the case today. All of that I could deal with, but when we arrived at the KLM counter, and I apologized to the attendant staff member that we were late and explained that our cab driver got lost, she responded by chastising us first in Spanish and then in broken English. She made sure to make it clear to us that it was our fault and we should not blame the Argentinian cabdriver. The cabdriver was not actually Argentinian, but that is totally besides the point. I was totally taken aback to be treated so rudely as a greeting at the airline counter. My wife share the same sentiment. Nothing like this has ever happened to us before. Thank God, every single airport personnel and of course KLM staff member on board was incredibly kind and accommodating of our children subsequent to this. It saved what otherwise could've been a terrible experience."

We had trouble locating the receipt and we were not given an explanation as to why we needed it again. We were traveling with 5 kids including an infant and we were not allowed to board until we found the receipt. I thought surely they would have record that I had paid, but I guess not. We were the last to board and all very stressed out. The staff seemed not to care the least in our troubles."

Arrival at Logan, Boston was a nightmare...2 hours to get through passport control, customs and baggage pick up. Don't fly into Boston at 9pm Saturday night! I flew outbound with AerLingus and the leg room was better so I will look to fly with them next time."

The sign wasn't able to be seen, and these passengers shouldn't have been faulted for BA's ineptness. After being checked in, I asked an another BA agent where to go. Upon arriving at the aircraft, I was rather frostily told "you're onn the wrong level" and pointed to the stairs. I let them know that I was on the 2nd level due to the direction of the BA staff. My seat space was reduced to a mere 12" when the passenger in front of me abruptly reclined his seat all the way back."

Again, the luggage space and lie-flat seats (Club World) and meals (except my gluten-free meal) were very good, as was entertainment and cleanliness of the plane and lavs. This flight was supposed to be delayed by two hours, but in the end, they managed to take off at the originally scheduled time. More good news: the flight was smooth and arrived on time and most importantly, safely. Luggage arrived quickly and in good condition on the carousel. BA is really good!"

Cons: "In london it took 3 hours to rebook. They rebooked me to JFK onward LGA to BOS the next day. The flight to JFK landed 9:30 PM as scheduled. Poor slot management lead to 2 hours on the Tarmac. 11:30 PM flight is taxied to another terminal. No BA customer service here. BA baggage service takes 2.5 hours to write a hotel voucher. Left Airport and reached Hotel at 3 AM. It took a further 1 hour for the Hotel to verify the vouchers. Finally hotel room at 4:15 AM"
Pros: "The staff was very friendly and helpful. The timing and amount of meal/snacks was more than sufficient. The dinner was pretty tasty!"

Pros: "I love Itsu restaurant in Heathrow. Healthy, ready and cheap! Get the Heathrow card & get points (although they take 7days to post!) There are also good shoe sales in the airport at christmas season."
Cons: "Heavy fog on London pushed my Nice-Heathrow 2h from even taking off, so they knew and could plan on coordinating the delay. yet, they didn't even delay the Heathrow-Boston flight 5minutes (surprised it kept its spot in the supposed heavy fog for take off). One thing that made matters worse on each way was that Heathrow has a mandatory security check in the middle of a flight connection even if you don't go out of the airport and don't want to check England. This wastes a lot of time in transfers, prevents people from carrying liquids they might have acquired, and makes tired passengers wait in line for another 1h or more, and get themselves in those machines, which is very frowned upon to opt-out of. I like the food on BA in general - good quality meat without tendons or too much fat, and overall nicely cooked. However their strength is in Indian food, and they should limit English food to 1 token per tray (mince pie ok, but the bitter coleslaw was inedible and sometimes we just need direction as I am just realizing now what the cotted curd was for: the minced pie). Not a horrible experience, but with 5h20 arrival delay, you'd think they'd offer me more than $6 for lunch! Finally, I hated having to wait in a random place until 1h before my flight and then dropping everything I was doing to run to my gate last minute."
Cons: "My flight was cancelled because I missed the first half of a round-trip flight, even though I phoned several times to explain that I still wanted to use the return trip. This practice seems almost criminal. I paid for the flight, I should have been able to use it."

Cons: "Online check in and seat selection did not work in the 24 hour advance window. I phoned BA a few different times during this interval and they were unable to assist-- they were seeing the same software error."
Cons: "There was a bed bug in the airplane blanket. We brought it to the attention of the flight attendant who got rid of the blanket, but not before I had been bitten quite a bit. Fortunately I think we caught it before my clothes became infested."
Pros: "The crew members were all courteous and helpful. It wasn't too cold. The journey back to Boston was not too crowded so that it was possible to relax."
Cons: "The food was absolutely atrocious. There was not one thing that was even remotely edible. Even the bread was cold and hard. It was abominable, as it always is, in my experience on BA. Even worse than American Airlines and that is really saying something. If there had been some crackers or nuts or cheese, or something like pretzels, it would have been nice. The effect is that British Airways looks stingy and upholds Britain's old and actually outdated reputation of being absolutely terrible at food. The entertainment was not working on the seat that I was sitting in, except for some awfully old TV programs from a million years ago. I tried to listen to the music but it was terrible quality. On the seat next to me the entertainment was available but very difficult to navigate and the screen was snowy/blurry. The reading light was positioned so that it was very uncomfortable to read by it."

Cons: "Cabin was very hot upon boarding. AC was not working. It was 2 hours into the flight before it was vaguely comfortable. The entertainment system also had problems starting up - about 90 minutes into the flight before it worked."
Cons: "TV didn't work for 3 hous and it was SO HOT that many of us passages resorted to fanning ourselves with covers torn from the front of the in-flight magazine. All this for $1000. British Air, NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!"

Cons: "The flight ended up being delayed over 3 hours, which was obviously not ideal. When we finally got on the plane, the AC wasn't working at all so it was extremely uncomfortable for over and hour I'd say - I felt like I was going to pass out while we were waiting to actually take off. The in flight entertainment system didn't work very well at all - I started a movie 4 different times because it kept shutting off, and the fast forward feature didn't work at all... Then the option to play movies went away entirely. Food was very average... Didn't even eat all of mine."
Pros: "The return portion of my flight was on a 747 aircraft--what a difference in the seats and legroom from the newer 777 that they mostly use on this run. Much more comfortable"

Cons: "Seat 39D had a fixed full aisle arm rest resulting in even less legroom. Only 1 toilet at back of plane - more people waiting for a single toilet, expecting more.. (I didn't use the ones at the front of the cabin) if the toilets get any smaller I doubt I'll be able to get in and use it. As I was near the back of the cabin, no choice of meal available when they got to me, given Pasta which I wont eat. Bread rolls were good."
