Brand new plane. Didn’t even have WiFi hooked up yet. That’s the only complaint.

Considering I had just been through a death in my family and was mentally miserable ( she had no idea) she must have picked up on it. BEST FLIGHT IN YEARS. Thank you. Customer svc is everything."

I dont understand how your own ground crew can damage your plane and it take so long for you to decide to change planes AFTER BOARDING A FULL PLANE!?!?"

They put me on a flight that sent me to Seattle then to Portland 3 hours behind schedule, but I'm mostly upset because I still got to the Portland gate 20 minutes before the departure time and they refused to find me and 2 other passengers a seat on the flight because they over sold out seats, seats we bought months in advance. So i was there 25 - 20 minutes before departure and people were still running up to make their flight but their seats weren't over sold... I will never be flying with Alaska again. Every other airline lets most passengers check in within 30 minutes bc I've never had this problem before. Horrible service from the Alaska McCaren Las Vegas airport lord of additude for 5am. Maybe they need new updated workers that try to work with you."

TSA was actually friendly in Las Vegas (I realize this is not Alaska's control). Skills of the pilots was exceptional (very windy leaving LV and the flight was great). We left very late due to a problem with the flaps warning light (??). Would rather have left late after thoroughly checking it out than take a chance - good for you, Alaska! Pilot took advantage of a tailwind and we got to SeaTac in 1 hr 50 min (I think this is pretty spectacular). Enough room in overhead bins. Great job. Pilots and stews all smiled at me and said thanks and said goodbye when I left the plane (this is more important than you would think - first and last impressions are lasting). Boeing 737s rock. The little extensions on the wings rock too."
Cons: "Typical airline stuff. Small seats. Bad elbow room in middle seat. I'm an "Emperor's new clothes" kind of guy. I won't ignore these things and pretend it's all okay, just because we all do. You probably can't do anything, cost-wise, about this. Fair enough. But my main complaint is that I had a ticket for a much later flight (leaving 6:30). I knew I was done with my business the previous day and tried to change my flight online and by phone the previous day. Changing flights by either of these channels would have cost me a minimum of an extra $238. Not worth it to me since the round trip was only $180, so I stayed. But going to the airport early and getting past TSA and going to the actual gate allowed an Alaska rep to change my flight there at the airport for $25 (This was actually a tip from my wife). In the year 2017, with the internet and cell phones, this situation is ridiculous! Why should I have not been able to do this from my hotel the day before and leave even earlier? As a company, you recognize the good will that having your crew and stews smile at people and say goodbye builds with your customers. Why would you allow this situation to continue? When traveling by air, convenience is everything. Get the information systems in place that allow you to accommodate this kind of change from either the website or the phone. If you need help with it, call me. I teach IT at the UW in Tacoma and I can put some of my seniors on the problem (whatever it is) and come up with a solution. Cons: "We had a 4 hour delay, with a departure time being pushed back 4 times. Ground personnel was informed of the shifting departure times long after the passengers knew because of electronic notifications. At a 1:45 am arrival most passengers had to spend the remaining night at the airport. The captain had the audacity to wish us a pleasant "evening" in Portland. No compensation was offered other than a $12 food voucher given at 8 PM when most passengers had eaten and which could not be used in a coffee and snack shop. The $12 did not cover a full meal at a restaurant that accepted the voucher."

It would not work for me, and there is no other resolutions that Alaska airline could offer. So I had to buy a new ticket from Delta at the airport and flew out at 7:30am. Noted the very next Alaska flight @7:30am and the rest of the direct flights for the day to Las were all on time departure flights. I must say that i am disappointed for Alaska's emergency contangecy plan and its response to a mild conditioned winter weather, and afterall the "best resolutions" that the airline could offer."

In today's world your need priority boarding of some sort on AA or you risk not being able to store you bags in the overhead and may have to get it checked free to your final destination. Also, one of our checked bags had a painting in it that we purchased and the bag and painting arrived unharmed. Good job by AA baggage handlers."

Cons: "I purchased the earliest flight of the day from Vegas to Los Angeles so I could be in LA by 11am so I could attend the 1pm Dodger game at dodger stadium... ( I specifically flew into lax for the game that I spent $100 on tickets for) well I arrived to LAS at 5am by 515am I received my first notification that my flight wouldn't be leaving until 1030am.... I was a little annoyed but hey I'm still going to make it to my game, ( I just needed to let my ride know who's lives 3 hours away from LA that my flight was going to be 3 hours late not to rush) well about an hour later I got another notification that my flight was now being pushed back to 230pm.... at this point I have no choice but to look for another flight.... I found another flight on Southwest leaving Las at 1210pm arriving in lax at 120pm... perfect I can still make my game... That flight was boarding on time... ran into some hiccups on the runway... arrive to lax at 130pm... not a problem can still make my game... sat on the runway at lax until 335.... needless to say I missed the game... while in the air I received another text that my American airline flights was now pushed back to 530pm... mind you my day started at 5am on Las Vegas to catch a flight out at 720am.... Now had I not found that other flight I would have been sitting around Vegas airport for over 12 hours.... I was not a happy flier today, specially because the actual flight is normally no more than 45 minutes start to finish... I could have rented a car and drove... would have been cheaper and I would have made it to my game ...."

The in flight snack was two crappy pieces of cookie? Or was that a cracker? I did not eat it. The entertainment was one shared screen that I did not have a headset for, nor was I offered a headset, free or for a fee. The screen in front of me was too close and the screen behind that was further away and barely able to see it. I choose not to watch it for these reasons. The landing was rough at the end, everyone jolted forward when we hit the ground."

I was there when she called her supervisor and advised him/her of my location and of my needs and she received confirmation. Was not her fault."
Cons: "I checked in with American and a wheel chair attendant assisted me to my gate. My wheel chair needed charged and I was two hours early, so the attendant sat me at the charging station because there were no outlets in the gate area. She contacted her supervisor to advise of my location and that I would need assistance. Nobody came for me. I gathered my things the best I could and struggled to get to the gate to get attitude from the gate agent, telling me the wheel chair attendant was there looking for me. What ever happen to using a paging system when you know the passenger who is disabled checked in two hours earlier? Had someone paged, maybe I could have flagged their attention, or maybe they could have called the company in charge of handling their wheel chair attendance and would have known where I could be located. Either way, the attitude is uncalled for, especially when I apologized and stated that the wheel chair attendant was expected to help me."
Pros: "Our flight was delayed overnight in Las Vegas, which was hassle but unavoidable due to weather and pilot flight hours restrictions. But the ground crew and American Airlines worked very hard to compensate all the passengers: gave us each a voucher for hotel, 2 meals, round trip shuttle ride for hotel and airport. Good work to make up for a bad situation."

Last time i had to stop in Vegas I got stuck there overnigh because my flight had been delayed and to mKe things worse they also managed to Miss my flights connection in Miami after they had booked me a new flight.. With a window seat that had no window. I old the flight attendant that I needed help stowing my backpack in the overhead bin, not because it was that heavy or big, but because the previous flight had been 5 hrs long and after being stuck in the middle seat my back was killing me and lifting my bag over my head would have triggered a muscle spasm. I have a back condition and they refused to help me. She would not even hear me out and insisted on me to check my bag, which I refused to because my laptop and tablet were in there without propper padding to protect them. The same flight attendant had already yelled at a passanger and was making a scene that made several other passengers uncomfortable. i understand the flight was full and they were delayed enough, but the airline clients should not have to pay for the airline's mistakes."

I was then put on standby for a flight that would leave two hours later. I went through security it only took 10min because it was 8am on a Saturday morning in LAS VEGAS. I was through security and my original flight still hadn't left. If the kiosk had just printed my ticket I would have made my flight with plenty of time."

I did take a red eye, and there was WiFi & power, which was a huge plus, but there was no seat back entertainment like on the way out. That may be by design so people are encouraged to sleep, but it still would have nice to know that want available on the plane. Was happy that a carry on and personal item was a trip option, that was awesome. Bathrooms were very clean. Communication was excellent regarding flight status, fullness of flights, upgrade options, etc."

Instead I had to sit in the worst seat on the plane without even being able to easily get out to wash my hands before pumping."

Cons: "Seats were not comfortable at all. My back was aching by the end of the flight. The power outlet under the seat would have been great, had it been working."

Pros: "After all the waiting we got to watch content for free (which is accountable for only 6 dollars)"
Cons: "After waiting for more than 1hr they started to give some information about the issues, they moved us to another plane that already was planned to be at SF at 10:40 (original flight was for 9pm), it got late again and we got to SFO by 12:20 am. More than 4 hours late. Even after that it took me a while to get a shuttle I even got to insist and explain again to get a Shuttle back home."
Pros: "The crew was excellent. They were professional, efficient and very accommodating. The pilot was also excellent. He kept us informed of the status of the flight throughout the trip."
Cons: "The plane was terrible. The seats are so close together that you cannot move. The aisle is so narrow that one person can barely down it. Forget it if you have to pass by someone. The bathroom too is so small that you cannot move in it. It’s so uncomfortable. The new boarding process is just dumb. And to make matters worse they don’t even bother to check the boarding groups when you board. I had a person in a later boarding group in front of me and they let her on anyway — so what’s the point of having boarding groups. They should just go back to boarding from the rear of the plane first - that is the most efficient and quick way to do it. The so called entertainment is a joke. There is a very small choice of movies/TV shows to watch and that’s it. The free wi-fi gets you nowhere."
Pros: "The flight got delayed however, it went well once in the air. Some turbulence on account of the weather but the crew were very friendly. We got free TV on account of the delay."

Pros: "Received a text that the flight from Denver to Frankfurt is delayed 2 hours."
Cons: "Delay notification message did suggest calling the airlines to make change nor stating that I'll miss my connection in Frankfurt. I assumed I'll be missing it so I called Lufthansa to make changes. Their attempts to help took too much time, they did not look tat the trip from origination to provide best alternatives until I arrived to airport in Las Vegas to find out that again they had to change the booking and issue a new ticket. This took more than two hours. Had I not was preemptive I would have been stuck in Frankfort for an extra day."

Pros: "As usual, the crew was excellent. Very professional and courteous. The pilot kept us informed of progress throughout the flight and was also very personable."
Cons: "NO RROM TO MOVE!! There is no legroom, no arm room and one person just barely fit in the aisle. If you are sitting on the aisle you are constantly getting hit by the people walking in the aisle and the beverage cart."

Cons: "Very cool staring at the gates... only 5 of them and no crew to bring us in. Even the shortest flights on Alaska or any other airline had cabin service. No drinks and no snacks from San Francisco. Alaska had complimentary beer and wine on a shorter flight from.Medford to Portland and even Portland to Seattle, but United can't even get us to the gate... let alone have any sort of in-flight service. Why is this so expensive again. I would compare flying these commercial named flights to a horrible carnival. Lack luster, over priced and not worth it. Cans vs. Uber... the world is changing my friends."

Cons: "United changed their luggage policy and because I booked through priceline/kayak I was not made aware of this new policy. Basic economy only allows you to bring a personal item on the plane, YOU CANNOT HAVE A CARRYON ITEM. Therefore they charge $25 to check your carry on bag and my flight then became more expensive than a different flight. Poor dissemination of information."
Pros: "They worked diligently in getting all of the people to their connecting flights. And this multiple groups going all over Europe"
Cons: "The repeating loop of the entertainment console was a little annoying. If no one is sitting in front of the device it would be nice if it just turned off"

Cons: "The crew was kind and we boarded quickly however the seats were small. Which mean when your 3.5 hour flight turns into 9 hours due to weather this can become very painful. There is no entertainment unless you brought your own device and without a plug to charge it becomes useless quickly."

Cons: "The steward wasn't very friendly and had a curt attitude when I had any requests for water and a refill of water. I didn't like that you needed the United app in order to watch in flight entertainment. That should be specified before getting on the plane because had I known I would have downloaded it to watch movies. Rather you MUST purchase the internet to download the app once in the air and that was just frustrating to find out an hour into a 5 hour flight. The lack of snacks. There is no variety, I had no idea what I was getting and the offerings they did have felt very restricted. Leg room was atrocious. Especially because we had no overhead room to store our backpacks which meant we had to place it under the chair in front of us. I am relatively tall so I wanted to stretch out my feet under the chair in front of me but they had to straddle my fat backpack and the gentleman who sat in front of me was very large and he kept kicking and hitting my feet underneath his chair."

Pros: "We were early for our flight. The flight was canceled 30 minutes before boarding, with no reason. United handed us a card and told us customer service would help us. Although we were booked on a flight the next day, it was on AMERICAN with a connecting flight. We waited in customer service line for an hour, to be told we would get only a discount on a hotel for the night. Not 100% paid for. We then waited another hour to be told our bags were already at our destination. No food vouchers. Just a goddamned headache. Horrible."

Pros: "Amazing flight to Dulles international Airport. The United representative came up and saw that I was traveling alone and upgraded me to first class. It was the first time I have ever flown first-class. I was excited I didn't sleep at all so I can take advantage of all the programming that was on TV. I'm so very appreciative of the flight because I could enjoy stretching my legs out and enjoying a comfortable seat. The very attentive crew allowed me opportunity to quench my thirst with countless glasses of water and to watch and keep up with my sports programming throughout the entire flight. Now it will be extremely hard to ever fly coach again. I have flown United the last couple of summers and I have been nothing but thrilled with their service and their staff. Moving forward United would be the only airline that I would care to fly. Thank you for everything and thank you for my safe travels!"

Cons: "We had issues with every part of this flight. The kiosk wouldn't find our confirmation, and it took 20 MINUTES to get assistance. The ticket attendant called the gate to let them know we were coming, then when we got to the gate (after over 30 minutes in security) the employee at the door stopped us and said we were "too late". The plane was still connected and the door was still open. We were there for 10 minutes trying to reschedule, and the plane took that much time to leave the gate. The gate attendants were very rude and tried to route us on a flight from Las Vegas to Chicago, then to Anchorage. When I questioned them, they put us on a flight that was 6 hours shorter, and arrived at the same time. They didn't even sit my husband and I together, even though there were seats available."
Cons: "They offer no food on a 5 hour flight unless you want to pay extra money, they only gave one small bags of mixed chips, I feel on a 5 hour flight they should atleast give you something more then that. Also no movies on a 5 hour flight unless you use your credit card and pay, again on a 5 hour flight have something that you don't have to pay extra for."

Getting stuck in front of a kid who kept dropping her tray table open and slamming it shut wasn't fun, but I know United isn't responsible for someone else's sucky parenting. And when did the leg room shrink???"
