Meanwhile since we already missed our connecting flight from Portland to Bellingham they rescheduled us from Portland to SEATTLE to Bellingham later that night but while stopped in Boise we managed to get on a flight directly to Seattle and our son picked us up there instead of Bellingham. We were told our checked bags would go to their tagged destination so we drove to Bellingham to collect them. Not so. Luggage is missing."

Cons: "I didn't make it because the flight to LAX was late and despite being told by an Avianca employee there was a later flight from LAX to PDX (at 11:45 on AlaskaAir) which I would be put on, once I arrived I was told I was on a 6 AM on Delta with no arrangement to get me a hotel or anything. I bought a separate ticket on that 11:45 flight on Alaska Air to PDX instead. Extremely unhappy with this service and will never again use it. I will also tell everyone in my social circles, in person and online, to stop using it."

We were a little late because our flight from Taipei was an hour late. She did schedule us at 6 am on another flight which made an interesting (painful) night with 3 boys under the age of 6. Nowhere did it state that boarding was closed 30 minutes prior to the flight. Bad experience - late night ...small kids... no food or drink available...surley gate person..no notice of the boarding policy...just a very bad experience."

I needed to ask for a seat extender as I'm currently recovering from surgery and needed a little room around the bandages and I had to ask several times even though there was not a lot of pre-flight activity. They were standing around in the aisle. I make note of this type of behavior because I fly frequently for work on a variety of airlines and this is my first experience with Alaska Air."

Flight boarded efficiently, departed DFW on time, and arrived in Portland on schedule. Service from the crew was pleasant and prompt. I like the new style of power outlets in every seat that Alaska uses. You can plug in a laptop or other device using a standard plug, and they also have a USB outlet for charging phones or tablets. Would fly again."

I contacted the airline several weeks to see what options I had to switch flights, or get a voucher for a later date. No flexibility. I purchased a one way ticket for $125.60 and they have a cancel/transfer fee of $125. So I had a wasted ticket that just flew empty. I asked if I could transfer the ticket to someone else... They said $125. They told me if I had purchased the travelers insurance it still would be the same fees as well. Not earning my business."

Our non-stop from ATL to Honolulu was changed and we were rerouted through LA. Boarding should go back to the way it used to be when the main cabin was boarded by rows starting in the back. It is ridiculous to board people randomly when they block the isle getting settled and others can’t pass to get to their seats behind them. Who ever changed that way of boarding was NUTS!

To make matters worse, the gate agents didn't make announcements even if just to say we know this isn't good and we will update you asap even if just to tell you we are still waiting on word. Total silence and seeing the gate agents laugh and talk amongst each other was pretty bad."

I'll grant you I am a big girl at 6' 250 however the first leg of my flight from FLL to ATL which WAS on a Delta plane, was fine. I did not feel smashed into the seat. For the money, I feel like I am due more than being locked into the seat unable to move more than 1/2 inch for an entire flight. Thankfully the flight was under 2 hours."

Dinner was cleared and lights turned down about 1.5 hours later, including three opportunities for beverages. Lights came back up only about an hour before landing. Despite that no one seemed rushed. Seconds were offered for coffee, passengers had time to use the restroom before de-planing. We likely had almost 4 hours of our approximately 7.5 hour itinerary to attempt sleep."

I think that this was because of issues with the website, apparently due to IT system communication between American Airlines and Cathay Pacific.......on all six flights. On the transfer in San Francisco, Customs was closed when we arrived in San Francisco and we had to haul all of our baggage from one terminal to the other. There was no direction on how to handle this issue of Customs being closed while on the flight to San Francisco. I had to explain the issue of to the CP customer service crew in SF. The CP desk and they had never heard of it. American Airlines was equally poorly trained. I will also say that while at the CP customer service, there were three young adult males that we're not busy at the time and the watched us unload the baggage carts onto the scales and conveyor and then reloaded on to the carts to push to the AA terminal. We handled the bags two additional times because the CP staff did not know what to do and how to handle it. Other passengers were confused as well."

Flint airport is an easy airport to use, no muss no fuss. The Allegiant staff there was both friendly and helpful. Flight was good. We did not have food (snacks for sale on plane) or entertainment, but we knew that ahead of time.
Worst airline experience of my life. Do not recommend. News flash: allegiant has never heard of connecting flights. You’re dumb enough to take two allegiant flights on the same day? Well, buddy, get off the plane, race to baggage claim, wait forever, haul your bags to the ticket counter, pay another baggage fee, then get your sweaty butt back in that security line and figure out what to do about the flight you missed. Because allegiant does not check your bags to your destination. It’s their policy. No joke. If you catch a connecting flight, your bags will not. That’s just the allegiant way!
This flight not too much to like. .5lbs and they were gonna charge us $50. No one on the flight had a personality. Literally they all just stood there with a frown on their face. My 3 year old who is always cheerful spoke to all the ladies and they all just said hi in a somber tone. Very disappointing. Got charged for two drinks when paying with my Allegiant Mastercard. Should have gotten one free. Just a disappointing flight experience.

So before anyone was mobile or doors were open, there were large pieces of luggage being passed around through really crowded spaces. Chill, people. The baggage carousel at the new terminal was poorly designed, shutting down when people went to pick up their bags. It took awhile to get our bags, and we were scolded by the staff for tripping some sensor. I don't know what universe y'all live in, but in this one, you have to move close to the carousel to lift your bag. So the sensor tripped like three times and people were unhappy."

Of course the hotel only take you until 12pm so I spend so many hours in the airport waiting for re ticketing they told us to be at 6pm we wait and I got my ticket leaving at 9.45pm but the crew come one hour and half late. From Panama to Lima flight was late . I had a conference very important to be Saturday morning, I lost my investment and relationships with the company I was going to start a business there excuse was they couldn’t relay on my punctuality, honestly. I got there more than a day and half LATE. If you ask me how was my trip I will tell you horrible and I can’t recommend anybody, this company doesn’t have any personality at all"

She had no sympathy and was not nice or helpful. When we got on the flight, realized it was empty and we were sitting WAY in the back when there were plenty of open seats, so we moved up thank God!"

The United Airline staff in San Francisco told me to pick up my luggage when I get to Seattle despite of the fact that my final destination was Vancouver. Upon arrival to Seattle I went to the baggage claim area to find out that my luggage was already put through to the connecting airline to Vancouver. This resulted in me having to go through a long line of passengers to do all of the security checks again to enter the international airport gates. This almost resulted in me missing my connecting flight to Vancouver. The only saving grace was that the flight was delayed by another hour. 3. Changes made on my connecting flights were only given to me during my check in at Auckland. My previous booking was Auckland -San Francisco - Portland - Vancouver. The boarding pass I was given in Auckland omitted Portland and was changed to Seattle. I was never informed about this by United Airlines. 4. United Airlines website NOT allowing me to log in using my e-mail."

Crew kept telling me to put my seat upright, I kept having to tell them the seat was broken. Old airplane with no in-seat entertainment. they advertise on the seat that you can watch all their entertainment content for free, but then you have to pay for wifi to watch so it's not free then, is it? Every movie or show requires "additional software" so you have to purchase internet to do the download. This is an 11 hour flight, I would have appreciated being able to watch a movie or something without forking out $30. Flight was delayed, so we were low on time to make our connection. I asked a flight attendant twice if we could get help deplaning early or at least get moved up some rows since we were in the very back of a 747 (there were plenty of vacant seats). They said no, and told us that customs would only take a minute and that the other united flight knew we'd be coming and would wait. I don't usually fly united; other airlines typically will actively take steps to help (like moving connecting passengers to the front shortly before landing) if they are the cause of the delay. Customs had only one agent working and we were pretty much last in line so that process took over an hour. Just moving us 10 rows forward before landing would have made all the difference because our connecting flight closed its doors and taxied for takeoff less than 5 minutes before we arrived. They had some united employees guiding and directing a couple of passengers that were going to be late for a connection to LAX, but no help for those of us connecting to portland. Customer service didn't even offer a verbal apology. Last time I flew with united, I also had a terrible experience for different reasons. I did not intend to fly united for this flight, but I purchased tickets through and for Lufthansa, and this flight was regrettably operated by united. Another thing I don't like - the food was horrendous. It was a breakfast sandwich that was advertised as "hot and fresh" on the packaging but was served straight from the refrigerator. I was in the middle seats with one person to my left and two people to my right. Everyone took only one bite and threw away the rest. Just don't bother serving the food if it's going to be that bad, it's very wasteful. I always appreciate a hot towelette after a long overnight flight. United offered no such thing which was a first for me. Regarding boarding: they called us all up to line up in boarding groups and then we had to stand in line for 65 minutes. I have a bad back and had to sit on the carpet to avoid being last in line and not having space for my carry on bag. Would have been nicer if they would have just let us sit in the chairs at the gate in comfort until they were ready to board."

The entertainment system with controls in the middle of the arm rest where the elbow rests is such a bad idea, didn't even bother with this crappy unintuitive system. It was annoying and flashy with bright advertisements or something popping up on a night time flight just sooooooo annoying, turning it off was not intuitive and had to ask the flight attendants how to turn it off during their very busy work of handing out packages with five miniature pretzels and drinks to the passengers, was happy to get a whole cab of juice to myself though."

Then we are given a mystery snack mix and a drink, I remember we used to get meal service for flights that long. Boarding was very confusing for people in groups 3, 4, & 5 as we were all grouped in one line. Group 3 was called and 4 & 5 tried to board. A simple PA saying that group 3 should be in line first would help the confusion. The lady performing the boarding call was rude. Saying "I don't care I will just take thier bags and check them, they don't have a choice". That's a great way to start an argument. Then the seat pitch is awful, I'm not the only person flying that is over 6ft tall. My knees were directly impacting the meal tray arms of the seat in front of me the entire flight. Shorter flights weren't bad, but sitting on the ramp waiting for takeoff for at least 30 minutes plus the flight time was pretty painful."

I again got a "not my problem" response- no the flights can be modified, no we will not provide vouchers, no we really don't care that our poor quality and service cost you and your family tremendously in time, effort, and lost memories. I know we are at the mercy of airlines, but what a painful disappointment. My experience with Delta has been better and I suggest avoiding United Airlines if other flight options exist.... Even consider a very long drive over the use of the airline."
