Alaska drastically changed our flight from a direct flight to a flight with connection and a long layover. So we canceled the Alaska flight and we learned a valuable lesson that we will never book through kayak again because the third party travel agent tried to withhold our money.
It was a super old plane so the first class experience was just not luxurious
I’m not sure there is anything that can be improved, even the cost was fantastic.
We were singled out, greeted and helped with check-in at the busy airport. They offered to take our bags there and gave no fuss when we said they were carry-on. With United just last week I had to put up a fight just to get onto the flight with my one authorized carry-on.
The flight was jumping between being delayed and closer to schedule about 5 times. Alaska air website showed incorrect times while google had latest info. This panic was horrible to deal with.
The plane was delayed a bit. It wasn't a huge problem though, as we were heading back home.
Flight delay was inconvenient and exhausting getting in at 1 am. However the crew and lounge was very comfortable.
I had never flown Alaska before. Years ago I flew constantly. Flying these days is not a glamorous experience. It’s not that easy to get inexpensive direct flights either. Not glamorous but reasonably priced and comfortable. I appreciated the inflight WiFi (for messaging only but that’s ok, I like to read on flights). I didn’t check the inflight entertainment, see above. I was lucky on the AUS => SFO flight—they needed volunteers to check bags at the gate. That bumped me up a level in status so they let me move to an empty exit row. The return flight I was assigned a seat in one. Very nice. As pleasant a trip as possible these days.
It would be nice if you had free internet. Text messaging is appreciated.
Plane hit turbulence diverted to Houston. We'll probably get in after 3am
Boarded from a very small gate at LAX. Staff at gate had us line up, then waited 25 minutes to board without a word of explanation. Plane arrived on time then waited 20 minutes for a plane to vacate our gate. Majority of bags arrived after 15 minutes but it took an hour for a small number of remaining bags to be off-loaded despite my “priority” bag tag.
The boarding process on the departure from LA was rather slow even though I was in Group 1. For first class, I was not expecting to have to pay for Wi-fi but I did and then the wi-fi was spotty. The entree was surprisingly good and so that was a pleasant surprise. However, once I got to Houston, it was terrible. Unfortunately there was bad weather but the constant gate changes for my connecting flight was difficult to manage due to having to navigate back and forth between different terminals.
No screens or meal options. Freezing cold. Dirty seats. Left late.
Boarding was again a "free for all". We were boarding group 4, and almost the entire plane was able to board before us. It's a shame that someone who follows the rules, gets the short end of the stick. Not fair.
My flight was canceled a few hours before boarding. I was rebooked on Copa airlines and missed an important meeting .
Complimentary light meal would be appreciated. But great flight crew service on all legs
I boarded flight UA#1318 at Sacramento International Airport going back to Houston TX. The flight was scheduled at 5:10am. I was able to check in virtually using the United Airlines app. When I entered the airport, there was no one outside assisting with checked bags as it was for Delta Airlines. Immediately upon entering, there was a LONG, EXTREMELY LONG line to the kiosks to get boarding passes. I stand in line to get boarding passes then had to move to ANOTHER EXTREMELY LONG line to get my bags checked in. While standing in this line, we noticed an agent taking customers to 3 at a time to her station to check their bags in. Lucky for me, she called me back, checked my bags for me and I was on my way. I then encountered another long line at the TSA check and to avoid I ending up having to sign up for CLEAR to bypass it. So glad, I did.,...Both of my flights were great with no issues, butthe check in progress at Bush Airport was so much smoother. Check-in at SMF airport needs to be anaylzed and corrected. Do better United, I know you can....thanks
I was in first class. The outlets at my seat did not work. The plane was shabby and run down. I had prepurchsed a day subscription for internet that was not redeemable. I had to repurchase the internet for my flight and then it didn’t work anyway. Quite disappointed in what was supposed to be the launch of a great vacation.
Awful. I got stuck next to a person carrying a dog and behind someone with a dog. People need to board these dogs downstairs. The cabin is crowded enough with your pets
It would have helped if I knew it would be air Canada jazz/rouge. The flight was ok but the planes are older and smaller with no entertainment. Fitting the carry one every one had was tricky and made the process longer. Overall it was ok but I actually booked a company other than air Canada and got them which was disappointing.I prefer American or overseas airlines over Canadian because the experience is usually better
Leave on time. We waited on the plane for hour hours and it was hot and smelly

Massimo, flight attendant was very authentic, attentive - wonderful. Food/wrap was just okay.
2 hour delay due to equipment failure. No updates via the app and airport screens (which continued to show a departure time in the past). AA eventually switched planes and the new plane was not catered or cleaned correctly.
Always seated jammed in rear of aircraft Admirals Club food at DFW terminal D was absolute worst food experience and I pay $600/year to eat this dried out junk
The plane was very warm and the crew turned on the lights for the entire snack service.

The gate crew did try to help, however they lacked the information as to whether the flight will operate or not. Being delayed 6 hours and in a limbo on whether the flight will operate or not is not fun. The airline having staffing issues is not encouraging at all.
Gossipy flight attendants talked the whole flight about bar hopping and dating.
Best price with timings that suited us. The flight was punctual.
