The flight out of Richmond was so delayed there was no layover in Dallas. However we arrived at one end of Terminal C and had to nearly run to the other end to board the flight to Austin, minutes before Final boarding. Other than that the experience was pleasant.
The CRJ900 is a small plane. For larger passengers, it is only tolerable, even in 1st class. Perhaps avoid 1st row

Cons: "There is not enough waiting space at Madrid Terminal 4S for passengers on large aircraft. Boarding was not as fast and orderly as it should have been. Customs and passport control at DFW is very time consuming (much slower than at many other comparable airports). To change terminals, it is necessary to go back through security and then take a train. It took more than 1.5 hours for me to clear customs and get to another terminal for my connection."

The clerks seemed to be working quite slowly and were quite unconcerned about the growing line. I'm glad I checked in early for my flight!"

Flight delayed over an hour with no updates. Initially told crew had arrived and needed to make their way to the gate, but that was obviously a lie because I couldn't walked that distance a dozen times in the 70 minutes it took. Delays happen: fine. But failing to provide updates and informing passengers is inexcusable.

Can’t remember the gentleman’ Name but he confirmed the following that I am allowed 1 carry on since I am on the mileage plus and I have to pay my other baggage which I did online. My carry on is smaller than the usual carry on’s Standard yet they didn’t allow it at the United check in luggages and made me pay another $40. They allowed so many other passengers with lots of stuff and bigger carry on . It is all shown on your surveillance cameras and recorded on your customer services phone calls. I don’t know why I was treated and discriminated like that. I felt bad and humiliated about this incident."

I missed my flight on my way back - I think when everyone was boarding, I somehow misinterpreted the digital sign that said "Ontario" to mean that they were boarding for Ontario. I had to sleep in the airport that night because I missed the flight - most uncomfortable experience ever! I paid for United's lounge but they weren't open 24/7. Then they almost didn't let me in the next morning to the lounge because technically it was only for that 1 night, even though I had been at the airport all the same. Lesson learned - maybe I should just drive to SD rather than fly."

They should pay us a cancellation fee like they charge us when we cancel. Incurred additional expense getting to Manchester, NH. Not happy with United."
Cons: "United delayed the flight. This information became available about an hour in advance- well after we drove two hours (We live in Montana) to get to the airport. The attendants said / not our problem. I called United's Customer Service number to discuss ways of mediating the delay that resulted in us missing the wedding venue and entire reason we booked the $1400 flight. I again got a "not my problem" response- no the flights can be modified, no we will not provide vouchers, no we really don't care that our poor quality and service cost you and your family tremendously in time, effort, and lost memories. I know we are at the mercy of airlines, but what a painful disappointment. My experience with Delta has been better and I suggest avoiding United Airlines if other flight options exist.... Even consider a very long drive over the use of the airline."
