Absolutely NO compensation or reimbursement due to "weather." While I understand they can't control the weather, this is literally one of the greatest elements in their company. Cons: "No entertainment"
Pros: "The crew were beyond excellent and tried to help with the seats. They were also very apologetic for the seat issue."
Cons: "Our seats had no power and couldn't adjust. The crew manually did it for us but we never got it to go close to flat. We were on an old 757 which is such an embarrassing product for AA compared to the new or refurbished planes."
Pros: "Seating way too tight"
Cons: "The plane had no TV in front of the seat for a international flight, the space was tiny as well. I could never recommend this to anyone else."
Cons: "a little difficult to check in on line as we booked through Finn Air but was AA operated therefore the many reference codes did not work and had to call agent but got it worked out."
Cons: "When we arrived to Chicago we discovered that the airline had tried to "fix" out connecting flight and in the process I was accidentally removed from the same flight as my husband and we were both forced to take detours through London since we had missed our direct flight. Our checked baggage was lost for 2 days. The London airport has more strict rules for carry-on bags and liquids so much of our items were confiscated and the worst part of all was being told at the gate in Chicago that they didn't know why I was removed from the flight but that I would not be allowed to board because they couldn't reach anyone at the American Airlines desk. We pleaded for help for over an hour and were basically asked to sit down and be ignored. I was sobbing when my husband and I were separated and we were worried we might not find eachother in London or in our final destination of Dublin since we had no cell service."
Pros: "Smallest transatlantic plane ever! Too mich tirbulence for a plane this small on its way to Europe. I was expecting to be on Finnair and was on some crappy American Airline plane that just arrives to NY from Miami. Worst flight ever."
Cons: "The flight attendants were rude, they had no dinner, no healthy breakfast options, they rationed the beverages and after being without enough water for 12 hours, they would give you dirty looks when you asked for a second serving of plain water."
Pros: "Good value"
Cons: "Poor food quality"
Cons: "The food.... But you already know that, don't you."
Pros: "We lost a full day with delays using american airlines /finair when flying to dublin. Their "free" sandwiches to hold us over is embarasssing. We then missed our plane because finair informes us after waiting online we needed to go to another terminal to check bags at american airline. That was not initially told to us and now we are spending over $1000 so we can fly tomorrow plus hotel room. It also affected a business trip to vegas which i needed to cancel. My experience was terrible with finair and american airlines with terrible customer support at the airport. Amazing how we need to pay another 1000 for terrible communication."
Cons: "Lack of communication from airlines Delays Forced to pay a return flight fee plus hotel fee due to finair inabilityty to communicate and direct customers to right terminal."
Pros: "The emergency exit row had decent legroom and I was comped my beer."
Cons: "Perhaps it was my own fault, but I kept getting errors trying to check in online at the Finnair website. I was there because up until I tried to check in at JFK, I was 100% sure I booked a Finnair flight, because that's what Kayak told me. I was pretty pissed off when I found out that SURPRISE I was really flying on American Airlines, pretty much the most boring airline on the planet. When I checked in, I was still unable to get a seat assignment, not until I got to the gate where I had to wait 20 minutes for an agent to show up and sort things out. They finally put me in an emergency exit row, in an extremely uncomfortable non-recline seat (I know, regulations). The flight was also an hour late taking off (I know, not AA's fault), which did not help the experience. Will be more careful next time booking on Kayak."
Pros: "Food, entertainment and free checked bag. Can ask for more!"
Pros: "Great experience!"
Pros: "Flight crew was top notch"
Cons: "The boarding procédure in Dublin requires à long walks in 3 différent locations. Should be ma de shorter"
Pros: "Easy boarding, easy flight"
Cons: "Food served a little earlier, with beverages first. There was also buzzing in the headset when I was watching a movie."
Pros: "CRES was great"
Cons: "Many of us waited about 40 minute for our bags to show up in the reclaim area."
Cons: "Seats were a little uncomfortable but overall not bad."
Pros: "I didn’t die in a plane crash."
Cons: "They missed the connecting flight the day before, so we had to fly out the next day on a flight that left ~1 hour late. I know the staff is doing what they can so I blame the execs making millions because they’re typically the real problem anyway."
Pros: "The crew was awesome! Best flight I've ever had."
Pros: "Big windows"
Cons: "Too cold during red eye"
Cons: "My economy plus seat wouldn’t recline!"
Cons: "We didn't fly here"
Cons: "I wasn’t able to take the flight due to illness. Called Just Fly and airline for help - was on hold for hours. Both refused to help me. I am now out of pocket over $700. Appalling customer service by both airline and agent. Planning to report to the Better Business Bureau and travel authorities."
Cons: "Landed in Canada to let off a "sick" passenger, sat there for hours and after the pilot made countless excuses, including needing to refuel, needing a new route, and needing to de-ice the plane, he finally announced that we're headed all the way back to Newark for some unknown reason. Worst flight ever. Couldn't be any less happy. F*** this airline. Will never use again. Ruined my vacation, thanks a lot."
Cons: "50 characters isn’t enough to describe the pain I went through. United airlines screwed me. Canceled flight and didn’t compensate me only with a flight to Chicago and a 15 hour wait for the next flight... no hotel or food... no transportation."
Pros: "Crew members were pleasant"
Cons: "Gate was changed to a gate much farther away. Flight was delayed for 4 different reasons all of which were unlikely. We left 4 hours late. On board the plane was freezing cold. I will NEVER fly United Airlines again."
Pros: "flight was on time and the crew was friendly."
Pros: "Seats were quite comfortable. Service pretty great."
Cons: "The only issue was checking my bag at MHT. The guy at the desk had no idea what he was doing, and it made me really nervous."
Pros: "Ended up requesting a refund. Received zero compensation and zero empathy from anyone at United. Left the airport infuriated and drove to my destination instead."
Cons: "Ended up requesting a refund. Received zero compensation and zero empathy from anyone at United. Left the airport infuriated and drove to my destination instead."
Pros: "they gave a $100 voucher"
Pros: "Arriving in Dublin"
Cons: "Seat was cramped and uncomfortable"
Pros: "Seat size in premium economy."
Cons: "Food and presentation were weak."
Pros: "An empty seat in the middle."
Cons: "The seat in front of me reclined further than all the rest and the new seats that United has installed are incredibly uncomfortBle especially for a long international flight!!"
Pros: "I liked that we arrived on time and that the entertainment actually worked properly."
Cons: "I didn't like the fact that my husband and i had one option only and that was Indian vegan vegetarian dish. We were told that's all there was left. We gave back our tray. I don't mind going without food for a flight but my husband had surgery die to diverticulitis and can only eat certain food. The flight attendant said that she was going to check if there is anything left in first class but it took for ever and I become impatient as the light were turned off and people were getting ready to sleep. So I switch on the light and another flight attendant came by. I explained the situation but she came back with the same Indian vegetarian dish we turned away. After more frustration and explanation the Stewart came with the. Hi Ken version. I gave my husband my share and he was able to finally take his medication and eat the chicken with the bread. I only ate the ice cream and had a glass of wine. Later on the first flight attendant who served us the meal came with a couple of oranges and a bag of chips. Saying she got this from first class. I kept the oranges and gave her back the chips. Floghing with United is very disappointing to put it mildly."
Cons: "Over 4 hours of delays including on plane then everyone was kicked off. We waited more and they cancelled the whole flight and everyone had to scramble to get on anything available. I lost 28 hours of my vacation. They put us in a scary hotel in Chicago. I received a $200 voucher for further flights that doesn't even cover the cost of my unrefundable expenses such as car, hotel and tickets that were lost on my vacation."
Pros: "Entertainment was good"
Cons: "Flight delayed for 2.5 hours. Food at airport terminal specific to United ridiculously expensive, particularly for a family, e.g.. $8.50 for French fries, etc."
Pros: "We made it to Dublin..."
Cons: "Crew was terrible, grumpy and not welcoming. Boarding was terrible, 4 hours late. No compensation, little apology. Food was awful. Couldn't really tell what we were actually eating. Actually hated this flight."
Pros: "I loved the butternut squash pasta. I plan on making this recipe at home. The staff was also very pleasant and accommodating."
Cons: "My seat was uncomfortable and the person in front of me kept reclining. I had very little space to try and make myself comfortable. I am 110lbs, so I can't imagine how a larger person would feel."
Cons: "For an international flight, there should be more amenities like charger etc."
Pros: "Crew was very attentive"
Pros: "Love the cookie! Good crew."
Cons: "The crew kept coming around to give us snacks and drinks and "dinner". I thought we'd be left alone to sleep but we were not and the cabin lights were only off for about 2 hours on our 6 hour flight. It was an overnight flight so I assumed we would be able to just sleep but we were not."
Pros: "The woman who helped me check in."
Cons: "The difficulty of on line check in with a bag to checl"
Pros: "Service was good"
Cons: "Delay 8 hours with short notice I had 2 take Uber 90$ 2 Boston airport"
Pros: "Quick flight."
Pros: "Flight crew in Dulles were very helpful in arranging for my daughter and I to sit together. Really appreciated their help."
Pros: "Nothing. Never again"
Cons: "Rude and unhelpful. No empathy or concern. Erik"
Cons: "They kept delaying the flight. Finally, I decided to drive 6:30 hours."
Cons: "Flight was cancelled and initial Customer Service Representative was not helpful at all."
Cons: "Flight was delayed 2 hours from Manchester, which would have made me miss my connecting flight to MIA"
Pros: "It was a small prop plane but the flight was amazingly smooth."
Pros: "Two meals, great staff, eventless flight"
Cons: "2+ Hour delay due to airplane issues limited space under isle seats for carry on bags"
Pros: "Easiest boarding process I've ever had. Terrific!"
Cons: "No in flight entertainment, small cramped"
Pros: "We were tossed into the last row; I had no leg room and was constantly being bumped by people using the rest rooms. As a result it was a sleepless flight."
Pros: "After being in the air for 4 hours without being able to connect to listen to anything, a gentleman flight attendant came to ask if I needed help. He then tried a couple different tools to try to help me. Nothing ended up working, but I appreciated him trying."
Cons: "Before the flight took off, I mentioned to a female flight attendant that there seemed to be something in the headphone jack and would like some assistance. She said that it wasn't the time to assist me with that (which I can understand), but she never came back to try to help. Once in the air, another women recognized that I couldn't connect and said she would be back. I am not sure if she forgot or if sent the gentleman flight attendant to assist, I felt like I wasn't heard at all."
Cons: "For a trans-Atlantic flight this was a very small plane with very tight seats. The bathrooms smelled throughout the plane. Many seat back TVs didrn't function."
Pros: "It was timely, and the flight attendant was wonderful!"
Pros: "Great boarding at ORD."
Cons: "My seat"
Cons: "PA unreadable, entertainment screen broken, special allergy safe meal lost, luggage didn't transfer to next plane and we actually had to drive back to airport and get it 25 hours later loosing time on our trip, staff apathetic to everything! Will NEVER fly United again!"
Cons: "Took 30 hours to get to our destination on a trip with two kids. Out of the dozen people who we dealt with, only two were somewhat competent. It was the first time in my life I felt unsafe with a major carrier. Consistent problems on flights with mechanical issues and consistently unable to fix them. Then they offered a whopping $125 credit after we paid $4,000 for tickets only to spend two nights on airplanes and on a plane. It was so terrible, I still can't believe it. Time will not ease our frustration and disbelief. Fly with them at your peril."
Pros: "The plane and crew functioned well. From a purely technical stand-point the flight was a success, though it was delayed at Newark because the maintenance dept. took a good half hour to 45 minutes in transmitting its clearance to the captain."
Cons: "A lot of people of all ages, shapes, sizes, and dispositions were crammed into a comparatively small space. It was close and stuffy, very little space to stretch or move about when that was allowed. I'm not tall, but in terms of body mass I'm thicker and wider than many folks, but not obese, and my body thermostat tends to run on the warm side. So the flight was a bit of a physical and mental ordeal for me. The entertainment might have been great had my headphone port been operational. A previous passenger broke off the plug in the hole and the flight staff didn't have a pair of pliers on board to pull it out. Consequently, I was unable to listen to the media in-flight. Also, I couldn't recline my seat because the fussy older woman who sat behind me complained when I did, which made it difficult to snooze."
