But flight was overbooked and I got a standby ticket with no seat while my 4 family members, including 3 on the same reservation, were seated. I had to stand in line as a standby, and then was assigned a seat that didn't recline at all -- not the best for an overnight flight, and having planned, checked in and gotten a seat, IOW done what I was supposed to, it wasn't a nice way to be treated."

The ride was smooth, quick, and mostly comfortable, although I did wish I could have a little more elbow room. There was no entertainment, but that was also fine because the flight was fairly short. Overall, I don’t have any complaints."

Cons: "The return leg has been nothing but a disaster, in every way possible, specifically my time and financially. At no point in the booking process, when I paid over $800 for the trip, was I told that I needed a specific travel visa (Canadian ETA) to fly back into Toronto for my return flight. Subsequently when I checked in for my flight yesterday morning in Manchester, England, I did not have the required travel documents and had to be rerouted onto a flight into the U.S. at a cost to me of $350. The rerouted flight got me to Washington Dulles airport, where I then had to purchase a second flight to get me home to Cleveland, Ohio, at an additional/extra cost of $450. MY CAR IS PARKED AT TORONTO PEARSON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT!!! I am having to now rent a car and drive there tomorrow (Friday) to collect my car, at another additional cost of $100 plus a 10-hour round trip. Due to the lack of information and communication on your companies behalf, I am down close to a $1,000 and will lose 2-days in work as of the additional days I am having to travel back to Toronto to collect my vehicle. I would appreciate contact from your organization to find the avenue I need to take for compensation of my time and finances. Regards"

Cons: "The business class is not really a business class, and the chairs are not comfortable. Moreover, there was no entertainment. During the boarding there was no distinction between Business and Economy class. There should be an opportunity for business class to board at any time."

After take-off, food service started 2 or 2.5 hours later , they could have expdited it considering that the flight was delayed. Seats ,as I have come to expect from Lufthansa , were cramped laterally ,although i was pleasantly surprised with how much they reclined, given my low expectations. Main dish in the Food service was served hot but were quite minimal in taste/quantity & variety comapred to other inter-continental providers. I was feeling hungry most of the flight and couldnt sleep as well."

Pros: "The cabin crew were well trained, hospitable and efficient. The young lady assigned to our section of the aircraft worked endlessly to address the needs of passengers, and remained extremely pleasant and often humorous, throughout the passage."
Cons: "The boarding process unnecessarily was long and hot. We stood in the jet ramp line for nearly 15 minutes before entering the aircraft. There was no ventilation and the air was tepid. The seats were smaller in Economy Class than on competitor carriers. The lavs were unattended to during the 7 hour flight and, consequently, were filthy during the last hour or two. The food was mediocre, at best, but at least the cocktails were not an upcharge. Enough alcohol can make just about any food palatable."

Cons: "The scheduling of the in flight events made no sense. The cabin was dimmed for take off (logical, given that it was a red-eye). However, once we were at altitude, the lights were put back on to serve dinner. Several people were woken up by this and it took like 1.5 hrs because its a big plane. Also, it was like 9-10pm local time by this point so dinner made no sense! Then the lights were dimmed and people tried to sleep. The lights were turned on 1.5 hrs prior to landing to serve a light breakfast. So, 6.5 hr red-eye turned into about 3.5 hrs of actual sleeping time. I would've preferred to be left alone and given a bigger breakfast."

Pros: "The flight started with a visit in the recently renovated KLM crown lounge in Amsterdam airport. I liked the various seating options and of course the upstairs bar. The service on board was attentive and efficient, the food options I really liked (especially the Chinese dish) but also the little touches like the nuts & gouda cheese which were served in small porcelain bowls. The seat itself was very comfortable when sitting and the structure gives a lot of privacy. However for couples or friends travelling it's a bit cumbersome to have a conversation even when sitting in seats next to each other. Overall my expectations were fulfilled."
Cons: "This seat is not ideal for sleeping for taller persons (I'm 185cm tall) as the space to put the feet is very narrow and it's uncomfortable when lying on the back (as one cannot put them in the natural resting position). Cabin temperature could have been a bit lower for my taste. Crew needs better training with regards to transfer procedure in Chengdu."

Cons: "Our two hour connection in Paris became 30 minutes because Air France was late in leaving Washington. So our luggage didn't make to to KLM to Amsterdam. My poor rating was because the luggage handling was really poor. Lots of flights from Paris to Amsterdam (almost hourly), but my bag showed up 12 hours later. My wife's bag took 36 hours. And yes, we checked in together. There were lots of confusing messages"

Pros: "Of the multiple international airlines I recently flew with, I would have to say KLM was by far the best. Relaxing atmosphere, comfortable seating, great in-flight entertainment, although I have the go-go in-flight data/entertainment plan with t-mobile (highly recommended), the flight included a decent selection of movies, television programs, etc. The food far exceeded typical "airline quality," even for an international flight - and included a fabulous little snack box with locally sourced gourmet and specialty items such as chocolate from Belgium, fine cheeses from France, and crackers from England. Drinks = gratis, and crew was exceptionally attentive and went out of their way to make flight as pleasant as possible."

Aer lingus staff at customer service seemed confused on what to do with us. Finally, after talking to a manager they offered to route us through London to Glasgow. Very frustrating, not sure why they couldn't hold the Glasgow flight to accommodate all of us? It would of been a lot easier for us!!"

Cons: "There wasn't any notification prior to booking process, with regards the need to get visa from the airport where I should be transiting for 2 hours only. After I booked and paid for nonrefundable, unchangeable, uncancellable ticket, I got an email asking me to get a visa in order to be able to transit for only two hours in Toronto airport. The visa takes at least 2 weeks, and my travel date was only few days ahead!. The rough lady in air Canada, plus the bad service and advise by the travel agent who advised not to take any action as it is only 2 hrs transiting and I won't be in trouble, all of that makes me not to recommend anyone to use your weird website. I had to stay 20hrs in the airport to book for another flight."

I've never met a collectively nicer group of people and wil definitely fly with Aer Lingus in the future. Food was also great."

Cons: "The flight had to make an emergency landing back in O'Hare due to technical issues with the plane. A part was missing, so the flight was cancelled. Getting a reimbursement has been a nightmare. The crew provided passengers with a hotline number that worked rarely: we were told to call the number after 9 AM the next day - it took until about 1 PM before the signal would stop being busy and another 1 hour on hold before anyone from support would pick up. After someone did answer, the support agent on the line was aggressive and rude. She said she could not help me due to the flight having been booked through Kayak. When asked whether she would be contacting them to determine next steps, since this was an issue between Aer Lingus and the website, she shouted that she would do nothing of the sort and immediately hung up. Overall, this entire experience has been a nightmare - I would not recommend flying through Aer Lingus to anyone. Not due to the flight cancellation, but due to the complete lack of support and utter disinterest in helping customers."

(He also reeked of alcohol but was not obnoxious in any way.) I was well and truly squished in the corner but managed eventually to catch the eye of flight attendant and asked for another seat. The next seat -- the headphone jack did not work, and I ended up in the last row, with it all to myself, which was great, because at 5 foot tall, I could stretch out. Crew were very nice and hadn't developed the officious, chip-on-the-shoulder attitude common among many United flight attendants. Aer Lingus crews have always been lovely."

Seat size has become absurd and is not adequate for the average American and, increasingly, European. Any one who needs a seat belt extender should not be seating in an economy-size seat. If this had been a full flight with me unable to move seats, I would have been more than miserable with the large man beside me oozing over the sides and taking half my leg space."

Besides, you don't want to have to go back 5 rows to retreive your bag once you land! Bring food with you if you don't want to pay a high price for water."

No luggage. They told me it was still in Chicago. Upon finally receiving my bags, I find them full of sawdust and sand, and several items damaged. I will NEVER fly American Airlines again, and I will highly recommend to my friends and family to avoid them like them plague. Horrible service! Nothing but a run-around and not once did the agents apologise, even after admitting that my problems on this journey were due to a mistake made by one of their agents."

And although half the flight had not been assigned seats the boarding agent had an attitude that I wanted to get my seat assigned. The airplane was circa 1992, there was a box tv in the aisle every few rows. We flew NY to San Juan PR in July and had personal entertainment on a 3-hour flight, but not ona 6-hour trans-Atlantic. Then there was a problem with the fuel tanks and apparently it was right in the middle of shift change, so one shift went home and the captain didn't know what was going on. "I'm embarrased" he said and we sat on the ground for almost 2 hours. The crew were great, the dinner was fine but yogurt and a weird muffin top is not ok. The best part of the whole flight was a free jack & ginger ale. Based on this experience alone I wouldn't fly with Finnair again. Our trip was for a wedding and most everyone else flew Air Lingus and had a flawless experience, poor choice on our part!"

I thought it might have been my headphones but I tried two different pairs including the pair provided by the airline. I was only able to hear scratchy background noise but no words. This meant I had to go the entire flight with no movie or music. That was highly disappointing. I told the flight attendant about it and she reset my screen thinking that might be the problem but it did not help at all."

Ended with us getting off the plane 4 hours after we were originally due to take off, a further hour delay before they said we could board again but then midway through that boarding we were told the flight was cancelled and no hotels were available and we'd need to return to check-in area to find out next steps. All this with our exhausted 4-year olds. Ended with us leaving the airport at 3 am. I truly never wish to fly American Airlines again."

I bought tickets on Kayak through Justfly.com for a Finnair flight and added an American Airlines (affiliate) frequent flyer number.and reserved my seats early.as I usually do and everything was confirmed by Justfly.com. No problems, right? I did not receive a check in notification. I used the Finnair trip number on my email but it said there was no flight found. I could not initially get hold of Just fly.com. when I did, they said I had to check in through American Airlines. That didn't work initially either. After getting a new trip number I was able to check in but our seats were changed and it was a red eye. When trying to get seats I noticed there are very few seats left. The seats I had selected were now open and would coat another $120 plus. I couldn't even get those. We wound up with some exit seats which seemed fine until my wife couldn't recline her seat. It was uncomfortable for both of us because she had to use my legs to prop hers onto. Im still on vacation so I haven't contacted American for a refund yet."

I was there because up until I tried to check in at JFK, I was 100% sure I booked a Finnair flight, because that's what Kayak told me. I was pretty pissed off when I found out that SURPRISE I was really flying on American Airlines, pretty much the most boring airline on the planet. When I checked in, I was still unable to get a seat assignment, not until I got to the gate where I had to wait 20 minutes for an agent to show up and sort things out. They finally put me in an emergency exit row, in an extremely uncomfortable non-recline seat (I know, regulations). The flight was also an hour late taking off (I know, not AA's fault), which did not help the experience. Will be more careful next time booking on Kayak."

The plane was much older than the recent return trip I had and the air was much more dry."

Cons: "Once again I found the air Canada staff unaccommodating, un-attentive and basically indifferent to the aircraft's guest. In addition I tried 4 electrical outlets on the aircraft before finding one that worked and the reading lights never did work. I would never recommend this airline."

Cons: "Poor seat room. Food quality mediocre."

Cons: "The food was awful! Dinner was barely ok and don't over advertise your "light breakfast." A cold piece of banna bread slapped down on my tray barely can be called a snack! The seats on the seemingly very old 767 were painfully uncomfortable. The 320 had better seating. And what entertainment?????"

Cons: "The fact there was no entertainment system available for a 6hr international flight is a crime. Apparently there is some sort of app you need to download on a mobile device or computer BEFORE the flight, Would have made a huge difference knowing that."

Cons: "There were no screens to watch anything on for a flight across the Atlantic. And we were told once we boarded that we needed to download the aircanada app in order to get content. Well by that time I didn't have free wifi and couldn't download the app. Very frustrating. I would suggest announcing this before people board the flight."

Pros: "Got to spread out onto two seats since flight was not crowded."
Cons: "Food options. No inflight seat with entertainment screen."

Cons: "I am 5' tall and there was no leg room for me."

Pros: "The plane didn't crash."
Cons: "We were dehydrated and the flight attendants were stingy with WATER."

Pros: "Great flight crew, fairly comfortable seats. Made a 10-hour flight pretty bearable."

Pros: "Boarding was smooth and the crew was wonderful!"
Cons: "Air Canada changed my seat assignment at the gate. I had chosen a window-seat, but they switched me to a center seat. Also, there is no free in-flight entertainment if you don't have your own tablet/smartphone (neither of which I have). You can rent i-pads. I wish I had known that before flying."

Pros: "Great crew. Gracious and helpful."
Cons: "Kayak was a nightmare to work with."

Cons: "The fight itself was fine. Not great. Not terrible. But the airline lost my son's suitcase and has been entirely unhelpful ever since then. Now we have been stuck in a foreign country without clothes and toiletries for 36 hours and Air Canada's "helpline" has been anything but helpful. They can not find any information on the location of the suitcase and hope that they will find it in another 48 hours. Rediculous!! I will never fly them again and suggest that you save your money, effort and vacation by flying with another airline."

Pros: "The flight crew were nice and friendly, though they weren't very on top of trash pickup, but they were chipper and that's always better than grumpy crew that are super-efficient. Also, our luggage made it with us despite a tight connection."
Cons: "53 minute hold time to call center (before my call was even answered) to order vegetarian meals for flight (the day before flight) -wish that could be done online, vegetarian meal request not transferred to new flight after we missed our initial flight due to first flight delay, lights not working properly for half of flight (sleeping child under spotlight), the pasta dish, collecting garbage in my seat throughout flight (particularly after meal service), cramped seating, lack of entertainment, and they are now charging for alcoholic beverages on international flights. I'm not a big drinker, but I still enjoyed that perk."

Pros: "Service was fair"
Cons: "Lst 2 of 3 suitcases, no entertainment in seatback, personal device entertainment was very limited and dated, wine is not complimentary with meals on a long flight, screaming babies, overhead light would not work for the right side or middle of plane. As an Alliance member, you failed miserably. We will be seeking partial refund for you sendng one bag to Athens, one to Zurich and one to Munich."

Cons: "Had to use your own electronic device. Did not know that you had too download an app prior to boarding. No personal control over cooling/heating. Never fly Air Canada Rouge in the future"

Pros: "Toronto is a lovely airport, and it's a short hop to Europe from there, which is why Air Canada Rouge is ok for the trip. It's important to remember that their no frills approach means no TVs. Sleep or plan accordingly."
